Expert verdict

Neds is a very strong sportsbook that has a wealth of different sports events and markets on offer. The site further excels by offering the Neds punters toolbox, which you can access when you make a Neds account. Here you can find the Neds promo code and any Neds promotions.

Elsewhere across the Neds website, there is a range of other exciting features as well. The filter form is an excellent option for all players and there’s an easy bet builder to boot.

The site is fully licenced and secure, thus ensuring a safe gaming environment. You can make payments via a wide range of options including the Neds card, which makes things even easier.

Finally, you can enjoy 24/7 Neds customer service, an easy-to-use interface, and even the option to enjoy a betting app if you’re out and about. With higher odds than most and a range of bet types, it’s a great place to get started.

Sports and markets at the Neds sportsbook

When you play online, you want to be able to wager on a wide array of different sports betting markets. Ideally, we want to see more than 30 sports available for use on the Neds bet slip.

The Neds website falls just a little short with 27 betting markets, although these do include a lot of Aussie sports. For instance, the Neds racing section is packed with Aussie and International racing events. There are also cricket, Aussie Rules and rugby league options.

Not only that, but each betting market offers a range of different tournaments and leagues. Like the horse race options in the Neds racing section, players can find sports markets from around the globe across many sports.

Neds offers a range of different bet types too, although this will depend on the sport. American football has more than 90 betting markets in place while cricket has 50 per game. Find out more in this Neds review.

Sports & markets rating

79/100 Great selection of sports betting options
  • Focus on horse racing
  • Many novelty bets
  • Limited betting options

Neds online really kicked things off well here as there are over 25 sports on offer. I was really impressed here if I am honest, even if it is a little shy of the ideal 30.

However, despite being really good, I will say that it’s still not quite on the level of bet365, which offers more than 40 sports and really does stand out as the top sportsbook in the AU market at this time.

However, Neds is far better than the 19 sports markets from Bet Deck so, like I said, no real complaints here. I will also say that it’s great to see so many betting markets per game per sport. And, I really enjoyed the Filter Form with the punter assist when you sign in.

Additional market details: Unsurprisingly, it’s the horse race options that really come top here. There are AU, NZ and international races on offer. There are lots of live betting and streaming options for these races too. Additionally, most of the Neds promotions found in the punters toolbox are for racing codes.

Additional market details: Another popular option is cricket. Most of the top international events are found here with some excellent futures markets on offer. Neds users can find all the tools needed to bet on One Day Internationals, The Ashes, IPL and more.

Betting features at Neds

Betting tools are a great way to boost your betting experience. We check all of these out as well as look for any Neds sign up bonus when we create and log in to a Neds account.

Once in your Neds account, the first thing you will see is the Neds toolbox. This is home to all the different betting tools and bet boosts that you can use when you place your bets on various sports events.

In fact, there is a huge range of offers and bet types to be found here. These include a bet boost button, multi bets, extra nudge, high fixed odds bets and much more.

Neds Australia is home to some unique betting features but it does have some of the standard features too. There’s also the Neds multi builder and cash out available for live bets.

Betting features rating

91/100 The Neds toolbox contains many bet boosts
  • Cash out offered
  • Easy-to-use bet slip
  • Many bet boosts
  • Live betting is phone only
  • Lacks a cashout option

Well, Neds offers a lot to think about here and I was very impressed by it all. Talk about going the extra mile when it comes to what a site can offer punters.

Yes, this is a high score mainly because of that spectacular Neds toolbox. And yes, even though Dabble offers a wealth of punter-friendly social betting features, I really love the Neds bet boost and other bets even more.

I also really love that even new players get help with detailed breakdowns of what each multi bet or bet type can help you do. There are Neds toolbox tips for different sports, not just racing, and a blog with different sections. It really puts sites like Bbet, which has none of these options, to shame.

Additional features: The Filter Form in the Neds toolbox is an excellent feature as it lets you create all the bets you need. You can make multi bets here or stick to singles. And all of this is for each of the three main sections of racing. When you input the different multi bet options, then the Form does the rest.

Neds sports betting odds

Good betting odds can really boost your online sports betting, therefore it’s important to play at a site with great racing odds features and high fixed odds. This is so that you can really maximise the chance of a fair, competitive payout.

Odds are always changing though, so we make sure we check out the payout percentage of each site in order to see how it holds up. Ideally, this percentage should be over 95%.

Neds actually sits at a very impressive 97%, which is at the upper end and something we consider excellent. It showcases the fact that it has very competitive odds across the board.

As with all online live betting, the payout percentage drops 2 percentage points, but this is normal. The overall in-play payout is still much higher than most sites found online in Australia.

Odds rating

95/100 Extremely high fixed odds across all sports
  • Top betting odds
  • Easy access odds
  • High payouts
  • Live bet odds lower but still very competitive

I was ecstatic when I saw the payout percentages available at Neds. After many, somewhat lacklustre payout percentages on other sites, this was truly a sight for sore eyes! The best odds I’ve seen in Australia.

The top sports include Aussie Rules, football and racing each with that 97% payout rate. As you may imagine, this puts sites like Winnersbet firmly in the dust with its payout percentage of less than 90% overall.

While the live bets do drop in value, they’re still at around the 95% mark. This is higher than other top sites such as Bet Right, which has a 94% payout rate for pre-game bets. So yes, definitely give this site a go.

Payment methods found in our Neds review

If you’re going to make a deposit to claim a fixed odds bet or a Neds bet boost from your Neds account, then you need a range of deposit methods to do that. And we like to see around ten options.

Neds does do well here and indeed has 8 different payment methods. You can use everything from a credit or debit card to the Neds card or even PayPal, which brings some much-needed diversity.

Most of these payment options can be used to make deposits and withdrawals. And, you can use them to claim any Neds offers that are found once you have logged in to your account.

In addition to the diversity, none of the payment options here come with any fees or charges. You can get instant deposits across the board and, depending on the payment method, you can also claim fast withdrawals. However, typically, you’re looking at a 3-day turnaround. Additionally, there are very low minimum withdrawal limits of just AU$1, which is also nice to see.

Payments rating

83/100 Great selection of payment methods offered
  • Speedy deposits for payments
  • Some fast withdrawals
  • Low minimum withdrawal amount
  • No maximum withdrawal amount listed
  • Payouts are only processed Monday to Friday

With eight payment options available, I can say that Neds offers players a great choice here. However, although there was an impressive low minimum withdrawal amount, I would have liked to see the maximum withdrawal amount listed as well.

I actually was very happy with the payment methods Neds offers. I also liked the fact that there is the Neds cash card, which can garner you extra perks when you use it. It’s similar to the card option offered by Sportsbet.

I did knock off a few points though simply because I had to get in touch with support to find out some of the minimum and maximum deposit/withdrawal values. I’d rather have all the information provided just like BlueBet does so that I can find it all myself.

Safety features

It’s very important that you always make sure you’re playing on a safe, secure betting site when you play online. This means ensuring that the site is licenced and has SSL encryption in place.

Neds is fully licenced by the NT Racing Commission. As such it shows that it is following Australian gambling laws, and it has to meet the NTRC requirements to remain operational.

It’s also got good SSL encryption protocols in place. This is evidenced by the locked padlock icon in the URL and indicates that all your data is protected from third parties.

In addition, the betting site takes your safety further by ensuring that there are responsible gambling tools available. You can quickly and easily self-exclude, cool off or set daily deposit limits from your account either on the main site or the Neds mobile app.

Safety rating

75/100 Solid security but nothing really very different
  • Fully licensed
  • Self-set deposit limits
  • SSL encryption
  • No unique responsible gambling tools

On the face of it, there’s nothing really wrong here. Everything that should be offered is – there’s a valid licence, SSL encryption and responsible gambling tools. But, I was still disappointed and here’s why.

As Neds is part of Ladbrokes now, I was really expecting the same level of SSL encryption, but we don’t get that. Yes, it’s 256-bit, but when Ladbrokes has 2048-bit, it’s a bit of a letdown.

Okay, so I am quibbling. It really is very good and, of course, Neds has never been blacklisted or even faced a fine. Unlike Bet Nation, which violated responsible gambling protocols and was fined quite recently.

Customer support

It’s essential to convenient betting that you are able to get in touch with support swiftly and easily when you’re playing online. And this is why we take a look at the support options.

For the best experience, we like to see three different options one of which should be a 24/7 live chat service operated by real people. And this is exactly what Neds offers.

In fact, Neds goes one better and has two phone lines as well. This is because the second line is for those looking to make live bets – in Australia, it’s only legal to do this via a call-up feature.

The 24/7 live chat is very responsive, but there is also a really good FAQ section that does well in answering many of the commonly asked questions. You can check here before reaching out via chat.

Support rating

83/100 Many ways to get in touch with sportsbook staff
  • Phone support
  • Excellent Help section
  • 24/7 live chat
  • Live chat isn’t sticky

Again, I am pleased to report that I was happy with the options presented here. For me, 24/7 is a must and it’s a deal breaker for me if it isn’t there. Luckily, it is available at Neds.

When I reached out via live chat, I found that it was very responsive and the staff member was incredibly helpful. And, I liked that it wasn’t initially a bot, which is the case when I reached out to Zbet live chat.

I did knock points off simply for the fact that I did have to get in touch with someone as the FAQ did not provide the answers I sought. But at least there is an FAQ section, unlike CrossBet so this is only a minor quibble.

Platform and usability

Finally, we also look at the overall usability of the site across all its platforms. This means that we don’t just check the desktop site, but the mobile one as well.

Neds sportsbook mobile screenshot

Neds has a very clean design with a bright orange and white interface. It’s very easy to use with minimal clutter and no overloading of menus or links to sift through.

It’s got many different menu options for sports, how-to’s, new features, punter assist and so on. However, there are no sports filters but as everything is so clearly alphabetized, this isn’t really necessary.

Once again, I was very pleased with the overall look and feel of the site. This is across both the desktop and mobile sites. I really liked how intuitive it all is making it pretty hard to get confused.

If I have one gripe, and it’s a tiny one, it’s that I’d like a dark mode version as the white can be a bit much. But as it stands, it’s very similar in look and feel to GetSetBet.

Regardless, at least the site is not confusing like BetGold. At Neds, everything loads well and there was no glitching as some sites do. In fact, I felt that Neds really took pains to help players as best it could, which is why I give this a high score. It really takes things to the Neds level!

FAQs

Is Neds a safe betting site?

Yes, Neds is very safe to play at. Both the Neds app and desktop site are licenced with the NTRC, which means that it has to follow its rules and regulations. Additionally, the site is securely protected by SSL encryption protocols. This means that whenever you provide your banking or personal details, these are protected so that unwanted companies can’t get hold of them.

Who is Neds owned by?

This betting site is owned by Entain Plc. This company also owns and operates Ladbrokes, which is why you may notice some similarities between these sites especially when it comes to the racing markets and sign up bonus offers punters can enjoy. While it’s not Australia’s newest online bookmaker, Neds has done well to retain a strong position in the market, which has kept Ladbrokes CEO Dean Shannon happy.

What is the max payout on Neds?

The exact maximum payout from Neds is not listed on the site. However, there is a note to say that it is subject to restrictions – you can withdraw more with a debit card than PayPal for instance. There is a figure of AU$10,000 listed, but this is not the maximum available. Neds punters should be aware that there have been restrictions placed on winning players in the past though, which is a bit of a downside for this betting company.

Can you cash out with Neds?

Yes, there is a cash out option on the Neds website. Excitingly, there is both full and partial cash out available for Australian punters. However, you can’t use this for just any bet, it’s only available when you place a live bet. Any live bet you place must be done via the phone and cannot be placed via the online platform. You will need to contact the Neds customer service team to do this.

How long do Neds withdrawals take?

While deposits are instant, it’s not possible to claim your winnings instantly. Instead, any winnings do have to go through a pending period to ensure you’ve met the rollover requirements. After this, depending on the payment you use, payouts can take place from 1 to 5 days later. This is also the case for any wins made using any Neds offers including racing promotions, the sign up bonus and so on.
