Expert verdict

BananaBets offers a playful social casino experience, with a decent selection of games and a welcoming set of promos.

Its promos are one of the strongest elements. The progressive daily login bonus stood out to me the most, since you can claim up to 36,000 coins. The Wheel Spin is another good promo, and as it’s available every four hours, there are multiple chances in a day to claim additional free coins.

The game selection is decent. There are over 300 games, which isn’t bad for a social casino, and the selection definitely offers variety. While you’ll find slots and arcade games, there’s also a good choice of RNG table games and a live games section. Unfortunately, the live games section needs to be unlocked, which is an unnecessary requirement.

Throughout the social casino, however, it feels like there’s a lack of information. For starters, BananaBets’ level system isn’t explained, and the RG area completely lacks information. The page is brief, and the self-restriction tool isn’t mentioned.

Another area that could use some tweaking is BananaBets’ overall functionality. The social casino is easy to navigate for the most part, but there could be better game filters and the games load slowly. The most frustrating aspect, though, is being repeatedly logged out while using the casino.

I’d recommend BananaBets for players who aren’t looking for a super polished social casino experience, but who want decent games and good promos. It’s also a good choice for players who are new to the social casino world and want to test the waters.

Where can you play BananaBets?

BananaBets is available in 43 states. It’s restricted in Alabama, Alaska, Missouri, New Mexico, South Carolina, and Washington, as well as the US capital Washington D.C.

How does BananaBets work?

BananaBets is a social casino that allows you to play online casino games without spending real money. The available currency functions like a virtual credit and is referred to as coins. These are claimed through promotions and by winning games, but you can buy more through the shop if you need to.

Coins don’t hold any real-world value and can’t be redeemed or exchanged for prizes.

Bonuses and loyalty at BananaBets

There are three promos you can claim when you first sign up at BananaBets. You’ll get 10,000 coins when you register, and after that, you’ll have the option to claim the first purchase bonus for a 500% deposit match. The third promo is 5,000 free coins for personalizing your account. This involves providing your first and last name, and your full date of birth.

BananaBets has a progressive daily login bonus that you can claim, which can award up to 36,000 coins. It’s broken down as follows:

  • Day 1: 1,000 coins
  • Day 2: 2,000 coins
  • Day 3: 3,000 coins
  • Day 4: 4,000 coins
  • Day 5: 5,000 coins
  • Day 6: 6,000 coins
  • Day 7: 15,000 coins

Aside from the daily login bonus, there’s also the Fortune Wheel promo, which can be spun every four hours. The wheel awards free random coin prizes, from as little as 500 up to a maximum of one million coins. Plus, it also awards a randomized amount of XP, which contributes to your level.

If you refer a friend to BananaBets, you’ll both get 10,000 extra coins. This is done by providing your friend’s email address, and once your friend makes an account, the promo is awarded to you both.

BananaBets also has a promo called Challenges. This involves daily, weekly, and monthly challenges, which are tasks you need to complete to get a reward. You’ll have to complete tasks like spinning 300 times on any game for 7,500 coins, or wagering 100,000 coins on any game for 10,000 free coins.

There are also seasonal promos that run from time to time, such as the Become a Millionaire promo. In this case, you need to make daily purchases of $30 to win 40,000 coins, weekly purchases of $150 to get 100,000 coins, and monthly purchases of $700 to win 2,000,000 coins.

BananaBets has a loyalty level system, which all players are automatically entered into. Every player starts at zero, and through your account activity, you’ll gain XP, which contributes to your level.

You can always see your current level in the top right-hand corner, and it shows how much more XP is needed to reach the next level. It’s not said how XP is gained, or if any additional prizes or promos are awarded with the system, but through using the platform myself, I found I was awarded coins when I hit a new level.

Lastly, BananaBets offers daily freebies when you follow the social media accounts on Facebook and Instagram. This includes giveaways, solving puzzles for coins and free spins, and bonus codes for coin deals.

Bonus rating

84/100 Good promos available but lacking information
  • One wheel spin every four hours
  • Progressive daily login bonus
  • Low sign-up bonus
  • No information given on the level system

All in all, BananaBets has a good thing going when it comes to promos. There are all the usual promos you expect to find, like the sign-up bonus, friend referral, and a daily login bonus.

The sign-up bonus totals 15,000 coins if you personalize your account, which isn’t the highest. Gambino Slots, for example, awards 100,000 coins and 200 free spins when you sign up. However, your BananaBets coin collection will be boosted quickly, because you can immediately claim your first daily login bonus, adding another 1,000 coins, and after that, there’s a wheel spin.

The regular wheel spins are great, and they’re unlocked every four hours, whether you’re logged in or not. On my first spin, I got 2,500 coins and 10 XP added to my level, and on my second spin, I got 800 coins and 80 XP.

The friend referral system is also pretty good, especially since all that’s required of your friends is to sign up. The rules don’t state that there needs to be a purchase made by your friends, so claiming this promo is easy.

The promos are easy to follow for the most part; they’re fairly simple, so while it feels like information is lacking, you’ll manage fine. The one promo that needs more information is the level system. This comes with zero information, not even a question in the FAQs. It’s unclear how the levels work or how many there are; you just know you’re advancing because you’ll be awarded periodically when you’ve got enough XP.

Games available at BananaBets

BananaBets has 300+ games in its library, offering players a choice of slots, table games, live casino games, Video Poker, and arcade games.

Slots take up the majority of the available games, with a variety of themes available. You’ll find vibrant slots with adventure, ancient mythology, vampire, dinosaur, and Mexican themes, to name a few. There aren’t any Megaways or Hold and Win games, but BananaBets has a section of slots called Hybrid Games.

These are slots that combine one or two additional bonus games: the Super Wheel bonus game and the Super Stake side bet. The Super Wheel bonus game is a live game show with a maximum win of 5,000x, played in real time with other players. When it’s available, the Super Stake side bet increases your chances of landing big winning combinations.

There are 18 RNG table games available, which include 10 blackjack games, six roulette games, and two baccarat games. RNG poker games are available, but they’re found under the Video Poker tab. This includes three video poker games and 22 RNG poker games, with different poker varieties like Pai-Gow, Jacks or Better, and Five Aces.

If you prefer live dealer tables, there are eight available when you join BananaBets, and more are unlocked when you reach level 20. The starting selection of live dealer games includes six roulette tables and one blackjack table. There’s also the Super Wheel game show.

Under the Keno tab, you’ll find the Slingo selection. There’s one Keno game, while the rest of the 26 games are Slingo games. BananaBets also has one Lotto game, and there are 18 instant-win games under the Arcade tab.

Games rating

91/100 Good variety in a small package
  • Hybrid games incorporate two bonus games
  • Live games available
  • Live games unlocked at level 20
  • No craps or bingo

300+ games is pretty decent for a social casino, and there aren’t many that have a lot more games. BetRivers.net, for instance, has over 500, which is pretty close.

What’s really going for BananaBets with its game library is the variety that’s been packed into it. Besides the slots, there’s a nice array of table games, with Slingo, Keno, and a lotto game available, too. The Hybrid games are a cool feature, too. They’re a nice way to bring in games that offer something a little different, especially when Megaways and Hold and Win games aren’t included in the selection.

The live games section was good to see, but it’s frustrating to have to unlock further games by reaching level 20. Luckily, that shouldn’t take you too long, as in three days, I jumped to level eight, and I wasn’t doing that much. Still, all the games should be available to players from the start.

Software providers for BananaBets

BananaBets works with a few popular software providers, including NetEnt, Booming Games, KA Gaming, Red Rake Gaming, and StakeLogic. The total number of software providers available isn’t defined by the casino.

Working with key providers like NetEnt means players get access to popular games like Jack Hammer 3 and Starburst. StakeLogic is also one of the software providers for the live games section.

BananaBets doesn’t have any bespoke software, but all the content is readily available without the need to download.

Software rating

86/100 Good providers and quality games
  • Works with key providers like NetEnt
  • Live games provider
  • Total providers unknown
  • No bespoke software

It’s impossible to see the full range of providers that work with BananaBets because you can’t search by provider, nor is there a list of providers. Still, you’ll recognize some of the popular games available, and you can see that you’re in good company.

It was reassuring for me to find well-loved games like Starburst from NetEnt, since there are classic games that players will look out for at social casinos.

Since the remaining live games need to be unlocked by reaching level 20, you won’t see more than the available StakeLogic games to start with. Fortunately, StakeLogic is an experienced software provider, so the live games offered are of decent quality.

Payments rating

87/100 Standard selection of payment options
  • Accepts key payment methods
  • 9 coin bundles available
  • Only one e-wallet
  • No bank transfer

Payments at BananaBets are decent. The social casino accepts four classic credit cards, and there’s PayPal, which covers the e-wallets category. It would always be better to have more options available, especially more e-wallets, such as Skrill or Apple Pay.

These are faster options that players find more comfortable when making transactions at online and social casinos, so not including them is a shame.

The available coin bundles are great, though. I appreciated that there’s a low bundle worth just $4.99, but for high-rollers, the last two bundles worth $499.99 and $999.99 should more than suffice. The bundles are all good value for money, too.

Is BananaBets safe?

BananaBets was launched in 2023 by GAN Social LLC, a company registered in Nevada. The social casino has 256-bit SSL encryption with ECDSA technology. BananaBets works with reputable software providers and its games are tested by independent third parties with RNGs.

When it comes to RG, there is a dedicated page but it’s very brief. The page explains that BananaBets is committed to providing a safe gambling space for players and says that there are resources available. The link provided is the NPR’s page on Gaming Disorders. It’s not clear if the NPR provides any tools or RG services for BananaBets, and there aren’t any tools listed on the RG page.

When I spoke with customer support, I was told that self-restriction is available via your profile and by selecting the RG option. Here you can choose to pause your account for a set amount of time or indefinitely. I couldn’t find this setting in my account, but you can reach out to customer support, and they’ll do it for you.

Safety rating

65/100 Limited RG features available
  • 256-bit SSL encryption
  • Games use RNGs
  • Feature to set up RG tools is missing
  • Lack of information on RG tools

From a security standpoint, things are good with BananaBets. There’s a high level of SSL encryption, and I found out about the RNGs when speaking with the chatbot, where I was linked to another page. Ideally, this information is upfront and not buried in the chatbot, but I was glad to find out about the RNGs all the same.

The RG portion of this section was disappointing. The RG page is very brief, and linking to the NPR doesn’t qualify as offering a resource. There’s no mention of self-exclusion or self-restriction on the RG page, and so if you didn’t speak with customer support, you wouldn’t know about it.

There’s also no way to do this yourself through your account, you have to reach out to support. At the time of writing, customer support is currently checking out why the feature to enable self-restriction isn’t available on the platform.

Since you can make purchases on BananaBets, it would also be ideal to have purchase and wagering limits to avoid overspending.

Reaching out to support at BananaBets

Customer support at BananaBets is available via email or live chat. The live chat service is available 24/7 and can be initiated by clicking the yellow “Contact Us” button on the screen. Initially, you’ll speak with a chatbot that assists by providing links to FAQs. You can speak to a human agent at any time by pressing “Get in touch”.

When I tested the live chat service, I was put through to a human agent instantly. The quality of support was sufficient, and the agent was helpful. The live chat widget tends to disappear if you’re not on the “Contact Us” page.

Email support can be reached at [email protected]. I got a response back in 20 minutes, and again the information provided was clear and direct, though brief.

Phone support isn’t available but there’s a brief FAQs page. This is found via the footer and contains questions and answers covering getting coins, explaining what coins are, the games you can play, and which browsers you can use the casino on.

Support rating

96/100 Responsive customer support system
  • 24/7 live chat
  • Responsive email support
  • FAQS available
  • Live chat button disappears

Customer support is one of the stronger features at BananaBets. For starters, email support got back to me in 20 minutes, which is fast for most email support teams.

Secondly, there’s a 24/7 live chat feature, which is pretty unique for social casinos. It functions well, too. The chatbot you speak to beforehand is fine, though not the most useful, but in all instances where I used the service, I was put through to an agent quickly.

What’s frustrating is that the live chat widget can only be found on the “Contact Us” page. This also means that if you change pages while speaking to an agent, the live chat box disappears. You won’t lose your chat with the agent; you can just go back to the “Contact Us” page. However, it means you can’t really do anything else while you’re waiting for support.

The FAQs page is decent, and I’m glad it’s available, but I would have definitely included more questions, like one to explain the level system and another for RG.

The usability of BananaBet’s platform

BananaBets has a fun and welcoming appearance, with vibrant colors and monkey and banana imagery throughout. Some of the monkey imagery is generated by AI, and there are some AI giveaways, but the overall feeling is friendly and consistent.

Navigation is mostly straightforward thanks to the two navbars at the top of the site. The first row contains the Leaderboards, Promos, Challenges, and Live games. On the right-hand side of this navbar, there’s also the buy coins button, the Wheel Spin, your current level, and your account menu.

BananaBets social casino screenshot

Underneath there’s the game lobby navbar. This has shortcuts for slots, Hybrid games, table games, Video Poker, Arcade games, Keno, and High Roller. Ideally, the live games filter should be listed with the game lobby navbar, not above the rest of the games. While testing out the social casino, I also found that some games are listed under filters that don’t really define them, like Slingo games under the Keno filter.

BananaBet has a simple search bar, which can be used to search for games by name, but you can’t search for providers.

The social casino works well while you’re using it; however, I was repeatedly logged out. Over the course of a few hours, I logged back into my account multiple times. Games run smoothly, too, but take time to load.

Usability rating

88/100 A funky monkey design, with decent navigation
  • Decent navigation
  • App available
  • Kept being logged out
  • Games take time to load

Navigation is fine for the most part at BananaBets, but I do think the games could be better organized within the filters that exist. Some games are under filters that don’t make sense, and the live games button is listed in a different navbar. I’ll admit, I didn’t find it initially, because it wasn’t with the other games, so I thought there weren’t any live games available.

The game categorization system is one you can get used to, though, and I think I had more issue with repeatedly being logged out. It happens without warning, and the page you’re browsing doesn’t change. Suddenly, you’ll look to the top corner and notice your level is gone and the sign-up button has reappeared. The promos page changes a little, since not all the promos are available to guest users.
