Expert verdict
I was impressed, to say the least, with the different ways you can claim a bonus at BetPlays. For instance, one of three no-deposit bonuses is accessible just for signing up via Telegram.
There are other bonuses and promotions too, and while I don’t think they are the largest offers out there, I appreciate that there’s variety to be had.
Elsewhere, there’s a solid selection of different casino games to enjoy, with most game types covered. I was pleased to see that there’s also a sportsbook, virtual sports and eSports available.
It’s not all good though, as there are issues with the website’s usability and its commitment to player safety. I was also blocked from seeing certain information because I wasn’t logged in.

As I would expect from a casino site these days, there was a wide array of bonuses and promotions, especially for the newcomers to the site.
I was pleased to see not one but three different no-deposit offers, which has BetPlays immediately outdoing so many other NZ casinos. Stake, for instance, doesn’t have a no-deposit bonus at all. BetPlays offers free spins or a match deposit bonus depending on the actions taken.
However, I didn’t like the fact that there is limited information about the casino bonuses. The welcome offer is split across three deposits, but you can’t get information about it until you sign up and log in.
The initial bonus has 8x wagering requirements, but all others are 48x. This is much higher than Casumo’s 30x, which I think is a more acceptable option. Of course, it’s still worth utilizing that initial low wagering requirement offer.
Elsewhere, there are ongoing bonuses and a VIP programme. Again, it was disappointing to find that there isn’t much information provided about any of them. There are almost no details for the VIP programme, which is a big miss.

I will say that this is actually a pretty standout section for me. BetPlays has a wide array of gambling games available and these cover most of the major game types.
With over 9000 casino games in its library, BetPlays is easily able to exceed the 3000 or so from LeoVegas. It does better in all the different game types too.
However, there is no proper jackpot section. I had to search via name to see if some popular ones are present, which is less convenient than browsing through the 600+ clearly labelled jackpots offered by King Billy.
However, when looking at the live casino, BetPlays once again wins out, beating King Billy’s selection by more than double. There are eleven different live game providers.
I was also very happy to see that there are more unusual games here, such as crash, keno and even virtual sports. Demo games are available, though annoyingly only for registered players.

Another solid section with some flaws on BetPlays online NZ casino. For starters, there are 16 different options here, and these can be used for all the different transaction types, which was nice to see.
Additionally, I was happy to see so many casino deposit options. I liked the choice, and when compared to the seven options from SpinYoo, I was really happy to see this selection.
However, it’s not perfect. I was a bit disappointed to see that there is a minimum deposit and withdrawal of NZ$35, which is a lot higher than Casimba’s NZ$20 minimum.

To be honest, this is the section with some of the biggest issues. And as you will know, it’s one of the most important as safety and security is a must.
First, this casino has the relatively unknown Anjouan licence. It seems to be becoming more popular due to its ease of acquiring, which is already a red flag.

I was happy to see the live chat for starters. Even more impressive is the availability of both an email address and a phone number, the latter often being unavailable at many casinos, including BetandPlay.
Just like at Stake, I found the FAQs section very easily. All support channels are instantly accessible.
However, the FAQs section was not as good as I had hoped it would be. When I clicked on some sections, nothing loaded, which was a disappointment for me.

The site loads very quickly, in less than a second. There are other verticals available, including a full sportsbook, and eSports and virtual sports sections, providing a rounded gambling interface.

When it comes to looks, BetPlays is a nice looking site. It’s got the dark theme that I am always a fan of, and it uses clear fonts and minimal graphics.
However, unlike Woo casino, there is no mobile app available. Now, this wasn’t an issue for me really, as the mobile browser works just like the desktop one.
I will say that I was mightily impressed with the filter options. All the providers are there as filters, and the number of games per provider is also displayed.
I also like how fast this casino is. With minimal graphics, it loads in 0.2 seconds which is faster even than the 0.3 seconds from Winz.io, a site I already thought was fast.
That being said, not all of the pages worked, and some of the links simply didn’t load or open a page at all. It’s unclear whether I needed to be logged in or if these links were broken.
