High 5 casino review

This is a solid start from High 5 Casino, but I would like to see more game diversity here. After all, this social casino did win the EGR best sweepstakes casino for two years in a row (that’s 2023 and 2024). 

That being said, I was pleased to see that High 5 is working on increasing its 280+ game offer. Most of these are slots and that can be a bit of a drag.

There is some representation for other game types, such as first-person blackjack and roulette, but there are only 20 titles to choose from so far. As for slingo, the advertising is there, but the games seem to be locked for entry-level players.

I did like the fact that there are some jackpots too, which puts High 5 ahead of WOW Vegas and on par with Fortune Coins. The catch is that many of the games you can play here are limited by your loyalty level, which I found frustrating. You can see them, but you can’t play them. 

When you do start playing though, the games cycle through well and can earn you some gold coins, which is always nice to see. Still, High 5 loses out considerably in sheer quantity; McLuck’s sweeps casino, for example, is considered a small brand but it offers nearly 1,000 games with no gatekeeping involved.

This is a bit of a complex area for me to judge. It’s clear at this point that High 5 Casino really is here to promote High 5 Casino games, and I also understand that. 

The problem I have with this is that as an online casino, you should be aiming to offer an interesting and diverse game collection to your players. And this just isn’t happening here. 

As I mentioned earlier, the games are a bit samey, which is hardly a surprise given they’re mostly from the same provider. At McLuck, there are 19 software providers so I could switch from Slotopia to 3 Oaks Gaming or Novomatic.

In good news, there are games from Pragmatic Play and NetEnt. This does serve to bring in a little fresh air and stir things up a bit, but the overall result remains lacking.

Okay so I did give this a relatively high score simply because there is such a low minimum first deposit requirement. If you do choose to buy coins, you don’t have to spend a lot of money. 

There are only four payment methods available for real money purchases, but these include various card payments, Interac and PayPal, which is enough for me. 

Any payment you make is very quick too and the coins are awarded into your account right away so that you can play any game you choose. 

That being said, I also understand the lack of options as this is a free casino after all. Savvy players will simply stock up on free coins earned from the daily wheel and other methods rather than use real money. 

At the end of the day, you only need to use real money options if you want to get cash prizes. You can’t withdraw money once deposited either, so it gives you time to consider your options.

I guess overall, there’s not that much to complain about as all the main requirements for a Canadian sweepstake casino are met. 
Player data is protected well via 256-bit encryption, which is the same as Fortune Coins. High 5 also beats out this social casino by holding licences where Fortune Coins does not. 

Part of me likes the speedy registration process, but there are flaws here. You don’t need to verify your account as you can make an account by using your Facebook or Google accounts. 

This also means that you don’t need to provide any banking details either when setting up your account. And, they won’t be saved by the casino as you may never use them at all if you play for free only. 
Despite some areas lacking, I still gave a good high score here. After all, with 30 million players and licencing that’s not actually required by a social casino, it’s doing more than most.

I was glad to see that High 5 Casino has a mobile app. I also found that it actually works better than the desktop site. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still cluttered and a bit confusing, but it doesn’t take anywhere near as long to load up if you want to start playing.

Both platforms still offer the same welcome bonus and other promotions are available too. Loyal players can join the VIP program, claim more rewards, and unlock additional games as they play. 

As this mobile browser version matches the desktop, some of the issues do carry over. Namely, the browser version does suffer from slow load times as well. In the same way, games are locked on the desktop version, they are locked on mobile too. There are still plenty of games to play for free and have fun though. 

However, this is still an exceptional effort from a social site and I can’t help but give it a high score. I guess I also like the fact that the app is downloadable from Amazon as well.

I can’t say that I was overly impressed with this section of High 5 Casino. Yes, there is 24/7 support, but it’s not the easiest to find. 
On the surface, there is no Contact Us button anywhere. Instead, I had to venture into the somewhat messy help section to find an embedded form I could use. 

It feels a bit of a cheat to use this form as 24/7 support though, as it doesn’t have instant response times meaning you are going to have to wait if you have a query. 

For me, the best option here is the Discord channel, but that’s not even properly manned by High 5 either as it is more a player community. It’s a bit of a cop out from High 5 Casino’s end I think.
 
While there is information on the welcome bonus and rewards, a lot of it is very confusing, particularly when you try reading through the rules. Quite unhelpful if I am honest, I just couldn’t score it higher. 

I’ll be blunt here. This site is a bit of an overload. Yes, I do enjoy the colours as it reminds me a little of an 80s arcade, but at times, it looks dated rather than fun, especially when you get to the text-heavy game pages.

Speaking of text, I will say I appreciate High 5’s commitment to providing explanations. Even if the content needs a design update, it’s there, and it’s mostly helpful, especially considering this is a social casino with a roulette and blackjack guide.

Along the top are all the coins you can earn, but which is which? With no labels or info icons, it’s unclear for newcomers to figure out. 

I suppose that the overall impression here is of form over substance, where the site can look better than it feels for the user. Perhaps I’m focusing on the new player’s perspective a bit too much, but you can’t beat a good first impression.

There is some good though. Once you register, the game section is laid out well with large game thumbnails to click on. And it’s very clear which games I didn’t have access to due to my low level in the VIP program.

Non-registered users looking to browse before they make up their minds won’t have any luck, though. There’s very little to see before you sign up.
