Money Train 3 is Relax Gaming’s bigger and harsher return to their train-heist series. The Western setup from the earlier games here turns into a darker sci-fi ride, with a 5×4 reel grid, 40 fixed paylines, and a Money Cart bonus packed with collectors and necromancers.

In this Money Train 3 slot review I’ll look at the wait for the bonus, the 100,000x max win, the new modifier symbols, and whether this sequel gives you enough during the slower sessions.

The Money Train 3 slot review summary

Money Train 3 is Relax Gaming’s third train heist slot, running on 5 reels, 4 rows, and 40 fixed paylines. The RTP is 96.10%, while the Feature Buy version is at 96.50%. Volatility is high, the max win goes up to 100,000x the bet, and the stake range runs from $0.10 to $10 per spin.

This version feels more like a darker machine room version of the series. There are masked characters, metal reels, neon, Wilds, Bonus symbols, and a sticky-symbol respin in the base game.

The Money Cart round carries most of the excitement, with collectors, snipers, necromancers, persistent symbols, expanding reels, and several buy options at casinos that allow them.

Pros

  • 100,000x max win

  • Persistent modifiers

  • Sticky-symbol respins

Cons

  • High volatility

  • $10 maximum stake

  • Bonus round has a lot of symbols to learn

Money Train 3 comprehensive review

For this Money Train 3 review, I’ll start with the RTP, high volatility, 100,000x max win, fixed paylines, and bet range. After that, I’ll go through the Bonus symbols, Money Cart round, persistent modifiers, paytable, and more.

RTP and volatility

Money Train 3 is a high-volatility slot with a 96.10% RTP. The Buy Feature version is at 96.50%. The maximum win is 100,000x the bet.

The game uses a 5×4 layout with 40 fixed paylines. Wins pay from left to right, starting on the first reel. Paylines stay active on every spin.

Time2play Expert Analysis As I was expecting, the high volatility felt right pretty quickly. I had a few small wins early, then longer parts where the balance just moved down and stayed there. I lowered the stake after a short test, mostly because this slot wants you to last long enough to get to the Money Cart round.

The 96.10% RTP is fine for a slot with this kind of ceiling. I’d still keep the bet smaller than planned at first, because the 100,000x max win sounds great and then the regular spins remind you what kind of game you opened.

Money Train 3 felt harsher than Money Train 2 to me, which makes sense with a bigger top prize. I liked having the base game respins around, although they didn’t change things much unless they connected with something interesting.

Bonus features

In Money Train 3 slot, the Gas Mask is the Wild symbol. It can land on all reels and substitutes for regular paying symbols. When Wilds form their own line win, they pay the same as the highest-paying regular symbol.

The Bonus symbol is the Scatter-style symbol used to trigger the Money Cart Bonus Round. Landing 3 or more Bonus symbols anywhere on the reels starts this feature. Persistent gold symbols can also count as Bonus symbols when it’s triggered.

The base game Respin feature can happen after a spin with no win. One symbol already on the reels is chosen at random and becomes sticky. The game awards a respin, and any new matching symbols that land also become sticky. The respins continue while more of the chosen symbol appears. Multiplier symbols can also land during this feature, with x1, x2, or x3 added to the win multiplier.

The Money Cart Bonus Round starts with 3 spins. The triggering Bonus symbols stay on the grid and reveal values. New value symbols and special symbols also stay on the grid, and each new symbol resets the spin counter back to 3. Regular value symbols can show values from 1x to 10x the bet.

The bonus grid can expand during the Money Cart round. When a column is filled with symbols, an extra column opens. This can happen twice, taking the bonus from 5 reels to 7 reels.

Money Train 3 has several special symbols in the Money Cart Bonus Round:

  • The Collector collects all visible values and adds them to its own value.
  • The Sniper doubles 3 to 8 other Bonus symbols, and the same symbol can be doubled more than once.
  • The Collector-Payer chooses 3 to 5 symbols, adds their values to its own value, then adds its updated value back to those same symbols.
  • The Necromancer brings back 2 to 7 used non-persistent special symbols. The same used symbol can be revived more than once.
  • The Absorber absorbs regular value symbols on the grid, removes them from the reels, and adds those values to itself. Special symbols are separate from this action.
  • The Tommy Gun Sniper chooses a random target and doubles that target 2 to 6 times.
  • The Tommy Gun Payer shows a value from 5x to 100x, then adds that value to a random symbol 3 to 10 times.

Persistent symbols keep acting after the spin where they land:

  • The Persistent Collector collects visible values at the end of the current spin and every spin after that.
  • The Persistent Sniper doubles 3 to 8 other Bonus symbols at the end of the current spin and every spin after that.
  • The Persistent Collector-Payer chooses 3 to 5 symbols at the end of each spin, adds their values to its own, then pays its updated value back to those symbols.
  • The Persistent Necromancer brings back 1 to 7 used non-persistent special symbols for reuse.
  • The Persistent Shapeshifter changes into a different special symbol after every spin.

Money Train 3 has four Bonus Buy options in versions where feature purchases are available.

Time2play Expert Analysis Two or three symbols into the Money Cart round, I usually had a pretty good idea of what kind of bonus I was getting. The round needed something to mess with them. Collector helped when there were enough values already there. Sniper was better when it had good targets and didn’t waste itself on small numbers.

Persistent Collector was the one I wanted early, but not “nice to have”. Necromancer, on the other hand, was more awkward. Sometimes it brought back exactly the kind of symbol the round needed, and sometimes it just dragged me a weak bonus.

The 500x buy is the one I wouldn’t rush into. I understand the idea, especially after a long cold run, but it can still give a round that feels expensive first before it feels exciting.

Symbols and paytable

Money Train 3 pays for 3, 4, or 5 matching symbols across its 40 fixed paylines.

The lower-paying symbols are the metal card suits: Diamond, Club, Heart, and Spade. Five matching card-suit symbols pay from 3x to 5x the bet.

Here’s how the regular symbol payouts look at $1 and $50 bets. The $50 column is only a payout example, since the provider version usually has a $10 maximum stake.

Time2play Expert Analysis I opened the paytable once, checked the top end, and that was enough. Five Wilds or five Necromancers pay 20x, so on a $1 bet that’s $20, easy number to remember.

The suits were mostly small wins. I only paid attention when a Wild landed with the character symbols, because that was when a regular spin had a chance to pay me something better.

The Bonus symbols were the real thing on the reels. One was just one, two made me wait for the third. And three meant Money Cart, and that was the reason I was there for.

Expert verdict

Money Train 3 looks better than most online slots before the bonus even starts. It has that dirty metal, neon, masked gang vibe to it, half Western and half sci-fi, and it works for this series. The game looks somewhat more crowded than Money Train 2, in a good way.

It took me a little while to warm up to the actual play, though. The game looks big right away, but the regular spins can still feel a bit boring until something opens up. The sticky respins gave it a bit more life, and the Money Cart round was when the whole slot clicked for me. When the bonus started building early, it felt like the sequel it’s supposed to be.

I’ll come back to it for sure, just with a smaller stake and no heroic bankroll plans. Money Train 3 has enough in the bonus to make me want a few more tries, especially if the modifiers start landing early. Give it a try!
