Fury of Anubis review summary
Pragmatic Play is known for its memorable slots and features, and Fury of Anubis fits in nicely in the catalog. The Ancient Egyptian theme is engaging and the slot is highly detailed, both in terms of graphics and animations. The visuals are high-quality, with plenty of references to Anubis’ role in Egyptian mythology as the god of mummification and the afterlife. The background track creates an atmospheric feeling, too.
As for bonus features, Fury of Anubis builds on what previous slots laid out before it. The tumble feature makes it easier to land bigger cluster groups, and increasing the multipliers with each tumble is a great combination. The free spins work hand in hand with these two major features, which creates a cohesive game.
Other Fury of Anubis details include its 96.52% RTP and medium volatility. Plus, it has a maximum win potential of 10,000x your bet.

Fury of Anubis comprehensive review
In my Fury of Anubis slot review, I unpack the slot’s RTP, its volatility, the bonus features, the different symbols and their payouts. At the end of the review, I also explain how the slot works and how to get started.
RTP and volatility
Fury of Anubis’ slot RTP is 96.52%, just above the industry average. The RTP varies slightly depending on which bonus features are in play, ranging from 96.53% to 96.56%. With the ante bet, Super Spin 1 and Super Spin 2 features, the RTP is 96.53%. For all of the bonus buy features, the RTP is 96.56%.
The slot also has medium volatility and is played on a 6×5 grid. Symbols can pay anywhere, but you need a minimum of eight symbols to land a win. The lowest possible payout is $0.04 from the teal and green gems, when your bet is set to the minimum of $0.20. On the maximum bet of $240, the lowest possible win is $48.
With the highest-paying symbol, the Scarab Beetle, the lowest payout is $1, while on the maximum bet it’s $1,200. The maximum payout on Fury of Anubis is 10,000x your bet.

| Volatility | Medium |
From a statistical point of view, Fury of Anubis is a friendly and accessible slot. Medium volatility balances semi-frequent wins with occasional larger payouts, while an above-average RTP reduces the house edge to improve payout potential.
Compare it to Book of Dead, with its RTP of 96.21% and high volatility. Wins on that slot are much less frequent, even if there are some bigger ones in the long run. What also works in Fury of Anubis’ favour is the lack of paylines.
Being able to land wins anywhere on the grid makes it easier to grab cluster wins together, and when you need a minimum of eight symbols, you need big clusters, which also triggers the tumble feature. During a 100-spin run, I found the slot is pretty bang on with medium volatility, and triggered a few tumbles, which can lead to bigger wins.
Sophie Pace,
Bonus features
Where its bonus features are concerned, Fury of Anubis has covered all the essentials: free spins, multipliers, and Scatters. The key feature in this slot is Pragmatic Play’s classic tumble feature.
Scatters, free spins, and gamble feature
The Scatter symbol is Anubis with the word “Scatter” underneath. When three, four, five, or six of these Scatters land on the reels, this triggers a free spins round. 10 free spins are awarded, with a starting multiplier of x8, x16, x32, or x64 depending on how many Scatters triggered the round.
Before the free spins round starts, you’re given the option to gamble your starting multiplier to double it. If you don’t want to use this feature, you can just collect your 10 free spins and start the round. If you choose to gamble and it lands on the green, your multiplier is doubled, however if it lands on the red then you’ll lose your free spins. The multiplier can only be gambled up to a starting multiplier of x256.
The chance to win the gamble ranges between 50.55% and 58.10%, depending on your starting multiplier. When the starting multiplier is x8-x16, your chance of winning the gamble is 50.55%, but with the maximum starting multiplier of x128-x256, it’s 58.10%.
Hitting three to six additional Scatters during a free spins round will retrigger the free spins, awarding an additional 10 spins and multiplying the starting multiplier by x2, x4, x8, or x16.
Multipliers
Multipliers are active during both the base game and during free spins. The multiplier metre sits at the top of the grid, showing the current multiplier, the one before it, and the future potential multiplier.
In the base game, a win multiplier is applied to every winning combination. The multiplier doubles after every tumble, starting at x1. The possible multipliers are x2, x4, x8, x16, x32, x64, x128, x256, x512, and x1,024. When the maximum multiplier is reached, it remains that way until all tumbles are complete. It then resets to x1.
During the free spins round, all winning combinations are multiplied by the starting multiplier, which is awarded depending on the number of Scatters that triggered the feature. With each tumble, the multiplier is doubled, up to a maximum of x1,024 for tumbles resulting from the same free spin. The starting multipliers are x8, x16, x32, or x64.
Tumble feature
The tumble feature is activated after a winning combination lands on the reels. Once a winning cluster has been removed from the reels, and the payout awarded, the empty symbol positions are refilled with new symbols.
If these new symbols create a new winning combination, the win is recorded in the tumble tracker and the symbols are cleared again. This process is repeated until there are no more possible wins. Once the last tumble is finished, the recorded wins are paid out.

Bonus Buy
With the buy feature, you can instantly trigger a free spins round. Each option offers a different version of free spins:
- Pay 100x your total bet for 10 free spins triggered by three Scatters, with the x8 multiplier
- Pay 200x your total bet for 10 free spins triggered by four Scatters, with the x16 multiplier
- Pay 400x your total bet for 10 free spins triggered by three Scatters, with the x32 multiplier
- Pay 800x your total bet for 10 free spins triggered by three Scatters, with the x64 multiplier
- Pay 175x your total bet to trigger 10 free spins with a random number of Scatters and a random starting multiplier
Ante bet
The ante bet gives you the option to choose the bet multiplier, which affects how the game behaves.
- Super Spin 2: costs 250x your bet, 5,000x bet multiplier. Every spin starts with a minimum x256 multiplier with no upper limit, and scatters and free spins are disabled
- Super Spin 1: costs 20x your bet, 400x bet multiplier. Every spin starts with a random multiplier up to x1,024, and scatters and free spins are disabled
- Ante bet: costs 3x your bet, 60x bet multiplier. The chance to hit free spins increases by 10x
The 20x bet multiplier is normal play.
Fury of Anubis is a good replica of Gates of Olympus and Sweet Bonanza in terms of its bonus features. The tumbles, the multipliers, the free spins – it’s almost identical.
What I was happy to see, though, is that for this slot, the multipliers have been changed. Not only are they different values, but they operate differently. I find the multipliers are much more effective in Fury of Anubis because instead of a randomized multiplier being applied to one spin, these multipliers build up on each other with every tumble.
The free spins multipliers are good, too, and I found a round of free spins to be pretty lucrative. In one case, with a bet of $1.20, I won $1,582.08. My multiplier started on x8, but thanks to the tumble feature I hit a multiplier of x128.
The ante bet features are cool, but since they totally disable free spins and Scatters, I wouldn’t consider them worth it.

Symbols and paytable
There are nine paying symbols on Fury of Anubis. To get a win, you need to land a minimum of eight symbols anywhere on the reels. The low-paying symbols are the gemstones. In ascending order, these are: teal, green, purple, red, and blue. The teal gemstone is the lowest-paying symbol in the game.
When your bet is set to $1, landing eight to nine teal gemstones awards a payout of $0.20. If you get 10-11 symbols, it’s a payout of $0.50, and 12+ earns you $2. The green gemstone pays out slightly better, awarding $2.50 for 12+ symbols.
The purple, red, and blue gemstones are a step out. If you land eight to nine of these on a bet of $1, you’ll get $0.30. For 12+ symbols, it varies. The purple gemstone will award $3, the red will award $4, and the blue will award $5.

The higher-paying symbols are the scroll, the ankh, the green skull ring, and the scarab beetle. The scroll awards a payout of $0.50 for eight to nine symbols when your bet is set to $1, but for 10-11 symbols it’s a payout of $2. For 12+, you’ll get $10. The ankh pays out much better, awarding $5 for 10-11 and as much as $25 for 12+ symbols on a bet of $1.
The green skull ring pays out $40 for 12+ symbols, while the scarab beetle is the highest-paying symbol in the game. With this, you’ll get $5 for eight to nine symbols and $100 for 12+. At the maximum bet of $240, the scarab beetle can pay out up to $24,000.
The average payouts on Fury of Anubis are pretty good and what I appreciated was that they scale up quickly. From the gemstones to the scroll, there’s a big jump, from $5 for 12+ to $10 for 12+. The maximum win of 10,000x is good too, and it’s in line with what I would have expected from a slot of this calibre. There are slots that pay out better, however.
Immortal Romance, for instance, offers a higher maximum win of 12,150x. However, while Gates of Olympus caps at 5,000x, it delivers better average payouts.
The tumble mechanism and multipliers paired with medium volatility are a good combination, and are what contribute to the 10,000x potential maximum win. Gates of Olympus has that same tumble mechanism, but with high volatility, so its wins are awarded less frequently.

How to play Fury of Anubis
Hit the spin button to get the reels moving. Pressing either of the plus or minus buttons either side of it opens up the bet panel, where you can adjust your bet, coin value, and total bet.
The bet values range from one to 10 and the coin value starts at $0.01 until hitting $1.20. Adjusting either of these changes your total bet, which you can also increase or decrease directly. The bet range on Fury of Anubis is $0.20-$240. The “Bet Max” button will automatically change your bet to $240.
Underneath the spin button, there’s the autoplay button. You can play a minimum of 10 autospins and a maximum of 1,000. You can also choose to skip animation screens, or play the autospins on quick or turbo spin.

You could also choose to play your autospins in Hyperplay. This allows you to play out the autospins without the reels. Instead, you’ll get instant spin results. The screen shows a table with your starting credit and how your credit value changes with each spin, depending on whether you had a win or not. It also shows each win value, any tumbles, and the attached multipliers. You can keep running autospins within Hyperplay and you can adjust your bet, too.
Next to the autoplay button, there’s also the quick spin button. Pressing it once enables quick spin, and pressing it twice enables turbo spins. To return to normal play, press it a third time.

Expert verdict
All in all, the Fury of Anubis slot is a great option for players who are fans of Pragmatic Play’s classic slots, but are looking for something different. The slot’s tumble feature and free spins are popular elements, but the revamping of the multipliers gives the game a new energy which is welcome.
The wide betting range gives players room to find their sweet spot, though always budget your bankroll carefully with games of chance.
I will say that despite the agreeable RTP and medium volatility, Fury of Anubis is better suited to players who are more experienced. Very green players might find the slot too fast-paced and might find it hard to keep up with the quick-changing multipliers and tumbles.
