Editor's note

This review is based on the operator’s current offer in New Zealand. Data and analysis below are accurate at the time of publishing, but may be subject to change as the operator’s offer expands.

Expert verdict

Minimalism is the name of the game here, but InstaSpin takes it too far. There’s a welcome package available, but that’s it. There is no InstaSpin no-deposit bonus nor any other reward for returning players.

Additionally, while the interface is clean and clear, many of the major filter tools are missing. That being said, it has a nice uncluttered feel, which translates admirably to the mobile interface.

The selection of games is a whittled-down one, too. Yes, pokies make up the bulk of the portfolio, but the virtual table games and live casino sections are lacklustre.

Finally, it really just doesn’t cut it when it comes to security. You can’t go minimal here. And InstaSpin tries to do just that. It’s not a good look.

Bonus

InstaSpin casino offers a large welcome package to new players. This is split across the first three deposits and, in total, awards up to NZ$1,000 across those three deposits.

The first deposit offer is a 100% match deposit of up to NZ$100. Ten free spins are awarded each day for a total of 100 spins. These are playable on Big Bass Bonanza.

The second deposit offer is a 50% match up to NZ$200. For the third deposit deal, this is awarded as a 25% match deposit bonus up to NZ$700. No more free spins are given.

Bonus rating

85/100 Seemingly attractive welcome bonus, but not much else
  • Welcome offer spread over three deposits
  • Free spins awarded
  • No VIP program
  • Lacks other bonus offers

The welcome bonus initially looks good, but is somewhat deceptive. It’s only 100% on the first deposit, and the final amount is rather low. The larger value (third deposit) has a match of only 25%, which I found disappointing.

The only good thing about this welcome offer really is that it had acceptable wagering requirements. At 30x, it’s a far sight better than the 50x required by BetandPlay casino. And, there is a decent 30 days to achieve it.

Only 100 free spins are offered, but these are on Big Bass Bonanza which is a decent pokie. Some of the best reviewed online casinos give more spins, but I am not really complaining about this as a hundred is a very decent amount.

Where I am complaining though, is on behalf of long-term players. No hide nor hair of any bonus or promotions for them. LuckyWins has multiple options, so InstaSpin’s lack of anything is a huge disappointment for all.

To add insult to injury here, there is also no VIP program or any type of loyalty available. Anyone choosing to play here will have to content themselves with the initial welcome offer and make use of all three deposits.

Games and software

There are just over 1,900 casino games on InstaSpin casino. These cover all the main game categories including pokies, virtual table games, live casino and some jackpots.

Pokies make up the largest portion with more than 1800 games. These include a range of different themes and in-game mechanics. There are no specific in-game filters.

The live casino is small with just 42 games. This is similar in size to the virtual table games – there are 33 of these. There are 10 jackpot pokies on offer.

Games rating

89/100 Decent selection that’s limited by an over-reliance on pokies
  • Over 1800 pokies
  • Specific jackpot section
  • Live casino games offered
  • Not very diverse selection
  • Tiny number of table games

On the surface, I really liked the game collection here. There are over a thousand casino games and I liked that it was made clear that some providers were not available to NZ players.

On closer inspection, the cracks began to show. Yes, there are more than 1,800 pokies, but these are all very samey. Not only that, but the entire collection totals 1900, which is half the offering from Risk.
This limited selection is most noticeable when it comes to the live dealer casino. There are just 42 titles, which is dismal in comparison to the 169 live games that Dunder has.

You’d think that the virtual table game section might offer better, but you’d be wrong. There were barely any more games here than in the live casino.

I will say that there were some top games. And I do love a spin or two on Book of Dead, so the pokie selection, at least, is up to date with popular favourites.

Payment methods

There are ten different methods for players to use for making a withdrawal. These include various card methods, bank transfer and even some cryptocurrencies. There are no eWallets available.

Deposits are instant. There is a minimum deposit of NZ$20. Maximum deposits depend on the payment method that is being used. This ranges from NZ$3,000 to NZ$5,000.

Withdrawals have a 24-hour processing time and do not take place on the weekends. Typically, players can expect to get their winnings three to five days after their request.

80/100 Limited selection with a surprising lack of eWallets
  • Instant deposits
  • Low minimum deposit
  • Very high minimum withdrawal
  • No eWallet options
  • Limited maximum transaction sizes

There’s a rather strange selection of options from the range of casino payment methods available to NZ players. I don’t mind it per se, but the lack of any eWallets is more of an annoyance than anything else.

Where the issues arise, is at transaction time. Deposits are instant and have a minimum of NZ$20, which I am not really complaining about. But I do prefer Spin Casino’s NZ$5 deposit minimum.

The issues come with the withdrawals. NZ$100 is a ridiculously high minimum and raises serious concerns about the veracity of the site. Additionally, withdrawals are capped at NZ$5,000, which is low.
Other casinos like BetVictor allow up to NZ$50,000 which is much more like it. The additional concern is that winnings are also capped at NZ$5,000 per day at InstaSpin.

The time it takes for a withdrawal can be up to five days. I did notice that the casino doesn’t process any winnings at the weekends either, so it’s likely to be an even longer turnaround.

Safety, transparency, and reputation

InstaSpin is licensed by the Union of the Comoros. This information is clearly displayed in the footer of the page. It’s also here where you can see the SSL encryption certificate.

There is a section for responsible gambling too. Here players can take a short test to see if they have a gambling problem. It’s also here where the other gambling tools are outlined.

To set up deposit limits or to self-exclude, players need to get in touch with the casino directly. This can be done via live chat or through emailing.

79/100 Concerning licencing makes this a site to avoid
  • SSL encryption protocols
  • Self-exlusion available
  • No proper licence
  • Lacks RNG auditing
  • Minimal responsible gambling tools

Everything about this site screams stay away. I was horrified to see that there is no real licence available here, only one from the Union of the Comoros.

The lack of a licence, even one from Curacao is a major concern for me. Sites like JooCasino at least hold a licence from Curacao, which at least has some safety requirements in place.

The lack of many responsible gambling tools is, frankly, a disaster. Surprisingly, these are similar in number to JustCasino which only offers cooling off and self-exclusion. Self-exclusion and deposit limits are all InstaSpin offers, and it’s not enough.

Okay, yes InstaSpin has access to various gambling hotlines listed, but so do almost all other sites. That’s the bare minimum and far from enough in my book.

Worse, there are no auditing seals on the site. This means that while the games do come from reputable developers, there are no third party tests going on which I am not on board with.

Customer support

Instapsin has 24/7 support in place. This is mainly when it comes to using the live chat. This can be found as a link in the footer of the page.

There is also an email available or messaging via the chat as well. This does have a slower response time but is good when requesting self-exclusion or other gambling tools.

A comprehensive help centre is the best place to look for answers to most questions. It opens in a separate window and categorises the questions clearly and simply.

Safety rating

79/100 Average support with nothing specifically good or bad
  • 24/7 support
  • Live chat available
  • Strong help centre
  • No telephone
  • Lacks sticky live chat

I will say that this is a solid section to the site, but not as good as it could be. There is a live chat, email and help centre available.
Additionally, the live chat is available 24/7, which is a much better showing than the limited support offered by Royal Panda. So, I will give good points here.

However, the live chat is not sticky. Instead, I had to locate the small header in the footer of the site to click and operate the live chat. At least I didn’t have to sign in to use it.

Like Guts Casino, I was pleased to see that the response time for the live chat was quick. And, again matching Guts, InstaSpin has a solid help centre available.

I’m not going to be too harsh here, though I would like to see more questions added to the Help Centre, and perhaps some more detailed answers for some of the transaction questions.

Usability

InstaSpin has a crisp, clean user-interface. There are minimal graphics throughout the page, which makes it easy to find the main areas of the site on both desktop and mobile.

There is no mobile app available to download. But the mobile version of the site works well. All the games are also accessible and available when playing in mobile form.

The games are all laid out in their main categories. However, while there is a search function, there are no additional game or search filters provided when looking for a game.

Usability rating

88/100 Solid interface that gets the job done
  • Clean and uncluttered
  • Mobile compatible
  • Relatively fast loading
  • No dark theme
  • Lacks game and provider filters

I found InstaSpin’s overall interface quite nice. It’s very clear and uncluttered which meant I was able to navigate around with ease. The site’s simplicity translates well to the smaller screen, too.
There’s a lot of white though, and while this helps keep that crisp look, I would like a dark theme, too. Empire.io manages to offer a dark theme, which elevates that platform.

I was disappointed to see that there were no filters of any kind provided. Yes, the games are categorised, but I expect more. And I’d like the provider filter option.

Load times were okay, but not great. At 4 seconds, it really should be faster. And that’s especially the case when I know that sites like Casino Days load in half a second.

Overall though, the user experience is not terrible. Everything was where I expected it to be and there were no broken page links or misdirections to be found.
