The World Cup is drawing to a close, and the transfer window is ramping up because the major moves can finally begin, both in Italy and abroad. The transfer market is waiting on plenty of key players who have already left the United States.

Ederson Heads from Brazil to Old Trafford

Brazil exited the tournament earlier than anyone expected, and Carlo Ancelotti will remain on the bench for the upcoming Copa América. Meanwhile, Ederson is heading back to Europe with a massive medical exam ahead of him.

Manchester United has a total verbal agreement with both the player and Atalanta for €45 million, including add-ons. However, the medical will need to be completed in England for a final verdict before anyone signs. It’s just one of many post-World Cup transfer stories currently unfolding.

Rafael Leão and the Portuguese market shifts

Keep a close eye on Rafael Leão. The Milan winger is still expected to leave this summer, even with fellow countryman Rúben Amorim taking over as manager and his close friend Gonçalo Ramos on the roster.

Leão would prefer a move to La Liga or the Premier League, but he already has offers on the table from Turkey.

Quote of Fabricio Romano about Trincao

The newest development, however, involves approaches from Saudi Arabia, where his compatriot Francisco Trincão is also set to sign soon.

The operation is underway with Al-Ahli, who just parted ways with Riyad Mahrez in recent days. Contacts are ongoing with Sporting CP for a fee between €45 million and €50 million. Trincão is open to signing, and with Portugal now out of the World Cup, the process is expected to accelerate.

Juve needs to stay patient in the keeper hunt

Juventus is going to have to play the waiting game here. Argentina is still alive at the World Cup, and Emiliano “Dibu” Martínez is the absolute dream target for manager Luciano Spalletti. Even with the recent front-office shakeup, sporting director Giovanni Carnevali is still pushing hard to make it happen.

Juve wants Dibu, plain and simple. But as long as Argentina is playing in the States, these talks aren’t going anywhere. On top of that, Aston Villa is still demanding a massive fee. If it falls through, the backup plan is Guglielmo Vicario—he’s ready to move on from Tottenham and would say yes to the Bianconeri in a heartbeat.

Roma facing a tough hill to climb for Garnacho

Alejandro Garnacho wasn’t called up for the tournament.

Fabrizio Romano quote about Chelsea not accepting a loan deal

The Chelsea winger has been linked to Roma, but as of right now, there are no advanced talks with any Italian clubs. Gian Piero Gasperini is a big fan of the player, but things haven’t moved forward—mostly because Chelsea has completely ruled out a loan deal and will only listen to permanent offers.

Under those conditions, it’s going to be incredibly tough for Roma to even think about making a move.

More on the international market: PSG’s busy revolving door

The international market is all about who’s out of the World Cup… and who’s still alive. Kang-in Lee and South Korea said goodbye to the tournament days ago, and the PSG winger is now close to signing with Atlético Madrid for over €40 million.

Quote of Fabrizio Romano about PSG wanting to buy Akliouche from Monaco

To replace him, Paris Saint-Germain is pushing hard to land Maghnes Akliouche from Monaco (having already locked down personal terms with the player) and they’re keeping a close eye on Yan Diomandé following the departure of Gonçalo Ramos.

Meanwhile, everyone is waiting to see when Randal Kolo Muani will pack his bags. Juventus wants him, but for now, they consider his price tag a bit too high. There’s still plenty of time to negotiate, and to be fair, Kolo Muani is practically used to this kind of drama since last summer.

The transfer window keeps spinning, but for now, the focus shifts back to the pitch and the World Cup action.
