This review is based on the operator’s current sports offer in Australia.
Expert verdict
This sportsbook has been around for some time in Australia and it really shows. TopSport offers players nearly 30 different sports and horse racing markets so that you can choose what to bet on with ease.
The TopSport betting experience is also a great one thanks to the very easy-to-use TopSport mobile app that’s available for both Android and iOS devices. The app and TopSport mobile website both offer the same features as the main one.
If there is a downside, it’s that there are not many TopSport payment methods on offer. Specifically, you can really only withdraw using EFT which is limiting, though hopefully this will change in the future.
Elsewhere, TopSport offers an excellent set of racing markets, great customer support and a wealth of different bonus bets that can be found in your betting account.
Sports and markets at the TopSport sportsbook
TopSport Australia has a good selection of sports on offer which is essential if you’re going to have fun online. Ideally, 30 or more sports is considered a good betting site.
TopSport is just shy of this with 26 sports. These cover popular sports in Australia such as rugby league, cricket betting, Australian racing and Aussie rules football.
Other globally popular sports are here too, such as American football, football, tennis and motorsport. All of these can be found on the TopSport app as well as on the main TopSport website.

Sports & markets rating
- Excellent racing markets
- Australian leagues available
- Limited eSports
As there’s no advertising permitted of the TopSport sign up bonus, you will need to make an account to get the TopSport promotions. Aside from this, I found that TopSport offers a solid number of sports.
With 29 on offer, it’s not far below what I expect top sites to bring to the table. And of course it easily beats Elitebet which only has 15 sports, hence my significantly higher score.
I really only docked points because it’s not quite at the heights of Bet365 with 45+ sports. And, the TopSport website does lack some depth in the niche and novelty sports sections, but I am sure this will change in the future.
Additional market details: Without a doubt, horse racing is one of the top options here. There are many international racing options at this official bookmaker as well as domestic and NZ options. You can bet on events like the Spring Racing Carnival or Saturday Metro racing with ease.
Additional market details: Another top option, unsurprisingly in Australia, is cricket. There are T20 matches, IPL games and a whole lot more besides. Better still, there are some great market-leading odds for cricket as well on both the TopSport mobile app and website.
Betting features at TopSport
Not only should the TopSport mobile have good betting features, but the site as a whole should as well. This means ensuring that you’ve got a strong betting platform to enjoy.
First, TopSport has a great bet slip that can be used to create a range of different bets. You can add more than one bet to this slip to create your own accumulators or parlays.
If you are live betting (this is an option across a number of different sports), you can also cash out so that you can avoid major losses if things don’t look like they are going your way.

However, while TopSport withdrawal times are acceptable, and this includes live betting, there is no live streaming on offer. Live betting must be done over the phone.
Betting features rating
- Easy betting slip available
- Cash out offered
- High stakes
- No live streaming
This is a solid category for TopSport and contains most of the features I have come to expect when playing at an online sports betting service.
Similar to Pointsbet there is no live streaming here. However, Pointsbet does just squeak ahead here as it makes up for it with more unique betting options in the form of spread betting.
There’s nothing specifically unique here, not when you look at Dabble which also offers follow your friends, copy bet and so much more in the way of social betting. This is why I wasn’t able to give such a high score.
Additional features: Excitingly, TopSport website does offer protest payouts. The TopSport protest payout means that if you place bets on the first and second horse in a TopSport horse racing event, the sportsbook pays both selections as winners if there is a protest for first place. As such, TopSport offers players the chance to score a win even if the final outcome is unclear.
TopSport sports betting odds
When it comes to betting online, the most important thing is to have good odds. As odds are constantly changing, we look at the percentage payout to determine whether the sportsbook offers competitive odds or not.
Ideally, payout percentages from 95% to 97% are the bestmarket-leading. TopSport is just short of that with 94.94% payout percentage which still indicates high market leading odds.
Some sports such as cricket are much higher than others. However, even though sports like ice hockey and football are lower, they offer payouts around the 94% mark.
Odds facts
Category | Details |
---|---|
Average payout | 94.94% |
Boosted odds | Yes |
Parlay boosts | Yes |
Line movement | Moderate |
The live betting odds drop down to 93.6% which is to be expected. All live odds are lower than those for pre-game bets on upcoming sports matches.
Odds rating
- Good fixed odds
- High cricket odds
- Lower live betting odds
I always find odds are a tricky one to cover as they do change all the time. That being said, I think the TopSport fixed odds markets are pretty good here, hence my score.
In fact, TopSport is similar to Sportsbet with 94.4% odds. However, this sportsbook doesn’t ban players like Sportsbet has been known to do. And this, subsequently, puts it ahead in my book.
TopSport also favourably compares to Unibet which has live payouts of around 92%. In contrast, TopSport actually does a percentage point better which is why I’ve opted for a solid 80s score.
Payment methods in our TopSport review
Often, players will overlook the importance of having numerous payment methods available. At TopSport, there are six different options to find your TopSport betting account. All these options can also be used on the TopSport app.
There are many deposit options including debit and credit card options as well as Australian-based payments like POLi and BPAY, though both of these can be slower.
Unfortunately, there are no eWallet options on offer here. And, you can only withdraw with EFT at the moment, which is a bit limiting when it comes to withdrawing any winnings.

Average deposit time | Instant |

The speed of deposits does depend on the payment method, but if you’re using cards, then this will occur instantly. POLi for example, can take 24 hours to process. As only EFT is available for withdrawals, payouts take a lot longer to clear. There are no fees in place for any transaction though, but you will need to check this from your bank’s side.
Payments rating
- Speedy deposits
- No maximum limits
- High stakes accepted
- Only one withdrawal option
This was definitely the most disappointing category on the TopSport website, as I would have expected more options from a site that’s been around so long in the industry.
While TopSport has six options, Neds has nine payment methods. What makes Neds better here is the inclusion of eWallet options such as PayPal. Not having any eWallets at TopSport is a bit of a downer for me, which is why I took points off.
That being said, it’s still much better than BuddyBet which just has two different card payment methods. At least here I can get Australian payments and there are no upper limits in place.
Safety features
As you’re handing over your private and personal details to the sportsbook, you need to know that everything is kept safe and secure at all times. This is the case both on the TopSport Android app and on the main site.
TopSport is licensed in South Australia as well as New South Wales. These licences and codes of compliance can be found in the footer of the main desktop site.
SSL encryption protocols are employed to ensure your data can’t be accessed by third parties. While there are no specific details, the evidence is clear in the locked padlock icon found in the URL.

Again, I am not going to complain too much here as this is a solid effort from TopSport. All the required security features are in place, I guess I just want a little more for it to get an exceptional score.
First, TopSport is licensed but unusually not with NTRC which is where most Aussie and foreign owned Australian bookmakers are licensed. Just look at Ladbrokes for instance.
Part of the reason for the good score is that it definitely complies with responsible gambling, unlike Bet Nation which has been fined for failing to do so. I just would like to see more in-depth security information to give it a truly high score. foreign-owned
Customer support
No matter how good a site is, there should always be support of some kind on offer. Ideally, we like to see three or more options, one of which should be available 24/7.
Both the TopSport app and desktop have access to three different support options. First, there is the live chat available 24/7 and found in a sticky blue bubble on the bottom right of each page.
Email is also available for round-the-clock support. There are two phone lines, one for help and one for those who want to bet live in play sport events.

Additionally, there is an FAQ on offer, though this isn’t as comprehensive as other sites. You can also get in touch by contacting the TopSport app via Facebook and Twitter.
Support rating
- 24/7 live chat
- Phone line
- Speedy response time
- Limited FAQs
I couldn’t help but give an excellent score to the TopSport app and desktop for the great selection of support options I found here. With three different options, it’s up there with the best.
If I am really quibbling, there may be three strong options at TopSport, but this is just the same as at Bet Right. And Bet Right still manages to outdo TopSport because it also throws Discord into the mix.
Points were lost because I found the FAQ to be lacklustre and limited, but at least it has one which is more than can be said for Crossbet, which has a very limited FAQ.
Platform and usability
Finally, it’s important the site overall is easy to use, intuitive and navigable for all player types. As such, we look at the app and desktop versions for this score.
First, there is a TopSport Android app as well as one for iOS devices. Both can be downloaded from their respective stores – the Google Play Store and the App Store. Links to these are in the footer of the desktop site.
The app and desktop are built along the same lines with matching design and theme. As such, there’s no learning curve if you choose to switch between the two. Simply use your TopSport sign in to get access on any device.

All the sports are available across all platforms. You can even find racing such as harness racing and greyhound racing in their own categories within the main facebook. It’s all very easy to navigate through.

Platform rating
- Good filters
- Mobile compatible
- Easy navigation
- Slightly dated look
- Lots of white space
I have to say, once again I was very happy with what I was offered here. First, I could claim all TopSport’s fantastic prices on events like the Saturday Metro racing from both app and desktop.
I also liked that finding specific events was made very easy as there are filters unlike GetSetBet. But, TopSport does lack a search bar which would be a nice addition in the future.
The mobile betting apps can be downloaded from their respective stores, not like Palmerbet which, though a better design, has apps only downloadable from its own site. As such, TopSport offers a much more secure-feeling platform all round.
