Le Zeus slot review
Smokey the Racoon is taking on Mount Olympus in this installment of Hacksaw Gaming’s famous Le series called Le Zeus. He takes on the identity of Zeus, the king of the Olympian gods, in a game that still follows the famous cartoonish graphics and similar bonus features.
However, this medium-volatility release with an RTP of 96.26% ditches the famous Golden Squares and introduces the Mystery Reveal system. It’s a bit different but still offers the same Coin and Clover symbols. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves, as we’ll cover all of these features and slot mechanics in detail in this comprehensive Le Zeus slot review.

Le Zeus slot review summary
With so many slots in the Le series, it was almost certain that Hacksaw Gaming would take Smokey to Ancient Greece and the realm of myths sooner or later. The theme is indeed overused, but the game still retains most of what’s exciting about the series, including the unique and colorful graphics and animations, as well as cheerful music and sound effects.
However, it replaces the ubiquitous Golden Squares with the unique Mystery Reveal system, where you get only high-paying symbols, wilds, or the standard set of special symbols you see in most Le slots, like Coins, Clovers, and Pots of Gold.
Volatility remains medium, and the 96.26% RTP is slightly above average for the slot industry but still within the average range for the Le series, which features base-game RTPs from 96.15% (Le Santa) to 96.41% (Le Football Fan).
You also still get 2 bonus rounds and 1 hidden bonus feature, which arguably has the best reward potential in the whole series.
Pros
Mystery Reveal can land wilds
20,000x max win on medium volatility
Incredibly rewarding hidden bonus round
Cons
Only 19 paylines on a 6×5 grid
No cascades like in other Le slots
Almost all Bonus Buys are highly volatile
Le Zeus comprehensive review
After spending a few hours in the game and spinning the reels more than 200 times, I’ve jotted down everything I’ve learned and eventually compiled it into this detailed Le Zeus slot review. So, keep reading to learn more about the game’s RTP, volatility, bonus features, symbols, and paytable, as well as how Le Zeus fares against other Le releases and popular slots in general.
RTP and volatility
The Le Zeus slot RTP is set at 96.26%, slightly above the industry average of 96%. It effectively means that, theoretically, you’re set to win $96.26 back for every $100 you wager in the long run.
| Category | Details |
|---|---|
| RTP | 96.26% |
| Maximum win | 20,000x |
| Number of paylines | 19 |
| Volatility | Medium |
The volatility is medium, meaning the game generally balances frequent, small wins with infrequent, big payouts. The slot is played on a 6×5 grid, and it features 19 fixed paylines.
I’ve played every Le slot, from the initial Le Bandit to Le Football Fan, which brought the RTP to its max, and I can safely say that Le Zeus definitely doesn’t break new ground regarding RTP and volatility.
On the upside, this isn’t bad, not by a long shot. Medium volatility makes the game ideal for the average player who doesn’t dare to risk much but also doesn’t want to get bored by constant tiny wins. And the RTP is still slightly above the industry average for slots, which is 96%.
Bonus features
Le Zeus’ main features are the Mystery Reveal in the base game and a total of three bonus rounds. Let’s explain and evaluate them all.

Mystery Reveal
The cornerstone of the Mystery Reveal system is the Mystery symbols, which are shaped like clouds with a golden lightning bolt at the front. They land randomly, like all others, but only on reels 2, 3, 4, and 5 in the base game. They generally reveal high-paying icons, wilds, and the special symbols I’ll explain later:
- If they reveal high-paying symbols or wilds that form no win, nothing happens. If they become part of a winning combo, the rest of the grid respins, and the clouds reveal new symbols. The respins continue for as long as you keep forming wins with the newly revealed symbols.
- If one or more Mystery symbols land on the same reel, they can form a Mystery Reel. This leads the clouds to reveal some or all of these special symbols:
- Coins and Diamonds with multipliers, which are effectively cash prizes (the reward you receive equals the multiplier x your stake):
- Bronze Coins come with multipliers of 0.2x, 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 3x, and 4x.
- Silver Coins come with multipliers of 5x, 10x, 15x, and 20x.
- Gold Coins come with multipliers of 25x, 50x, and 100x.
- Diamonds come with multipliers of 150x, 250x, and 500x.
- Clover symbols multiply the values of Coins and Diamonds, and they activate after the Coins and Diamonds have awarded their wins:
- Green Clovers multiply all Diamonds and Coins adjacent to them with multipliers of 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 10x, and 20x.
- Gold Clovers multiply all Diamonds and Coins on the grid with the same multipliers as Green Clovers.
- Pots of Gold symbols collect all the wins from Coins and Diamonds once they and the Clovers have completed their effects. They also lead all of these special symbols to respin, after which they collect all the wins accumulated from the new set.
- Coins and Diamonds with multipliers, which are effectively cash prizes (the reward you receive equals the multiplier x your stake):
Bonus game 1: Bolt & Run
Whenever you land 3 FS scatters, you’ll trigger this bonus round with 8 free spins. It is the same as the base game, with the major difference being that all Mystery symbols are sticky, meaning they remain on the grid for the entirety of the round.
Also, whenever you land Coin symbols from the Mystery Reveal feature, their multiplier value cannot be lower than 1x.
Bonus game 2: Myth-Taken Identity
A different bonus round is triggered whenever you land 4 FS scatters in the base game. You get 8 free spins, and the mechanics stay the same.
The difference here is that you get a Mystery Meter outside the grid. Whenever you land a Mystery symbol, the meter fills by 1. Once you reach 25 on the Meter, it’s filled, and a reward spin is triggered once the current free spin ends. The whole grid fills with Mystery symbols, which reveal only Coins, Diamonds, Clovers, and Pots of Gold.
This happens the first time you trigger the Meter during that round. With each subsequent instance of the Meter being filled, the lowest symbol you can get will change to a higher one. It moves from Bronze Coin to Silver Coin, then to Gold Coin, and finally to the Diamond.
Hidden bonus game: Gods Just Wanna Have Fun
The hidden bonus round also comes with 8 free spins, but it’s activated when you land 5 scatters in the base game.
The mechanics are the same as in Bolt & Run, but with a few important additions:
- Reels 2, 3, 4, and 5 are filled with Mystery symbols from the start.
- You can land only higher-paying symbols.
- The minimum Coin multiplier value is 5x.
Bonus Buy options
Le Zeus, like all other Le slots, has the Bonus Buy option. You can purchase every feature except the hidden bonus. Here is what you can pick from:
- BonusHunt FeatureSpins: This option costs 3x the stake per spin and gives you 5x the chances of triggering a bonus game. It increases volatility from medium to high and lowers the RTP from 96.26% to 96.01%.
- Le God Mode FeatureSpins: Here, you pay 50x the stake per spin and receive at least 6 guaranteed Mystery symbols. This pick raises volatility to high and sticks with the same RTP.
- Bolt & Run: This feature costs 80x the stake and immediately lands 3 FS symbols and activates the corresponding bonus game. It raises volatility to high and the RTP to 96.33%.
- Myth-Taken Identity: By paying 300x the stake, you immediately lands 4 scatters and activate the bonus game of the same name. Volatility stays at medium, and the RTP only slightly lowers to 96.25%.
Le Zeus gives you a decent mixture of engaging and rewarding bonus rounds. The only downside is that you get only 8 free spins in each, which is noticeably lower than the 10 you receive in most other Le slots, or the 12 you get in Le Bandit.
However, the hidden bonus round is definitely one of, if not the best, features in Le slots. It keeps the mechanics of the other free spin games but doesn’t deal with low-paying symbols, and the middle reels are filled with Mystery symbols from the get-go. If that weren’t enough, the minimum multiplier value of Coin symbols is 5x. All in all, you’re really set up for success.
Still, since the most rewarding bonus round is incredibly difficult to trigger, and you can’t buy your way in, the Mystery Reveal remains the highlight in my opinion. It’s unique as far as Le slots go, since the Mystery symbols can reveal high-paying symbols and wilds to form wins and then trigger respins. At the same time, you can still land the special symbols you get in all Le slots whenever you form a Mystery Reel.
Symbols and paytable
Le Zeus’ main symbol lineup consists of 4 low-paying and 6 high-paying symbols.
| Symbols | 3-of-a-kind | 4-of-a-kind | 5-of-a-kind | 6-of-a-kind |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| α, δ, π, and φ | 0.1x | 0.3x | 1x | 3x |
| Horn and Pillar | 0.5x | 1x | 2x | 5x |
| Swords and Masks | 1x | 2x | 4x | 10x |
| Wings | 2x | 5x | 10x | 50x |
| Helmet | 3x | 10x | 20x | 100x |
| Wild | N/A | N/A | N/A | 200x |

In addition to them, you have the wild, which is the highest-paying symbol in the game, but it only grants returns when you connect 6 of them on a payline. The rest of the time, it replaces other symbols in winning combinations.

Le Zeus has pretty much the standard symbol setup, like many other slots with a similar number of paylines. With 12 symbols in the mix (10 paying ones plus the wilds and scatters), you have a decent shot at forming wins and activating features.
However, it’s not the best setup once you consider that this grid size is usually reserved for cluster-pays or pays-anywhere slots. It’s simply too big for only 19 paylines. For example, Pragmatic Play’s most famous game, Gates of Olympus, also has a 6×5 setup and yet uses the pays-anywhere mechanic.
However, the decent RTP and medium volatility serve as corrective factors. From my analysis of the game, you tend to get a decent number of wins, well in line with what the volatility and RTP suggest.
How to play Le Zeus
Playing Le Zeus is fairly simple. You start the game and select the bet size you want to use. Then you can spin the reels manually or automatically using the Autoplay option.

| Min bet | $0.1 |
| Max bet | $50 |
| Autoplay | Available |

The game also has Turbo and Super Turbo modes that speed up gameplay, as do all other Le slots. You can even select which part of the game is sped up: the base game, the bonus games, or both.
Expert verdict
Le Zeus is one of the more original releases in the Le series, despite having one of the most overused themes. The change is in the choice of the main feature, the Mystery Reveal, and it works more than well and manages to counteract the low number of paylines for a sizable gridline.
The medium volatility and the 96.26% RTP lead to even gameplay and a decent number of rewards, with a maximum win of 20,000x. The bonus rounds are exciting, but the best one is, unfortunately, the one that’s hardest to trigger: the hidden bonus.
Overall, Le Zeus is great for fans of the Le series and Hacksaw Gaming aesthetics and gameplay. It’s primarily made for casual players who want balanced slot sessions that don’t drain the balance.
