Blood Suckers slot review

Checked by Paul P. , Dasha G.

Blood Suckers will transport you to a land of vampires and gore. Launched back in 2009, this slot is still a firm favorite with players. Overall, it does show its age when it comes to both graphics and animations, but just like an old, cult movie, it has a certain charm that transcends time.

In this Blood Suckers slot review you’ll discover all there is to know about the slot – including where to play – and what our experts thought of it. So get your wooden stakes ready and make sure to load up on garlic because there are hordes of vampires ready to suck your blood.

Blood Suckers casino – where to play Blood Suckers

Being a NetEnt slot, you’ll find the Blood Suckers slot machine in most casinos that carry the NetEnt catalog of games, such as Dead or Alive 2. Although some casinos do offer free spins on some NetEnt games, these tend to mostly be on the Starburst slot.

That said, if you’re new to a casino you can take advantage of their online casino bonus, which generally consists of bonus money – Pala online casino for example has a $25 free no-deposit bonus to be used on slots. There might be some restrictions on where you can use and wager this bonus money but generally, you can use it freely on slots. A high RTP makes Blood Suckers great for wagering your bonus money, quite the opposite of games like Queens of Glory slot, with a 91% RTP.

Apart from that, you can always have a go at a Blood Suckers free game by trying out our Blood Suckers demo above or at any of the online gambling sites and sweeps cash casinos that offer freeplay.

For full transparency, the casinos that we promote are all licensed and regulated from regulated states. You can take your pick from NJ online casinos, WV online casinos, PA online casinos and so on.

With NetEnt being one of the hottest slot providers in the US you’ll be able to play the Blood Suckers slot at all the best online casinos. At the time of writing we couldn’t find Blood Suckers free spins bonuses at any casinos. Instead we opted for Blood Suckers slot sites that offer a demo.

Blood Suckers RTP and volatility

Much like the Mega Jackpots Golden Goddess slot, Blood Suckers slot is well known for its low volatility and very high return to player (RTP). Its RTP trashes the like of slots like China Shores or Danger High Voltage slot, in fact. This makes it a low risk slot, which also means there aren’t many high payouts lurking in the bonus or free spins round. In fact, the max win for the Blood Suckers slot machine is set at 1014.6x of your bet. This max win is achievable in the free spins round.

There are a total of 11 symbols in play. Eight of these are the normal symbols, and the other three are the wild, bonus tile and scatter tile.

The wild tile comes with a win of 300x when five-of-a-kind appear on a payline. The scatter symbol comes with a 100x win and 10 Blood Suckers free spins when 5-of-a-kind appear anywhere on the reels.

Payouts rating

90/100 My go-to wagering slot

Its very high RTP of 98% makes it an ideal slot to wager your bonus money and this is an open secret. Even though it’s a low-risk slot it still has a decent max win of 1014x your stake. The bonus round also comes with a potential max win of around 812x. That’s the most you can win on a single spin, meaning it’s a lot higher than another NetEnt favorite. I’m talking about Starburst here with its max win of 500x per spin and an RTP of 96.09%.

Here, I do need to highlight the fact that some casinos might lower the Blood Suckers RTP (I’ve even seen it as low as 95.07%) so always be sure to check it out. If the casino doesn’t offer this information outright you can check this before playing the game. At Golden Nugget Casino, for example, you’ll need to enter the slot, click the ‘?’ on the bottom, left corner and scroll down to Return to Player.

Blood Suckers stakes

You can play the Blood Suckers slot starting at $0.25c per spin and go up to $50 per spin. The lower stake of $0.25c works out at $0.01c per payline, however, the Blood Suckers slot machine doesn’t have adjustable paylines.

Stake limits rating

60/100 Geared mostly towards beginners and casual players

In my opinion the Blood Suckers slot might not suit all types of players as the max stakes only go up to $50. This might seem low for some players but it’s worth keeping in mind this is a low variance, high RTP slot geared towards beginners or casual players.

It also makes sense to cap the max bet to $50 considering that Blood Suckers slot is used for wagering. Higher stakes could lead to either really easy wagering or considerable losses.

Blood Suckers bonus features

The Blood Suckers game comes with two bonus features. One of these is a mini game where you have to slay vampires in their coffin. The other is a free spins bonus round where all winnings are multiplied by three.

In the mini game feature, there are a total of 12 coffins, of which 3 are empty. Every time you manage to slay a vampire you’re awarded a win. The game ends when an empty coffin is chosen. The bonus round carries a max win of over 800x. To enter the bonus round you’ll need to land three or more bonus tiles on a payline from left to right.

To enter the Blood Suckers free spins feature you’ll need to land three or more scatter tiles anywhere on the reels to be awarded 10 free spins. Scatter tiles also come with a payout and five-of-a-kind will pay out 100x. During the free spins round all winnings are multiplied by x3.

Bonus features rating

62/100 I want a little bit more in a free spins round

Having two bonus features definitely increases the excitement. I also found it incredibly easy to enter both bonus features. At one point, within less than a hundred spins I managed to have two rounds on the vampire-slaying mini game and a go at the Blood Suckers free spins feature.

The vampire-slaying game can be a little frustrating, especially if you hit an empty coffin on your second click. Let’s face it, we all want to be Buffy and slay all the vampires. But that doesn’t take away any of the fun. In fact, I ended up enjoying this feature more than the free spins round.

Thing is, having wins automatically multiplied by x 3 doesn’t really do much for me. Especially considering the normal symbols payout so little. It would’ve been way more exciting if maybe there were stacked wilds or sticky ones.

Blood Suckers slot audio and visuals

Being set in the land of vampires the whole slot has a dark, gothic feel, perfectly suiting the theme. High-paying symbols take the form of the vampire protagonists. Low-paying symbols are represented by holy water, the bible, a crossbow, and the famous vampire-deterrent, garlic.

The wild tile is a scene of a vampire biting into a blonde’s neck. The bonus symbol is a stake and hammer and the scatter symbol takes the shape of the vampire bride.

When it comes to the audio, there’s eerie background music which sets the tone well. However, the sound effects themselves are not of note.

Despite its age, the Blood Suckers slot machine looks good on both desktop and mobile. Yes, the design has seen better days but as a whole package, the slot delivers perfectly on the theme.

Audiovisuals rating

68/100 The visuals are dated but in a vintage sort of way

The Blood Suckers game isn’t a great slot to look at. There’s nothing particularly wrong with its visuals other than them being dated. Having said that, this doesn’t pose a hurdle to enjoying the slot.

There’s some good eerie background music but the special effects do jar with the whole theme. Again this comes down to the age of the slot and what was in vogue back then.

The animations — if you can call them that — leave much to be desired. The only animation of note in fact is the one that happens when a win is triggered using the wild symbol. Other than that, the animations only consist of the symbol increasing in shape and going back to its original size.

Still, if you’re into the vintage style stuff, you’ll have a good time. The only issue I can imagine is if you’re playing at something like ultra-modern online casinos accepting PayPal that have a super-high-graphic interface, and everything around the game looks like an utterly incongruous contrast.

Game layout

The Blood Suckers slot has a standard layout of 5 reels and 3 rows. There are also a total of 25 fixed paylines. Autoplay is available, as is turbo spins. You can also choose to spin by pressing the spacebar (if playing on desktop).

In the middle of the slot you’ll find the spin button. To the right of this there’s the max bet button and to left is the autoplay button. To enable autoplay you simply click the button and choose how many spins you want to autoplay. You can choose between 10 and 1,000 spins. There are also some advanced settings just in case you want to include a loss limit or for gameplay to stop if the Blood Suckers free spins round is reached.

Your bet is played in Blood Sucker coins and on the bottom right you’ve the total coins remaining. Each coin is worth $0.01c at level 1. Underneath the spin button you can see the cash available, the bet in dollars and the amount won in dollars.

Game layout rating

85/100 Simple slot with a classic layout

I’m still a sucker for classic 5-reel, 3-row slots and the Blood Suckers slot machine has the classic layout many of us are used to. The game also follows the usual NetEnt design making it easier to use features such as the autoplay or the turbo speed if you’ve played NetEnt slots before. I like this, it makes me feel at home whenever I play a NetEnt slot. It means I can simply have a quick look at the paytable and then get on with actually playing the slot rather than trying to figure out where everything is.

Expert verdict: Would we play this slot again?

65/100 – High RTP and low volatility FTW

Compared to other, newer slots, this game isn’t the hottest thing you’ll set your eyes on. Brutally speaking, it looks old. But, and this is a big but, its mechanics make it one of the best wagering slots out there.

You know whenever you get that 1x wagering requirement before you can withdraw (in Europe the wagering requirements are usually over 30x —hence the popularity of such wagering slots). Well, this is where you would whip out Blood Suckers. Thanks to its 98% RTP and low volatility you can deduce that your bankroll won’t go down as quickly as with other slots.

A couple of points here, however. First up, always make sure to check the RTP of the slot at the casino you’re playing at. NetEnt has variable RTPs, and it’s possible for a casino to lower this. Secondly, always keep in mind this is a game of change. The RTP is a theoretical number over a large number of spins. So always bet what you’re ready to lose. No slot game out there can guarantee returns.

Even though the game does feel old, it can still offer an enjoyable time. It’s also great for new slot players to try their hand at a slot with gentler mechanics, and it’s even good for casual players who just want a slower-paced slot.

  • Great wagering slot
  • Really high RTP
  • Two bonus rounds
  • Looks and feels old
  • Lacks excitement
