We’re barely into the summer soccer transfer window, but Italian clubs already know who they want for the new season. Most of the targets are foreign, the groundwork is already laid, and it’s now just a question of how the details fall into place.

Foreign targets and how they’re shaking up Italian soccer

A prime example? Bernardo Silva, Juventus’s dream signing to rebuild their midfield. The Bianconeri made a genuine run at him, even meeting with his agent Mendes, but nothing will come of it: without Champions League football, the Portuguese midfielder won’t be heading to Turin.

Bernardo Silva’s future will be in Spain: Barcelona or Atlético Madrid, with the former considered the frontrunners.

Juventus want Alisson, got offered Dibu, and Kolo Muani is back on the table

Meanwhile, the other Juventus target, Alisson, remains at Liverpool. In this case, missing out on the Champions League isn’t the issue. Alisson would have said yes to Juventus regardless, but Liverpool Sporting Director Hughes shut everything down because he doesn’t want to lose another leader after Robertson, Salah, and Konaté. Juventus has been offered “Dibu” Emiliano Martínez again, who is eager for a fresh start away from Birmingham, though David De Gea hasn’t generated much excitement.

Another foreign arrival could be Randal Kolo Muani, or rather, a return to Juventus. The player has already given his blessing and misses the club, but Paris Saint-Germain is setting the price and is in no rush. The soap opera is reopening.

Will Curtis Jones join Inter Milan?

Inter Milan’s top target comes from England and remains Curtis Jones: two meetings have already taken place with Liverpool, the player is fully on board, but there’s still a significant gap in asking price between the two clubs. The €20 million Inter is thinking about isn’t enough, even with Jones’s contract running through 2027, but talks are ongoing.

What about Roma?

They’re also looking outside Italy: Mason Greenwood is a priority for Gian Piero Gasperini, though competition and price will ultimately determine whether a deal is possible. It won’t be easy, but one thing is certain. Roma wants to bring in a top-level winger to raise the bar for their Champions League campaign.

Como’s special relationship with Real Madrid

Como could once again dip into the Spanish market, Madrid specifically, following the arrivals of Nico Paz and Jacobo Ramón. There are active talks for Cesar Palacios, a gem from Real Madrid who could leave this summer in search of regular playing time. Could he be the next Nico? Como has been working behind the scenes.

A wildcard everyone wants

The wildcard surprise heading from abroad to Italy could be a name that stirs some bitter memories: Kerim Alajbegović, the Bosnian winger who knocked the Italian national team out of the World Cup. He’s keen on experiencing Italian football, and Bayer Leverkusen may be open to letting him go. Roma has been considering him for months, Napoli has him on their list, though they’ve just exercised their option on Alisson Santos in the meantime. And what if Atalanta, under Maurizio Sarri, entered the picture? Another foreign idea… a feeling that keeps growing.
