Expert verdict
Unfortunately, this is far from the strongest sportsbook out there. If we’re honest, this is a new bookie and it really shows. Much of the site frankly feels unfinished as there is a lot of information completely absent.
It wouldn’t be too bad, but there is no FAQ in place at all. Additionally, no info is provided regarding when the customer service team is actually active. Combine this with a lack of cashout and other betting features and it’s not very player-friendly.
That being said, there is a decent CrossBet racing section that also has the CrossBet TV in place. This allows you to live stream some of the top races available for domestic markets, but you can’t place live wagers.
You can also access the app either via your desktop or using the CrossBet app. This is compatible with all devices so you can place your wagers when on the go. In short, there are better sites out there.

First things first. There’s no CrossBet promo code available as it is not possible to advertise a sign up bonus for new customers or any other promotion in Australia. It is therefore very important to check out all the available sports and markets.
The best sites have at least 30 different sports on offer. At CrossBet, there are only 20 available. But, there is a very big horse racing section complete with international races.

For this CrossBet review, we found that for several sports, including popular Australian ones, the range of leagues and tournaments offered was restricted. Nevertheless, there was some coverage of domestic and international markets for most of the sports covered.

I have to say, like other CrossBet reviews, I was shocked somewhat by the lack of racing and sports betting market diversity. Football betting is the big winner here with one of the more diverse collections of bets on offer. Taking precedence over Aussie rules and the like is not something I expect to see at Australian bookmakers.
Just like Bookmaker, there are no eSports available on CrossBet. However, this is where I will end the similarities as the selection of sporting markets on CrossBet leaves a lot to be desired.
I am really not impressed with just 20 different sports. Almost all the other bookmakers have more than this. However, there are sites that far outstrip CrossBet in this department, with one of the obvious ones being Unibet with over 40 options. I just can’t give CrossBet a high score here.
Additional market details: Football is actually incredibly popular on this site. There are strong futures markets here as well as over 20 different events to choose from. Within the football section are some 40+ markets per match, which is vastly better than most of the other sports found here.
Additional market details: Unsurprisingly, horse racing is also very popular here. There are a huge number of races on offer. You can even hit up the CrossBet TV to watch some of them live. There are an inordinate number of different wagers available too.
Betting features
Different betting features really help to elevate an online betting site, which means we always take the time to look at the different options. Having an array of betting products is the best way of giving you a good experience.
When you start betting, there’s a simple bet builder in place allowing you to make same game multis, parlays and the like. You can also use the betting slip to create and place a single bet.
The site doesn’t offer early cashout options though. Nor does it appear to offer any live betting options across any of the sporting categories it offers. However, there is the option to live stream some of the races.

At the bottom of the home page you can find a number of trending bets displayed. However, these do tend to be focused on horse racing. That being said, it’s always good to be able to see what other players are interested in for both the racing and sports betting markets.

Overall, this section was rather disappointing. It’s very hard to navigate around and a lot of the features are unavailable to new customers unless you sign up for an account. No window shopping before you commit and start betting here and I don’t like that.
Despite missing out on some of the core features I’d like to see at a bookmaker, CrossBet still offers different multis, futures and some early markets. In contrast to this, BoomBet offers none of these so I am giving points to CrossBet here.
CrossBet also has its own TV channel where you can watch some of the horse racing events live. This is found as a sticky tab on the bottom left of each page so you can always find it. I did like this feature which put it in front of EliteBet, which has no live streaming at all although neither of them has live betting.
Additional features: Same game or same race multis are a great way to bring in the action. Just combine a number of different wagers from the same sporting event into one bet. Then when all of the different legs come to pass, your bet will pay out. It’s a high risk, but there is the chance for a high reward here, making it popular.
Sports betting odds
Being able to access top-quality odds is a must when playing online. After all, this is the way that you can win. Poor odds will mean your experience is not as good in the long run.
To check this, we look to see what the average payout percentages are for each site. Top sites will have average payout percentages in the 95-97% range. Anything under 93% is going to get a low score from us.
CrossBet has a payout percentage of just over 94%, which isn’t too bad. There are no payout percentages for live bets though as you cannot place this type of bet when playing online.

Some of the higher payout percentages come from both basketball and football. Horse racing also typically has competitive odds across the board. However, ice hockey has some of the worst here at CrossBet.

I was somewhat surprised to see that this online bookmaker actually pulled itself up here. The odds on display are pretty average, so they’re not going to be competing with the big sites any time soon. Of course, promotions such as Specials with boosted odds will pull that percentage up higher, but you’ll have to log in to take advantage of any CrossBet offer.
With an average payout percentage of just over 94%, I will say that this does actually match a large number of bookmakers out there. And, in fact, it puts some like WinnersBet to shame – that site is still sadly sporting the worst percentages out there.
I will say that there do seem to be better odds depending on the type of bet you place. And, there doesn’t appear to be any type of winning restrictions in place as there is with Neds, so this is another reason it didn’t score too badly here.

Really, this bookie is very much at the lower end of the scale of what I expect in terms of payment options and my score reflects this. Four payment methods to deposit and withdraw funds is just not enough.
I’m happy to see that the payment methods offered are probably the safest and most secure methods out there. But I do like to have a bit more choice. Even zBet beats out CrossBet with five options in place.
Add to this the complete lack of any information regarding the transaction limits, and I was not going to be happy. Although there’s an AU$10 minimum deposit, the top withdrawal limit seems to be stuck at a paltry AU$10,000. When you’ve got bet365 providing detailed payment information and a top withdrawal of AU$200,000, this just doesn’t match up.

I did give this an average score as the basics are there. But there’s not much information provided. I was quite horrified by the confusing mess of a responsible gambling page – a wad of text with no clear links to self-exclusion or the ability to set bet limits.
I discovered that CrossBet tries to push responsible gambling with a banner along the top, which does make it stand out somewhat. So this was nice to see. That being said, it’s not really that much extra as most Australian bookmakers such as Dabble, take even more steps and provide a very clear way to use their safe gambling protocols.
While it is obvious by the padlock sign in the URL that CrossBet does have SSL encryption in place, I was unable to find any information on it. Suffice it to say, I’m sure it’s not at the level of BetStar with its excellent 2046-bit encryption.

Being able to get in touch with someone at a sportsbook is a must. Top sites should have a least three different payment options and, these days, we really expect players to be given 24/7 support.
CrossBet does offer three support options in the form of a live chat, email and phone line. However, there are limited opening hours as indicated via the live chat though it’s unclear exactly what these are.

Generally, I was incredibly disappointed here. It is very clear that players do not feature very highly when it comes to this bookie. There’s a distinct lack of any helpful features anywhere on the site and I am not a fan.
Although there are three options listed, the live chat is down for large sections of the day and the phone is only to get an email response. It’s got nothing on Bet Right, which has four contact options including Discord.
As I touched upon, there is no mention of the support hours. Clearly they’re not 24/7 as I tried to get in touch via live chat only to get a message saying to check back later when they were online. No additional info. Very impersonal and resulted in a lower score. If BlueBet offers 24/7 support, why can’t CrossBet.
Platform and usability
While a site can have an array of excellent bet options, if the interface itself is not user-friendly, then you’re not going to have a good time playing here. So, let’s see what CrossBet has to offer.

I wasn’t really impressed with the overall layout and design of the site. And this is clearly reflected in my score. In fact, it’s the lowest-scored section in this whole review.
First, the navigation is just not that straightforward. Each of the main info sections are very lacklustre with minimal information provided. And, just like Bbet it’s hard to find all the things I want quickly and easily.
The lack of any search bar or filters is also frustrating. While the app matches the desktop, it would actually be better if it didn’t! At least the apps work well and don’t slow down when you try to do too much which is the issue with Sportsbet’s app.
