Expert verdict
BigPirate sweeps casino makes a real first impression if you go by looks. It’s playful, it appears well-crafted, and the theme is consistent throughout the site, making it an immersive sweeps experience.
There are definitely strong positives to this sweeps casino. The welcome offer, for instance, is pretty generous. You do only get two Diamonds with it, but you also get two Rum bottles, which gives you access to other features. The daily calendar is cool too, although I was hoping I’d get at least GCs out of that.
The game selection and the providers BigPirate works with are definitely worthy of a mention. By sweeps standards, 24 providers is impressive, and I was happy to see some big names on there. It explains why BigPirate has such a diverse selection of games, including the 90 live games, which isn’t common at sweeps.
On the other hand, there are areas where I expected more from BigPirate. With payments, for starters, I was letdown by the lack of options. VISA and Mastercard are the base line options, and not a single e-wallet is frustrating. The 50 Diamond minimum is great, but you still have to use your bank card to get it.
Overall, BigPirate offers a fantastic sweeps casino offering, nailing down design, appeal, games, and bonuses. It’s a great choice for greener players who are looking for a more playful sweeps casino and aren’t so bothered about their payment options.
State differences
BigPirate is available in most US states, but it’s restricted in the following: California, Connecticut, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, and Washington
How does BigPirate casino work?
BigPirate has two virtual coins. These are Gold Coins (GCs) and Diamonds, which are called Sweepstakes Coins at other casinos.
GCs can be used to play games like tokens. They can be bought in coin bundles or can be awarded as bonuses. Diamonds can’t be bought, but are often included as a freebie in coin bundles and in bonuses. When you have played through your Diamonds at least once in the casino, you can redeem them for a cash prize.
Besides these two coins, BigPirate also has Rum and Claw Machine Credits. Rum, represented as tiny bottles, can be collected in daily login bonuses and also as part of the coin bundles and bonuses. It’s also earned by playing the slots, where you’ll get one Rum bottle for every 10 Diamonds spent. Rum can be spent in the Reward Market on items like free spins and Claw Machine Credits.
Claw Machine Credits allow you to play on the claw machine, where you can gain more Diamonds and free spins. These credits can also be awarded as a freebie in coin bundles.
Bonuses and loyalty at BigPirate

- 150% extra: for $9.99 get 250,000 GC + 25 free Diamonds + one Rum bottle + one Claw credit

BigPirate also has some regular free SC bonuses for you to enjoy. First, there’s the daily calendar. With this, you can open a chest every day for additional Rum bottles. GCs, Diamonds, and Claw credits aren’t available in the daily login bonus.
There is also a daily Big Pirate game, where you can spin the slot to earn further coins to build your island with. This game also offers the chance to interact with other players by plundering and attacking their islands, and shielding your island from their attacks. Reaching milestones will reward you with GCs, Rum bottles, and other bonuses.
This feature also comes with 48-hour tournaments where you can compete for rewards. As you continue to play, you’ll discover and unlock new locations, which result in additional rewards.
In the sidebar menu, you’ll find the Wheel of Gold. You can spin the wheel if you have played 100,000 GC. This will award one spin. You can use as many spins per day as you like, so long as you have them available. The Wheel of Gold spins, and you’ll be awarded the prize it lands on, which can range from 500 GC to 100,000 GC.
If you want to earn more Diamonds, you can use the AMOE. With this, you’ll be credited with two free Diamonds after you’ve sent a handwritten letter by post to the address listed.
In the Reward Market, which is the shop, you can spend any Rum bottles you have to buy additional Claw credits, cash spins, and free spins on specific games.
BigPirate has Daily Challenges, which you can complete to earn extra GCs. This includes daily tasks like winning three times in a row, or making 100 spins in one game session. There are also weekly challenges that you need to fulfill within the week.
The casino also features in-house tournaments that run weekly and monthly. Each week, you can join the Live Social Casino tournament, with a prize pool of 1,000,000 GCs, and the Slot of the Week tournament, which has a prize pool of 1,000 Diamonds.
There’s also the Monthly Race, with a prize pool of 2,500 Diamonds. In these tournaments, you need to play the listed games and rank on the leaderboard to earn a cut of the prize pool.
Finally, BigPirate has a five-tier VIP program. The perks include a dedicated VIP manager, extra rewards, free Rum bottles when you level up, special purchase packages, and a special birthday gift. All players start on the first level after registration, and progression to the next level is based on your gaming experience in the sweeps casino.
Bonus rating
83/100 Intriguing regular promotions
- Diverse promotions available
- Decent welcome bonus
- No friend referral bonus
- No GCs or Diamonds in daily calendar
There’s a lot going on where BigPirate’s bonuses are concerned. The daily challenges, tournaments, the Big Pirate game, and VIP program are all big pluses. It’s a dynamic selection.
Although the welcome offer isn’t the biggest in terms of GCs, the bonus as a whole isn’t bad. With the 20,000 GC you get two Diamonds and two Rum bottles. With DimeSweeps, for instance, it was a bonus of 50,000 GC and just 1 SC. Plus, the Rum bottles are an additional “currency” in BigPirate, allowing you to buy things at the shop and to have free spins on the Big Pirate game, which can lead to more GCs.
The daily calendar, which is part of the Big Pirate game, is good, but it’s a shame that it doesn’t award GCs or Diamonds. Plus, BigPirate doesn’t have a friend referral bonus, which is an extra that most sweeps casinos have available. These are two popular ways players get free GCs or sweepstakes coins, and BigPirate doesn’t meet the expectations there.
Games available at BigPirate
BigPirate’s game library is stocked with 1,600+ games. The selection is made up of slots, table games, live dealer games, game shows, and mini games. There are also 10 scratch cards alongside mini games like Plinko, Mines, and HiLo.
When it comes to slots, this is the largest portion of all the games, with over 1,500 available. The slots cover a variety of themes like Egyptian, fruits, Jokers, Ancient Greek, fantasy, and Mexican. You’ll find classic games like the Starburst and Jack Hammer series from NetEnt, and other popular titles.

You’ll find 90 games in the live casino section. The breakdown is 22 blackjack tables, 19 baccarat and dice tables, 26 roulette tables, and seven poker tables. There are also two Video Poker games. If you prefer not to play live dealer tables, there are 31 table games in the RNG table games section, too.
The live section also has 17 game shows, which include titles like Monopoly Big Baller Live and Funky Time Live.
Games rating
96/100 The game library is the highlight
- 1,600+ games available
- 90 live casino games
- Exclusive games
- No fish tables
It was pretty hard to fault BigPirate’s game library, there’s just so much variety. The only fault I could really find was the lack of fish tables and shooters. Otherwise, BigPirate is doing a great job.
1,600+ games is fantastic for a sweeps casino, and there are few others I’ve come across that have more. WOW Vegas, one of the biggest names, has just over 1,000. It’s the 90 live games which is a standout for me, however, since most sweeps casinos only have a handful of live games. Spree, for instance, only has slots.
Plus, there’s more than one live poker option, which had me impressed. BigPirate has a sweet choice of exclusive games, too, not that common at sweeps casinos.
Software providers for BigPirate
BigPirate has partnered with 25 software providers. That includes names like 3 Oaks Gaming, Evolution, NoLimit City, NetEnt, BTG, and Playson. Hacksaw Gaming holds the largest share of games, with 224 games.
Live games are provided by ICONIC21 and Evolution.

Software rating
96/100 Quality providers for quality games
- 24 providers
- Two live games providers
- Works with key providers like NetEnt
- No bespoke software
To have a great game library, you need to work with good software providers, and BigPirate has both quality and quantity covered. 24 software providers? Great stuff. It’s good to see top names like NetEnt, Hacksaw Gaming, and Playson.
The two live providers also deserve a shoutout. ICONIC21 and Evolution are leaders in live games software, so fans of live dealer games should be satisfied with their options.
Payment methods accepted at BigPirate
BigPirate accepts Mastercard and VISA cards for purchases and for push-to-card redemptions. You can also use ACH Bank Transfers for redemptions. BigPirate doesn’t accept e-wallets or cryptocurrencies.
To make a redemption, you need a minimum redemption amount of 50 Diamonds, and all Diamonds must be played through the sweeps casino at least once before requesting a redemption. You also need to have completed your profile before making any redemption requests.
All players have a daily redemption cap of $2,500, but the monthly cap is based on your VIP level:
- Level 1: $30,000
- Level 2: $33,000
- Level 3: $39,000
- Level 4: $48,000
- Level 5: $60,000
Redemption times also vary according to your VIP level. Levels 1 and 2 have a 72-hour processing time, while Level 3 has a 48-hour processing time. Levels 4 and 5 will have their redemptions processed in 24 hours. Players are only allowed one redemption request per 24-hour period.
Players in Florida are limited to $5,000 for the maximum value of a single prize that can be redeemed.

You can check out the available coin bundles by pressing the “Get Gold” button on your account. There are 11 coin bundles, and the smallest bundle is worth $3.99. This will credit your account with 40,000 GC. If you pay a dollar more, you’ll get 50,000 GC and five free Diamonds.
The most expensive bundle is worth $999.99. This bundle credits you with 10,000,000, 1,000 free Diamonds, 100 free Rum bottles, and five free Claw Machine Credits.
Besides the 11 bundles, at the top of the page, there are special offers that change from time to time. These will include the welcome offer and time-sensitive offers.
Payments rating
68/100 Basic level payments, with super bundles thrown in
- $999.99 package for high rollers
- 50 Diamonds minimum redemption
- No e-wallets or cryptocurrency
- Redemption rates tied to your VIP status
This section is not quite so positive for BigPirate. VISA and Mastercard are the standard when it comes to payments at sweeps casinos, and they’re also the most basic options. E-wallets and crypto have become much more common and players expect to find them because they offer faster and more secure redemptions.
Just two payment options also isn’t a lot of choice. SweepsRoyal, for example, accepts 10 different payment methods, which includes PayPal and crypto.
A redeeming quality is BigPirate’s minimum redemption amount. 50 Diamonds is a much more accessible minimum redemption than the typical 100 SC I often come across.
Is BigPirate safe?
BigPirate is owned by Rafflefy Limited, a company based in Cyprus. The sweeps casino has 256-bit encryption with ECDSA technology, and in the FAQs, BigPirate states that all its games work with audited RNGs.
On the dedicated RG page, you’ll find an introduction to BigPirate’s approach to responsible gambling, tips for healthy and safe gameplay, and links to external resources for professional support. BigPirate lists Gamers Anonymous, Gaming Addicts Anonymous, American Addiction Center, and We Care.

As for tools, you can start by setting purchase limits on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. This is done by contacting the support team via email. You can also set game time limits. This is also done by contacting support via email.
You can set daily, weekly, and monthly game time limits to control how much time you want to spend on the sweeps casino during those time periods. You also have the option of self-exclusion, which will restrict your access to the platform. This last action is irreversible. Should you have any remaining Redeemable Diamonds, you can claim them within 21 days before you lose access to them.
Safety rating
65/100 RG tools need stronger time frames
- Informative RG page
- SSL encryption with ECDSA
- No specified limits for RG tools
- No specifics for self-exclusion
Safety specs wise, BigPirate does a good job. SSL encryption with ECDSA and a statement in the FAQs to say the games use RNGs are necessary features.
Where RG is concerned, things are bit murkier. The RG page is good, detailed, and accessible, but there’s too much freedom when it comes to limit setting. Players can just email support and request the time limits they think is best, which doesn’t support the player enough. Instead, the player can write the smallest time limit possible because there’s no minimum.
Self-exclusion also appears to be somewhat all or nothing, making it more of a permanent account closure, rather than an extended break. There’s no indication of time lines.
The same issue applies to the purchase limits, where again you email support and write your “desirable Gold Coins purchase limit and duration”. There’s not enough restriction to make it a tool that really safeguards players.
Reaching out to support at BigPirate
Customer support at BigPirate is available via email and 24/7 live chat. Email support can be contacted on [email protected]. It can take a few hours to days to get a response, but answers are clear and satisfactory.
If you need immediate help, you can use the live chat widget. A button at the bottom of the website will open the chat box for you, where you’ll wait to be put through to an agent. In my case, it was less than a minute. The live chat agents I spoke with were friendly and direct, answering my questions in a brief but helpful manner.

The FAQs cover different sections: general, account and verification, purchases, redemptions, technical issues, social casino, and rewards and promotions. Each section has several questions with useful answers. The button for the Help Center is at the bottom of the sidebar menu.
Support rating
83/100 24/7 live chat support is a big plus
- 24/7 live chat support
- Good FAQs
- No phone support
- Email support is slow
If you need guidance, the 24/7 live chat will be your go to. Email support takes longer, meaning if you have an urgent inquiry, you could be waiting a while. The FAQs are a great go-to, and I really loved how all the help information was immediatelly accessible in the Help Center. It’s streamlined and makes getting what you need easier and faster.
The live chat support was decent, what stands out is the response time. Agents are fast and get back to your questions quickly with decent answers.
To better support players, either improving the response time from email support, or introducing phone support, would really help. Stake.us is known for having excellent phone support, which is attractive for players.
The usability of BigPirate’s platform
BigPirate has a fun and friendly design, with bright colors and on-theme illustrations of pirates, parrots, and islands.

The welcoming design works well with the site’s UX, creating a comfortable gaming space that’s easy to navigate since everything is clearly labeled. The sidebar menu contains shortcuts to the redemptions and purchases pages, to the Big Pirate game, the Wheel of Gold, Claw Machine, Reward Market, and VIP page. Plus, you can jump to the Help Center at the bottom.
In the footer, you’ll find shortcuts to the major pages like the terms, sweepstakes page, and RG page.

The game lobby contains filters for providers, top, new, and popular games, exclusive games, live games, game shows, slots, blackjack, and roulette. There aren’t any filters for slot types, and a filter for mini games isn’t available at all. You can use the search bar to search by games, categories, and providers.
BigPirate doesn’t have a downloadable casino app, but you can install the webapp via the address bar. This provides streamlined access to the sweeps casino. BigPirate is also optimized for mobile devices, so you can access the sweeps casino in mobile browser.
Usability rating
89/100 Welcoming design that facilitates navigation
- Mobile friendly
- User intuitive navigation
- No casino app
- Limited game filters
From a usability standpoint, BigPirate is great. It looks appealing, the colors are bright, and the theme is playful and cohesive, while not taking anything away from the functionality of the site. The UX is pretty user-intuitive, with clear labeling and everything is within reach.
There is a lack of game filters, unfortunately, which would have made finding mini games or different slot types, much easier. The search bar is great, but if you don’t know that something’s there, you’re less likely to search for it.
