Editor’s note: how we rank operators

These Copa América betting sites are ranked according to the odds and quality of their Copa América markets.

If you see a bookie with a lower ‘Sports and markets’ rating ranking higher on the list, it means that while this sportsbook may lack in other sports and leagues, it excels in soccer betting and tailors the offer to the CONMEBOL Copa América tournament.

Top three Copa América betting sites

We’ve picked three sportsbooks based on how suited they are for betting on the Copa América. This includes their specific soccer betting markets, promos, and in-play betting features, while also making sure their overall quality is of a high standard as befits the best sportsbooks in the US.

The closer we get to the event, the more we’ll be able to analyze specific CONMEBOL odds and promos, to keep bringing you the best and latest Copa América betting sites on the markets.

🥇#1 Sportzino — best overall experience

There’s no better betting site for betting on the Copa América than Sportzino, Blazesoft’s innovative social sportsbook launched in 2023.

Sportzino offers 120 markets and 22 futures on the Copa América, including unique prop bets such as when the first goal will be scored. Sportzino also allows for same-game boosted parlays on Copa América matches, for any high-rollers who like to engage in high-risk bets.

This, combined with the fact that Sportzino is a social sportsbook with a 20,000 GC and one SC daily login bonus, means that you can bet on the Copa América without needing to spend a dime.

🥈#2 BetMGM — best for Copa América odds

You can never go wrong with BetMGM. The site recently won the Digital Operator of the Year at the Global Gaming Awards for the second time.

As for its Copa América specific offerings, BetMGM particularly excels at odds. Its payout percentage for soccer is around 95.47%, which beats most competitors on our list. Its live payouts are at 94.93%, which is only slightly lower. Considering live payouts are usually much lower, this is quite impressive.

BetMGM takes this a step further by also offering a 300% odds boost throughout the Copa, so you can expect some nice boosts once the Copa América rolls around.

🥉#3 bet365 — best for Copa América markets

Bet365 has been in the sports betting business for 24 years, with no sign of slowing down now. This extensive experience makes bet365 a pro at lining up 2024 Copa América props at competitive odds.

These bets include “goals in the first 10 minutes”, “half with most goals”, as well as four different types of Asian spread bets. You can combine all of these into a giant soccer parlay with parlay boosts of up to 70%.

Copa América betting odds explained

Betting odds indicate two things: the likelihood of an event occurring, and the potential payout for a $100 bet. Bookmakers adjust odds based on perceived probability, which can be affected by factors like the team’s home-field advantage, current form, and away performance.

For instance, legendary striker Eduardo Vargas is more likely to score a goal than goalkeeper Claudio Bravo, so a prop bet for the former to score will have lower odds and potential winnings than the latter.

When browsing for Copa América odds you’ll see several numbers preceded by a + or – sign. These are known as American or moneyline odds, with the + indicating the underdog and the – indicating the favorite.

Any number preceded by a + sign shows how much money you need to bet to win $100, while any number preceded by a – sign indicates the money you will win for every $100 you stake.

For certain popular bets, such as Copa América futures, a single number is used such as in the odds feed shown below:

Odds feed coming soon.

2024 Copa América favorites to win

It’s hard to predict exactly who’s going to win so early on in the year. We’ve already seen two significant injuries from top players Messi and Neymar that lengthened their team’s odds, all before a single Copa América match has been played.

However, there are some tricks we can use. With the World Cup Qualifiers in progress, we can see the national teams in action right now and get an idea of their current form. Some of the CONMEBOL teams have even played each other already. From these matches, three teams have emerged as the favorites to win the Copa América.

Argentina

The kings of South American soccer, Argentina currently boasts 15 Copa América titles and three World Cup titles, more than any other CONMEBOL team. Not only that, they’re also the previous winners of both of these tournaments and the CONMEBOL-UEFA Cup of Champions.

The only things lowering Argentina’s odds are legendary player Lionel Messi’s age and hamstring injury, but even then Argentina is more than geared to win, and the 36-year-old is getting plenty of rest so he can dominate in the Copa América with his teammates.

Brazil

Brazil was the favorite to win before the devastating news of Neymar’s ACL injury. Since then their odds have placed them below Argentina, but we wouldn’t discount them just yet.

Brazil has placed a lot of hope on 17-year-old Endrick, the fresh striker who’s looking to revitalize the South American team. Brazil was also the runner-up from the last Copa América, and will certainly be looking to take home the trophy this time.

Uruguay

Uruguay have history on their side. They’re tied for Copa América wins with Argentina at 15 wins, and also have two World Cups under their belt.

More importantly, Uruguay has already beaten the current favorites to win Argentina in November for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Their team of youngsters with Darwin Núñez, Manuel Ugarte, and Facundo Pellistri might just have the fresh energy needed to take down the reigning champs during the 2024 Copa América.

The 2024 Copa América format and schedule

The 48th edition of the Copa América will be held in the grand old U.S. of A. and will follow Copa América’s standard format of a round-robin group stage followed by a single-elimination knockout stage.

Of the 16 teams participating in this year’s tournament, 10 CONMEBOL teams were automatically qualified to enter, while six CONCACAF teams had to qualify through the 2023-24 CONCACAF Nations League. The Copa América is one of the few soccer tournaments not to automatically qualify the host, so the US team had to compete like all other CONCACAF teams. Fear not though — the US made it in.

The winner of the Copa América will then go on to battle the winner of the 2024 Euro the following year in the CONMEBOL-UEFA Cup of Champions. Five post-tournament awards are also handed out to individual players, these being:

  • Best Player
  • Top Goalscorer
  • Best Goalkeeper
  • Team of the Tournament
  • Fair Play Award

Group stage

The group stage will be played between June 20–July 2, and involves four groups of four teams each. Each group can have no more than three CONMEBOL teams or two CONCACAF teams each, so don’t expect an all-out brawl between Canada, USA, and Mexico to play out.

Members from each group will play each other in a round-robin format, with three points being awarded for wins, one for a draw, and none for a loss. The two highest-ranked teams of each group will proceed to the next stage, while the other two teams will be eliminated.

The rankings for each group are determined as follows, numbered according to highest priority:

  1. Most points in all group matches
  2. Highest goal difference in all group matches
  3. Highest goals scored in all group matches

If there is a draw, the following tie-breakers will play out in order, until the tie is broken:

  1. The greatest number of points in the group matches between the tied teams
  2. The greatest goal difference in the group matches between the tied teams
  3. The greatest number of goals scored in the group matches between the tied teams
  4. If the tie remains, lots are drawn by the CONMEBOL Organizing Committee

Currently, the four groups are set and seeded as follows:

🧑🏻‍🤝‍🧑🏿 Groups⚽ Teams🏆 Favorite to win group
AArgentina, Peru, Chile, CanadaArgentina (-400) from bet365
BMexico, Ecuador, Venezuela, JamaicaMexico (+110) from bet365
CUSA, Uruguay, Panama, BoliviaUruguay (-134) from bet365
DBrazil, Colombia, Paraguay, Costa RicaBrazil (-250) from bet365

Knockout stage

Once teams enter the knockout stage, it’s do or die. Any team that loses a match is immediately eliminated, with winners moving on to the next round.

If the match ends in a tie, 30 minutes of extra time are added on, and if that’s not enough then it’s penalty shoot-outs ’til someone comes out on top.

The knockout stage involves eight matches — four quarter-finals, two semi-finals, a third place play-off, and the final. The dates for the 2024 Copa América matches can be found below:

🏟️ Round⚽ Number of games📅 Date
Quarter-finals4July 4–6
Semi-finals2July 9–10

CONMEBOL Copa América bet types

All sports have unique bet types, and soccer is no exception. If you’ve been browsing Copa América bets at online bookmakers you’ve probably seen terms like “Asian spreads” or “double chance” pop up quite a bit.

Here’s a quick explanation of all the main Copa América bet types and what makes them unique compared to other sports:

A soccer-themed banner that reads "Moneyline", with a ball, trophy, and whistle

Moneylines

The classic bet for any sport, moneylines are just a flat bet on who you think will win the match. Moneylines in the Copa América work a bit differently depending on the stage. Group stage matches will have three-way moneylines to provide the option of a tie, while knockout stage matches will only have two options.
"Double chance" text, surrounded by soccer imagery and a plus and minus sign

Double chance

Why choose between two options when you can have both? Copa América group stage matches feature double chance bets, where you can lower the risk by betting on two possible outcomes. So you can bet on the home team to win or draw, the away team to win or draw, or both teams to draw. Since there are no ties in the knockout stage, this bet type will be unavailable.
"Props" text next to a jersey and soccer ball

Props

Bookmakers love to put in a few unique bet types for every sport, known as props, and soccer is no different. We’ve spotted a few fun Copa América prop bets such as the amount of goals scored in the first 10 minutes, and how many goals a player will score in a match.
"Asian spreads" text surrounded by soccer bet slips, ball, and coins

Asian spreads

These bets will play a much bigger role in the group stage when weaker teams battle stronger ones. Asians spreads give goals to the underdog, so the favorite will need to win by more goals than the amount awarded for the bet to be won. For example, if an Asian spread gives the US +3 goals against Argentina, Argentina must win by 4 goals for the bet to succeed.
"Halftime/fulltime" text next to a trophy, soccer ball, and whistle

Halftime/fulltime

Another type of double bet, halftime/fulltime bets involve predicting which team will be leading in both halves. If you think Costa Rica will dominate Peru in both halves, you might try your chances with a Costa Rica/Costa Rica bet.
"Futures"' text surrounded by soccer imagery and a calendar

Futures

A classic bet type for any tournament, futures let you predict who will take home the cup. Copa América tends to have some fun futures, such as futures for who will take the different post-tournament awards or who will rank first in their groups.

Betting strategies and tips for the CONMEBOL Copa América

So what’s the best way to bet on the Copa América? Like all sports, soccer has a few intricacies that can completely change how you bet.

  • Info-Icon

    Know who’s participating

All CONMEBOL teams will be participating, but CONCACAF teams need to qualify. Players also get drafted specifically for the Copa América, and often young blood gets a chance to shine at this tournament. Gio Reyna is already looking to be the US’s star player at just 21 years of age.

  • Planeta

    Check World Cup Qualifiers

The Copa América closely follows the World Cup Qualifiers, which means you already have a wealth of information on a national team’s current form at your disposal. Follow these matches, analyze the strategies used, and see each team’s form when looking for Copa América favorites.

  • Odds

    Understand early vs in-play odds

At +175 odds, you could potentially win $175 with a $100 stake on Argentina even though they are the clear favorite. This is because future bets tend to have longer odds due to the lack of ongoing information. If you wait to bet while a match is live, you’ll have more info but much shorter odds. Keep this in mind when choosing whether to wait for a match or risk an early bet for higher betting odds.

  • Problema Mundial

    Check the weather

Soccer is an outdoor sport, and the weather has a bigger impact on it than you might realize. Players will generally get tired much faster on stormy days, leading to more substitutions and poorer form. If you see Brazil’s Endrick starting on the bench on a stormy day, there’s a good chance the coach is saving him for later.

  • Documento

    Stay up to date

We’ve already seen two major injuries with Messi and Neymar heavily affecting the 2024 Copa América. Keep your eyes on the news, or you’ll miss out on vital information that could inform your betting.

  • Icona Medaglia

    Look out for post-tournament awards

The Copa América format involves five post-tournament awards that bookmakers also like to open bets for. If you see Chile’s captain Claudio Bravo saving loads of goals, maybe consider him a contender for ‘Best Goalkeeper’.
