This may sound crazy given the relatively high overall score, but I cannot fully recommend theScore Bet to players right now. Hear me out. Its user interface is superb and its betting features are very strong, but there are some glaring issues that need to be addressed.
Recurring promos are limited, payout averages are standard, and using the chatbot can be frustrating. Now normally, I would look past these issues, but I just couldn’t shake how bad the 1.6/5 Trustpilot rating was. User feedback was littered with complaints about verification, payments, and customer service.
For now, I would lean toward a more established alternative like BetMGM. It offers a broadly similar sportsbook experience with stronger promotions and, more importantly, a much stronger reputation among US players.
Where is theScore Bet legal?
TheScore Bet sportsbook has a minimum age requirement of 21 and is available in 20 US states. This includes Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.
TheScore Bet promos: Profit Boosts and PENN Play giveaways
If your first wager at theScore Bet ends in a loss, the First Bet Reset promo will return 100% of your original stake up to $1,000 so long as you sign up using the code T2P. The returned funds will be split across five Bonus Bets, with each one worth 20% of your original wager.
The Bonus Bets will enter your account within 72 hours and must be used within seven days before they expire. Bonus Bets cannot be withdrawn and come with a 1x wagering requirement. Bonus Bets can be used on any market, and any winnings gained are yours to withdraw.
Elsewhere, Profit Boosts are promotions that let you increase the potential payout by a set percentage while keeping your stake the same. These values vary depending on the promo but tend to range from 10% up to 100%.
The Parlay Club is another betting promo where players can earn up to $10 in Bonus Bets. After opting in via the promotions page, users must create four standard parlays worth at least $10, with a minimum of four legs each. It does not matter if your parlay loses, but every leg must have odds of -500 or longer.
Through the Refer a Friend promo, existing players can earn $25 in Bonus Bets by sending a unique referral link to a friend. To be eligible, the friend must place a minimum wager of $25 on any market. After meeting these requirements, both players will receive $25 in Bonus Bets. Each person can refer up to five friends.

The First Bet Reset really caught my eye. If my bet settles as a win, I win, and if it loses, I get to try again. Plus, the $1,000 leeway in Bonus Bets made the opening wager feel a lot less daunting. It’s a very solid, low-risk way to get started.
Beyond that, I wasn’t too blown away by the offerings. The $25 referral bonus is pretty generous, but the Parlay Club feels like more trouble than it’s worth. PENN Play definitely adds value, but many of its best rewards felt unrealistic and out of reach.
I also wasn’t a huge fan of how sporadic and event-driven many of its promos were. I prefer something with a little more routine and substance. ClutchBet sportsbook, for instance, offers a wider range of recurring promos, including weekly deposit matches, bet refunds, and daily boosted odds.

TheScore Bet covers 23 sports and events, each featuring its own set of leagues and betting markets. Depending on the event, football and basketball also offer special betting markets.
With more than 150 NFL markets per matchup, football is actually one of the biggest sports on the platform. You can also bet on college football and the CFL.
Basketball is equally well represented with over 150 NBA markets per game. You’ll also find markets for college basketball, the WNBA, and leagues from across Europe, New Zealand, and Lebanon.
Baseball coverage includes the MLB, as well as leagues from China and South Korea. Hockey fans can place wagers on the NHL and several major European leagues.

The number of betting options available per matchup impressed me, particularly when it came to basketball, where the sportsbook average tends to sit at around 50 markets per game. Overall, the core American pastimes are well covered by theScore Bet.
The extensive coverage of international markets in hockey, basketball, and baseball also adds real value. It gives US players the chance to explore foreign leagues within their favorite sports, which is particularly useful during quieter spells in the domestic season.
The overall range of sports offered is generally competitive and similar to Caesars sportsbook, which offers around 20 sports. However, theScore Bet edges it for me due to the inclusion of entertainment and special betting markets.

The betslip makes navigation a total breeze. The ability to switch between straight bets, parlays and teasers at the click of a button cannot be underestimated. Plus, the Parlay Lounge gives beginners an easy introduction to parlays without requiring them to build one from scratch.
All this may sound minor, but I believe navigation can really make or break a sports betting platform. Take Sleeper, for instance, a Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) site that lets players create private contests and custom playoff rules. However, that flexibility comes at the cost of poor navigation, with features that are far from beginner-friendly.
Plus, unlike Sleeper, theScore Bet offers live betting and live streaming for major events. That said, teasers are limited to football and basketball, while the cashback feature could be expanded upon. Overall though, there’s really not too much to complain about here.

After sampling betting odds across a range of sports over several days, theScore Bet returned an average payout rate of 95.26%.
Football offered the most favorable return, with NFL markets coming in at 96.30%. Elsewhere, basketball markets returned an average payout rate of 94.79%.

Predictably, live betting came with a much lower payout rate of 93.84%, although prices are constantly updated in real time. This is particularly noticeable in sports like tennis, where odds can shift after almost every point.
The platform also regularly posts boosted odds on special betting markets. These are marked by a double-arrow icon and display the base price alongside the enhanced odds.

In terms of payouts, theScore Bet produces pretty standard and respectable results, but nothing too crazy. The overall average of 95.26% is acceptable, but stronger sportsbooks tend to sit above 96%, including Sportzino at 96.12%. NFL fans get the best value here, with football markets returning an impressive 96.30%. Basketball markets were far less convincing, with their average falling just short of 95%.
Live odds produced the lowest return at 93.84%, but this is still pretty good for in-play betting. Anything above 93% for live odds is okay in my book, and theScore Bet falls just shy of 94%.
I was also impressed by how quickly in-play odds updated. This was especially noticeable during live streams, as you can actually see the odds change in real time with each point or phase of play.
TheScore Bet: 11 payment options
US players at theScore Bet can choose from 11 payment methods, including eight options that can be used for both deposits and withdrawals. These are Visa debit cards, online banking, PayPal, Skrill, Venmo, Cash at Casino, ACH/e-check, and wire transfers.

While making transactions, I kept my deposits small and avoided making any large withdrawals. As a result, I didn’t experience any major issues. Deposits were instant, although Visa withdrawals were not quite as fast as the platform claims, taking up to 24 hours to come through. Still, I received the full amount owed to me.
The main inconvenience is that several methods do not work both ways. Mastercard and Apple Pay can fund an account, but I would need to use another method to cash out. To save myself the hassle, I avoided using them altogether.

On paper, theScore Bet’s security and responsible play setup is pretty impressive. It also provides a broad range of self-service tools that give players plenty of control. Even so, I cannot separate those strengths from its awful 1.6/5 Trustpilot rating.
Bad reviews are standard for any sportsbook, but what bothered me the most was the nature of the complaints. The majority of them centered on verification, payments, and support, three vital components for a functioning and trusted sportsbook. Even my own small withdrawal took far longer than expected.
I’d say that the responsible play setup and safety features are comparable to BetMGM. However, BetMGM is backed by the highly renowned MGM Resorts International and is a lot more established and trusted by US players.

TheScore Bet has all the hallmarks of a sportsbook with a superb support system, and for the most part, it delivers. The 24/7 support is complemented by a live chat feature, email service, FAQs, Help articles, and even phone support in some states.
However, if you’re familiar with my betting reviews, then you’ll know I’m not the biggest fan of automated chatbots. They’re often hit or miss and this one was no different. Some answers it gave were direct and to the point, while at other times, it left me hanging.
Thankfully, the real agents fared a lot better with quick responses, although some replies required a little more clarity. The overall selection is similar to what Borgata sportsbook offers, except it comes with broader phone support and its CS agents come across as friendlier and slightly more helpful in my opinion.

TheScore Bet is one of the smoother sportsbooks I’ve reviewed. Registration was easy, while navigation felt quick and intuitive across desktop and mobile devices. The betslip makes creating wagers easy, while the search function performs well with fast loading times.
This gives it an advantage over FanDuel, which has an equally smooth-looking platform but limited search functionality. In contrast, finding individual sports, markets, and players felt a lot smoother at theScore Bet overall.
My only issue is that the separate sportsbook and media platform may confuse users, especially beginners. Linking both platforms to one account is convenient, but switching between them to build and finalize a wager adds an extra step that I could do without.
