In-depth Bet Nation sportsbook review for 2025
In this Bet Nation review, we’re going to look at all the important features you should consider when choosing where to play. First, we’re going to look at the different sports on offer.
We’re also going to look at the bet types available such as whether there is the option to place a multi bet (there is!) or whether Bet Nation Australia gives you live betting (they don’t!).
We also have a look at the odds to see if you’re going to get your money’s worth. And, we take a look at the support in place should you run into any issues.
Finally, we take a look at the sports payments on offer and the overall usability of the site. This doesn’t just include the desktop version, but any mobile site or app on offer as well.

- Mobile app available
- High basketball odds
- Good racing markets
- No 24/7 support
- Limited sports markets
- No live streaming

Editor's note
This review is based on the operator’s current sports offer in Australia.
Expert verdict
If you’re new to online gambling then, quite frankly, we’re not going to recommend you get started here. This Australian owned site does not have a good reputation right now as it has just been fined. Once this mobile betting site gets its act together a bit more maybe then we will recommend getting a Bet Nation account.
As it stands though, there are not many sports available on this site, though the racing markets are significantly better. If you’re looking for competitive odds, again, look elsewhere as you won’t find them here.
There are some good bet types on offer here, and if you log in, one of the Bet Nation promotions does give you boosted odds, which you’re going to need. However, other features are still absent such as live betting and streaming.
Finally, if you want a user-friendly platform, then this isn’t bad. But there are better desktop and mobile websites out there. At the end of the day, if you don’t want anything fancy, then this could work for you, but we suggest trying other sites first.
Sports and markets at the Bet Nation sportsbook
For all you sports and racing fans out there, the first thing we’re diving into in this Bet Nation bookmaker review is the number of sports betting markets available to you. Top sites will have at least 30 different markets.
This new betting site has started out quite modestly and only has 21 sports on offer. However, this does include a wealth of different racing options such as thoroughbred, harness and greyhound.
Within each sport, the Bet Nation Australia website does its best to include an array of leagues from around the world, not just Australia. Depending on the sport, there are more leagues available for some than others.

There aren’t that many niche or unique markets though. But this could grow in the future as this website begins to establish itself. Read on to find out more in our Bet Nation review.

Sports & markets rating
- Various international leagues available
- Major global leagues
- Lots of racing
- No Aussie rules
- Limited futures betting
Unfortunately, things don’t start off very well for Bet Nation. With just 18 sports this is not an inspiring number of sports or markets on offer here. Though I will say the racing section does meet most of my expectations.
But it’s far from the worst site out there. Let’s not forget that EliteBet offers just 15 sports and a weak racing market, which serves to make Bet Nation look positively packed with options. That being said, for an Aussie site to miss out on Aussie Rules, there should be some form of punishment for that!
However, as I am sure you’re aware, I am about to compare this to bet365 which has 45 different sports and unique markets. As such, Bet Nation really has a lot of work to do and I’m sticking with this low score.
Additional market details: Of course racing in all forms is the top here. It’s also the sport most promoted on the site as well. There’s a ticker tape bar along the top where you can see the upcoming races from around the world. Additionally, there are simple buttons to click between horse, harness and greyhound races.
Additional market details: As far as international sports go, then the biggest one here is basketball. There are also a ton of leagues and events. And, impressively, it’s actually not just about the NBA. You can find leagues from various countries including Europe. This section has some of the best odds too, and a wide range of betting markets, with around 20 markets per game.
Betting features at Bet Nation
So, now you know what sports you can bet on, it’s time to take a look at the betting features you can use to do just that. We always want to see a range of betting products to give you the very best experience.
There is not much in the way of different betting features found on Bet Nation. There is no cashout option at this time, which means you can’t win a bet when the game is still going.
Additionally, there is no live betting or streaming options on the site. You can’t even phone a wager in, it just isn’t offered at all. There are an array of bet types though.

You can use the betting slip and bet builder to create a number of great bets in the form of parlays or multis. If you’re looking for a boost, then keep an eye out for sports and events with a price bump as this means the fixed odds have been increased.
Betting features rating
- Betting tips provided
- Trending bets feature
- No live streaming or betting
- Doesn’t do cashout
I keep trying to be positive, but there’s not much given to me by the site. However, I did like the betting tips section. This provides some helpful hints on upcoming events and opens in a completely new window.
However, missing out on live bets, streams and cashout is a hard blow to take. Especially when you have Dabble offering a myriad of exciting additional features including the chance to bet with friends.
While a lot of sites don’t do live betting, this is very similar to the poorly designed, Bet Deck. And this is not a comparison that Bet Nation will want made. I can’t score higher here, so another poor score. Sorry.
Additional features: Multi-bets are an exciting option for players who want a little more risk in their betting. Essentially, all you do is combine a number of bets into one. Each leg of the bet must come to pass if the bet is to pay out. Obviously, this makes success a lot harder. But, if you do succeed, you’re going to get a bigger payout.
Bet Nation sports betting odds
Checking out the odds of a sportsbook is essential if you want to get good payouts. We always take a look at what each sportsbook offers as we have strict criteria in place.
For instance, the top sportsbooks should have an average percentage payout of 95% or more. An exceptional one will have over 97%. Anything that’s under 93% is not competitive enough and shouldn’t be played at.
Bet Nation has an average payout percentage of 90.88% which is far off the mark when it comes to being competitive. This is really rather low, though some of the sports markets are significantly higher.
Odds facts
Category | Details |
---|---|
Average payout | 90.88% |
Boosted odds | Only as price bump bets |
Parlay boosts | No |
Line movement | Moderate |
Currently, there are no live bets available and this means that we can’t list a payout percentage for these. It’s likely that this will be added in the future. If it is, bear in mind that live payouts tend to be lower than normal ones.
Odds rating
- High NBA odds
- Lower than average odds
So, it’s becoming a trend here at Bet Nation. Once again I have to give a low score and this is for the really low odds on offer here with that average payout percentage of less than 91%. However, some sports do offer higher odds.
Nevertheless, this is significantly off the mark in comparison to other Aussie sites. Most have been around 93-94%, which is acceptable. BlueBet still stands out with the highest average payout percentage of 94.7%. It’s going to be a while before Bet Nation can match that.
To end on a positive though, it doesn’t appear that Bet Nation restricts winners in any way. Not like Neds does, which is something I abhor. Of course, this could occur later on, but for now, it hasn’t.
Payment methods found in our Bet Nation review
When online gambling, it’s very important to have access to a range of different betting options. These should be from reputable providers and give you speedy transactions. Ideally we want to see 10 different options.
Bet Nation has five different options available and these are POLi, PayID, bank transfer, VISA and Mastercard. Only the bank transfer can be used to make any withdrawal requests at this time.
The site has a low minimum deposit limit of just AU$10 per transaction. Similarly, its withdrawal limits are also low sitting at just AU$20 whenever you want to claim a win from the site.

There are no fees in place for any of the transaction options listed on the site. Deposits all take place instantly too, so you can get up and running in no time at all. If you want to get your winnings though, be prepared for a little wait as the bank transfer option means you’re going to have to wait three to five days to see your money.

Payments rating
- No fees in place
- Very speedy deposits
- Good minimum deposit amount
- Only one withdrawal option is provided
- Withdrawals are slow
I’ll start with the good first. I was happy to see a low minimum deposit limit of AU$10. This is great, especially compared to Booki’s minimum of AU$50, which is just too high.
I was equally satisfied with the minimum withdrawal limit of AU$20, although I’d have preferred to see it even lower. And having no fees is just what I expect these days, so no extra points there.
However, just five payment options and one for withdrawals is not enough. There is no choice here whatsoever and for that, I have to score down. Even Sportsbet has 8 options available to players.
Safety features
We will never recommend a site that does not have a licence. Any betting agencies that do not show that they are compliant with the gambling rules of Australia are not going to be reviewed or listed here.
Bet Nation holds a licence from the Northern Territory. It also has a number of wagering partners in other parts of the country where it operates and this includes a strong presence in South Australia.
As evidenced by the locked padlock in the URL, there are SSL encryption protocols in place. However, there is no more information on this on the site so it’s unclear how strong it is.

Safety rating
- Fully licensed
- SSL encryption
- Fined by the Australian government
- Complex responsible gambling section
You may be wondering what’s going on here as this Australian bookmaker appears to have everything in order when it comes to security. And you’d be right to a point. However, at the end of 2022, the operator was fined by the Australian government for advertising Bet Nation promotions to self-excluded players. Looks like those responsible gambling policies don’t mean much to them.
So continuing in this vein, there is a comprehensive section on responsible gambling. However, much like CrossBet, I found this a garbled mass of text without any easy options to actually make use of the protocols.
So it is licensed and it does have SSL encryption protocols in place. But so do other rather lacklustre sites such as Bbet so this is not a great comparison for Bet Nation. In short, until it proves those responsible gambling policies mean something, it’s a low score here from me.
Customer support
Being able to get in touch with a staff member is very important when you choose to play online. An exceptional customer service team needs to operate around the clock and respond in under five minutes.
Bet Nation has three different contact options and these include a live chat, email and phone line. However, these are not available 24/7 and have limited opening hours depending on the day of the week.
If you do use the support, then the chat is the fastest option. It’s manned by real people and will see your query answered, or at least responded to, in under five minutes or so.

However, there is no FAQ or Help section visible on the site and this does mean that you’re forced to get in touch if you have an issue. There are policy sections for responsible gambling and the like, but this is not enough.
Support rating
- Three contact options
- Responsive live chat
- No FAQ or Help
- Limited opening hours
These days, right off the bat I am going to score down if the site doesn’t have 24/7 support, and this is the case right here. Yes, there are three different options, but this isn’t really enough for me to give a higher score.
For instance, Bet Right has four contact options and one of these is Discord, which makes the support that much more accessible. Additionally, having such limited opening hours is just a pain for those of us who like to play later.
I have to say I think my score is merited here as this site is very similar to BetGold. That site also only has three contact options and no FAQ. It’s an unfavourable comparison, so I hope this new Australian owned bookie will do better in the future.
Platform and usability
Once you’ve decided you like the features found on a sportsbook, the next step is to see whether it is actually user-friendly. So, we take a look at the overall design and feel of a website.

The look and feel of the Bet Nation site is crisp and clean. It has a strong blue and white theme that ensures everything is easy to read across the site.
On the left, the list of sports and racing markets are found. You can scroll down to featured events to find something specific. However, there are no filters or search functions in place.

There is a good mobile betting app in place. But the problem here is that it does actually match the main desktop site. This means that all the failings of the desktop version can be found in the app as well.

Platform rating
- Easy to access list of sports
- Clear leagues and events lists
- iOS and Android apps
- Loads slowly
- Dated look and feel
The design is not bad, though the turquoise is a bit glaring and bright. This isn’t just an issue with Bet Nation, but with many other sites too. I’d really love to see dark mode become more of an option.
I am not going to beat around the bush here. It’s a slow-loading site that’s just not pretty. In short, it’s not a patch on Unibet with its excellent UI and design.
I guess I can say that at least there is an app in place. WinnersBet doesn’t have one at all, though its mobile site possibly works better than Bet Nation’s mobile site does.
FAQs
Is Bet Nation legit?
Yes, Bet Nation is a legit site. It holds a licence from NTRC. In addition to this, it also has a number of approved wagering partners that include providers from South Australia such as Racing NSW as well as some providers from Western Australia. It is a new bookie though, and still trying to find its feet so you won’t find all the same options here as some of the more established bookies.
Is Bet Nation Australian?
Yes, Bet Nation is Australian owned. It is operated by Amused Australia, not by PlayUP Interactive Pty Ltd or by IRPSX Pty Ltd. Unfortunately, even though this site, like all other Australian bookmakers, has to follow Australian law, it has not done so and has already been fined. This is because it advertised various Bet Nation promotions to Australian punters that had self-excluded. Despite being a new bookie, there is no excuse for putting Aussie punters through this.
Who is Bet Nation owned by?
Bet Nation is Australian owned. The company behind the site is Amused Australia. The site is available around the country in both North and South Australia. As far as betting agencies go, this one still needs quite a bit of work in order to bring it up to the standard of some of the other sites. It still has a limited number of betting markets available though these do include the National Rugby League, Australian Football League and greyhound racing.
How long do Bet Nation withdrawals take?
Withdrawals at Bet Nation are a little slow. Currently, the only withdrawal method available to players is by using bank transfer. The reason for this slowness is that any withdrawal request has to go through multiple layers of security before a transaction is approved. Because of this, withdrawing your prize money can take anywhere from 3 to 5 days. As such, it’s not very user-friendly but it is very safe and secure.
Does Bet Nation have an app?
Yes, there is a Bet Nation app for you to download. This mobile betting app is available for both iOS and Android devices and can be downloaded from their respective app stores. The mobile betting site has the same features as the desktop version. This means you can access the same trending bets, bet slip and betting markets as the main site.
