Money Train slot review summary
Money Train hits the spot for players who enjoy a Wild West themed slot. The symbols are cartoonish but detailed, bringing out a rough and tough atmosphere. There are some subtle animations that I liked, too, like the window turning slowly in the background. As for the background track, it couldn’t set the tone better.
The Money Cart bonus feature is where the heart of this slot lies, though. The symbols are all replaced with tumble weeds, whereas any bonus symbols that land introduce additional multipliers. You can choose if you want to play with the Payer or Collector feature, each of which puts its own spin on the multipliers.
As for the slot’s technical features, although this is a high volatility slot, it has 40 paylines and an RTP of 96.20%, which makes it a lot friendlier. The maximum potential win is 20,000x your bet.
Pros

Money Train comprehensive review
In my Money Train slot review, you’ll find the slot’s RTP, its volatility, the bonus features, and the different symbol payouts. I’ll also explain how to play the slot and how it works.
RTP and volatility
The Money Train slot RTP is 96.20% with high volatility.

| Maximum win | 20,000x |
| Number of paylines | 40 |
| Volatility | High |
The game is played on a 5×4 grid with 40 paylines.
This game doesn’t really play out like a high volatility slot. I’d say I landed wins fairly frequently, making the game feel more like a medium volatility slot. Of course, nothing’s guaranteed with games of chance.
As for Money Train’s slot RTP, 96.20% is just above average, making it a very friendly RTP. What also works in this slot’s favor is its 40 paylines. Compare that with 777 Strike, which has just 10 paylines, medium-high volatility, and a below average RTP of 95.80%. That combination results in a slot that doesn’t pay out that frequently.Bonus features
Money Train’s features center around the Money Cart bonus game, which has two variations.

Wild
The Wild symbol is the world Wild with two rifles. This symbol substitutes for all paying symbols to form a winning combination. It can’t substitute for the bonus symbol.
Bonus Symbol and Money Cart bonus game
The bonus symbol is a purple safe with the word bonus on it in yellow. It can land on reels 1, 3, and 5. When three of these land on the reels, the safes crack open, revealing a stack of gold coins inside.
This also triggers the Money Cart Bonus choice. The bonus game is played on a new 5×4 grid. The bonus symbols that triggered the bonus game remain in place, revealing their own multiplier values. These are added together for the starting total multiplier of the game.
All the other symbols are replaced with tumble weeds. Three spins are awarded, in which the tumble weeds spin and when they stop, either another tumble weed falls into the space, or a new bonus symbol.
Each new bonus symbol reveals a multiplier value, which is added to the total multiplier. Every new symbol remains in place for the duration of the game, and the spin count resets to three. The round ends when there are no more spins or free symbol positions left.
At the end, the total multiplier value is multiplied by your current bet, awarding you your total win from the round.
Persistent Payer
The Money Cart bonus game has two modes, one of which is the Persistent Payer. If you choose this option, the Payer symbol can appear on the reels at any point during the bonus game.Â
Whenever it lands on the reels, this symbol adds its own multiplier value to all the other bonus symbols that are already on the reels.
Persistent Collector
Alternatively, you can choose the Persistent Collector mode. When this version of the bonus game is in play, the Collector symbol can land anywhere on the reels at any time. This symbol collects all the values from the other bonus symbols, and adds them to its own.
With both the Payer and Collector symbols, the resulting multiplier values are added to the total multiplier before the next spin starts.
The Widener
In both modes of the Money Cart bonus, you can also get the Widener symbol. This can land anywhere on the reels and by throwing a stick of TNT, can create an additional reel on either side of the grid.
Bonus buy
You can use the bonus buy feature to trigger an instant bonus round. It costs 80x your current bet.
I’ll start by saying that both versions of the Money Cart bonus game have the same payout potential. I tried each version multiple times and averaged similar wins. I liked being able to choose which version I’d rather play with, it just keeps things fresh and gives you the feeling there’s a little more to this slot.
It’s a pretty lucrative bonus game, since the multipliers can get pretty high. In one instance, I had a 91x total multiplier. On my bet of $2, that meant a win of $182. The Widener symbol is also quite cool to have, and adding those extra reels does make a difference to your win potential.
Really, Money Train has got all the big ones ticked off: Wilds, Scatters, Multipliers, and a bonus game. It’s not really free spins, but it takes its place really well. It’s a similar concept to Black Wolf Hold and Win, without the jackpots, which are what’s missing from the Money Train slot.Symbols and paytable
There are eight paying symbols on the Money Train slot. The four low-paying symbols are traditional card symbols: diamond, club, heart, and spade. All four of these symbols award a payout of $0.20 for three symbols when your bet is set to $1.
The diamond is the lowest-paying symbol in the game, where landing five symbols awards a payout of $3. The club pays out a little better, awarding $3.50 for five. The spade is the strongest of these four, paying out $5 for five symbols on a bet of $1.

The high-paying symbols are the woman in blue, the man in green, the man in orange, and the old man. The woman shows there’s quite a step up from the low-paying symbols, awarding $0.50 for three symbols and $8 for five symbols on a bet of $1.
The man in green and the man in orange are another step up, where your payout for five symbols is $9 and $10 respectively. The highest-paying symbol in the game is the old man, which awards $20 for five symbols when your bet is set to $1. On the maximum ber of $1,000, that’s a payout of $20,000.

Money Train has decent average payouts. I appreciated that there are small increases in the lowest-paying symbols, as these give the high-paying symbols a platform for bigger payouts.
However, if we compare the average wins to NetEnt’s TwinSpin, there was the potential for a little more. On a bet of $125, landing five of the old man symbol in Money Train awards $2,500 whereas in TwinSpin, you’ll get $5,000 for five of the highest-paying symbol.
Money Train trumps where the max win is concerned, though, with the potential to win up to 20,000x your bet. Twin Spin can only pay out up to 1,000x your bet.How to play the Money Train slot

Expert verdict
Money Train is one of Relax Gaming’s classic slots, and its bonus game is a clear indication why. The rest of the slot runs like almost every other slot, but the Money Cart bonus and its two variations is a memorable feature. It’s also got the potential to be a lucrative one, too.
From a technical perspective, Money Train is pretty agreeable with its RTP of 96.20% and 40 paylines. The high volatility hits more like medium for me, but I’d recommend going in cautious all the same. Given that this slot has a maximum bet of $1,000, I’d suggest this is one for high-rollers. There are smaller betting options that more budget conscious players can work with, but I think the game sets the stage well for high-rollers.
