RTP and volatility of Fortune Charm
Fortune Charm has an RTP of 96.18%, as stated by Red Tiger. However, while looking into the slot, I did come across some sites where the RTP was 96.24% and others saying it was 95%, so the RTP can vary slightly.
It’s not a big difference, but always check the paytable to confirm what the RTP is at your casino. An RTP of 96.18% is pretty much the industry average. This, paired with the high volatility of the slot, makes for some fairly decent payouts on average.

When it comes to symbols, there are nine that can fall anywhere across the five reels. To land a win, a minimum of three of the same symbol must fall starting from the left-most reel.
The five lowest-paying symbols are all traditional card symbols: 10, Jack, Queen, King, and Ace. The lowest-paying symbol is 10, with a base payout of 0.2x your bet for just three symbols. Landing five of them pays out 1.5x your bet.
The highest-paying symbols are traditional Chinese fortune charms, with the Jade Dragon serving the biggest payout. Landing just three of these pays out 1.5x, but five will payout 10x your bet.

Even if it ranges a little bit, the RTP of the slot is around the industry average, which is always a positive sign. The payouts per symbol are somewhat on the low side, and since the game is pretty volatile, my average payouts were small.
When looking at the payouts for each symbol, each one increases in small increments, which makes the smaller wins easier to manage for new players, but high-rollers might be looking for something more.
When I was playing the slot, I found that I would land a couple of semi-regular wins, thanks to the RTP, but these were often as small as $0.40 or $0.60, with my stake set at $2. Occasionally, I’d land something a bit bigger, like $20 or even $60, and I did manage three big wins of over $100.
The slot has 243 ways to win, so this does help to maximize your chances of landing a win and having multiple wins during a spin. On average though, I found my wins landed across just one payline.

Adjusting your bet is really simple, which is always a positive in my book. Click ‘Stake’ and select your bet from the drop-down menu. This also shows you how far the betting range goes, which on average for Fortune Charm, isn’t very far.
I like that there’s a $0.20 minimum bet, as it’s a good introductory bet amount, especially for newer players.
A smaller betting range also allows you to exercise greater control over your bets, but with smaller payouts on average, this combination doesn’t equal frequent big wins.
Again, if you’re a more casual or inexperienced player, this definitely will benefit you and will be more in your comfort zone.
The maximum win is surprisingly 2000x your stake, which is pretty good. So if your stake is set to $40, that max win is $80,000.
Fortune Charm bonus features
Fortune Charm has a few bonus features that are designed to maximize your chances of a win. The Fortune Charm boxes can appear at any point in the game and often appear more than once.
These boxes spin across the reels until stopping to reveal a mystery symbol, which can be a high-paying symbol, a Wild, or even a Free Spins symbol. Wilds can also appear anywhere on the reels and can substitute for any symbol. They also serve as a multiplier of 2x, 3x, and even 5x.

Free Spins are triggered by landing three of the Free Spins symbol. The lid of the Charm Box will spin, like a wheel of fortune, to determine how many free spins the player gets. The Free spins round is played on fresh reels, but all the symbols carry the same value as in the base game.
If Fortune Charm boxes appear during the Free Spins round, they remain on the reels for the whole round, moving positions between spins and introducing fresh mystery symbols for each spin. When playing for real money, a jackpot is also available, awarded when three of the jackpot symbols land on reels.

Fortune Charm has a few bonus features that add an extra spin on what is otherwise a fairly traditional slot.
The Fortune Charm boxes are definitely the highlight of this game, starting with the light drama they bring by spinning into the reels, and ending with the mystery symbols they add to the reels.
This bonus feature is designed to encourage bigger wins. There’s no way to tell when or where they’ll appear, but I found they appeared quite frequently and often helped me to land a bigger win than I otherwise would have.
The Free Spins, however, aren’t so easy to come by. I only managed to trigger the Free Spins round once and then was only awarded five free spins, though you can be lucky enough to be awarded 100.
I frequently landed two Free Spins symbols, but that necessary third one was tricky. The Fortune Charm boxes during the Free Spins round definitely helped and it was where I had my most consecutive wins.
The Wilds are neither frequent nor infrequent, and often appeared thanks to the Fortune Charm boxes, sometimes even as multipliers.

The graphics and audio of Fortune Charm are definitely on theme for this game. The slot has an Asian theme and comes with beautiful, vibrant graphics that add to the immersive experience.
Red and gold are prominent colors and the symbols are detailed to bring the game to life. There are also some minor animations throughout the game, mostly on the Fortune Charm boxes.

As for music, there is a gentle, traditional Chinese background track throughout the game, along with a few classic casino sounds. During the Free Spins round, the background track is a bit more jazzed up to build hype.

There’s a lot to appreciate in the design of this slot. The colors are rich and the style definitely leans into the Asian theme.
I like the red and gold frame of the grid, which is closed when the game starts and parts down the middle like a curtain to reveal the reels. The slot also switches to a deep green and gold when in Free Spins mode which I found is a nice touch.
The design really complements the music, which has been well-chosen for the slot and adds to the immersive nature of the game. It plays gently in the background during the base game but it did get a bit monotonous for me.
It is possible to mute the entire game if that’s the case for you as well. The music does ramp up and get a bit faster during the Free Spins round, which builds hype and expectation.
The animations are quite traditional but I enjoyed them. They keep the game moving and active, saving it from becoming too samey, which I appreciate. This is especially true of the Fortune Charm boxes that spin in and around the reels.

Fortune Charm does a lot of things well. It isn’t bringing players something they haven’t seen before, but its selling point is definitely the graphics and bonus features.
The Oriental theme has been done before, but the vibrancy of the colors, and the smooth and professional graphics in this video slot are attractive. Paired with its well-chosen music, it makes for a highly engaging slot.
Its betting range is easy to get comfortable with quickly, and its Fortune Charm boxes are a very welcome helping hand to maximize your wins.
