Editor's note: how we rank operators
These Olympic betting sites are ranked according to the odds and quality of their Olympic Games markets.
If you see a bookie with a lower ‘Sports and markets’ rating ranking higher on the list, it means that while this sportsbook may lack in other sports and leagues, it excels in Olympic betting and tailors the offer to the various Olympic events.
The top three Olympic sports betting sites — our expert picks
With loads of sports and even more betting sites, finding a good sports betting site for the Olympics can be tricky. Unfortunately, not every sportsbook filters for the Olympics, so sometimes even finding Olympic bets can be a drag.
This is where our reporters come in. We found sportsbooks with Olympic filters and analyzed their Olympic bets, odds, and promos, as well as their overall offering. These three floated to the top as the best Olympic betting sites.
🥇#1 Best overall — BetRivers
With 380 markets and 74 futures on the Olympics, BetRivers could take the top spot on size alone. It offers the most complete Olympic betting package, letting you bet on most of the different sports with a variety of betting options.
Every bet also comes with detailed statistics provided by GTG Network, including details such as team form and recent results. If there’s a game you’re particularly excited about, BetRivers will let you do Same-game Parlays on that Olympic game.
🥈#2 Best social sportsbook — Sportzino
If it’s social Olympic betting you’re into, then Sportzino is the place to be. With its daily login bonus of 20,000 GC and one SC, you can use your free daily currency to try your hand at some of the boosted parlays for Olympic games.
What really makes Sportzino stand out is the variety of sports that it offers Olympic betting on. You can bet on 20 Olympic sports, including the Summer Olympic exclusive sport, the Modern Pentathlon.
🥉#3 Best live Olympic bets — Caesars
A mainstay in sports betting, Caesars’ relaunch in 2022 saw them soar to new heights with an impressive mobile app for on-the-go betting. The app has live betting integrated in, so Caesars is the perfect choice for live Olympic bets while on the move.
Caesars’ live Olympic bets also include in-depth data on each match, as well as live streaming on some of the games. They also boast a higher-than-average payout percentage for live bets, at roughly 94.24%. Combine that with regular profit boosts, and you’ll be able to place excellent live bets on the Olympics.
Betting on Olympic games — tips and tricks
So how do you go about betting on the Olympics? Trying to throw bets on 30 different sports all at once is not the wisest of choices, and it’s a good idea to take a step back and consider what it is that the Olympics offer.
What Olympic bet types are there, and how do make use of them? Are there any Olympic promos that can help you out? What are the rules of the games? Consider all these options when choosing an Olympic sportsbook and placing a bet.
Different Olympic bet types
It wouldn’t be an Olympic event without a few unique bets. Every sport will have its own special bets, such as Asian handicaps in soccer or derivatives in basketball, but there are some bet types saved for the overall Olympics. Below are some unique bet types that you can expect to make an appearance during the Olympics.

Tournament medals
The classic Olympic bet. Sportsbooks will have bets to let you guess the number of medals a country will win. This can be for the total number of medals, or the number of gold, silver, or bronze medals. Some will even let you bet on if a nation will have the most medals in the whole event.
Head-to-head
A variation of the tournament medal bet type, that pits two nations against each other. You can bet on China to have more overall medals than France, but for France to have more gold medals than China.
Futures
While not a unique bet to the Olympics, you can expect loads of these to pop up far in advance of the Olympics for most of the sports. Some sportsbooks, like Sportzino, will add sports just to have Olympic futures available. If your favorite sportsbook suddenly increases its sports offering, it’s probably gearing up for some Olympic betting.
Cross-event parlays
It’s common to chain parlays across different matches within the same sport, but some Olympic sportsbooks will let you chain parlays across different Olympic sports entirely. This is a high-risk gamble with no guarantee of any reward since you’ll need knowledge about different sports to pull it off. If you see this option available, tread lightly.Olympic events
People tend to think of the Summer Olympics when the word Olympics is mentioned, but in actuality, there are 12 different Olympic events. All of these are organized separately, with their own sports and committees.
The Summer and Winter Olympics are the main events, with their respective Paralympics normally following right after in the same location. Athletes aged 15–18 years can also take part in the Summer and Winter Youth Olympics, and as of 2023 the new Olympic Esports Series has started and is expected to happen yearly.
Several Olympic committees also organize different continental games, usually one year before the Summer Olympics, which all follow the Olympic Charter.

Summer Olympics
The Games of the Olympiad have been around since 776 B.C., and are still going strong to this day. The modern format, more commonly known as the Summer Olympics, was created by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in 1896 with a plan to happen once every leap year.
Athletes of the highest caliber compete against each other in various sports, often breaking records as they do. The United States especially tends to excel at the Summer Olympics, with a total medal count of 2629 medals, over a thousand more than Russia in second place.
Winter Olympics
In 1924 the IOC responded to the popularity of the Summer Olympics by creating the Winter Olympics, a sporting event for more winter-themed sports such as skiing, skating, and snowboarding. The Winter Olympics occur once every four years, previously in the same year as the Summer Olympics till 1992 when it was then changed to have them happen on an alternating two-year cycle.
The U.S. is proud to have hosted the Winter Olympics four times, more than any other nation in the world. The U.S. has also won the second-most medals in the Winter Olympics with 330 medals, with Norway beating out the U.S. at 405 medals.
Paralympics
The Paralympics are a separate set of Olympic games hosted by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC). These are also split into Summer and Winter Games and happen directly after the Summer and Winter Olympic Games in the same respective host country.
Starting as far back as 1960, these games are open to athletes with physical disabilities, including but not limited to mobility disabilities, amputations, blindness, and cerebral palsy. Participants are grouped into one of 10 disability categories, with sports then having their own categories depending on the physical demands of the sport.
Youth Olympics
The Youth Olympics offers young athletes aged 15–18 a chance to shine on the international stage. Like the main Olympic games, the Youth Olympics are split into Summer and Winter Youth Olympics and each happens once every four years. Unlike the Paralympics however, the Youth Olympics are not attached to any ongoing events and have a separate event elsewhere.
The IOC also created a Culture and Education Program to be attached to all Youth Olympic events. Athletes are required to attend classes and workshops throughout the event, with these often being open to the public as well. These classes often focus on teaching the culture of different participating nations and on educating the youth on various aspects of health, fitness, and athletics.
Esports Games
A brand new initiative, the IOC first tried an experimental version of this in 2023 in Japan with just 10 esports. The next year a vote for an official Olympics Esports Games was approved, with the first event happening in Saudi Arabia in 2025 and for the events to continue bi-annually.
The games are still trying out new formats, with the experimental 2023 version choosing games like Virtual Regatta and Virtual Taekwondo over more popular esports like Counter-Strike and League of Legends. Expect big changes to happen over the coming years as the IOC slowly settles on a format.
Continental games
Olympic games happen on a worldwide level, but there also exist continental games that are a bit more local. While separate from the Olympics, continental games are still hosted by Olympic committees and follow the Olympic Charter.
There are five continental games: African Games, Asian Games, European Games, Pacific Games, and Pan American Games. Except for the Asian Games, these events happen a year before the Summer Olympics and give athletes a chance to test their mettle before the grand Olympic event.
