The journey so far
It’s been a hell of a ride to get to where we are today. What began as an idea between three friends to be the lighthouse of iGaming became one of the fastest-growing casino sites in the world. Check out how it happened below.
July 2020
Kay, Feda and Tim – the founders of Time2play Media – started deep discussions on how they could truly live up to being the lighthouse of the iGaming industry. The term BHAG was thrown around – the Big Hairy Audacious Goal.
September 2020
The founders then invited the Head of Product at KaFe Rocks (at the time), Alex, to discuss the BHAG. The outcome was the need to create a single, massive, honest iGaming brand. A website built on trust and on serving the users, not the other way around. Creating a brand that people worldwide could put their faith in.
December 2020 – March 2021
We worked with a design agency and the brand matured into Time2play. At the same time, discussions were held internally at KaFe Rocks in terms of how to go about the project. It was decided that it needed to be quite separate from the existing business. A new business unit was to be founded by April.
April 2021
Time2play kicked off with a small group of key players. The first hires were made from outside of KaFe Rocks with a focus on Tech and Product. Massive hiring began as Tech started working on turning the designs into something real for our users. We launched Time2play.com in the US shortly after.
July 2021
We launched our proprietary Playscore and Expert rating — a game-changer for the industry, allowing us to use real data to review and score each casino. We built more pages, create more content, and continued to build a product to serve our users.
September 2021
World domination began. We released Time2play in our first markets outside of the US: the Netherlands, Italy, and Switzerland. We hired international teams to produce world-class content for audiences across Europe.
May 2022
World domination takes no breaks. As we already established markets in nine countries, we continued to launch markets in Chile, Mexico, and Colombia. Time2play is now on three continents.
November 2023
After two years of rapid growth, Time2play Media is acquired by Gaming Innovation Group (GiG). Time2play maintains its iconic brand and operations under new management.
