Writing this review has been quite the wild ride. At times, it seemed like BetRivers was the best US sportsbook on the market. Other times, I had to struggle to not close the site.

When BetRivers gets things right, it shines. The sports range on offer is impressive, and the sheer amount of bonuses guarantees that there will always be something waiting for the players when they come in.

The rotation of bonuses tied to big events like the Australian Open means that players always have something to look forward to, a new thing on the horizon. Top it off with some excellent betting features, especially for live betting, and some great percentage payouts for general betting and players should be flocking to this sportsbook in droves.

Yet, we can’t write off the low points. 92.9% percentage payout for live bets is hard to ignore. The help center doesn’t live up to its name, and I would probably get more help if I contacted my local psychic and looked into her crystal ball.

Still, I do think that this is overall a great sportsbook, with far more pros than cons. Sports and betting are the most important parts for a sportsbook, and BetRivers does those great, at least. There’s a lot to be excited about here, and I can happily recommend BetRivers overall.

No sportsbook would be complete without, of course, the sports. They’re the beating heart of any sportsbook, and the reason we make our way there in the first place. With this in mind, we’re very happy to say that BetRivers delivers here in a spectacular fashion.

BetRivers offers a staggering 30 different sports. From the most popular sports like football, basketball, and baseball to the more niche options like curling, speed skating, and table tennis. There’s practically every sport here under the sun, including seasonal sports like the Winter Olympics, so fans will almost always find what they are looking for here.

BetRivers is also willing to adjust quickly to accommodate ongoing large events. At the time of writing, tennis is seeing a surge with 76 different markets  (going up to 180 markets live) to bet on for one of the tennis grand slams, which shows that BetRivers is capable of adjusting and providing for big sporting events.

BetRivers has the numbers on its side here, and its willingness to accommodate for ongoing events shows that it’s not slowing down anytime soon. Comparing it to other US sportsbooks, BetRivers is in a league of its own.

BetRivers online sportsbook has been impressing quite a bit in this review, but the betting features are where it truly gets to shine. Every feature imaginable is here, and it’s all neatly organized and user-friendly.

You’ve got your Cashout, which for some reason BetRivers has decided to call Buy-Out. It’s a bit odd to just change an accepted term to something else, but hey it works and that’s all that matters. You’ve also got an internal bet builder that calculates the odds of parlays for you. It’s all very smooth and straightforward, allowing players to simply make bets and let the tools do all the work.

The real stand-out though is the BetRivers online sportsbook live betting options. BetRivers is pulling out all the stops here for its live betting, with every feature imaginable. Quick bets allow you to rapid-fire bets whilst the action is ongoing, with odds being updated at lightning speed.

The navigation is incredibly smooth, with all the data you could ever need on the right-hand vertical sidebar, and bets updating on the left. There’s even a live stream that lets you see and enjoy the game

The data presented to the player is overwhelming. We always appreciate when extra data is shown, such as the number of attacks versus dangerous attacks in soccer, but BetRivers goes the extra mile and features a pop-up window with the entire team’s history together.

Do you want to bet on Juventus vs Inter? Just click on their history, see their previous matches together, and make your own decisions as you please. It’s a handy feature that enhances live betting and makes it significantly more comfortable to participate in.

So far this BetRivers online sportsbook review has been getting better and better. As always, we’ve taken a bunch of odds and calculated them into percentages, and for the most part, we’re very happy with the results we’ve found. Here are the findings that we got for BetRivers.

Odds facts

First up, the general payouts. We tend to consider 93% to be on the low end, and 97% to be on the high end, so a general payout percentage of 96.44% is excellent. It comes so tantalizingly close to cracking the 97% mark, especially with football that comes in at 96.86%, but even without that, it’s still a great position to be in. Basketball came in a little lower at 95.79%, but it’s still enough for us to consider it as excellent.

However, live payouts are a different story. So far this BetRivers online sportsbook review has shown just how excellent the live betting of BetRivers is, and it’s clear the sportsbook is going all out on live bets. Unfortunately, there’s a caveat, as a live payout percentage of 92.90% is abysmal. Normally we accept that live payout percentages are always going to be a bit lower since players have the benefit of actually seeing the game, but the discrepancy here is far too much.

There’s a lot to say about the section, however we should warn you that if you want to try and double check the information yourself, actually getting said information is a nightmare. There’s more to say about this lack of information in the expert section, but for now, the focus will be on the little that was found.

There are a fair few methods of depositing money, with most of the standard ones that you would expect such as VISA or Mastercard. However withdrawing money is far more limited, with players only able to withdraw with the BetRivers Play+ card, VIP Preferred, or a check in the mail. Withdrawing with the Play+ card is instant, but players will have to wait a minimum of 2 days for VIP Preferred, or over a week for the cheque option.

Some good news is that there are no deposit or withdrawal fees from BetRivers’s end, so you can safely perform these actions without losing money to the sportsbook. You can also make some large cash deposits of $10K a month, so if you have a spare $10K in hard cash lying around, feel free to waltz over to your local 7-Eleven and drop it off there (though you’ll have to do it $500 at a time).

We ended up having to get some of the numbers presented here from SugarHouse, BetRivers’s sister brand. They’re accurate, but BetRivers certainly lose a point for transparency on that front.

Thankfully, things are back on track for BetRivers online sportsbook, and in one of the most important segments as well. We can comfortably say that BetRivers is an extremely safe and secure website, so there’s nothing to fear here.

The main thing that BetRivers has going for it is the sheer number of states that it’s licensed in. The more states that a sportsbook is in, the more eyes it will have looking at it. We normally get excited to see a sportsbook be licensed in 3 or 4, maybe even 5 states, so seeing BetRivers come in at 11 states is very impressive. They had to pass a lot of safety tests to pull that off, and we’re all for that.

As for the site itself, it does its due diligence to help keep its players safe. There is a separate page just for Responsible Gambling, which can be accessed through the sticky toolbar at the top, and the site allows for self-exclusion and spending limits.

It also has the number for the NCPG which players can call if they feel like they need help. Add in a strong SSL encryption and 2-step verification, and players have no reason to feel unsafe while playing at this online bookie. BetRivers is definitely a king of safety across the US, whether you’re talking about Virginia online gambling, New Jersey sportsbooks, or somewhere on the West coast.

BetRivers unfortunately has quite a few functionality problems with its support system. The help center for BetRiver is simply broken, no two ways about it. Often pages will have missing information, repeated information, or flat out not work. It is a disorganized mess, and searching for any information in it is a chore.

Things don’t get much better once we move on from the help center. BetRivers CO online sportsbook only has 2 methods of contacting them. One is through a webform, the other is live chat. No option is available to give them a call, so players will have to make do without it.

The live chat is also not 24/7, but is instead daily from 7:30 am-12 am (MDT). This means that unfortunately queues are quite common and there is a bit of a waiting time, though the process will be expedited a bit if the person contacting live support is a registered user.

The live chat itself was admittedly very good, with friendly and helpful answers being given, and the support staff always tried their best to help, even if as seen in the payments section, they did not always succeed.

Here are all of the important details that you need to know regarding BetRivers’ platform:

• Registration involves 16 fields, 5 drop-down menus, and 3 tickboxes. It also claims that all fields are required, before immediately giving you an optional field. It’s quick to fill in, but the ‘all fields are required’ sign is confusing and just flat out wrong.
• The welcome offer can take up to 48 hours to come in, though it came in quite quickly for us.
• The BetRivers online sportsbook app is very similar to the desktop version, with all the same pros and cons.
• The website is very easy to navigate and understand and is well-designed.
• There is an extremely good search bar and filtering option to go along with everything else.
