Expert verdict
The Clash of Gods slot hasn’t introduced anything new to the market, but it still does quite a few things well. The slot’s biggest selling point is its bonus features, with three progressive jackpots, wilds, sticky wilds, respins, and free spins, there’s a lot to work with. The sticky wilds during the free spins round were definitely a hit for me, as that’s where I accumulated my biggest wins.
The slot really embodies the Ancient Greece theme, with ambient sounds and background music that take you straight to Mount Olympus. Although the graphics are a little dated in style, they work for the slot.
When it comes to payouts, this is where the slot lets itself down. Clash of Gods slot RTP is 92%, with an additional 4.5% being attributed to the jackpots. The low RTP can affect your overall payouts, given the increased house-edge.
The payouts per symbol are also on the low side, with the lowest-paying symbol paying out just $0.05 for three symbols. Landing three of the highest-paying symbol isn’t much better, as that’s just $0.25.
The betting range starts at $0.20, which isn’t too bad, but high-rollers might prefer a betting range that goes higher than $80. There are 243 ways to win, which definitely helps to land bigger wins.
- Three progressive jackpots
- 243 ways to win
- Sticky Wilds in free spins
- Max win of 3,861x
- Average wins are small
- Low bet range

RTP and volatility of Clash of Gods
The Clash of Gods slot RTP sits at 92%, with 4.5% for the jackpots, making it an overall RTP of 96.5%. It’s also a high-volatility slot, meaning on average the slot doesn’t pay out that frequently but could produce bigger payouts over time.
Payout facts
Category | Details |
---|---|
RTP | 92% |
Maximum win | 3,861x |
Highest-paying symbol | Zeus |
Volatility | High |
Clash of Gods has 10 symbols. The lowest-paying symbols are letters from the Greek alphabet: Omega, Psi, Sigma, Theta, and Delta. Omega, Psi, and Sigma are the lowest-paying symbols, paying out just $0.05 when you land three symbols. That’s upped to $0.15 for five symbols.
The highest-paying symbols are recognized gods from Greek mythology like Athena, Hades, and Zeus. Zeus is the highest-paying symbol. Landing three will give you $0.25, but five awards $1 — 6.6x more than the three lowest-paying symbols.
Payouts rating
- Can win across multiple paylines
- Average wins are small
- Only 92% RTP
The base payouts of this game were a little disappointing. Considering there are 10 symbols, three of them having the same low payouts is a missed opportunity. There’s also only a difference of 6.6x between the highest and lowest paying symbols, which is not a satisfying pay out.
With my bet level set to $0.20, the smallest amount, my average wins were $0.05, $0.20, and $0.30. When I increased my bet to $20, those wins became $5, $15, and some as much as $60.
That’s not to say I didn’t have any big wins. On max bet I had wins of $40, $80, $160, $480, and even one as high as $1,920. This is where the slot’s high volatility comes into play: fewer wins on average, but there’s the potential for some big payouts over time.
If you’re looking for a game with bigger payouts that will still transport you to Ancient Greece, then Gates of Olympus might be a better slot for you. For the same bet value of $0.20, Gates of Olympus’s lowest-paying symbol can pay out $0.40, and its highest-paying symbol awards $10. You could even land six of the Scatter symbol for $20, which is 100x your bet.
You do need to take note of the slot’s RTP. Although 4.5% of the RTP is attributed to the jackpots, the game’s RTP is still 92% which is low. There’s a significantly higher house-edge here, which could affect your winnings, and winning a jackpot is not guaranteed.
Clash of Gods slot stakes
In the Clash of Gods slot, bets are placed in cash. The bet value is adjusted by increasing or decreasing how much you want to bet by pressing the plus and minus symbols. The bet range starts at $0.20 and ends at $80. The initial increments are $0.20, so starting at 0.20 and then moving on to 0.40, 0.60, 0.80, 1, 1.20. After that, the bet increases in increments of $2.00, $10.00, and $20.00.

The maximum win in Clash of Gods is 3,861x your stake, which is due to the progressive jackpots. When the bet is set to the maximum of $80, the max payout from the highest-paying symbol is $400.
Stake limits rating
- Good range for low-stakes players
- Small bet range is limiting
- Max win is low
The bet range starting at $0.20 is not uncommon, though I have seen games that start with a much lower bet range of $0.09 like Dead or Alive. Considering the bet range starts at $0.20, the increments are not that small.Â
It first increases in increments of $0.20, which is fairly big, and then jumps into increments of $20 till it reaches $80. This type of bet range will work for low-stakes players, but high-rollers will find a max bet of $80 limiting. The way the bet values increase might not be ideal for newer players who aren’t that confident with their bankroll.
Considering there are three jackpots in this game, the max win of 3,861x is a bit of a letdown. There are slots without jackpots that have much bigger payouts, like Dead or Alive 1 with a max win of 12,000x.
Clash of Gods slot bonus features
Clash of Gods has a Wild which is referred to as a Mystery Symbol in the game. This can appear anywhere on the reels to substitute for any symbol except for the Bonus Scatter. If the Mystery Symbol lands on reels 1, 2, or 3, then it locks in place and awards a respin. If a further Mystery Symbol lands during a respin, an additional respin is given.
It’s also possible for a Mystery Spin to be triggered. This happens in the base game when a Mystery Symbol lands on every single reel, increasing the chances of a respin while maximizing potential wins.
You can trigger a Free Spins bonus round by landing three Bonus Scatter symbols on reels 2, 3, and 4. This awards 10 free spins, but you can get two extra free spins for every full reel covered with Mystery Symbols. During the Free Spins bonus round, Mystery Symbols are also locked in place, like a Sticky Wild, for the duration of the round.

Clash of Gods also has a progressive jackpot. As Clash of Gods is part of Fugaso’s Jackpot Series Games, it features a Mini, Midi, and Maxi Jackpot. Players can see the values of each jackpot just below the grid. The jackpots are only available when playing the slot for real money as a portion of the bet is added to the three jackpots. 2% of the bet goes to the Mini jackpot, 1.5% goes to the Midi, and 1% goes to the Maxi.
These are won randomly, though the game’s instructions say high-bet players have a greater chance of winning than low-bet players. However, with games of chance, nothing is guaranteed. Progressive jackpot wins are subject to verification by the casino operator and Fugaso.
Bonus features rating
- Sticky Wilds maximize wins
- Three progressive jackpots
- No multipliers
- Free spins take long to trigger
Clash of Gods has a couple of bonus features that definitely enhance the game. They’re not unique features, but there are plenty to work with, which is always great to see.
I found the Free Spins bonus game took some time to trigger, but it allowed for some big wins of $240 and $160. There were also a couple of more decent-sized wins of $20 and $40, which were more frequent.
When the Mystery Symbols is a Sticky Wild, it really helps with maximizing wins. At one point during the Free Spins bonus game I had eight Sticky Wilds, which awarded me an extra four free spins and allowed for a big win of $123.50.
During the regular base game, the Mystery Symbol comes up quite a bit, and awards a respin pretty often. The Mystery Spin did come up a few times too, but this didn’t always pay out — in fact, sometimes it didn’t award any wins at all.
The three progressive jackpots add an extra layer to the game, but as a result, they do reduce the slot’s RTP to 92%, which is quite low. There’s no guarantee that you’ll trigger any of the jackpots, but a portion of every bet goes to each one, so the longer you play, the bigger they’ll get.
Audiovisuals of Clash of Gods
The visuals for this slot are on theme. Firstly, its symbols are all images associated with Ancient Greek mythology. The grid is set against a cloudy sky, which is animated with lightning. There are animations throughout, including lightning bolts around the ‘Spin’ button every time you play. Other animations include the Mystery Symbols spinning and a lit-up border around the winning symbols whenever you land a win.

From an audio perspective, there is a background track that plays throughout the game, as well as other casino sounds that have been adapted to fit in with the theme, such as when a Bonus Scatter lands on the grid.
Audiovisuals rating
- Sounds and graphics are on theme
- Background music can be distracting
I liked the way every element in the Clash of Gods slot lent itself to the theme. The lower-paying symbols would typically be card symbols, but here they’re all different letters from the Greek Alphabet, which is a cool feature.
The same can be said for the casino sounds, like the reels spinning and the winning jingle, which have been adjusted to fit right into Ancient Greece.
The background music is pretty dramatic and made me feel like I was caught in the middle of a war between the gods, making it pretty on theme given the slot is called Clash of Gods. It does build hype while playing, but could get a bit distracting. Luckily, you can lower the volume or mute it completely. The lightning bolts that fire out of the ‘Spin’ button each time are also quite a fun element.
The graphics and animations themselves are a bit basic. The symbols are pretty detailed, but that’s about it. For a slot that came out in 2020, the overall look does feel a bit dated.
Compare it to Gates of Olympus, which came out just a year later, and you’ll see the difference. Gates of Olympus has a much more modern and vibrant look, and even its animations are a bit more refined. The overall look and feel work for the slot in an almost charming way, but there are more modern slots out there.
Clash of Gods game layout
The Clash of Gods slot has a classic layout of five reels and three rows. The game has 243 ways to win, which is written on either side of the grid.
It was easy enough to get around the slot and find what I was looking for, though it took some time to understand the buttons. Settings buttons can be found in the top right, with the Bet, Spin, and Autoplay buttons just under the grid. There are also the instructions which provide all other details as well as the paytable. The values in the paytable adjust in real-time according to your current bet.

The slot can be played manually by hitting the Spin button, but you can customize your Autoplay preferences too. You have to input a set loss value for when you want to stop autoplay, but you can choose between five, 10, or 25 spins. You can also choose to stop autoplay on any win if free spins or a jackpot are won. There’s also the option to stop autoplay when a win exceeds a certain value, or if your balance is increased by a set amount.
From the buttons at the top, you can activate Turbo Spin, lower or mute the music, change the language, and access your game history.
Game layout rating
- Turbo spin
- Multi-lingual
- Settings buttons aren’t obvious
- Slot is a bit small on mobile
When it comes to game layout, the Clash of Gods slot does pretty well but there are some areas of improvement. Getting around the slot was pretty easy, and I was able to make sense of it and get what I needed quickly.
The settings buttons on the top right are handy, but it’s not totally clear what they are at first glance. The clock button which represents Turbo Spin was only obvious once I tried it out and realized what it was. The Game History button also isn’t really clear.
Otherwise, everything is easy enough to find: jackpots, bets, and autoplay are at the bottom, along with the instructions. I also thought being able to change the language of the slot was a useful tool, and it’s not something I’ve come across in a slot before.
The adjustable autoplay is great, but the number of spins offered is on the low side. Many slots allow you 500 autospins, and Dead or Alive 1 lets you spin up to 1,000 times.
On mobile it’s a slightly different experience. The graphics are good and the grid is a decent size, but there’s a lot of empty space that could have been used to make the buttons more accessible. Only the Spin and Autoplay buttons have been moved out into the extra space and made bigger. All the other buttons are a bit too small and hard to see and the jackpot values are almost impossible to read.
