If you were a fan of the original Fire Joker slot and its nostalgia, then Fire Joker Freeze should be a welcome sequel. It’s retained the same classic fruit vibes, with a little more jazz and even smoother animations, but it’s got the same symbols with the addition of the Ice Joker.
From a bonus features perspective, there’s more going on this time. Two Wilds form part of the lineup, which can trigger different types of re-spins. There’s also the wheel of fire and ice, which offers a lot more than the wheel of multipliers from the original slot, including a 20x multiplier. All in all, the bonus features have been boosted and occur relatively frequently.
The slot RTP is good, too, sitting at 96.18% with medium volatility, although these aren’t listed in the paytable. Finally, Fire Joker Freeze has a maximum win of 1,000x your bet, which is quite decent.

An RTP of 96.18% is much better than the 94.28% RTP on the original Fire Joker slot. This boosts it to just above the industry average, and I felt the difference in the RTP while testing the slot.
It’s a more balanced game, with a lower house edge, which works well with the medium volatility. From my experience, the wins were more frequent, though with games of chance it’s never guaranteed.
Yet again, I wish Play’n GO would be transparent and list the RTP and volatility in the paytable or the game information. These details need to be listed upfront so that players know what kind of game they’re getting into.

Fire Joker Freeze has two Wilds, the Ice Joker and the Fire Joker. These award their own payout values, but also substitute for all symbols. They also play an important role in the re-spin features.
Re-spins of Ice and Fire
When an Ice Joker lands on a non-winning spin, this will trigger a Re-spin of Ice. The reel becomes an Ice Joker stack and remains in place while the other two reels spin, in hopes of a win.
The Re-spin of Fire is triggered when there are two stacks of the same symbol on a non-winning spin. The stacked reels are stuck in place, and the other reel will re-spin, offering another chance for a win. Landing an Ice Joker during the re-spin triggers the Wheel of Fire and Ice.
Wheel of Fire and Ice
Three stacks holding the same symbol, including the Wilds, trigger the Wheel of Fire and Ice, which can award a multiplier of up to 20x. The Wheel of Fire and Ice contains four wheels within it, each with different multipliers. The innermost wheel is the first to start spinning, unless there’s an Ice Joker stack on the triggering spin. In this case, the second innermost reel spins first.
If the triggering spin has two stacks of Ice Jokers, the wheel starts spinning from the third wheel. When the feature has been triggered by three reels of the same symbol, the fourth wheel spins first.
The wheel will spin and stop on a multiplier value, which multiplies the winnings of the triggering spin. It can also stop on a snowflake symbol. This means the current wheel will be removed and the next wheel will spin, giving you the chance to spin with a new set of multipliers.

The bonuses is where there’s been the most change compared to the original slot. I like the way the features have been improved, and the addition of the Ice Joker is not only playful but it actually serves a stronger purpose than the Fire Joker. Plus, not only are the joker symbols Wilds, they also serve a critical role in triggering other bonus features.
The wheel feature is definitely a highlight, and the chance to win a 20x multiplier is a great addition. As for the re-spins, I’m glad to have them but I think there was room to make one of the jokers trigger a free spins option instead of more re-spins.
The features trigger relatively frequently. I triggered a re-spin of ice within my first five spins. That being said, if you’re in the market for a slot with more innovative bonus features, I always recommend Reactoonz.

I was a little disappointed to see that the payouts are lower than the original Fire Joker slot. While the lowest-paying symbol, the Xs, has the same payouts, the remaining symbols all pay out less. While this slot has a higher RTP and some additional bonus features, meaning there are elements of the slot that work in your favor, I was still hoping the average wins would be on par. The maximum win is higher though, sitting at 1,000x your bet.

For players who enjoy a three-reel slot, Fire Joker Freeze is a great option. It’s a solid combination of classic casino nostalgia with dynamic bonus features. It’s better suited to players with a small budget, though, as high-rollers will feel limited by the winnings and max bet. Those players who have a smaller budget, however, will appreciate the smaller bet increments.
I like the ways the bonus features have been given some extra spice since Fire Joker, and adding the extra Wild makes a difference. Not only from a wins perspective, but because the jokers trigger their own re-spin features and also are connected to the wheel feature. The wheel of fire and ice is a clear winner here, though, especially since it offers the chance to land a 20x multiplier.
