Expert verdict
While there were some big advances from Lobstermania 1, not everything was improved for Lobstermania 2.
The bonuses are this slot’s strongest feature. Multipliers and jackpots are included in the base game. They land pretty often and help with boosting your bankroll. Lobstermania 2 also includes free spins, although only five are awarded. An improved Buoy Bonus is back, adding extra bonus layers to the feature.
The payout potential on this slot is a letdown. The payouts work out lower than in Lobstermania 1 since the win is multiplied by the coin value and not the total bet. There are a lot of ways the slot tries to account for this, like additional bonus features and a more forgiving above-average RTP, but the base game payouts are still less than expected. The bet range is better, however, with a new max bet of $300.
From an audiovisual perspective, the graphics are smoother and clearer. The 3D visuals in the Buoy Bonus are a bit more developed but still have that dated boxy feel from the first Lobstermania slot. That being said, the Buoy Bonus packs a lot into it that helps the slot compete with more modern games.
- Max win potential of 25,000,000
- Buoy Bonus game can maximize wins
- Multipliers, free spins, and jackpots
- Disappointing base game payouts
- Audio is too noisy
- Mobile version is buggy

Lucky Larry’s Lobstermania 2 slot RTP and volatility
Lucky Larry’s sequel slot has an RTP of 96.52% and medium-high volatility. Symbols need to land across at least one of the 40 paylines to be awarded a win. The payout awarded is the line win multiplied by your current coin value.
Payout facts
Category | Details |
---|---|
RTP | 96.52% |
Maximum win | $25,000,000 |
Highest-paying symbol | Orange Wild |
Volatility | Medium-high |
There are 12 paying symbols, two of them doubling as Wilds. The lowest-paying symbols are the 8, 9, 10, J, Q, and K. All of the low-paying symbols pay out 5x when landing just three symbols. The 8, 9, 10, and J have the same payout values, paying out 100x for five symbols. The Q and K pay out 150x for five symbols.
The high-paying symbols consist of four sea-related symbols and two Wilds. The sea-related symbols are the boathouse, the lighthouse, Larry’s fishing boat, and the buoy. The boat and buoy are the stronger symbols, paying out 400x for five symbols.
The two Wilds have Lobstermania 2 written on them, with a friendly lobster in between. Each Wild has a different colored background: one blue and one orange. The orange background Wild is the highest-paying symbol in the game, awarding 8,000x for five symbols.
In terms of max win, the slot has a win cap of $25,000,000.
Payouts rating
- 96.52% RTP
- Max win of 25,000,000
- Payouts lower than Lobstermania 1
- Low variety in minor symbol payouts
A few things have changed from the first Lobstermania slot, such as the RTP. Lobstermania 1 had a below-average RTP of 94.01%, making the house edge 5.9%. In Lobstermania 2, however, there’s an above-average RTP of 96.52% to work with.
The volatility has also been adjusted. Lobstermania 1 combined that low RTP with high volatility, but Lobstermania 2 has a volatility that leans more towards medium-high. From my experience, this did affect how frequently the slot paid out, and while I did land frequent wins on Lobstermania 1, there were definitely more wins in Lobstermania 2.
What I did notice, however, is that while the payouts on Lobstermania 2 are pretty good, they are lower than on the first slot. If we take the lowest paying symbol on both slots, for example, three symbols pay out 5x. With the bet value set to the same amount ($0.60), on Lobstermania 1 I get $3 for three symbols, and on Lobstermania 2 I get $0.50.Â
This is because Lobstermania 1 calculates the win by multiplying the win value by your stake. In Lobstermania 2, the win is calculated by multiplying the win value by the coin value, which leads to a lower payout.
The payouts on Lobstermania 2 are still decent, as you can win up to 8,000x your bet with the highest-paying Wild. But the choice to calculate the win by the coin value is a bummer because it automatically lowers your final total.
Stakes on Lucky Larry’s Lobstermania 2
The bet range on Lobstermania 2 is $0.60–$300. The bet is adjusted by increasing or decreasing the coin value, which adjusts the total bet.

Stake limits rating
- Bet range of $0.60–$300
- High maximum bet
- Fewer betting options
- Bet range starts at $0.60
A max bet of $300 is impressive and blows Lobstermania’s $15 max bet right out of the water. This is a range that high-rollers will feel more comfortable with. It’s even higher than Big Bass Bonanza’s max bet of $250.
That being said, the betting options are far from perfect. For starters, the bet range now starts at $0.60, cutting out the $0.15, $0.30, and $0.45 betting options that were available in Lobstermania 1.
There are also fewer betting options between the minimum and maximum bet. Lobstermania 2 has just 13 betting options, versus Lobstermania 1’s 19. So although the first slot had a much lower max bet, there was more flexibility in the bets you could place.
Lucky Larry’s Lobstermania 2 slot bonus features
Lucky Larry’s Lobstermania 2 is loaded with bonus features. There are two Wilds, the blue and the orange. The blue Wild substitutes for all symbols except the bonus symbol and the orange Wild, while the orange Wild substitutes for all symbols except the bonus symbol.
The slot also has three jackpots: Light Trap, Full Trap, and Motherlode. The values for each jackpot are displayed at the top of the game window. The ‘Jackpot’ label may appear over any symbol except the bonus symbol and can land anywhere on the reels.
For the jackpot to be awarded, three, four, or five Jackpot labels need to land on consecutive reels substitute for the original symbols but don’t need to start from the first reel. The jackpots are adjusted according to your current bet and aren’t available during free spins.

Lobstermania 2 has two multipliers. The 3x multiplier can appear on the buoy, the lighthouse, and the boathouse symbols. The 5x multiplier can appear on all those plus Larry’s boat symbol. If the multipliers appear on reel 3 and form part of a line win, the win is multiplied by the respective multiplier.
Lobstermania’s bonus picker is its biggest bonus feature. This is triggered when three bonus symbols land on the reels. The bonus symbol is the Lobstermania 2 logo. Once the bonus picker has been triggered, players have to choose between the Buoy Bonus or the Free Spins bonus.
On picking your bonus game, you’ll be awarded a multiplier of 40x–95x your coin value on the triggering spin before proceeding to the bonus you’ve selected.
The Free Spins bonus is played with the same base game symbols, but in night mode. Five free spins are awarded on triggering the bonus and landing three bonus symbols during free spins awards an extra five free spins.
Lucky Larry’s Buoy Bonus starts with choosing a location: Brazil, Australia, or Maine. This indicated the number of buoys awarded. In the next stage, Larry’s back on his boat, with buoys in the sea in front of him. Players need to select the number of buoys awarded from those in the sea, and Larry pulls up the lobster trap to pull lobsters out of it. The lobsters can have a value of 10x–575x your current coin value. At the end, your total win is calculated.
Larry can also pull out the golden lobster bonus from the trap. This additional bonus comes with further mini-games, and awards either the Octopus, Kangaroo, or Pelican bonus. Australia’s Kangaroo bonus pays 200x–800x the coin value, Brazil’s Octopus bonus pays 200x–1,000x the coin value, and Maine’s Pelican bonus awards 160x–625x the coin value.
Bonus features rating
- Multipliers, free spins, and jackpots
- Buoy Bonus maximizes wins
- Bonuses are too complicated
- Only five free spins
King Show Games have made up for the lack of bonus features in Lobstermania 1.
It’s great to see free spins included, although only five free spins are awarded, which is low. I would have rather had more free spins and fewer steps in the Buoy Bonus.
The Buoy Bonus from Lobstermania 1 was an innovative bonus game, so it’s cool to see how it’s been developed. The bonus basics are the same. What’s new is being asked to select a country to play the bonus in. It’s another layer of gamification that makes the bonus more engaging. However, choosing a country doesn’t change much besides the potential golden lobster bonus.
There’s a lot of work in the bonus: you start by choosing between free spins and the Buoy Bonus, then select a country, and then select which buoys you want. If you get the golden lobster in the Buoy bonus there are further steps. Players need to pick kangaroos, octopi, and pelicans until finding the golden lobster, or the highest reward. It’s great to see so many innovative bonuses, but I felt it’s gone a little overboard from having so few bonus features in the first slot.
That’s not to say the Buoy Bonus doesn’t deliver on wins. In fact, my biggest wins in the game came from this bonus.
The base game also includes the 3x and 5x multipliers, plus the three jackpots. These two bonus features can boost your winnings in the base game, which helps the slot’s lower payout potential. On one spin, I landed a win over $5,000. My bet was set to the max of $300, but I also landed a 5x multiplier on the boat symbol.
Lucky Larry’s Lobstermania 2 audiovisuals
Lobstermania 2 retains the same look as the first Lobstermania, with 2D and 3D visuals used again. The game window background is a sandy beach, with the lighthouse in the background. The grid’s border is pieces of driftwood, lined with different colored buoys to indicate each payline.
The symbols are quirky and cartoon-like, with lots of color. There are small animations on the Wilds and sea-related symbols when they form part of a winning combination. When a Wild forms part of a win, the symbol changes to an animated lobster on the beach, with a cocktail in hand.
During the free spins round, the background becomes dark, the moon comes out, and the symbols shift to night mode. The two Wilds change their background colors to reflect night mode too. The blue background becomes purple, and the orange background becomes green.

Mobile compatibility | Good |
The 3D graphics are mostly used during Larry’s Buoy Bonus. The bonus looks very similar to the Buoy Bonus in Lobstermania 1, but Larry’s movements are smoother. His voice is the same as in the first slot.
From an audio perspective, the slot uses ‘Rock Lobster’ for background music, like in Lobstermania 1. This can be heard most clearly during the free spins bonus. During the base game, the background music can be heard when the reels are spinning.
The slot also has winning jingles for the higher-paying symbols and several game sounds.
Audiovisuals rating
- Charming visuals
- Cohesive slot design
- Music stops too abruptly
- Winning jingles and game sounds overlap
In all the ways this slot has been updated from its predecessor, the audiovisuals received the least work.
The artwork for the symbols is smoother and more rounded, without the harshness of Lobstermania 1. The colors and animations also blend better.
I was surprised to see the 3D work on Larry during the Buoy Bonus is almost identical to Lobstermania 1. He moves a little more smoothly, has more facial expressions and gestures, but otherwise, the bonus looks pretty much the same, including his voice, which was stiff and robotic in the first slot.
What really didn’t work in this slot, however, was the music and game sounds. The background track, like in the first slot, stops abruptly when the reels stop spinning. It gets a little annoying and breaks the immersion of the slot.
On landing a win with high-paying symbols, however, the winning jingles and game sounds all play at the same time. This aspect of the audiovisuals really didn’t work. It’s noisy, overwhelming, and just sounds terrible.
Lucky Larry’s Lobstermania 2 slot game layout
Lobstermania 2 has a 5×4 grid layout, which allows the grid to hold an additional five symbols compared to the first slot.
Underneath the grid, there’s the number of coins, the coin value, the total bet, the spin button, and the current win. There’s also your balance and the autospin button.
Game-layout facts
Category | Details |
---|---|
Reel layout | 5×4 |
Autoplay | Yes |
Turbo mode | N/A |
Ease of use | Very easy |
Game history | N/A |
For autospins, players can choose between 10, 20, 30, 50, or 100 autospins. There are also two additional settings: setting a loss limit and the optional setting to stop if a single win exceeds a certain value. There is no turbo mode.
The game doesn’t run as smoothly on mobile. On some casinos, the mobile version is only available in portrait mode, which makes the grid a comfortable size. All the buttons are underneath the grid, so they’re easy to reach.
The coins and coin value are hidden under a pop-up menu, which you open to set your bet. When the slot is available in landscape mode, the buttons are moved to the right-hand side of the grid. The grid isn’t as big as in portrait mode, but it’s not a problem for gameplay.
Game layout rating
- Bigger grid
- Additional autospin settings
- Mobile version isn’t smooth
- No turbo spin
From a game layout perspective, there have been some improvements from the first slot, but also some regressions.Â
The autospin now has additional settings, which allows players to exercise greater control. At the same time, there are only up to 100 autospins available, whereas Lobstermania 1 had up to 250.
The turbo spin has also been removed, which was frustrating. This game comes with a lot of long animations, and turbo mode helped to speed things up.
The mobile version was also disappointing. It just doesn’t run as smoothly on mobile. The animations, especially when the reels are spinning, are a bit sticky, and even the symbols aren’t as clear.
