Expert verdict

Siberian Storm is an immersive slot with a few unique features that help it stand out in the world of online slots.

I liked the MultiWay Xtra feature and Free Spins, and I think the winning potential is quite high on this one.

If you’re looking for high-RTP high-volatility slots, this one’s probably not for you. But if you’re looking to try out something new and different, definitely give Siberian Storm a go.

  • Offers 720 ways to win
  • Accessible to all types of players.
  • Medium volatility offers a good balance
  • Animations and effects feel outdated
  • Limited bonus features
  • Audio can become monotonous

RTP and volatility of Siberian Storm

The RTP of the slot can vary depending on the casino that offers it, but the base game has an RTP of around 94.26%.

This puts on the lower end of the average RTP for online slots, which typically ranges from 94–96%. However, it has medium volatility, which balances out the frequency and amount of wins.

Payout facts

CategoryDetails
RTP94.26%
Maximum win1,000x stake
Highest-paying symbolWhite Tiger
VolatilityMedium

The highest-paying symbol in the game is the White Tiger, and landing five of them on an active payline triggers the biggest standard payout in the game. It is followed by the Tiger’s Eye symbol and the Amulet.

The maximum win is 1,000x your stake, which can lead to significant wins when playing with the max bet.

Payouts rating

60/100 Medium volatility, paired with a lower RTP
  • Potential for big wins
  • RTP lower than average

Siberian Storm didn’t manage to impress me and get a high score when it comes to payouts, since the slot doesn’t excel in any particular segment.

The RTP is on the lower end compared to most online slots, the volatility is medium, so it’s not the most exciting slot out there.

With a max win of 1,000x stake, you’ll find that it ranks on the lower end of the scale again, with Dead or Alive 2 leading the pack at 111,111x stake, or even Gates of Olympus at 5,000x stake.

What I will say though, is that you can still get significant wins playing this slot. The MultiWay Xtra feature paired with the unique grid layout makes sure there are many ways to win.

Pair that with the Free Spins feature, and the slot almost makes up for all the cons in my opinion.

Stakes

The Siberian Storm slot has a minimum bet of $0.50 and a maximum bet of $500. While there are 720 paylines, they’re not adjustable. You can only adjust the bet per line, which in turn affects your total bet amount per spin.

The minimum bet per line is typically $0.01. Thanks to the game’s MultiWay Xtra feature which requires at least 50 lines to be active, we get to the total minimum bet per spin — $0.50.

There’s no Buy feature in Siberian Storm, so players must trigger the Free Spins feature by landing five Scatter symbols during regular gameplay.

Stake limits rating

93/100 High maximum bet, but no adjustable paylines
  • High maximum bet
  • No Buy feature

When it comes to stake limits, Siberian Storm ranks quite high thanks to the maximum bet it allows.

You’ll find the betting range fitting regardless of whether you’re a new player or a seasoned veteran.

Granted, the minimum bet can be lower, but $0.01 per line is just what you get with online slots. I didn’t mind, but if you like having control of the paylines though, you won’t like Siberian Storm as they’re not adjustable.

I would’ve liked to see a Buy feature for Free Spins — the only way to get to this round is through regular gameplay, and sometimes I get impatient.

This wasn’t a dealbreaker for me though, as the gameplay was quite engaging on its own.

Bonus features of Siberian Storm

The slot uses a unique MultiWay Xtra mechanic, which is not exactly a bonus, but it works by increasing winning potential.

It allows for 720 ways to win by matching symbols on any position on adjacent reels. Winning combinations can be formed from both left to right and right to left.

The slot’s main bonus feature is the Free Spins feature, triggered by landing five Scatter symbols on consecutive reels. This gives the player eight Free Spins rounds, which can be retriggered up to 240 free spins in total.

Additional Wild symbols can appear on the reels during this round, increasing the chances of winning.

Bonus features rating

53/100 Unique mechanic makes up for the lack of bonus features
  • Very few bonus features
  • Lucrative Free Spins round

Let’s get it out of the way — Siberian Storm has very few bonus features found in modern online slots. It is what it is, so if you like your jackpots, respins, and multipliers, it’s probably best to look for another game.

However, if you can get past the lack of bonus features, there’s still lots to enjoy playing this slot.

The unique MultiWay Xtra feature more than makes up for it in my experience, providing lots of ways to win.

The Free Spins round can be very lucrative as well, with possible retriggers of up to 240 rounds. So with a max bet of 1,000x stake, the theoretical maximum win can be very high.

I think this somewhat makes up for the lack of bonus features, but I’ll let you decide for yourself.

Audiovisuals

Siberian Storm was launched back in 2010, and it features a classic design reflecting that time.

While not the most modern, the game is centered around an immersive Siberian wilderness theme, featuring icy landscapes and symbols like the White Tiger.

There are basic animations that primarily highlight winning combinations and bonus triggers. The audio is clear and complements the theme, and the sound effects conjure up the mysterious nature of the Siberian wilderness.

Audiovisuals rating

77/100 Dated visuals, but smooth gameplay
  • Smooth, glitch-free experience
  • Repetitive music and sound effects

I found the Siberian wilderness theme of the slot engaging, and I liked how smooth the game was. What I didn’t necessarily like is how dated the visuals appear.

I found it to be much simpler than most modern slots, but take this with a grain of salt — the slot was launched back in 2010 after all.

I actually think this gives it a bit of an edge since this is a tried-and-true slot that people keep coming back to.

Yes, the animations are pretty basic and music and sound effects can become repetitive, but the design still exudes that classic slot design a lot of players enjoy.

Even though the slot is a bit dated, I think mobile compatibility was pretty good. The buttons are bigger, all of the features are easily accessible, and the grid itself is adjusted for mobile view as well.

Siberian Storm game layout

Siberian Storm features a unique 3-4-5-4-3 reel layout which contributes to its MultiWay Xtra feature. This configuration allows for a total of 720 ways to win.

The game has a straightforward interface, with buttons to adjust the bet amount and access game settings.

Game layout rating

85/100 A unique layout with an easy-to-use interface
  • Grid layout with 720 ways to win
  • No turbo mode

The first thing I noticed about Siberian Storm is the unique 3-4-5-4-3 reel layout. This is the MultiWay Xtra feature, which allows for 720 ways to win.

It’s my favorite feature of the game, as it’s rare and innovative in the world of online slots.

Apart from the unique layout, I found the interface to be pretty similar to modern online slots. The ‘Spin’ button is on the bottom, with all of the information on both sides of the button.

All the way to the right is the ‘Autoplay’ button, with some advanced options like win/loss limits which I always like to see.

You’ll find the paytable and game rules at the top of the screen, providing all the information you need to start playing.

I would’ve liked to see turbo mode for autoplay, however, since waiting for the spins can sometimes be pretty repetitive.
