Expert verdict
Lucky Larry’s Lobstermania Slingo is an entertaining addition to the series. If you’re looking for big payouts like in Lobstermania 1 and 2, however, this is not the slot for you.
The payouts are much lower than the previous two slots, with the highest-paying symbol paying out just 5x. With a maximum bet of $20, that doesn’t get you very far.
The bonus features are identical to Lobstermania 2 and they’re a critical part of the slot as they’re where you get any wins. Unless you land a jackpot in the base game, you don’t earn any wins through Slingo. The jackpots, however, don’t land frequently.
The Buoy Bonus still has too many steps, but it’s an innovative feature that the Lucky Larry series is known for. Being able to play up to 240 free spins is great, especially if you have a multiplier attached to them, though with the volatility of this game, that doesn’t seem likely.
From an audiovisual perspective, audio is much better, which improves the gaming experience. Visually, though, the game is the same as the previous Lobstermania slot. As this was released a few years after the previous slot, I was expecting more refined visuals, especially when it came to Lucky Larry’s Buoy Bonus.
- 96.44% RTP
- Great mobile version
- Multipliers, free spins, and jackpots
- Disappointing payouts
- Visuals haven’t improved
- Bet range of $0.20–$20

Lucky Larry’s Lobstermania Slingo slot RTP and volatility
Lucky Larry enters the world of Slingo with an RTP of 96.44% and high volatility. At the start of the game, players are given 10 spins to match the numbers on the reel at the bottom with those on the grid.
Players need to complete winlines to get Slingo. There are 12 winlines to fill up on the 5×5 grid. Each time a Slingo is completed, players move up the pay ladder and closer to triggering a bonus game.
Payout facts
Category | Details |
---|---|
RTP | 96.44% |
Maximum win | 9,000x |
Highest-paying symbol | Buoy |
Volatility | High |
After the 10 spins have finished, you can keep spinning with extra spins. The cost of the extra spins depends on the grid positions that remain and potential prizes, and they can exceed your original bet. The RTP is reduced to 95.22% when playing the extra spins.
One of the bonus games that can be triggered is the free spins round, which has the same symbols as Lobstermania 2, with different payouts. The low-paying symbols are 8, 9, 10, J, Q, and K. With these symbols, you need a minimum of four symbols for a win and they pay out 0.4x. Landing five awards a payout of 1.4x.
The high-paying symbols are the boathouse, lighthouse, Larry’s fishing boat, and the buoy. The buoy is the highest paying symbol, paying out 5x for five symbols. With the high-paying symbols, you need a minimum of three for a win.
A new symbol is the boot symbol from the base game. This is a blocking symbol and stops you from forming Slingos.
Payouts rating
- 96.44% RTP
- Max win of 9,000x
- Payouts lower than Lobstermania 2
- No wins without bonuses
Despite the above-average RTP, this slot doesn’t really payout. Unless you earn more than four Slingos, there are no payouts in this game because the payouts come entirely from what you earn in bonuses.
Because of that, I found I was spending more in bets on my extra spins, than in what I was winning once I completed a Slingo.
With the high volatility, it can also take a long time to complete Slingos. I had a few games where in my 10 spins, I managed to complete over four or five Slingos, so I won some bonus games. I had a lot of games, however, where my 10 spins didn’t award me any bonuses at all, so I had to keep spinning to complete enough Slingos.
The payouts on this slot are also disappointing. The max bet is $20, and the payouts on the free spins are much lower than in Lobstermania 2. The highest-paying symbol in Lobstermania 2 paid out 8,000x. In Lobstermania Slingo, the maximum payout is 5x. With such a low max bet, big wins are hard to come by.
Stakes on Lucky Larry’s Lobstermania Slingo
Lobstermania Slingo has a bet range of $0.20–$20. However, I did find some demos that mention a max bet of $100. Check the range at your casino in case it varies by jurisdiction.

Maximum bet | $20 |
Adjustable paylines | N/A |

Buy feature | Available for base Slingo game |
You can adjust the bet by clicking on the coins symbol before the 10 spins start. You cannot adjust the bet range once the 10 spins have started and won’t be able to until the game has finished.
During the Slingo base game, extra spins will only be offered if there’s a chance of landing a bonus through the next spin. Getting to some of those bonuses might necessitate a Wild or Super Wild to land on the reel.
When it comes to pricing the extra spins, the values are rounded up to the nearest whole number, which can affect the overall RTP especially when playing at lower stakes.
Stake limits rating
- Easy to make your bet
- Few betting options
- Bet range of $0.20-$20
This was a surprisingly low bet range. Compared to Lobstermania 2, which had a max bet of $300, a max bet of $20 is disappointing.
Because of the nature of how the extra spins are calculated, a higher bet could end up quite costly for such a short game. A maximum of $20 paired with the low payouts of this game, however, means you never really land any significant wins. There are also only four betting options, which gives you very little room to adjust your bet.
The thing about the extra spins is that the more you buy, the more you stand to lose as the price is calculated based on what you could win, rounded to the nearest whole value.
This wouldn’t work for high-rollers at all, but players with a more limited budget would find this betting range works in their favor.
Bonus Features on Lucky Larry’s Lobstermania Slingo
Lobstermania Slingo has kept a lot of the previous slot’s bonus features.
During the base game, the blue Wild allows you to mark any number in the column above it on the grid. The orange Wild allows you to mark any number on the grid, from any column.
The game also has the same three jackpots from Lobstermania 2. The jackpots are awarded when enough adjacent symbols with the Jackpot overlay land in the grid. Three symbols are needed for the Light Trap, four for the Full Trap, and five for the Mother Lode. These are only available in the Slingo base game.
There are two bonus games in Lobstermania Slingo: the Buoy Bonus and free spins. These bonus games are triggered according to how many Slingos you complete.

The free spins bonus is triggered when six, eight, 10, and 12 Slingos are completed. The number of free spins awarded depends on how many Slingos were triggered. Six Slingos awards just five free spins, but 12 awards 20 free spins and a x3 multiplier.
The free spins is the same as in Lobstermania 2, where the game switches to night mode. During free spins, symbols need to land starting from the leftmost reel for a win and there are 1024 ways to win.
The Wilds in the free spins round substitute for other symbols. The blue Wild can substitute for all symbols except the bonus symbol and the orange Wild, while the orange Wild substitutes for all except the bonus symbol.
The bonus symbol is the Lobstermania logo. It only appears during the free spins round and awards five extra free spins when three bonus symbols land on the grid. There’s also a Free Spin symbol in the Slingo base game. This awards a free extra spin after the 10 spins have been played.
The Buoy Bonus is triggered when completing five, seven, nine, and 12 Slingos. Like in the earlier Lobstermania slots, the Buoy Bonus awards players a number of picks. The number of picks awarded is determined by how many Slingos are completed. Five Slingos awards just 1–2 picks, but 12 Slingos awards 5–7.
Once the Buoy Bonus starts, players need to choose a location like in Lobstermania 2. The game moves to the chosen location, which also determines how many picks were awarded. Players need to choose from the buoys in the sea, to determine what prizes are awarded. Larry pulls up the lobster trap and pulls different-sized lobsters and trash out of the trap, awarding cash prizes.
If the Golden Lobster is found then the mini-bonus game starts. This depends on which location you’ve selected: there’s the Pelican bonus for Maine, the Kangaroo bonus for Australia, and the Octopus bonus for Brazil.
In the Pelican bonus, pick a pelican to reveal a win amount. You have three chances to pick a pelican and to accept or reject the win. For the Kangaroo bonus, pick kangaroos to reveal win values until you find the golden lobster. The total accumulated win is awarded.
The Octopus bonus is similar. Pick chests to reveal multipliers until you find the golden lobster. The golden lobster cash win is multiplied by the last multiplier you found. In all bonuses, all wins are multiplied by the base game stake.
Bonus features rating
- Multipliers, free spins, and jackpots
- Up to 240 free spins
- Bonuses are complicated
- Bonuses underwhelming due to low payouts
The bonuses are identical to what’s available in Lobstermania 2. What’s changed is how much access to each bonus you get and the payouts from them. The fact remains, the bonuses are still overdone.
Larry’s bonus has a lot of steps and selection, and because of the low payouts in this game, all those steps never really felt like they paid off. Both bonuses maximize your wins – it’s where your wins come from to begin with – but when the payouts aren’t that great, that doesn’t stand for much.
It’s an entertaining bonus feature, and the golden lobster bonuses are a cool potential mini-game. I was more successful in this slot, than in Lobstermania 2, and got the golden lobster twice.Â
Those were probably my highest wins out of all my attempts, and those wins were never more than $150, so all those steps in the bonuses and the game overall don’t feel very rewarding.
While in Lobstermania 2 I found I landed jackpot wins fairly often, I didn’t get any in this game. The jackpot overlay lands pretty frequently during the Slingo base game, but there are never enough for a jackpot win.
Lucky Larry’s Lobstermania slot audiovisuals
Lobstermania Slingo has kept the same audiovisual style as Lobstermania 2. The background of the Slingo base game is the same: a sandy beach, the sea, and a lighthouse. The Slingo grid sits on a pile of driftwood and is outlined with rope.

The grid consists of 25 squares, which all contain a number. The numbers are written in the same font and red-to-yellow ombre colorway as the Lobstermania logo. The bottom reel has five squares, and the numbers are greenish-yellow. On the right of the reel is a porthole containing the number of spins left.
Audiovisual facts
Category | Details |
---|---|
Theme | Fishing |
Graphics | Vibrant and colorful, with a mixture of 2D and 3D |
Animations | Good |
Sound quality | Good |
Mobile compatibility | Good |
The free spins game is identical to Lobstermania 2. Quirky, cartoon-like symbols and high-paying symbols have small animations when they form part of a winning combination. There’s a new jingle, which is played every time there’s a win. The high-paying symbols have winning sounds along with their animations.
Larry’s Buoy Bonus uses the same 3D graphics style and voice. Depending on which location you choose, there will be an element in the background that changes to represent that location. For example, when playing the Australia bonus, there’s the Sydney Opera House.
The three mini-bonus games also use the same 3D graphics.
Music-wise, the game uses the same ‘Rock Lobster’ track for the background music. In this game, however, the track plays all the way through and doesn’t stop and start with each spin of the reels.
Audiovisuals rating
- Quirky, cartoonish visuals
- Improved audio
- ‘Rock Lobster’ track is repetitive
- 3D visuals haven’t been updated
I was so glad that the developers adjusted the audio for this slot, it really improves the gaming experience.
Hearing the ‘Rock Lobster’ track play all the way through is just much better. If you play the game for a long time, there’s a chance this track could get annoying as it’s a repetitive tune, however, the song has the right pace for a Slingo game.
The winning jingles and sounds are also much cleaner. It’s a gentler winning jingle that works with the symbols’ winning sounds, rather than trying to compete with them.
Visually, not much has changed. Considering this slot came out five years after Lobstermania 2, I was expecting some fresher visuals, but it looks almost identical.
The free spins round has been copy and pasted from Lobstermania 2, which was a bit of a bummer as I was expecting to see something a little different.
Larry’s Buoy Bonus 3D visuals are the same, using the same stiff, robotic voice. I was expecting more refined visuals here since the game came out much later. The consistent quirky visuals are part of the charm of this slot, but there was room for improvement and there wasn’t much to be seen.
Lucky Larry’s Lobstermania Slingo game layout
Lobstermania Slingo’s game has just two buttons. On the top right there is the menu button, which opens up the mute button, the game instructions, and play controls.
The play controls allow you to set the maximum number of extra spins offered, and you can set the maximum price, maximum stake for any single game, and maximum loss. The game will automatically end if any of these limits are reached.

Reel layout | 5×5 |
Autoplay | First 10 Slingo spins |
Turbo mode | N/A |
Ease of use | Very easy |
Game history | N/A |
In the play controls, you can set the number of extra spins between zero and eight, the max extra spin price up to 25x your stake, and the single game stake and single loss up to 50x.
To get the game started, press the ‘Start Game’ button. The same button is used for extra spins. On the bottom left you can see your current bet, and your balance is on the bottom right. Before the initial 10 spins start, the coin button sits under the Slingo pay ladder.
The slot doesn’t have Turbo spins or game history.
The slot works great in portrait mode on mobile, where the grid takes up almost the entire screen. In landscape mode, the slot works great too but it’s a smaller game window so it doesn’t feel as comfortable.
Game layout rating
- Works great on mobile
- Play control settings
- No additional features
From a traditional slot perspective, a couple of expected game layout features are missing, such as autoplay and turbo spin.
However, these features aren’t really necessary because of how the game works. The game doesn’t need an autoplay because the first 10 spins run automatically and the same goes for the free spins. Turbo spin isn’t needed either because the game moves so fast and each full game is very short.
I appreciated the play control settings. It has a similar role to autoplay settings and helps players exercise control over the extra spins since it’s where you stand to lose the most.
You can even set your number of extra spins to zero, ending the game immediately. The max number of extra spins you can set is eight, so it’s good to know the game also won’t go further than that.Â
The longer you spin, the greater the loss you risk since the cost for extra spins is based on what you stand to gain on the grid. The game asks you if you want to proceed each time the spin cost goes over a certain amount.
The mobile version of this slot is the best out of the three Lobstermania games so far. It’s smooth, fast, and it adapts naturally to portrait mode. The grid takes up the full screen so it’s just comfortable and easy. Landscape works fine, but it’s not as big a game window so everything appears smaller.
