Expert verdict

Immortal Romance 2 is an excellent slot, that mostly succeeds in elevating itself from its prequel. Sine aspects however have unfortunately not been improved.

The payouts and slot stakes are the weakest area of this slot when comparing it to Immortal Romance 1. The payouts are a lot lower. A Wild in the first slot paid out $15 for five symbols, whereas on Immortal Romance 2 it’s just $1.50.

Immortal Romance 2 also has high volatility and an RTP of 96.30%, whereas the original slot had medium volatility with an RTP of 96.86%. The difference in the RTPs is minor, but the overall effect is that Immortal Romance 2 pays out less frequently.

Bonus features show a significant improvement, with features returning and refined. The Wild Desire feature has more going on, although it takes longer to trigger. There are also still four kinds of free spins rounds, but this time you have instant access to all four rounds when you first trigger free spins. Immortal Romance 2 even has four different jackpots.

From an audiovisual perspective, there’s no doubt Immortal Romance 2 is stronger. It looks incredible, and so much attention has been given to the storytelling. The graphics and animations are cleaner, more refined, and smoother.

  • 15,000x max win
  • 243 ways to win
  • Four jackpots and free spins rounds
  • Payouts lower than first slot
  • High volatility
  • Bet range of $0.10–$20

Immortal Romance 2 slot RTP and volatility

The Immortal Romance 2 slot has an RTP of 96.30% with high volatility. To be awarded a win, symbols must land on consecutive reels, starting from the leftmost reel unless otherwise defined.

The slot has 12 paying symbols which are a mixture of card symbols, location symbols, and the four characters from the game. The card symbols, 10, J, Q, K, and A, are the lowest-paying symbols. The 10 and the J pay out the lowest, awarding $0.01 for three symbols and $0.10 for five.

The highest-paying symbols are the characters, Amber, Troy, Michael, and Sarah. Sarah is the highest-paying symbol of these four, paying out $0.45 for five symbols. The scatter symbol, which is a golden door knocker with a lion’s head, can pay in any position. It’s the highest-paying symbol of the game, awarding $2.50 for five symbols.

The Wild also carries its own payout values, paying out $0.12 for three Wilds and $0.50 for five. The Wild has the Immortal Romance 2 logo on it. The Wild Desire Blood Drop symbol, which triggers the Wild Desire feature, pays out $0.10 for two.

Payouts rating

80/100 Good payouts but not as good as prequel
  • Can win across 243 paylines
  • 96.30% RTP
  • High volatility
  • Payouts are less than Immortal Romance 1

I was surprised to find that the Immortal Romance 2 payouts are not better than the original slot, but a little bit worse.

Immortal Romance 2 has an RTP of 96.30%. This is still a great RTP, it’s above-average and theoretically suggests a decent level of return. However, Immortal Romance 1 had an RTP of 96.86%. Although it’s a small percentage difference, it does affect the house edge and your return.

This slightly lower RTP has been paired with high volatility. The original slot had medium volatility, which when paired with an RTP of close to 97%, produced a slot that paid out often. Immortal Romance 2, in comparison, doesn’t pay out that frequently. I did land plenty of wins, and with tumbling reels you can get stacked wins, but it was a noticeably lower hit rate than the first Immortal Romance slot.

The biggest difference is in the payout values of the Wild and the Scatter. Five Scatters awards $60 on Immortal Romance 1. In this sequel slot, it’s $7.50. The Wild has a difference of $15 versus $1.50.

Immortal Romance 2 slot stakes

Immortal Romance 2 has a bet range of $0.10–$20. The bet can be adjusted with the quick bet options, where you can select 0.10, 0.30, 0.50, 2.00, or max bet. Alternatively, you can adjust the total bet by pressing the plus and minus buttons to go through all the bet options.

The bet values start off in increments of 0.10, before jumping to increments of 0.50 and 1.00. The increments then get a bit bigger, with the bet values jumping from 6.00 to 7.50, 10.00, 15.00, until the max bet of 20.00.

Stake limits rating

65/100  Bet range is a letdown
  • Potential for 15,000x wins
  • Bets start at %0.10
  • Bet range of $0.10-$20
  • Fewer betting options

Unfortunately, the bet range on Immortal Romance 2 is worse than in the original. Immortal Romance 1 had a bet range of $0.30–$30, which was already not ideal.

In Immortal Romance 2, the starting bet has been lowered to $0.10, which is a more accessible starting point. However, the maximum bet is $20. That’s $10 less than in Immortal Romance 1, making the range much smaller.

This is reflected in the betting options available too. Immortal Romance 2 has just 18 betting options, compared to Immortal Romance 1’s 27. This means not only is the bet range smaller but there’s less control as there are fewer betting options with bigger increments.

For a slot with a win potential of 15,000x, this limited bet range is disappointing. The slot also retained the same number of ways to win as in Immortal Romance 1, which is 243 ways. This is a decent number, which at least maximizes your chances of landing multiple wins.

Immortal Romance 2 slot bonus features

Wilds are a key feature in the Immortal Romance series. The Wild can appear on all reels in the base game, and all of the free spins rounds except for Troy’s Free Spins where they appear on reels 2, 3, and 4. The Wild can substitute for any symbol except the scatters and Blood Drop symbol.

When a Wild contributes to a win in the base game and Amber’s Free Spins round, that Wild can apply a multiplier. In the base game, that multiplier can grow up to a maximum of 6x.

The slot also has the new addition of Locking Wild symbols, with a unique red background. In the base game and Amber’s Free Spins these appear on reels 2, 3, and 4. In Troy’s Free Spins the Locking Wild appears only on reel 3. The Locking Wild remains on the reels for the duration of the roll and is only removed at the beginning of each new spin.

The Wild Desire feature returns in Immortal Romance 2, with some new twists. This feature can turn up to all five reels into Wilds. It plays at 1024 paylines and is a five-reel four-row feature. The Wild Desire multiplier sits on the left side of the grid and collects during the base game. Landing one Blood Drop symbol can increase the multiplier by 0.5x. This multiplier applies to all wins during this feature.

What’s new in Immortal Romance 2 is the four jackpots, one for each character. These are progressive jackpots that grow every time a gem lands on the respective character.

The Sarah jackpot can award prizes from 20x–1,500x the total bet, the Michael jackpot award from 10x–200x, the Troy jackpot awards from 5x–75x, and the Amber jackpot from 5x–50x. The jackpot wheel is triggered randomly to award any one of the jackpots and it can even trigger the Wild Desire feature.

Like in the first slot, there’s one free spins game for each character. The free spins are triggered when three or more scatters land anywhere on the reels, but they can also be triggered through the Buy Feature.

In Immortal Romance 2, the player can choose which of the four free spins games they want to play out, and can choose a different one each time. In Amber’s free spins game, the Wild multiplier increases by 3x per roll up to a maximum of 18x. Landing three or more scatters will award an extra 12 free spins.

In Troy’s free spins game, Wilds that land on reel three will remain there for the duration of rolls and are removed on each new spin. Locking Wilds will spawn two new Wilds onto the same reel. These additional Wilds will increment a Wild multiplier up to a maximum of 3x per Wild.

In Michael’s free spins game, two, three, or four reels can sync and spin together. The symbols on synced reels will be identical. This happens with every spin during the free spins and the synced reels move around.

With Sarah’s free spins game, mystery symbols can change to coin prizes or any other symbol except the scatter. These mystery symbols remain on the reels for the duration of the rolls and are removed with each new spin. There’s also a Multiplier Trail during these free spins, which can reach a maximum of 6x, and resets with each spin.

Landing three or more scatter symbols during Troy, Michael, and Sarah’s free spins will award an additional three spins.

The final new addition to the Immortal Romance saga is the Bloodline which rewards players when reaching set milestones. Players are awarded new music tracks and visual themes to customize their gaming experience. Wild Desire also becomes available to buy in the Buy Feature.

Bonus features rating

95/100 Bonus features are the name of the game
  • Four types of free spins rounds
  • Four jackpots
  • Only awarded 12 free spins
  • Wild Desire takes long to tigger

Immortal Romance is definitely known for its bonus features, and I was pleased to see so many of the original bonus features were retained and new content was included.

The four jackpots are a great addition. The spinning of the wheel to determine which jackpot is awarded is also a fun aspect. Plus, there’s the chance for some big wins as the Sarah jackpot can award up to 1,500x the bet.

The four free spins were a feature I enjoyed on the first Immortal Romance slot, but a criticism I had was that you might never unlock all four free spins games. Games Global has fixed that in this slot by making all four free spins games available from the first trigger, which is a great solution.

There are fewer free spins awarded, as all four free spins games award just 12 free spins when in Immortal Romance 1 you could have up to 25 free spins. The bonus features assigned to each free spins round are a big plus. I found Troy’s free spins in particular delivered the highest wins, thanks to the Locking Wilds.

The Wild Desire feature was very cool in the original slot and it’s great to have it again. The inclusion of an impressive 1024 paylines on a five-reel four-row grid just for the feature is unique.

The downside? It almost never triggers. I didn’t manage to trigger this feature once, which was disappointing. The Blood Drop symbols land frequently on the reels, but I never had two of them.

Audiovisuals of Immortal Romance 2

The Immortal Romance 2 slot has retained the same aesthetic as the first slot, with higher-quality graphics, increased details, and smoother animations.

Immortal Romance 2 Slot On A Mobile Screen

The background of the game window shows the same gothic-style windows, with an eerie light coming through. The symbols are much more detailed, with smoother lines and the characters look 3D now compared to the flat 2D symbols from the first Immortal Romance.

Immortal Romance 2 has a lot of animations that bring it to life. The characters have individual animations when they form part of a winning line, other symbols glow or grow. The Locked Wilds have a specific animation too, where the stone corners of the symbol hook around, physically ‘locking’ it onto the reels.

The ambient music track, called ‘Nocturne’, is the same track as the original slot, with more base undertones. During the free spins rounds, each character has their own song with lyrics that are sung by different voice actors. These songs help tell the stories of these characters.

Audiovisuals rating

90/100 High-quality audiovisuals to set the scene
  • Music tracks for each character
  • High-quality graphics
  • Overkill on the music

The audiovisuals are the second strongest feature in this slot, after the bonus features. The new graphics are cleaner, modern, and create a much more immersive slot. I really liked that the slot is instantly recognizable as an Immortal Romance slot, but has a visibly improved design.

The smooth animations make it engaging and keep the slot moving constantly. There’s a lot of focus on the small details like the grid growing when the last reels are spinning to reveal a Wild Desire Blood Drop.

While in the first slot, the individual characters did have their own songs, Games Global went a step further this time and wrote lyrics that tell each character’s storyline and they’re sung by the character during the free spins round.

I did find this aspect to be a slight overkill. There’s a lot going on and I don’t think so many individual songs were necessary. They don’t sound that great, but it’s a level of depth and commitment to the slot’s overall design, which true fans of the slot will appreciate.

Immortal Romance 2 slot game layout

Immortal Romance 2 has a 5×3 layout with 243 ways to win.

The game is very easy to play, as you just need to hit the spin button to get the reels going. If you want to adjust your bet, click on the stacked coins button. If you’re familiar with Immortal Romance 1, then getting around the slot will be easy.

The settings and the paytable can be accessed through the menu. If you need further instructions, there are three dots in the top left corner of the window. This is where you can access the help.

Turbo mode is available, which delivers the spin results instantly. Autoplay is available, with the option to have 10, 25, 50, or 100 autospins. You can also choose how many spins you want with a sliding bar, which offers more options.

On mobile, the slot can be played in portrait mode and landscape. In landscape, the buttons are pushed to the far left and right, with a lot of empty space on either side of the grid. In portrait mode, everything sits under the grid which makes it easier to access. The grid is also much bigger and clearer when playing in portrait mode.

Game layout rating

88/100 Autoplay is still limited
  • Turbo mode
  • Slot works well on mobile
  • Basic Autoplay

The autoplay, unfortunately, hasn’t been developed since the first slot 12 years ago. There are no additional settings or limits you can set. The slot even offers the same maximum number of autospins, which is 100.

I was hoping this would have been more developed, as most autoplay features available in modern slots offer a higher number of autospins with additional settings.

Getting around the slot is simple. All the buttons are in the same place as in the previous slot but are more clearly defined.

When it comes to mobile, it’s a clean transition to a smaller screen. Unless you’re playing in landscape mode. The slot works fine, but it doesn’t look right in landscape, there’s too much empty space and the buttons are spread apart. Portrait mode works perfectly and runs very smoothly.
