Expert verdict

Players who love a retro vibe might be pleased to see Red Tiger’s sequel slot, 777 Super Strike. While it’s an update from 777 Strike and looks fantastic, the slot falls short in some areas.

For starters, 777 Super Strike has a slightly lower RTP of 95.72%, which is still below average. The game also has high volatility, although the game paid out more frequently than 777 Strike, thanks to the 243 ways to win.

The payouts are a letdown, though, as while they’re decent, they’re much lower than the previous game. A slot with a higher hit rate but small average payouts doesn’t pay off and I drained my bank account a few times because I wasn’t winning enough to maintain it. To compare, the highest payout on 777 Strike is a lucrative 77x. On 777 Super Strike, that’s been reduced to 25x.

From a bonus features perspective, not much has changed except for the addition of the feature buy and the expanding Wilds. The expanding Wilds are great, and it’s also a nice change that the Wilds appear during the base game as well as free spins.

Since the three free spins rounds were already done in 777 Strike, the feature’s not really that innovative anymore and there was room for more. It can still be quite a lucrative feature though.

The visuals have been refined, giving the slot a much cooler appeal. The symbols, in particular, really pop now. The music and game sounds haven’t been changed much, and I appreciated the consistency. It’s a more classic slot, but if you like that look, then this could be for you.

  • Expanding and Sticky Wilds
  • Max win potential of over 2,649.50x
  • Lucrative free spins rounds
  • Below average RTP of 95.72%
  • Bet range of $0.20-$20
  • Low average payouts

777 Super Strike RTP and volatility

Red Tiger’s 777 Super Strike slot has an RTP of 95.72% and high volatility. It has 243 ways to win and a max win of over 2,649.50x your stake.

The slot has 10 paying symbols, which are a combination of card symbols, fruit, and lucky 7s. The lowest-paying symbols in ascending order are: 10, J, Q, K, and A. The 10, J, and Q are the lowest-paying symbols, each paying 0.5x for three symbols and 1.5x for five.

The cherries and lemon are the middle-of-the-road symbols. The cherries pay out 3x for five symbols. The highest-paying symbols are the blue 7, the green double 7, and the red triple 7s. The red triple 7s pay out 25x for five symbols.

The Wild symbols don’t pay out, like in the original 777 Strike slot.

Payouts rating

70/100 243 ways to win with lower payout potential
  • Decent payout potential
  • 243 ways to win
  • Below average 95.72% RTP
  • Lower payouts than first slot

In terms of payouts, everything is a little bit worse than in the original 777 Strike slot, except for the hit rate. This sequel slot pays out more frequently than 777 Strike, which surprised me as it has a slightly lower RTP and high volatility. The original slot had an RTP of 95.8%, which is not much higher, but nevertheless is still a better RTP than 95.72%.

Despite that and the high volatility, 777 Super Strike has a high hit rate thanks to the 243 ways to win so I landed wins fairly often. Compared to 777 Strike’s 10 paylines, that’s a pretty big difference.

What’s disappointing is that the payouts, although decent, are a lot less than the previous slot. The highest-paying symbol on 777 Strike paid out 77x for five symbols. That same symbol only pays out 25x in comparison. The lowest-paying symbol pays out just x1.5 for five symbols, compared to 777 Strike’s 2.4x.

The three lowest-paying symbols on 777 Super Strike all have the same payout values too, and the same for the K and A, which means there’s a much slower increase in payouts between slots. In the original slot, all the symbols had their own payout values, which allowed for different-sized wins.

The free spins rounds are where you could make some bigger wins. During Wild Spins, I had a total of six Sticky Wilds on the grid, which allowed for a win of $32.50, when my bet was set to $0.20. This was one of my biggest wins in the whole game.

Although the payments are much smaller on average, the 243 ways to win do make up for it, as you can land wins a lot more frequently.

777 Super Strike stakes

777 Super Strike has a bet range of $0.20–$20. To adjust the bet, press the plus and minus buttons on either side of the bet value. The betting options increase in multiples of two, starting small before jumping to the higher end of the scale: 0.20, 0.40, 0.60, 0.80, 1.00, 2.00, 4.00, 6.00, 8.00, 10.00, 20.00.

Stake limits rating

73/100 Limited bet range
  • Decent starting bet of $0.20
  • Max win potential of 2,649.50x
  • Bet range of $0.20–$20
  • Limited betting options

Unfortunately, nothing has changed in this section from the original slot. The bet range is identical, starting at $0.20 and ending at a max of $20.

$0.20 is a decent starting point, but some slots start lower. The maximum bet is the most limiting part, however. Slots like Mammoth Peak and Clash of Gods have the same starting bet, but both slots have a higher max bet. Mammoth Peak has a max bet of $50 and Clash of Gods goes up to $80.

The downside of such a short bet range is also how limiting the betting options are. 777 Super Strike has just 11 betting options, which jump quite a bit in size, making it harder to control how much you’re willing to spend.

The combination of lower payouts with the same bet range limits the slot’s overall win potential, which is higher than in 777 Strike. 777 Super Strike has a max win potential of over 2,649.50x, rather than 2,500x thanks to its higher hit rate, since all the other factors would bring that max win down.

Bonus features on 777 Super Strike

Like in 777 Strike, the bonus features of 777 Super Strike are all connected to Wilds and free spins. This slot has two Wild symbols: the regular Wild and the expanding Wild. The regular Wild has the word Wild in silver text on a green background, whereas the expanding Wild has gold text and a purple background, with a crown on top.

The regular Wild substitutes for all paying symbols and appears only on reels 2, 3, and 4. The expanding Wild behaves the same way and covers all the reel it lands on, creating opportunities for multiple wins. Both Wilds can appear in the base game and the free spins rounds.

The free spins round is triggered when three of the Free Spins scatter symbol land on the reels. This symbol can only land on reels 1, 3, and 5. This symbol is a gold number 7 on a blue background with the word free spins in white. Like in the original slot, landing three scatters awards seven free spins.

On the seventh and final spin, there’s the chance to re-trigger the free spins if three free spins symbols land on the reels again. This will award another seven free spins called Win Spins. During Win Spins there are increased Wilds and a guaranteed win on every spin. The slot will return to the base game if the free spins aren’t re-triggered.

At the end of the Win Spins, there’s the chance to re-trigger free spins again on the last spin if three scatters land on the reels. This awards a third set of free spins for a maximum of 21 free spins. This third round is called Wild Spins and features locking Wilds that remain in place until all the spins have finished. There are also guaranteed wins with every spin.

Bonus features rating

63/100 Good bonus features, but nothing to write home about
  • Lucrative free spins
  • Sticky and expanding Wilds
  • No other bonus features
  • Only seven free spins per round

Like in the original slot, 777 Super Strike does a lot with just free spins and Wilds. Admittedly, however, it’s disappointing to see only two new bonus features have been introduced. And, one of those is a feature buy that triggers the other bonus features.

I had more luck with the free spins in 777 Super Strike due to the higher hit rate. I hit wins more often during the first seven free spins and twice managed to trigger the Win Spins, and once even triggered the Wild Spins. If these two extra free spins rounds are triggered, it can be a very lucrative moment in the game.

A win guaranteed on every spin is definitely a nice feature, especially with increased Wilds which do help maximize your win potential.

The expanding Wilds are a great addition to this slot format as they can create wins on multiple paylines. I was also pleased to see that the Wilds are available in both the base game and frees pins, compared to 777 Strike which only uses them in the free spins games.

However, not much else has been done in 777 Super Strike when it comes to bonus features. The rules of the three free spins rounds are identical to 777 Strike, when there was room to add more than seven free spins at a time or introduce another feature.

Lucky Larry’s Lobstermania is a good example here. The first game in the series had very limited bonus features and really lost points there when I reviewed it. In Lucky Larry’s Lobstermania 2, the game had introduced many more bonus features on top of what was already available, making the game more engaging and enjoyable.

777 Super Strike audiovisuals

777 Super Strike has the same classic casino theme as 777 Strike and has kept almost all of the same visuals with a few modifications.

The background is still dark green but has a chevron pattern, instead of crowns. Like in the first slot, the background changes to blue during free spins. During Win Spins the background turns red. For Wild Spins, the background is black and the chevron pattern is gold.

The symbols are brightly colored with a lot of definition. They’re all the same as in the previous slot, except the highest-paying symbols don’t have a crown.

The music has been kept the same from 777 Strike, and even the animations are the same style. The ambient music is a classic casino-style tune, and a peppy beat plays when the reels are spinning. The winning soft jingle is new though.

Small animations are used in the Wild and free spins symbol, which bounce up and down gently. A similar animation style is used when symbols form part of a winning combination. The animation of coins and banknotes falling from the top of the game window is also still used, but they don’t fall onto the reels like in the previous slot.

Audiovisuals rating

82/100 Updated, modern visuals, classic design
  • Engaging, sleek visuals
  • Modern animations
  • Good ambient sound
  • Lacks fine details

The slot looks great, the visuals are very sleek and smooth, and there’s a clear improvement on 777 Strike’s visuals. I really appreciated this part. Red Tiger took what was already pretty good and tweaked it to make it look even better, while keeping it consistent.

777 Strike’s symbols had a strong black border around the edge which made the colors really pop, but in 777 Super Strike, that black border has been reduced and the symbols have more texturing. This creates a cooler, more refined feeling and makes the symbols more realistically 3D, compared to the original slot. It looks a lot better, and 777 Strike already looked pretty good.

The animations are also a bit more refined, creating a nice cohesive slot overall. It’s those small glimmers and sparkles that add something extra to what’s otherwise a very basic game from a visual perspective.

What’s lacking, however, is fine details. Like with 777 Strike, this slot works with a much simpler theme and so there isn’t the need for those smaller details that make the game more immersive. If you’re a player who prefers a slot that’s not very busy and more stripped-back, then 777 Super Strike is for you.

777 Super Strike game layout

777 Super Strike has a 5×3 grid, with 243 ways to win. The small paytable is on top of the grid, like in the original slot, displaying the payout values for different wins. When there’s a win on the reels, the relevant symbols and payout values light up in the paytable.

The rest of the game layout is the same as in 777 Strike. Press the spin button to get the reels going and hit the turbo spin button next to it if you want the game to move faster.

The autoplay feature is also the same, giving players up to 100 autospins and requiring them to set a loss limit. The option to set a win limit is also included.

To find more specific details about the slot, the menu button is on the top right and it’s where you’ll find the Pays and Help sections.

When it comes to mobile, the slot works perfectly in portrait mode. The grid is front and center in the middle, with all the important buttons at the bottom. Landscape mode works well, but the grid is still quite small.

Game layout rating

94/100 Clean and standard game layout
  • Clean game layout
  • Autoplay and Trubo Spin
  • No game history
  • Limited autospins

Nothing’s changed from 777 Strike, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. The slot has a solid game layout that includes autoplay, turbo spins, and it’s easy to navigate around the slot. Even when switching from desktop to mobile, the slot is very cleanly laid out and gameplay is comfortable.

Except for when playing in landscape mode, which makes the grid too small and the buttons too spaced out. This is quite common when slots are adjusted to landscape mode in general, but that doesn’t make it less frustrating.

The most significant downside in the game layout, though, is the limited free spins. The game has several autoplay settings so that you can customize your autoplay session as you need, however there’s still only a maximum of 100 autospins. 100 is good, but there are slots out there, such as Dead or Alive that allows up to 1,000.
