In this Ritzo casino review, I look at everything from the Ritzo casino bonus to the payment methods this casino offers its NZ players.

While there is no Ritzo casino no-deposit bonus, there are plenty of other exciting features. These include a gamified loyalty programme with achievements and rewards.

Editor's note

This review is based on the operator’s current offer in New Zealand. Data and analysis below are accurate at the time of publishing, but may be subject to change as the operator’s offer expands.

Expert verdict

I found that Ritzo is a solid casino platform, but it does leave some things to be desired.

There are some seriously good bonuses on offer, but there are many different conditions and high wagering requirements in place. I found the same to be true of the loyalty programme, which only offers 1 coin per NZ$1,500 wagered on the site.

The number of games is staggering and I was certainly spoilt for choice, but better game curation and organisation would improve navigation and ensure a more consistently quality experience.

Bonus

Ritzo’s welcome offer is split across five deposits, giving players up to NZ$1,500 and 300 free spins.

The first deposit comes with a 100% match up to NZ$375. The second deposit offers a 125% match up to NZ$1,125 and 50 free spins, while deposits three to five reward players with free spins.

When it comes to other promos, players can enjoy a weekly bonus of 30% up to NZ$300 each Wednesday. Another bonus, available at the weekends, gives a 40% match up to NZ$500.

The loyalty club has five levels and earns players different rewards.

Bonus rating

80/100 Solid bonuses with a strong Loyalty Club to round it out
  • No wagering requirements on free spins
  • Five-part welcome package
  • Tournaments available
  • High bonus wagering requirements
  • Limited bonuses for budget players

I was impressed with the different bonus options. I feel that both newcomers and regulars are catered for, making Ritzo one of the better sites for casino bonuses.

The welcome bonus is a big one and offers up to NZ$1,500 if used to the maximum. While this is not quite as big as SpinYoo’s welcome offer of NZ$2,000, it’s still big enough for me so I’m not quibbling.

Where Ritzo does come into its own is the wagering requirements. Yes, for the deposit matches this is 45x, which is higher than the 35x offered by Casimba. But there are no wagering requirements on the free spins at all.

I also liked the fact that the casino has a range of bonus options. With weekly and weekend casino bonuses and free spins, there’s a lot to keep players coming back time and time again.

There are also a series of different tournaments for various games, all of which can earn players big prizes. The five-level loyalty programme could do with having more information about it though, as I found it somewhat lacking.

Games and software

Ritzo casino has one of the highest numbers of games out there. With 16,000 casino games available, there’s plenty to keep players occupied when they sign up and begin playing.

Most of these games are pokies. In fact, an impressive 13,000 games are pokies and these include a wide array of different game types and offer various in-game mechanics to boot.

In other sections, there are plenty of virtual table games, with hundreds on offer, and a similarly large collection of jackpots.

Games rating

96/100 Large selection of games with a great live casino
  • Hundreds of live casino games
  • Thousands of pokies
  • Big video poker section
  • Unorganised game categorisation
  • No quality control

It’s hard to be disappointed in a casino that provides players with 16,000 casino games. And this is exactly what Ritzo casino has on offer. I’ve never seen such a large casino library.

I was impressed to see that there are more than 13,000 pokies available. This rather blows 888Casino’s paltry 2,500 pokies out of the water. That being said, there’s no quality control.

The live casino is also similarly massive. I found that there are eight different live providers offering up hundreds of live games. Playzee only has 40 or so, which is disappointing in comparison.

While I did like the fact that there are thousands of games, the categorisation and organisation leave a lot to be desired.

In all honesty, there are too many games here. These are simply crammed in to bulk up numbers and this results in many of the best titles being hard to find. They’re there, but I had to search for them.

Payment methods

Having different payment methods is a must if a player is planning on signing up. Ideally, casinos should be offering around eight of the most popular casino payment options in New Zealand. Ritzo casino has ten.

These include card payments such as Mastercard and VISA. There are also prepaid options, eWallets like Skrill, and even cryptocurrencies. Crypto makes up the largest portion of options.

For both deposits and withdrawals, there is a minimum limit of NZ$30 in place. However, there is no information provided for the upper end of these transactions.

Payments rating

86/100 Decent selection of payment methods
  • No fees
  • Fast withdrawals
  • Accepts cryptocurrencies
  • Limited payment information

Again, this is another section where I found a few hits and misses.

Firstly, I have to point out that this is one of the best Paysafe casinos in New Zealand since Paysafe is available for both deposits and withdrawals. However, the payment section isn’t so clear, so Ritzo can do a bit better here.

Now, they do have about 10 payment methods on offer. This is only slightly less than the 11 offered at BetPlays, which is really not that bad at all.

Cryptocurrencies are accepted here, and I think they make up the main portion of the payment methods. I think they’re the best option at this site due to the fast withdrawals.

What I didn’t like here is the lack of any payment information, and the available information wasn’t exactly great. Just like BetandPlay, the minimum deposit and withdrawal limit is NZ$30.

Beyond that, there’s not much else given in the way of payment information. No real timeframes or any maximum limits for deposits and withdrawals, which is disappointing.

Safety, transparency, and reputation

Ritzo casino is licensed by Curacao, which means that there are regulations and requirements in place. Part of this involves having 128-bit SSL encryption as a minimum.

There are no RNG auditing seals visible, but there are three responsible gambling seals. A selection of RG tools is also available to players at this casino. Cooling-off, self-exclusion and deposit limits are all provided.

Safety rating

89/100 Good security but RG tools not comprehensive
  • SSL encryption protocols
  • Fully licensed
  • Account verification required
  • Few responsible gambling tools

I was disappointed to note that there are no auditing seals in place, though there are three RG seals. Woo casino manages to have both, which really bolsters the trust in the site.

While there is a licence, it’s from Curacao, and this isn’t the best one out there. Casumo is licensed with the MGA, which is much more reputable, and I’d like to see a similar set-up for Ritzo.

There is some effort to offer players ways to tackle problem gambling, but I expect to see the full range of tool on offer. This is not the case here. Information isn’t that clearly presented in the responsible gaming section either.

Essentially, you can self-exclude, cool off, or set deposit limits. However, these tools aren’t easy to access, which dampens the efforts in place.

Customer support

Ritzo has various methods for players to reach out to the support team.

First, there is a live chat. This is available 24/7 and offers the fastest response time. It can be found in the left-hand menu, which drops down to reveal the live chat button.

Other options include an email and a contact form. These have a slower turnaround time.

There is an FAQs section as well. This covers some of the commonly asked questions and is a good place for players to start out when they have a query.

Support rating

90/100 Decent selection of support options for all users
  • 24/7 live chat available
  • Email option
  • Easily accessible support
  • FAQs aren’t detailed
  • No phone support

I found that the support options were relatively solid. All of the main options I would expect to see were present.

I was happy to see that the live chat is available 24/7. This is much better than at LeoVegas, whose live chat service operates from 8am to 2am NZDT.

Just like King Billy, Ritzo has an email option available but no phone number. I don’t personally rely on phone support but I prefer to have the option nonetheless.

The FAQs were somewhat limited and did not provide the necessary details I would expect to see.

It took me a while to get a response via live chat, and while this was helpful, I’d like replies to be a bit more timely.

Usability

Ritzo casino has a clear layout with a simple menu along the top outlining pokies, live casino, promotions, and tournaments. This makes it a simple one-click process to visit each section.

Mobile screens displaying Ritzo online casino welcome bonus package and games lobby

Within the games section, there are different categories. This makes it easier to search for a particular type of game.

A search bar is also available. Clicking on it reveals the provider filters.

Usability rating

92/100 A generally effective interface
  • Dark theme
  • Scalable across devices
  • Provider filters
  • Slow load times
  • Not always intuitive
  • Cluttered games lobby

I didn’t find anything inherently wrong with the usability and interface of Ritzo.

I appreciate the dark theme, which is much better than Wildz’s white background. Still, Wildz is more organised and navigable, which is better for all players.

Navigation is easy, but some bits are really cluttered. This is particularly noticeable when it comes to the games section, which has many tiny thumbnails for the games.

Additionally, Ritzo is not the fastest-loading casino. It’s actually slow, a whopping two seconds slower to load than Nitro, which has a sleeker game interface all around.

The main problem is that there are too many things on a page, and some information is not clearly or intuitively available.
