Editor's note: how we rank operators

These Euro betting sites are ranked according to the odds and quality of their Euro markets.

If you see a bookie with a lower ‘Sports and markets’ rating ranking higher on the list, it means that while this sportsbook may lack in other sports and leagues, it excels in soccer betting and tailors the offer to the UEFA European Championship.

The top three betting sites for the Euro

Finding the best site for Euro betting can be tricky, which is why our experts are here to help. We’ve got three recommendations for the best Euro betting sites on the market.

These selections are based on the site’s Euro odds and betting options, as well as any Euro in-play betting features. Not to mention the overall quality of the site, such as transaction methods and Responsible Gambling (RG) safety tools that are found at the best US sportsbooks.

🥇#1 Sportzino — best overall experience

If you’re looking for the best Euro betting experience, then Sportzino social sportsbook is the best choice on the market.

It boasts 32 futures, including outright winners, runners-up, group winners, and group qualifiers. Once the games start you’ll be able to benefit from live streams, with live parlays boosts on the Euro matches.

The cherry on top of this cake — it’s all free. Thanks to the daily login bonus of 20,000 GC and one SC you won’t need to spend a dime while betting on the Euro at Sportzino.

🥈#2 BetRivers — best real-money sportsbook

BetRivers is one of the largest real-money sportsbooks on the scene, being available in 15 US states. BetRiver’s size has allowed it to invest in great betting tools, such as detailed stats for every Euro match next to all the available bets powered by GTG Network.

BetRivers players can also benefit from same-game parlays on all Euro 2024 matches, as well as live streams with in-game data being displayed and updated at lightning-fast speed.

🥉#3 bet365 — best for Euro markets

The giant betting site from across the Atlantic, it’s no surprise bet365 has excellent Euro markets.

The sportsbook offers a ton of unique Euro prop bets, such as betting on a team to win from behind, or a team to score in both halves. You can also add, swap, or remove sections of your Euro bets, pre-game and during live play, all while taking advantage of soccer parlay boosts of up to 70%.

Bet365 also has the current group standings on a tab next to the bets, so you can get the most recent data when betting on Euro soccer matches.

The best Euro odds

Betting odds refer to the potential winnings that a bookmaker sets for a particular bet. These potential winnings can vary depending on how likely the bookmaker believes the event will occur.

The US uses American odds, also known as moneyline odds, which are a number preceded by a + or – sign. The + or – indicates the underdog or the favorite, respectively.

For example, a match between Spain and Croatia might have -150 for Spain and +400 for Croatia. For Spain, you will need to bet $150 to win $100 since they’re the favorite. For Croatia, you will get $400 for every $100 you stake since they’re the underdog.

Odds can also come as one single number, which is often used for Euro future bets.

The 2024 European Championship winner — Spain

Spain takes the win! In a close game throughout, Spain sealed the deal with a late 86th-minute goal from Mikel Oyarzabal, finishing the game at 2–1 against the favorites to win England. This win also makes Spain the most successful team in the Euros with four wins, giving them more wins than any other team.

The Euro format and schedule explained

Qualification for the UEFA European Championship starts in the preceding years. Tournament hosts are qualified to play automatically, while other teams will be split into groups and play each other for qualification.

Since there can be multiple hosts, the qualification stage can vary from tournament to tournament. Traditionally, the top two teams from each group qualify for the Euro, with any remaining places decided through play-offs according to their ranking in the UEFA Nations League.

The UEFA European Championship is played in two stages: the group stage and the knockout phase. The winner then goes on to face the winner of the Copa América the following year at the CONMEBOL-UEFA Cup of Champions.

Group stage

The group stage splits the 24 qualifying teams into six groups, with team members from each group playing each other in a round-robin format. Six matches will be played in each group, with three points awarded to match winners, and one point awarded to each team in the case of a tie.

Once all the matches have been played, all group winners and runners-up will advance to the knockout phase, and four of the third-place teams will also advance depending on their overall points.

In the case of a tie for points, UEFA will use these rules as a tiebreaker, in order of importance:

  1. Highest goal difference from the matches played between the tied teams
  2. Highest goals scored from the matches played between the tied teams
  3. Highest goal difference in all group matches played
  4. Highest goals scored in all group matches played
  5. Subtraction of points based on disciplinary actions (one point for a yellow card, three points for a red card)
  6. A penalty shoot-out (this will only be used if only two teams are tied for points)
  7. Highest position in the European Qualifiers overall ranking, or a drawing of lots if the host is one of the tied teams

Knockout phase

Once the group stage is complete, qualifying teams will move on to the knockout phase. Here matches are played using a knockout system, where the winner progresses while the loser is eliminated.

If a winner is not decided by the end of the 90-minute mark, an extra 30 minutes are added on. If it’s still a tie, teams will engage in a penalty shoot-out till a clear winner emerges.

Previous UEFA Euro winners

The Euro tends to see the same winners and runners-up, with 10 national teams having won the Euro over 16 different championships. Spain is the only team to have won the event four times, with Germany close behind with three wins under its belt.

Being a previous winner or even a favorite to win is no guarantee, as was seen by Greece when they beat +15000 odds in a shock 2004 Euro victory. Still, learning about the previous winners can help give an edge to your Euro bets.

UEFA Euro bet types

Bookmakers like to use several unique bets for the Euro Championship. These include three-way moneylines for the group stages and outright wins for the final.

There are a few other common Euro bets, which we’ve detailed below:

Moneyline text, surrounded by soccer imagery

Moneylines

The most common bet type, moneylines are bets on which team will win a match. The Euro group stage has three-way moneylines, one bet for each team to win plus one bet for a tie. The knockout phase has two-way moneylines, with the tie option being dropped.
'Double chance' text, surrounded by soccer imagery and a plus or minus sign

Double chance

A popular type of soccer moneyline bet, double chance bets are a way of hedging your bets by backing two possible outcomes. You can bet on the home team to win or draw (1X), the away team to win or draw (2X), or both teams to win (12).
'Props' text surrounded by soccer imagery

Props

It wouldn’t be a UEFA event without some fun props. Prop bets are the weird and wacky bets that don’t fit anywhere else, with common props being a team’s exact goals, the time of the first goal, and whether a player will score, miss, or save a penalty.
'Asian spreads' text surrounded by soccer imagery and bet slips

Asian spreads

A unique moneyline bet that’s common in the group stage, when teams of varying quality play against each other. Asian handicaps award goals to the underdog. An Asian spread between England and Georgia might give Georgia +2 goals, meaning if Georgia wins the match or loses by less than 2 goals then the bet is still won.
'Halftime/fulltime' text surrounded by soccer imagery

Halftime/fulltime

A variation on soccer double chance bets, halftime/fulltime bets let you predict who you think will be leading the match at the end of the first and second halves. If you think Italy might have a strong start but then be overtaken by France in the second half, you could try an Italy/France bet.
'Futures' text surrounded by soccer imagery and a calendar

Futures

Bookmakers love future, or outright, bets whenever any big tournament comes up. These bets will be available months in advance, and let you predict who will be the overall winner. Bookmakers tend to have additional Euro futures for the runner-up position, or qualifiers of the group stages.

Betting strategies and tips for the Euros

Betting on the Euro can differ from betting on other sports, such as ties only being possible during the group stage. We’ve placed a few tips below on how to bet on the Euro, to help you get the most out of this popular soccer tournament.

  • Info-Icon

    Understand the rules

Soccer bookmakers like to put specific rules on their bets, so make sure to check them out. Most sportsbooks won’t count extra time or penalty shoot-outs towards certain prop or halftime/fulltime bets, and if the match doesn’t go to fulltime most wagers are lost.

  • Planeta

    Check their history

National teams need to play a ton of matches just to qualify for the Euro, so take advantage of that. Check out the Euro qualifiers, and get an idea of how these teams have already fared against each other.

  • Odds

    Get in early

Euro outrights tend to have better payouts than other bet types since the Euro matches would not have started yet. Keep in mind that nothing is guaranteed, but if you have a strong belief that a particular team will win then you might want to bet earlier rather than later.

  • Documento

    Read the news

An ACL ligament may only be 0.4 inches wide, but if a player tears that he could be out for the whole tournament. Weather also plays a large part since matches are all played outside, with more substitutions on rainy days thanks to tired players. Keep your eyes on the news, and factor into your strategy.

  • Icona Tasse

Know which bet type to use

The Euros have different bet types for a reason. Double chance bets are much better suited for close matches against evenly matched opponents, where the outcome can be unpredictable.

  • Analyze Euro group matchups

The groups for the Euros have been set months in advance, so look at them. If a strong team is seeded into a group of weak opponents, a future bet to qualify from the group stage might be wiser than a bet to win outright.

Research methodology

To decide which sportsbooks are the best for the UEFA European Championship we use a detailed, data-driven research methodology. We make sure that each sportsbook is operating legally, and then filter out the legal ones based on the availability of UEFA markets.

From there we look at the fairness of their odds and their average soccer payouts, comparing with market data so the best ones reach the top of the rankings. We look at their specific Euro promos, betting features, and markets. Finally, we analyze the overall quality of the sportsbook itself, including its customer support, platform, transaction methods, and mobile availability.
