Expert verdict

Spree.com is an excellent casino and one of the best sweepstakes casinos on our site.

All of its promos offer high value to the player, ensuring you can keep playing daily without needing to spend a dime. The games library is massive, with over 750 slots alone including megaways, hold and win, and unlimited play slots. It’s also one of the few sweeps casinos to feature live games, three in total.

It’s not flawless. Spree is missing jackpots and there’s no live chat or mobile app. However, the pros far outweigh the cons, and we heartily recommend Spree.com to anyone looking for a great sweepstakes casino.

State differences

Spree.com is available in 42 US states. There are eight restricted states where the site is unavailable: Alabama, Georgia, Idaho, Kentucky, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, and Washington.

The casino’s games, promos, and features are identical no matter which state you play from. The only difference is in the redemption rules — residents of New York and Florida are limited to a 5,000 Spree Coins maximum per redemption.

How does Spree.com casino work?

Spree.com uses two currencies, Gold Coins (GC) and Spree Coins (SC). Both can be acquired through participating in casino promos, purchasing them through coin packages, or winning them through gameplay.

GC can only be used on Spree.com’s site, and its only use is as an entry fee for the various Spree games. GC has no value outside of Spree.com’s site.

SC that has been played through once, referred to as “Redeemable Spree Coins” on Spree’s site, has a value of one SC to one US dollar and can be redeemed for either gift cards or cash prizes. SC that has been unused for 60 days will be removed from your account balance.

Spree casino bonus — 1,000,000 GC + 2.5 SC

Newcomers to Spree.com are welcomed with a no-purchase bonus of 1,000,000 GC and 2.5 SC. These coins are automatically credited to your account the moment the account has been created and verified.

Newcomers also get a first-purchase bonus of 30,000 GC and 30 SC for $9.99. This represents a 200% increase from the base offering.

Returning players meanwhile benefit from daily credits. Simply tap the ‘Claim Daily Coins’ button to receive 2,000 GC and either 0.40, 0.65, or 2.50 SC, depending on how many days you have consecutively logged in. Existing players can also try their luck with prize drops, by playing eligible games and winning between 5 to 100 SC.

Finally, players can send a unique referral code using the refer-a-friend promo. Once the referral has signed up and made a purchase worth $15 or more in total, you’ll receive 10 free SC. There is no limit to how many friends you can refer.

Bonus rating

82/100 Quality over quantity of promos
  • Game-specific prize drops
  • No limit on friend referral promo
  • No VIP program
  • Limited daily SC handed out

So I won’t lie, there are sweepstakes casinos out there with more promos. Zula casino for example offers seven ongoing promos, as well as a detailed VIP program which is not present at Spree.com.

However, what Spree lacks in quantity, it makes up for in quality. The welcome bonus is huge, offering 1,000,000 GC on a site where the minimum spin for most slots is just 70 GC.

Almost all of the promos have generous terms, such as there being no limit on how many friends you can refer, or giving out large amounts, such as the payment promo offering a 200% increase to the base price.

My only complaint is that the daily credits give out a low amount of SC in the beginning, forcing players to log in regularly to gain a meaningful amount of SC. Still, it’s a nitpick and I’m happy with Spree’s promos overall.

Spree.com’s 750+ games

Spree.com has over 750 games available, most of which are slots. This includes megaways, hold and wins, feature triggers, unlimited play, and retro reels. One of the slots, Diamond Spree Explosion, is exclusive to Spree.com.

Spree also has one table game, Texas Holdem Poker, and three live games: Gravity Blackjack, Live Roulette, and Live Baccarat. These can be accessed by clicking the ‘Casino’ button on the left-side menu.

There are no jackpots available at Spree.com, nor are any demos available for any of the games. The minimum entry fee for most games is 70 GC, though some like Live Baccarat can go as low as 5 GC. The exception is Gravity Blackjack, with a minimum entry fee of 10,000 GC.

Games rating

91/100 A gigantic games library that lacks variety
  • 3 live games available
  • Over 750 slots
  • No jackpots
  • No demo play

750+ games is on the higher end of the spectrum when it comes to sweeps games libraries. Luckybird.io for instance only has just over 200 games, and no live games are available on that site.

Spree.com does seem to have focused almost entirely on slots, which is a bit of a double-edged sword. On the one hand, Spree’s slot offering is varied with any slot type, theme, or feature you can think of available on the site.

On the other hand, if you’re interested in games that aren’t slots you’ve unfortunately come to the wrong place. There’s only one table game and zero jackpots available. If Spree wants that perfect 100 score, it will need to vary up its overall offering a little, maybe throw in a few niche games like keno and scratch cards.

16 software providers at Spree.com

Spree.com sweepstakes casino has 16 software providers. These include big names such as Pragmatic Play, Rubyplay, and BGaming. One of the providers, BETER Live, provides the three live games for Spree.com.

Software rating

95/100 Loads of great software providers
  • Live provider available
  • Instant play available
  • No bespoke software

Spree.com really pulled out all the stops for their software providers, with 16 providers available including a live provider and a deal with Rubyplay to make exclusive games.

To compare with two sites we gave a perfect 100 score, Hello Millions and Jackpota both have 18 and 17 providers respectively. Spree.com is incredibly close to these two competitors, and far ahead of everyone else.

So why didn’t Spree also get a perfect score? The site lacks bespoke software, meaning it lacks games with software tailor-made for the site. This is mitigated somewhat by the deal with Rubyplay, but having their own software instead of relying on a third-party provider would benefit Spree and the players greatly in the long run, as it would allow games to be run specifically for Spree’s site and on Spree’s terms.

Spree casino transaction methods

Spree.com has five transaction methods. These include three purchase methods and two redemption methods.

To purchase coin packages, players can use VISA, Mastercard, or Apple Pay. Purchases are processed instantly, with the coins appearing straight away in your account balance. The minimum purchase package is usually $4.99, though occasionally a $0.99 option appears as a promo.

Redemptions can be done through bank transfer or as a gift card, at a rate of one SC to one US dollar. Gift card redemptions can be as low as 10 SC, and are processed between 24–48 hours. Bank transfer redemptions require a minimum of 75 SC, and can take up to 10 days to be processed. Players can request a redemption once every 48 hours.

Payments rating

84/100 Good with room for improvement
  • Fast gift card redemptions
  • No transaction fees
  • No unified transaction option
  • Up to 10 days for bank transfer redemptions

Five payment methods is pretty standard for a sweeps casino. Most, like Sweeptastic, Crown Coins, and Fortune Coins, offer around 5–6 payment methods, so Spree.com isn’t doing too much to stand out from the crowd here.

I do love the gift card option though, which stands out above the rest. Not only does it have a shockingly low minimum SC requirement, but it’s also processed quite fast. If you’re happy with getting a gift card then Spree.com is the place to be.

The problems mostly come from a lack of convenience. I’m not happy to see there isn’t at least one unified transaction option, meaning you need a method to place purchases and a separate method for redemptions. It’s a hassle, especially since most people like to stick with one option for everything.

I’m also not fond of the only cash redemption option being much worse than the gift card option. A 75 SC minimum seems harsh, with most sites like Crown Coins and Fortune Coins sticking to 50 SC minimum. Ten days is a long time to wait, especially when you already have Apple Pay available which is known for its fast processing times.

Safety features of Spree.com

Spree.com makes use of a strong 256-bit SSL encryption with RSA technology to keep your private information safe. There is also two-factor authentication (TFA) available to add an extra layer of safety.

Clicking on the ‘Responsible Gaming’ button in the footer leads to their Responsible Gaming (RG) page which includes links to helpful sites. There are also tools for a cooling-off period, referred to as “Take a Break,” and self-exclusion. Players can use the Take a Break tool for a period of seven, 14, or 30 days, or self-exclude for a minimum of six months.

Safety rating

85/100 Safe but lacking in RG tools
  • Strong SSL encryption
  • TFA available
  • No RG limiters

If you’re looking for a site that won’t let all your private data get stolen, then Spree.com won’t let you down. Its SSL and TFA combo all but guarantees that your data is safe with them.

Their RG offering is a different matter. I like the Take a Break and self-exclusion tools, but there are no RG limiters such as tools to limit gameplay, purchase amounts, or play amount. These tools would go a long way to making Spree.com a safe site for everyone.

If you want to see how a sweeps casino should handle RG, look at Golden Hearts Games with its RG platform and partnership with Birches Health. Spree.com doesn’t need to go that far, but it can add a few more tools at least.

Three support options at Spree.com casino

Spree.com offers 24/7 customer support through its three support methods. Players can email Spree’s support team at any time of the day, or try to solve the problem themselves by heading to the FAQ and Help Center. If players have a payment problem, they can contact Spree.com through phone support.

Email responses came in quickly, at just under 30 minutes from when the question was sent. Responses were clear and detailed, with no follow-up needed. It is important to note that the email option is only available to registered users.

The FAQ can be accessed by clicking the ‘Help Center’ button on the left-side menu. You’ll then be sent to an extensive FAQ that’s split into seven sections: My Account, Verification, Purchase, Promotions, Games, General, and Safer Gaming. There is also a search bar to help you get to your specific query faster.

Support rating

93/100 Fast and detailed support team
  • Phone support available
  • Emails replies within 30 minutes
  • No live chat

I’m a huge fan of the customer support team at Spree.com. Their responses were fast, detailed, and on-point. I was especially impressed how responses came in under 30 minutes even at odd hours.

The FAQ is also great, with loads of answers to many common queries. Most players should be able to solve their problems just by checking out the FAQ available.

I liked that phone support was an option, as it’s rare in sweeps casinos, but I was a bit sad to see it’s only available for payment issues. Still, limited phone support is better than no phone support, so I’ll take it.

Usability of Spree’s platform

Spree.com uses a blue-on-yellow color scheme with large buttons that are intuitive and easy to use. The site lets you filter games by type, theme, and provider, and also has an advanced search bar if you wish to find a specific game.

Spree homepage on two mobile devices

There is no Spree.com mobile app, however the website is specifically optimized to be mobile-first. All of the games and features are available on both desktop and mobile.

Usability rating

86/100 Intuitive and easy-to-use site
  • Advanced filters
  • Glitch-free site
  • No mobile app
  • Hard-to-find terms

I really like scrolling through Spree’s site. It’s fast and efficient, with plenty of filters to help me get right where I want to go.

I especially liked that the site was built mobile-first. Nowadays most people use their phones to access their favorite sites, so it’s important for sweeps casinos to be fully functional on mobile. I would have preferred a dedicated app myself but to each their own.

My main complaint is that not all terms and conditions are easy to find. For example, the terms for the refer-a-friend promo were easy to find, but the terms for the welcome bonus were nowhere to be seen. There’s an inconsistency in what is and isn’t shown on the site, which I hope Spree.com addresses soon.
