Reactoonz, developed by Play’n GO and released in 2017, is a highly engaging slot with an intergalactic theme that takes players into a world of aliens in outer space.
This high-volatility slot has an RTP of 96.51% and is known for its unique 7×7 grid layout, designed to offer substantial win potential through multipliers and special Wilds.
General ratings

Expert verdict
Reactoonz is one of those slots that instantly pulls you in with its unique cascading reels and quirky characters. After spending time trying it out, I found the game to be both visually appealing and packed with fun features like multipliers and transforming Wilds.
However, it’s not your typical slot with classic free spins or jackpots, which may be a deal-breaker for some. Personally, I think its innovative mechanics make it worth a try for anyone looking for something fresh.
The gameplay stays dynamic throughout, and despite not having standard bonus rounds, I managed to trigger special Wilds and Quantum features regularly. Highly recommend.
- Five Quantum bonus features
- Wilds may drop on any non-winning spin
- Sized-up symbols act as 2x multipliers
- No free spins
- No jackpots
- Difficult to trigger Gargantoon

RTP and volatility
In Reactoonz, the payouts can be rewarding thanks to the Cascading reels and Cluster Pays.
The slot has an RTP of 96.51% and a max win of 4,750x your stake. However, its high volatility means wins occur less frequently.

Payouts rating
- Unique 7×7 grid
- Cluster Pays offer more ways to win
- High volatility
- Average RTP
- Mediocre max win
In terms of payouts, Reactoonz doesn’t stand out all that much.
The RTP is average, comparing to other grid slots with a similar array of features, like Moon Princess (96.50%) and Viking Runecraft (96.70%).
Volatility is high but didn’t really feel like it. I managed to squeeze wins out pretty frequently, but they were rather small. It’s the special features that reflect high volatility: big wins, but rare.
The max payout, however, is lagging behind more competitive titles. Sweet Bonanza and Jammin’ Jars, two other high-volatility grid games, offer max payouts of 21,100x and 20,000x respectively.
In fact, out of my top 10 grid slots, Reactoonz has the second lowest max, sitting right above Gemix with 4,500x (which compensates with medium volatility, by the way).
The redeeming factor for me, and a reason I keep coming back to this extraterrestrial game, is the Cluster Pays mechanic. There’s something extra satisfying about matching wins regardless of their imaginary-payline position — as long as they touch, you win.
Stakes
The betting range makes Reactoonz suitable for various players, from casual gamblers to high-rollers.
The minimum bet is C$0.20 and goes up to a maximum of C$100 per spin.

Stake limits rating
- Wide betting range of C$0.20–C$100
- No Max Bet button
While testing Reactoonz, I found the lower stake options pretty good for getting a feel for the game, particularly with all the Cascading symbols and chain reactions.
Similar slots pretty much all start out at C$0.20, with a few exceptions sitting at C$0.10 (namely Gemix, Viking Runecraft, and Dork Unit).
The max is more than reasonable, in line with competing titles (all of which have a max of C$100–C$125). Personally, I don’t roll high on slots, but if I did, what would’ve improved my experience is a Max Bet button or toggle of some kind.
Bonus features
There are no bonus rounds, jackpots, free spins, Scatters, or Gamble features. But the game is full to the brim with Wilds of every type and the occasional multiplier.
The Reactoonz grid also features Cascading reels.

These vibrant Toonz come in various shapes and sizes, and your mission is to group them into clusters of five or more.
Each Toon is brimming with raw energy, and as they evolve, they unleash multipliers and chain reactions. Every time a winning combination lands, the Toonz ignite their electric synergy, teleporting away and making room for new ones, increasing your chances of triggering even more wins via Cascading reels.
I averaged one win out of every three spins (over 300), BUT almost 80% of my small wins ended up stacking thanks to the Cascading feature.
This ability to spark cascading reactions is what gave these bubbly aliens their intergalactic name: Reactoonz. Overseeing them all is the mighty Gargantoon, the supreme overlord who channels Toon energy into the Quantum Leap reactor, located beside the reels.
The reactor must fully charge through four stages before the Gargantoon awakens, unleashing an explosive surge of energy.
Each stage activates one of four random Quantum features: Implosion, Demolition, Alteration, and Incision. These thrilling mechanics transform symbols, clear sections of the grid, or introduce Wilds, boosting your potential for massive wins.
I can’t understate how much I enjoy playing Reactoonz because of these bonus features, even though the standard spins’n’scatters aren’t present. There are SO many different ways to win, and despite the game’s high volatility, I felt like wins, Wilds, and multipliers drop left and right.
Audiovisuals
Reactoonz is packed with modern and immersive graphics on an alien and space-themed backdrop.
All elements are on theme, from the quirky Toonz to the accompanying warp-like animations.

Audiovisuals rating
- Modern and immersive graphics
- Smooth animations
- High-quality, on-theme sound
- Theme is not for everyone
- Limited sound settings
Overall, I couldn’t really fault the audiovisuals of Reactoonz. Both the ambient sound and the sound effects were great and went well with the theme. I tested the game on mobile as well as desktop and found everything to run smoothly, with no lag.
The only downsides are limited sound settings, but honestly it was no bother to me as none of the sound effects were intrusive, which is so common in slots.
The cartoony theme may not be for everyone, as it is a bit more childish than many other games. But let’s be real, most slots these days are like that, and it wouldn’t be fair to penalize for it.
Game layout
The Reactoonz slot game is played on a unique 7×7 grid layout, with symbols cascading down rather than using traditional reels. All of the essential controls are clearly laid out around the edge, so it’s easy to make adjustments as you go.

On the bottom of the screen, you can set your bet stake, ranging from C$0.20 to C$100 per spin. The spin button is conveniently located just to the right, while your current balance and winnings are displayed on the left.
On the far right, there’s an Autoplay option, allowing you to automate spins for a set number or up to a specific win/loss threshold.
Game layout rating
- A dynamic 7×7 layout
- Easy to adjust stake
- Autoplay for 10 to 100 spins
- Poor text-color contrast
No major qualms with the layout on my part. A few minor improvements would do well, like the addition of a Max Bet button and an easier way to set bets in general.
I found it a little annoying to have to click on the > arrow over and over to get to my desired stake. The white-on-teal contrast is a bit poor as well. On a sunny day I have to squint to make sure I select the right bet, or look at the white-on-purple stakes to the side to determine what’s in the middle. Which is kind of backwards.
Sun or no sun, there’s also some kind of glow/fuzz effect on the font used, which really strains the eye. I would’ve appreciated some simplicity here, or maybe even a larger font for better readability, as otherwise this game has a fantastic and intuitive UI.
Repeatability
Reactoonz is certainly replayable, although just how replayable depends on the individual. Some players might find the lack of Free Spin rounds not enticing enough to come back to, as the game can feel repetitive without these interludes. That said, the high volatility will appeal to high-rollers and the audiovisuals create a perfectly immersive slot for those who seek a more gamified experience.
Repeatability rating
- High volatility appeals to high-rollers
- Engaging ambient music and sound effects
- Multipliers, Cascades, and Wilds provide variety
- Can feel repetitive without bonuses
Reactoonz has a lot to offer and I’d certainly play it again. I do understand, however, that its high volatility combined with its lack of bonus rounds can make it feel repetitive and less engaging.
For me, the game ticks all the boxes. Cascading reels are effectively free spins, only I don’t have to trigger some arbitrary conditions to make it happen. And the variety of Wilds and Quantum features if more than enough to keep me entertained. It’s a game I keep coming back to, and certainly will again.
