Editor's note
This review is based on the operator’s current sports offer in Australia.
Expert verdict
Overall, BlueBet Australia has a rather solid, if at times, lacklustre interface. For starters though, there are 25 sports betting options for you, which puts this site squarely average and a little below what we’d like to see.
However, despite not being able to advertise BlueBet promotions, BlueBet account holders do get access to a wide array of options including a daily BlueBoost, same game and multi refunds, Moneyback specials, Early payouts and more.
Elsewhere, the site still has issues as many areas of the desktop site itself don’t actually work. And, even though there is in-play betting, you can’t actually see any of the odds. Instead, you have to phone an operator and get a quote from them.
In other areas, BlueBet offers a pretty good service. Support is available 24/7 and the BlueBet customer service team was prompt and helpful. There is a range of BlueBet bet types including same game multis, margin betting and handicaps. Finally, there is a BlueBet app available, no daily deposit limits and decent odds.
Sports and markets at BlueBet sportsbook
Kicking things off, we take a look at the sports on offer at any betting site we review. This is a good place to start as you need to know what your choices are for using any BlueBet promo code.
The best sportsbook sites will have at least 30 different sports on offer. BlueBet is somewhat shy of that with only 25 sports covered, though overall this is a solid number.
As other BlueBet reviews have also noted, there are a number of excellent leagues and events within each of these sports. Domestic and international leagues are all on offer from many different sports.

- No niche sports
When you join BlueBet, the first thing you will see is the BlueBet deposit bonus, which is only accessible after signing up. You can then see all the different sports which are listed down the left.
I will say that 25 sports is not great, but neither is it terrible. In fact, I’ve put BlueBet squarely average here because at least it beats EliteBets’s paltry 15 sports betting markets.
On top of that, BlueBet has a good selection of Aussie sports. Noticeably it does a whole lot better than Bet Nation, which lacks Aussie Rules. That is just a big no when it comes to an Australian bookmaker!
Additional market details: BlueBet offers the Australian punter access to an enormous selection of horse racing betting options. In fact, there’s plenty going on here with a strong focus on Australian thoroughbred races complete with quick links for favourite runners and other racing markets down the left. Both Australian and International venues are here alongside a strong selection of greyhound racing and harness racing markets.
Additional market details: Basketball is particularly popular here and has a large number of different bet types available. A quick link to the NBA can be found in the popular sports section. There is an array of bet types here with some of the popular options including various props and futures.
Betting features at BlueBet
On top of a decent BlueBet withdrawal time, there are other betting features that we like to look at when reviewing a new sportsbook. These extra features are integral in providing a good betting experience.
The first of the top betting features found here is the ability to cash out. This can be done early, but only on some of the horse racing markets available. It does mean you can claim a win before the event is officially concluded.
A strong betting slip and bet builder is present so you can create those same game and same race multi bets very easily. You can do this on the app too. Check out our BlueBet app review below for more on this.

Although no BlueBet promotions can be advertised, as per Aussie gaming laws, you can enjoy some in-play betting. This has to be done via the phone though. Live streaming is available through racing.com. However, this is only for thoroughbred horse races in Victoria and South Australia and there are no other betting features such as a BlueBet mates betting option.
Betting features rating
- Live phone betting
- Cashout on some sports
- Very limited live streaming
There isn’t a great deal in the way of fun betting features here when you bet with Blue Bet. At least there’s nothing that I would call unique. Nevertheless, all the main options are here, which is why I gave this betting site a middle score.
While BlueBet does offer cashout, it’s only available on some sports markets, mostly racing according to the FAQ. There is in-play betting too and, unlike many Australian betting sites, there is very limited live streaming, which did add a point or two to my score. Overall, it’s a far better set of features than Bbet, which has no cashout, live betting or streaming.
I found that BlueBet is similar to PlayUp in that you have to phone to get live bets placed. It’s better than nothing, but I am not a fan of having to rely on the operator to tell me the odds. I’d like to be able to place live bets myself in the app in the future.
Additional features: Multi-bets are great if you want to take things a little further with your betting. These bet types allow you to combine more than one bet into one. Each leg of the bet must come to pass though, otherwise the whole bet fails. Higher risk, but it’s also a higher reward. Depending on the multi, you can combine bets across sports, or within the same event.
BlueBet sports betting odds
As odds are the crux of gambling online, it’s important that you have access to the maximum odds you can. This means we need to look at the average payout percentages of each site as, apart from fixed odds, the maximum odds will keep fluctuating.
For a good site, we want to see anything from 95% to 97% the latter hitting high scores and excellent marks from us. If betting sites offer less than 93% then we’re not going to recommend them.
At BlueBet, you can find an average payout percentage of 94.7%, which is incredibly close to our bottom line of 95%. In fact, some sports do exceed this, notably events in the NBA and NFL among others.

Though not listed, typically, live betting odds do drop a couple of percentage points below the listed odds for traditional betting. That being said, with such high odds here, it’s likely that the live odds will be above average too.
Odds rating
- Top odds available for selected sports
- Racing has competitive fixed odds
- Sports odds pages slow to load
- Live odds aren’t listed
I have to say, you can colour me impressed here. I’ll be the first person to admit it, I wasn’t expecting that if I bet with Blue Bet I’d find some of the highest odds in the Aussie market here, but I did, hence the high score.
I thought Dabble was doing well at just over 94%, but BlueBet actually does fractionally better here. Although I can’t speak for the live odds, I have high hopes the same is true there as well.
Additionally, BlueBet emphatically beats out Neds and by default Bookmaker, BetStar and Ladbrokes too. I had thought these betting sites, which are all under the same company, would have been able to compete more effectively when faced with a small bookie, but no. Good for BlueBet!
Payment methods found in our BlueBet review
Often overlooked, you also need to check out the betting payment methods provided, especially if you are looking to sign up and claim a possible BlueBet bonus down the line. We generally like to see 10 options or more here.
The payment options BlueBet offers include POLi, PayPal, BPAY, debit cards, bank transfers and even direct deposits at NAB branches. There are six options in total though and not all of them can be used to withdraw.
When it comes to deposits, you can make a deposit of AU$10 to get started. There are no daily limits either, which is perfect for high rollers.

Depending on which payment method you use, deposits are instant. That being said, options like bank transfer or BPay can take up to 48 hours to process.
The minimum withdrawal is AU$10 as well. There’s no maximum on withdrawals specified, and there are no fees on both deposits and withdrawals. Withdrawals also take place relatively speedily, taking anywhere from one to three days.

- No fees

- No daily deposit limits
- Limited number of withdrawal options
- Withdrawals take up to 3 days
I will say that I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of information provided for each payment method here. This was right on par with bet365 so I really enjoyed it.
Being able to clearly see deposit limits and timeframes for each individual option gives players all they need to make the right decision. I would have liked to see the same level of detail when viewing the withdrawal options though.
However, I still had to mark this section down simply for the small number of options provided. It’s really got nothing on the likes of BetStar with 10 different options, though direct deposits are always a welcomed sight.
Safety features
Staying safe when you access the Blue Bet app or desktop site is a must when playing online. That’s why we never recommend playing at any site that doesn’t have a licence.
BlueBet has a licence from the Northern Territory, which means it has to follow their regulations when it comes to operating a betting site. Additionally, the site abides by Australian laws and does not advertise any BlueBet offer on the main page.
There is some information regarding a BlueBet bonus code in the FAQs, and the site simply states you must log in to your account in order to see if there are any BlueBet bonus offers available to you.

The sportsbook also makes sure that there are strong responsible gambling policies in place. These can be clearly found through links in the footer. Better still, the site clearly gives you access and help on using them all too.

- Fully licensed
- Excellent responsible gambling policies
- Player data protected
- No SSL details
Another criteria and another tick in the box for BlueBet. Once again, I was very happy with the offering here, though there’s nothing really above and beyond in terms of the licencing.
There are SSL encryption protocols in place both on the desktop and the BlueBet Android app, but I couldn’t find any details on the specifics. I am going to guess that while they are probably good, they will not be on a level with Ladbrokes and its high SSL encryption of 2046-bit.
That being said, the site has a great responsible gambling section. It’s clear and understandable. All the required features are easy to implement unlike the nightmare that is CrossBet so I was happy to score up here.
Customer support
An important feature of any betting site is being able to access support in a timely fashion. Ideally we want to see three options and at least one of them available 24/7.
BlueBet actually has four options including live chat, email, phone and a fax option. The live chat is available around the clock as are the phone lines for support and betting.
The live chat has a very fast response time and the staff manning it are not only real people, but also very friendly and helpful. The chat is sticky and there’s no need to log in to your BlueBet account to access it.

On-page support | FAQs and help section |
There’s a very strong FAQ and Help section. Both of these sections provide a wealth of different bits of information and answers. Bettors will be able to find what they need without needing to get in touch with a staff member.
Support rating
- Helpful and efficient staff
- Chat responds in under 1 minute
- 24/7 support
- Excellent FAQ section
I have to say that I have nothing much to complain about in terms of the support. All the information is available on the BlueBet app as well as the desktop site. But I guess I am picky, so, in the future, I’d like socials added to the mix, perhaps in favour of the rather archaic fax option.
Overall, it comes as no surprise to hear that the support here is far better than Bet Deck, which has minimal support and very limited opening hours. Everything is available 24/7. And, when I reached out to the chat, I received an answer in under a minute!
I was happy to see that the FAQ and help sections were great and offered a lot of information. It was all very detailed. This puts it far above BetGold, which doesn’t even have an FAQ to consult. This was a definite improvement on some of the other areas of this site.
Platform and usability
For our reviews, we also look at the usability of a site. It doesn’t matter if there are BlueBet bonus codes or a great BlueBet offer if you can’t join BlueBet easily, and if the site isn’t completely user-friendly, then you’re not going to have a good time.
The main site looks great and has a nice blue and white theme. This is translated across to the BlueBet app, which also keeps the same branding across all areas consistently.
There are no sports filters in place, but there is a search function. Additionally, there are quick link buttons to top events or sports. However, these don’t always work and can take time loading.

Additionally, once going into a section such as the FAQ, it doesn’t appear possible to click directly on the sports links on the left. Instead, you have to navigate back to the home page and start the process all over again.
Play on devices
Platform rating
- Has many issues with pages
- Mobile apps available
- Easy sports layout
- Many links don’t work
- Unable to see odds from sports menu
Although it looks good, this is actually a nightmare of a site to navigate. From the outset, I was unable to access any of the different sports when I clicked on the name. The BlueBet racing section worked perfectly though – go figure!
Instead, all I get is a spinning blue circle and a small bit of information about the sport. Eventually, the odds do pop up. This really doesn’t work for me, and I tried various browsers and devices, all to no avail. This site can’t be compared to Unibet’s excellent platform, where everything worked perfectly.
That being said, the BlueBet app does seem to work better than the desktop version. You can simply sign in to your BlueBet account and use either the app or the mobile site to much better effect. The app takes points over the slow Sportsbet app at least. Still, this is the worst feature of this sportsbook.
FAQs
Is BlueBet any good?
Yes, and no. There are a number of things that the BlueBet website does very well, but then there are other less great features. For starters, there are 25 different sports betting markets in place. Additionally, if you log in to your BlueBet account, you can find various BlueBet promotions to help boost your betting experience. However, there is limited live streaming available and many areas of the BlueBet website don’t work.
How long does it take to withdraw from BlueBet?
Withdrawing from BlueBet really does depend on the payment method you have chosen. Generally, you can expect to get a payout anywhere from 1 day to 5 days after you request your winnings. BlueBet customers that use PayPal will get their funds within a day. But bank transfers will take a lot longer. The process is the same whether you are on the desktop version of the BlueBet website, or whether you are using the BlueBet app.
Who owns BlueBet Australia?
BlueBet Australia is owned by BlueBet Pty Ltd. This is an Australian company and, as such, is licensed within the country by the NTRC. Rugby AU is listed as an approved betting partner here as are a number of other sports federations. BlueBet customers can relax knowing they are in safe hands as the site and the Bluebet mobile app are both fully secure, protecting your data from falling into the wrong hands.
Can you cash out on BlueBet?
Yes, you can cash out at BlueBet Australia. However, BlueBet offers cashouts on selected racing singles and multi-bets fixed odds betting only. This means that you can’t request early BlueBet cash outs on other sports such as football or rugby or on the futures markets. The feature is available for any Australian punter to use whether accessing the site via the desktop version or on the BlueBet betting app.
Can you bet live on BlueBet?
Yes, you can enjoy in-play betting on most of the sports markets offered here. However, it is not possible to place bets on these betting markets yourself. Instead, you will need to get in touch via phone to place a live bet. Because of this, you can’t see any of the live betting odds on the site, but have to rely on the odds provided by the operator when you call through.
