Best alternatives to BitWin casino
Editor's note
This review is based on the operator’s current offer in New Zealand. Data and analysis below are accurate at the time of publishing, but may be subject to change as the operator’s offer expands.
Expert verdict
Playing at Bitwin, while the casino still operated, was generally enjoyable for me.
It was a decently strong casino, and I would’ve recommended it to players. The welcome bonus was generous, and I appreciated the fair terms.
What set this online casino apart was its gaming library. With over 9,000 games from a huge number of software providers, I was really spoilt for choice here. I found all-time favorites like Wolf Gold and Big Bass Splash, and latest releases like Sweet Bonanza 1000.
On top of that, there were about 1,000 live-casino games. I didn’t get to see that everyday at the time, and I still don’t now!
If Bitwin ever makes a comeback to NZ, you can count on seeing me there. In the meantime, below is my last analysis of Bitwin’s product prior to the brand’s market exit.
Bonuses at Bitwin
The welcome package offers up to NZ$2,400 + 275 free spins. This is spread over your first three deposits.
Your first deposit will give you a 125% bonus of up to NZ$800 and 100 free spins, your second is a 100% bonus of up to NZ$800 and 75 free spins, and the third is a 125% bonus again of up to NZ$700 with 100 free spins.

Sometimes a casino does a lot to draw in new customers but then fails to deliver after that.
Thankfully, Bitwin isn’t one of them. I scoured the site to see what offers it has once you’re an existing member and was pleased to find many ways to be rewarded.
On top of the fair welcome bonus (30x is standard, but running up to NZ$2,400 is definitely standout), there are recurring promos for weekly, seasonal, and other random promos.
The 20% cashback drew me in at first, but I was quickly put off by the NZ$150 minimum deposit to qualify. A bit too steep for me.
Other than that, all checks out.
Games: thousands to choose from
Games at Bitwin include 2,400+ slots, of which 880 are jackpots and 100+ Megaways™ hits.
There are about 600 table games, 46 poker titles, a handful of bingo, keno, lotto, and a 24/7 live casino with over 1,000 games. Don’t come here looking for sic bo, scratch cards, or Slingo, though, as these are missing.

Bitwin casino’s game library impressed me from the start. There were so many games listed that I found it difficult to choose what to play first.
The by-provider filter came in handy here.
The only things missing were Slingo, scratch cards, and sic bo, but frankly, this didn’t seem important when looking at what was available. Compared to nearly all online casinos in NZ our team reviewed, Bitwin is leagues ahead of the competition in sheer variety alone.
My overall verdict on Bitwin’s games? It’s had plenty to keep me entertained, so I can overlook the small downsides.
Software providers and studios on offer
Bitwin offers an array of over 100 software providers, including big names like BigTimeGaiming, Amatic, Pragmatic Play, Habanero, and Evolution, and smaller studios.

Available software
Software rating
- Over 100 software providers
- 6 live-casino studios
- No bespoke software
The range of software developers is equally impressive. You’ll find all the major players here, including Pragmatic Play, Hacksaw Gaming, Red Tiger Gaming, and Playtech. There’s also a great selection of live software providers, with games live-streamed from studios.
There are also smaller providers like Kiron, a South African-based developer that specializes in virtual sports games. I particularly enjoyed their Maxcar Motoracing game here.
Unfortunately, Bitwin casino doesn’t have any bespoke or downloadable software options, and although demos are offered to non-registered users a few I tried had errors upon opening.
Accepted payment methods
Bitwin accepts 15 payment methods, covering mainly credit/debit cards, e-wallets, and cryptocurrencies.

Deposits are generally funded instantly, no matter how you top up your account. Withdrawals, however, do take different lengths of time depending on your chosen method.
The quickest option for withdrawals is cryptocurrencies, as these are available instantly. Otherwise, you’re looking at up to five days.

Withdrawal methods
Payments rating
- No fees
- Low minimum deposit at NZ$30
- Instant withdrawals via crypto
- Card withdrawals up to five day
- Payment policy isn’t transparent
- Popular e-wallets missing like PayPal
Bitwin casino combines regular payment methods with cryptocurrencies, which I like because it’s a great way into a crypto casino for those just dipping a toe in. The range of payment methods on offer for deposits is acceptable, though not as extensive as other sites and there are some notable missing options (like PayPal).
The minimum deposit amount is NZ$30 and the maximum depends on the method you choose. The minimum withdrawal amount is also NZ$30, which is higher than some sites, like Jackpot City (NZ$10) and may be off-putting for more casual players. However, for the number of games I could access, I found NZ$30 acceptable.
As with the deposits, the maximum withdrawal amount depends on the method chosen but if you exceed this, you will have to withdraw your balance in installments, though this is only likely to be a problem for high rollers.
What I would like to see improved is the transparency of the payment policy. The T&Cs are very vague, I couldn’t find details on what the accepted methods or limits are and had to figure it out on my own when attempting to deposit, which was frustrating.

Safety rating
- Owned by an experienced brand
- Easy-to-set deposit limits
- No game-fairness information
- Convoluted RG tools
I’m familiar with all Dama brands, and Bitwin fits the bill. As expected, I was in for a cookie-cutter casino that packs all the same positives and negatives.
Some players could be put off by the Curaçao licensing, known for its leniency, but it’s pretty standard for New Zealand.
Despite the potential weakness in licensing, I did feel that Bitwin did everything by the book. The registration process was secure and, like all respectable casinos, requires players to go through the Know Your Customer (KYC) process.
In terms of protecting customer data, Bitwin uses 128-bit SSL encryption and PGP protocol so that data transfers are safe and secure. There’s no option to turn on two-factor authentication however, which I found disappointing.
The ‘Responsible Gambling’ section at Bitwin also isn’t as extensive as other online casinos.
When opening up the tab, I was met with a wall of text, which took me a good while to work through. I felt that this could be much better presented and easier to read — after all, this should be one of the most important aspects of a responsible online casino.
Reducing the text and structuring the information into sections or a table would make it much easier to digest. That said, all of the tools, as well as external links to gambling associations, are available.
Overall, I’ve given Bitwin casino an average rating for safety since there’s nothing particularly groundbreaking here.
Customer support: quality and availability
A basic FAQ section is supported by live chat, message, and email support at Bitwin.
There is no telephone support, but live-chat responses are nearly instant.

The time of day doesn’t seem to play a part in the response rate or the quality of the responses from the support team.
Support rating
- 24/7 live chat
- Email responses within 1hr
- Brief FAQ
I found Bitwin’s support system to be helpful and efficient. Live chat responses were fast during my tests for this review — always around one minute or less.
The absence of telephone support might put some people off, but for me, it was the lack of detailed FAQs that I found frustrating. I feel that a lot of questions to the live chat and email support teams could have been avoided by having more FAQs with detailed answers.
That aside, I did find the support at Bitwin to be fantastic. My email queries came back with detailed and helpful answers within the hour, and the live-chat Customer Service team was particularly helpful.
The answers and help I got from the support team solved my issues and queries immediately, though a more comprehensive Help Centre or expanded FAQ would’ve been sufficient.
Usability: UI/UX experience
Registering at Bitwin involves filling in your email address and password, and checking a few boxes about promotions and accepting policies. You can also sign up with Facebook, Google, X, and MetaMask.
The process is quick, and generally the site is responsive and quick. The UI is simple, but is neatly organized and facilitates easy navigation.

Usability rating
- Less than 2min to register
- KYC complete within 24hr
- Advanced filtering
- No mobile app
- Slower load times, at times
Arguably the only bad thing I have to say about Bitwin casino is its lack of mobile app. Online casinos these days know that their biggest customers are mobile users, and yes, there is a great mobile website but an app gives you that little bit more. I must admit, I like a casino app — there’s no typing in the web address or scrolling through bookmarks, for a start.
Lack of app aside, I can’t really fault Bitwin for its usability. Sometimes, loading was a little slow but this is pretty negligible and didn’t affect gameplay (just a handful of pages).
The registration process was great. I signed up quickly and seamlessly. Once signed up and logged in, it’s also easy to find your way around the site. The large top header is where you’ll find all of the information about promotions, then below that, you have all of the game filters.
Compared to some sites with a large number of games, Bitwin has excellent filters – and it’s a good job, considering there are over 9,000 games to choose from.
You can select one of the filters or choose to see games by provider.
There’s also the option to search for a game by name, which I liked. If you’re looking for live games, you’ll find them all listed under the ‘Live Games’ tab.
I’d have liked to be able to filter these further. As there are so many live games, it would be useful to filter them by provider or type once you’re in the live-dealer section, but this is a relatively minor issue.
