The medium-to-high volatility does mean it’s a bit harder to get a win, but considering the max win is 21,175x the stake, it’s easy to see why it’s set that way.
Compared to a slot like Dead or Alive 2 from NetEnt, with a maximum win of 111,111x your stake, Sweet Bonanza’s max doesn’t sound that impressive, but is standard for the genre and mechanics in play.

The bonus features at Sweet Bonanza are kind of limited to Free Spins. On the one hand, we’re missing Wilds and Gamble features, which are always a nice addition. On the other hand, with the Tumble mechanism, I didn’t feel like I was missing too much.
Adding more bonus features would definitely help Sweet Bonanza’s rating. However, I must say that the simplicity sort of works here — there’s a straightforward way of triggering the Free Spins round and it can lead to some big wins.
Even without Wilds, the winning frequency was still quite high in my experience, and I especially enjoyed the rainbow bombs that multiply your win. With multipliers increasing your win by up to 100x, Sweet Bonanza sits well above other popular slots like Gonzo’s Quest with 15x multipliers.

What I like about the visuals of Sweet Bonanza is that they manage to be modern while maintaining that familiar feel of the fruit/candy theme. What’s fun about the visuals is that the fruit has a more candy-like look, setting it apart from other fruit-themed slots.
When it comes to sound, I wasn’t super impressed. You’re greeted with a kind of bland elevator music. But if you get a free spin, the visuals will switch to a winter wonderland look, and the music becomes more upbeat, signifying the importance of this round.
The sound effects that played whenever I got a win really enhance the experience of Sweet Bonanza, as they become more pronounced and higher-pitched with each consecutive win. This really keeps the momentum going and that excitement building throughout the wins.
More complex animations would be a good addition here, as the symbols only bob a little before disappearing when you get a win. I didn’t mind this too much though, as I think the simplicity works in Sweet Bonanza’s case.

I liked the fact that Sweet Bonanza has a 6×5 grid, which is different from the classic 4×5 grid most online slots use. I think this sets the slot apart and it works for various reasons.
