I like the way ZumbaCards combines social games with card collecting. The key highlight of this site is its 950+ games, which offer players an impressive variety of slots and arcade games. ZumbaCards’ daily bonus is also a standout feature, since it’s capped at a maximum of 5 SC and one epic card daily. It’s really trying to offer the best of both social casinos and mystery boxes.

Despite these great points, some things don’t work for me here. The main issue is that SCs aren’t awarded with the registration bonus, which puts you in a position where you have to make a purchase just to play games and even to unlock the daily bonus. That means those two highlights are behind a paywall, which isn’t ideal.

I still feel that ZumbaCards is a good platform and it’s on the right track. It’s not one I’d recommend as your first mystery box site. There are options out there that make it easier and more rewarding for newcomers

How does ZumbaCards work?

ZumbaCards is a mystery box site that pairs card collecting with social casino games. There are five levels of cards that you can collect: common, rare, epic, and legendary. Each one is stronger than the previous, with different characteristics. Cards are awarded in the registration bonus and can be bought in the mystery boxes. You also use the cards in the daily card tournaments to increase your XP.

You can’t redeem cards for cash, however, nor can they be used for playing games. This is why ZumbaCards also has Special Coins (SCs). These coins are awarded via the daily bonus or as freebies in the mystery boxes. They can be redeemed for cash prizes, for a minimum of 100 SCs.

Bonuses and loyalty at ZumbaCards

After you’ve registered at ZumbaCards, you’ll receive five cards to start your journey with. No SCs are given with these first five cards, so you need to make a purchase to start playing games.

There are two first-purchase discounts available for you to choose one:

• $20 for five cards, 20 SCs + 20 bonus SCs
• $50 for five cards, 50 SCs + 50 bonus SCs

The bonus SCs are subject to a 5x playthrough requirement before requesting a withdrawal. The main SCs in the box have a 1x playthrough requirement, since they’re not bonus SCs.

ZumbaCards has a progressive daily bonus but you need to spend 1 SC before you can claim it. The first day in your streak will award you with 0.10 SC, followed by 0.15 SC on day two. On the third day, you’ll get 0.20 SC and one common card. Your next card will be awarded on day seven. 

The SC values steadily increase, and cards of different levels are awarded every seven days. The maximum daily bonus you can be awarded is 5 SC and one epic card, which is what’s given on day 50 and every day after that.

Bonus facts

Your cards can be put towards daily tournaments, which can be opted into or out of at any time. By visiting the daily tournaments page, you can opt in and see which battles are currently ongoing and how many participants have joined them. The tournaments run automatically and are managed by ZumbaCards’ system, so there are no animations or screens that you need to see while they’re ongoing.

Before joining a tournament, you can see your card collection and build your deck by choosing which cards you want to play and in which order you want them to be played. You’ll gain 5 XP from every tournament that you take part in, regardless of whether you win or lose your battles.

Earning XP through daily tournaments and collecting cards contributes to increasing your level in the loyalty club. There are six tiers. All players start on Iron and the highest tier is Platinum. From the second tier, every player receives a discount on boxes and higher tiers have access to the loyalty club, which includes access to other promotions.

With the friend referral bonus, you’ll earn SCs for every friend who makes a qualifying purchase. There aren’t specific details given on how many SCs or what is considered a qualifying purchase.

Games available at ZumbaCards

There are 950+ games available at ZumbaCards. The collection consists of slots, arcade games, and RNG table games.

The slots make up the majority of the collection, with over 800 available. Within that number, there are nine Megaways games, which are all provided by BGaming. The Hold and Win collection is bigger, with 32 games available, many of these provided by Booming Games. There’s also a section dedicated to cascading reels, where you’ll find another 20 slots.

As for the themes, there’s a bit of everything: animals, crystals, Mexican, Greek mythology, genies, sweets, fishing, and Wild West are just a few. Besides the fishing-themed slots, there’s a handful of fish shooters, too.

You’ll find a small collection of arcade games, but you need to search for them by name. There are 15 Plinko games, three Mines games, and 13 dice games. As for RNG table games, it’s a small choice that includes one blackjack game, one craps game, and four poker games. Roulette games aren’t available and there aren’t any live casino games.

Before requesting a redemption, you need to playthrough your SCs at least 1x, and the minimum redemption requirement is 100 SCs.

Is ZumbaCards safe?

ZumbaCards is operated by Thinkway Ltd, a company that’s registered in the Isle of Man. All payments are processed by Thinkway LLC, which is registered in Wilmington, Delaware. It has 256-bit SSL encryption with ECDSA technology and the card battles work with RNGs. It’s not written if the games use RNGs, but ZumbaCards partners with reputable software providers, which are audited by third-parties.

As part of the KYC process, you need to provide ZumbaCards with a valid photo ID and proof of address. The verification process is handled by Veriff.

Safety facts

The dedicated RG page says that ZumbaCards takes player well-being seriously, and are committed to promoting a safe and fair environment. It lists the GAA, NFCC, FCAA, and Smart Mobile Gamers as professional organizations you can turn to, and also lists how to recognize problematic gaming behavior.

Purchase limits can be set up to control your spending. There aren’t any minimums or parameters given by ZumbaCards, but instead players just need to enter the figure they want to use as a limit.

The other tools are a cooling-off period and self-exclusion. A cooling-off period lasts 24 hours and is the stage before you confirm a self-exclusion period, which starts at a minimum of one week, running up to six months or even permanently. You need to input your password to set up any RG tools.

Reaching out to support at ZumbaCards

Customer support is available via email and live chat. There are two email addresses available, one is for regular queries and the other is for payment specific queries. When I tested out the email support service, the response time was around 25 minutes. The agents gave clear answers, which didn’t require me to give any clarification.

The live chat service is available via a widget. There’s a small FAQs section within the chat widget, but the service is initially provided by an AI chatbot, which gives decent scripted answers to your questions. You can request a human agent at any time, although I experienced a waiting time of around 10 minutes, and responses weren’t immediate. Fortunately the responses were very helpful.

In the footer there’s a link for the Help Center, which is where you’ll find a detailed FAQs section. This is divided into account setup, cards and tournaments, purchases and rewards, account management, verification, and RG.

The usability of ZumbaCards’ platform

ZumbaCards has a very straightforward UX, which makes the site approachable and friendly for players to use. Navigation took me seconds to get to grips with and the site has an appealing design, with smooth edges and vibrant pops of color.

The sidebar menu has the key shortcuts, like lobby, promotions, providers, card collection, and daily tournaments. There’s also a big handy button that says “Buy Coins” at the top, so all your key needs are covered.

There aren’t many useful game filters in the lobby, so the search bar is a great tool for finding the games you’re looking for. ZumbaCards also doesn’t have a page dedicated to explaining how the platform works, or the value behind each card.

Usability facts

The site runs smoothly on Chrome, Firefox, and Safari, and there’s a web app that’s available for download. This offers immediate access to the site, but you can run it in your mobile browser, too.
