Immortal Romance slot review
Games Global’s Immortal Romance slot is one of its most popular games. It’s a visually rich slot packed with variations of Wilds and four different Free Spins bonus games.
Besides the bounty of bonuses in this slot, it also has an RTP of 96.86% and a potential win of 12,000x your stake. I’ve unpacked all the essentials in this Immortal Romance slot review.

Expert verdict
The Immortal Romance slot is impressive, with a great soundtrack and animation details that rival even modern slots. It boasts four bonus rounds, each with its own special feature such as tumbling reels, and a Wild Desire mini-game that transforms up to all five reels into Wild reels.
From a betting perspective, however, this is where the slot needs to catch up. Despite having an RTP of 96.86% and medium volatility, the betting range is $0.30–$30. It starts a little too high and doesn’t go much further, making it a little inaccessible for both low and high-stakes players.
There is potential for big wins as you could win 12,000x your stake, which I think does redeem the slot, despite its low betting range.
The slot also has a few technical issues, like the glitchy scrolling bar in the Payouts table. The Autoplay and Quick Spin features are also limited, which is disappointing for a slot that has given so much attention to detail.
- 12,000x max win
- 243 ways to win
- Four unique Free Spins rounds
- Difficult to find important information
- Limited Autoplay function
- Bet range of $0.30–$30

Immortal Romance slot RTP and volatility
The Immortal Romance slot is a medium volatility slot with an RTP of 96.86%, although I did find a few demos where they mentioned the RTP can range between 92% and 94%. Always consult the Help section to check what the RTP is at your casino.
Payout facts
Category | Details |
---|---|
RTP | 96.86% |
Maximum win | 12,000x |
Highest-paying symbol | Wild and Scatter |
Volatility | Medium |
Immortal Romance comes with 12 symbols. The six low-paying symbols are traditional card symbols from 9 to Ace. The 9 and 10 are the lowest-paying symbols, paying out just $0.05 for three symbols and $1 for five.
On the higher-paying end, four character symbols form part of the Immortal Romance storyline. The characters are Amber, Troy, Michael, and Sarah. Sarah is the highest-paying character symbol, paying out $5 for five symbols.
The Immortal Romance slot also has a Wild and a Scatter symbol which are the highest-paying symbols on the slot. Landing five of the Wild symbol awards $15, whereas five of the Scatter awards $60.
Payouts rating
- 243 paylines
- Scatters and Wilds give big payouts
- Can’t adjust paylines
While playing the slot, I felt it paid out pretty frequently. Some of those payouts were quite small but I did average a few bigger ones.
With my bet set to the minimum of $0.30, I had wins of $0.05, $0.10, $0.75, and even one of $5.30. On the max bet of $30, I had wins of $5, $80, $714, and $300. I also landed two Scatters pretty often, which paid out $30 when I had it set to the max bet.
While its payout values start small (just $0.05 for three 9s), the payout potential does increase incrementally with each symbol, going all the way up to $5 for five Sarah symbols. Compare it to Clash of Gods payout values.
Three of its lowest-paying symbols pay out $0.05 when you land three symbols, like in Immortal Romance, but then its highest-paying symbol only awards $1 for five symbols.
On the other hand, another game that starts with a payout of $0.05 for three symbols is Invaders from the Planet Moolah. Its highest-paying symbol awards $7.50 for five.
Despite its higher payout potential, however, Invaders from the Planet Moolah seldom paid out for me, since it was a more volatile slot with a slightly lower RTP. In games of chance you can’t take that as a guarantee, so always proceed with caution.
Immortal Romance slot stakes
The bet range on the Immortal Romance slot is $0.30–$30. From the bet panel, you can either use the bet size slider for more precision or use one of the seven quick bet options: 0.30, 2.10, 4.50, 10.50, 24.00, 27.00, and 30.00. The bet size slider has more increments available for low-stakes slots, starting at 0.30 before moving up to 0.60, 0.90, 1.20, 1.50, and 1.80.

On the Immortal Romance slot, you can win up to 12,000x your stake, with a max win of $364,500. With five Wilds on the max bet paying out $1,500 and five Scatters $6,000, there is the potential for some big wins.
Stake limits rating
- 12,000x bet max win
- Easy to adjust your bet
- Bet range is limiting
- Bets start at $0.30
Despite having good payout values, Immortal Romance’s bet range is a letdown. It starts at $0.30, which is pretty high, and only increases up to $30.
Invaders from the Planet Moolah starts out at $0.25, which is not much lower, but then its maximum bet is $125, which gives a lot of room to adjust your bet in smaller increments.
Adjusting your bet on Immortal Romance isn’t difficult, but the slider also reveals how big the increments are between one bet and another. It’s limiting for players who are more conscious of their bankroll.
Even players who enjoy a high-stakes game might prefer a greater bet range. Starting at $0.30 and then jumping to $0.60, $0.90, $1.20, and $1.50 means there are pretty big gaps between bets, which only get bigger.
The potential to win 12,000x your stake is a big plus, especially when there are 243 ways to win. The maximum win, however, seems to be capped at $364,500, according to the slot’s paytable, which seems a bit limited considering this slot has the potential for big payouts.
Immortal Romance slot bonus features
Immortal Romance has a lot on offer when it comes to bonus features. It has a Wild symbol that substitutes for all other symbols except the Scatter symbol. When substituted for another symbol, it also has a x2 multiplier that doubles the win.
Wild Desire is a bonus game that is triggered randomly at any point in the game, where up to all five reels can be transformed into Wild reels. The entire game window and the reels turn blood red, with the word Wild dripping onto the chosen reels.
The Immortal Romance slot has four Free Spins bonus games, triggered by landing three or more Scatters. The player is shown the four bonus options that they’ll be able to select once they’ve been unlocked. There’s also a progress bar, which shows how many Free Spins rounds need to be triggered for the other bonuses to become available.

During the Amber bonus, there are 10 free spins with a 5x multiplier on each win. After the Free Spins bonus round has been triggered five times, players can choose between the Amber bonus or the new Troy bonus, which includes 15 free spins plus the Vampire Bats feature. Bats fly onto the reels and turn any symbol into a Wild, with a multiplier of up to 6x.
The third bonus is the Michael bonus. This is available from the 10th free spins trigger and has 20 free spins. It also includes the Rolling Reels feature, which is tumbling reels. Each time a consecutive win happens, a multiplier is added to the win. The multipliers increase by 1 each time up to 5x.
The fourth bonus is the Sarah bonus. It’s available from the 15th free spins trigger and has 25 free spins. When 2, 3, 4, or 5 Scatter symbols appear on the grid, you win 1, 2, 3, and 4 extra free spins respectively. It also includes the Wild Vine feature. The symbol appears on the third reel and transforms up to 15 symbols into Wilds.
Bonus features rating
- Four types of Free Spins rounds
- Special features in each free spins round
- Free Spins rounds hard to trigger
- Might never trigger all four bonuses
Immortal Romance has a lot of bonus games and goes into a lot of detail with all of them. They’re all pretty innovative, which makes a change from the standard run-of-the-mill free spins round.
It does take time to unlock the different free spins bonus games. To even get to the third one you need to have triggered free spins 10 times, which is not all that likely, so there is a chance you’ll never trigger all of them.
I only managed to trigger the second bonus game, as that requires five free spins rounds to unlock.
During my first free spins round, I won $2,097, thanks to the 5x multiplier. In the second round, I actually didn’t win anything, and the remaining Amber rounds averaged out.
When it came to the Troy bonus, my first free spins round paid out $2,362, so there is the potential for some pretty big payouts during the bonus rounds.
The Wild Desire mini-game took long to trigger but then started to pop up a few times and I got some good wins of around $288.
In a game that already has the potential to deliver good payouts, it’s surprising there are so many innovative bonus features, but they do help make the game more engaging.
Audiovisuals of Immortal Romance
The Immortal Romance slot is on theme when it comes to audiovisuals. The symbols are detailed, including small features like a pocket watch wrapped around the King symbol or a ring on the Jack.
There are four gothic-style windows behind the grid with two gargoyles on top. The background and the border of the grid change for each bonus game.

There are also classic and basic animations throughout the game, plus some more complex animations. When landing five of any character symbol, a small video animation plays that’s specific to the character and their storyline.

The slot has an atmospheric background track that plays during the base game. There are winning jingles and dramatic casino sounds too. The game also has its own soundtrack for the different bonus games and the character symbols.
Audiovisuals rating
- Graphics on theme
- Highly detailed slot
- Visuals are a bit dated
- Animations are basic
For a slot that came out in 2011, there is an impressive amount of detail. Some of the visuals do feel more dated than others, and the animations are rather classic too, at times even a bit cheesy and basic. But that doesn’t stop this slot from being pretty immersive.
In the Paytable you can read the back story of each character, and each one has their own music track, which is a level of detail I’ve never come across in a slot. Games Global has really worked to build, not just a game, but a story and a world around it.
In Immortal Romance 2, you can see how Games Global refined and updated the visuals. A lot of the symbols have been retained, but the graphics are crisper, cleaner, and smoother.
It’s like the developers took the first edition and made it high-definition. The sequel slot also has similar atmospheric music that’s been developed just for the game and it’s great to see that was retained.
So this shows that, at the base of this is a great game, with a lot to show for it, but visually it needed a little work.
Immortal Romance slot game layout
The slot has a classic layout of five reels and three rows, with 243 ways to win. Playing the game is easy since all you need is the Spin button and the Bet button. Finding the instructions and paytable took a little longer.
Underneath the Bet button is the Lobby button, where you can access the Settings to mute all sounds, and turn on Quick Spin and the Mini Paytables.

In the Lobby there’s also the Paytable which is unfortunately glitchy. There are also three dots at the left corner of the game, leading to the Help section where all the remaining game information can be found.
The slot also has Autoplay, which offers 10, 25, 50, or 100 autospins. These can be chosen by using a slider or the buttons.
Game layout rating
- Quick spin
- Works well on mobile
- Mini paytables show current payouts
- Basic Autoplay
- Info hard to find
- Scrolling in Paytable is glitchy
The Autoplay is quite limited compared to most slots I’ve come across. In Immortal Romance, you can only select how many autospins you want, and that goes up to 100.
Dead or Alive 1, for example, not only offers up to 1000 autospins, but you can also choose from Advanced Settings to stop on any win or after losing a certain amount and more.
Quick spin is available by hitting the Lightning bolt above Autoplay, but it’s not as fast as it could be. It’s just slightly faster than the regular game mode.
The Mini Paytables are a nice touch. These can be switched on or off according to your preference, but they can be a useful reference point.
What I found to be the biggest area for improvement, however, was being able to access information on the slot. The Paytable is easy to find but the scroll bar moves too fast so it’s very difficult to read.
I tested out quite a few demos to make sure it wasn’t just mine, and I was disappointed to find it was a common feature.
It also took me some time to find critical information, like the slot RTP and further game details that weren’t in the Paytable. The Help is not in an obvious place.
Typically in most slots, this is underneath the grid where all the other useful buttons can be found and is often represented by a more recognizable button too.
The slot does work well on mobile, both in portrait and landscape mode. The grid is a good size, making all the symbols clear, and the buttons are easily accessible. The scrolling issue in the Paytable isn’t present on mobile, so players may find the slot is better on mobile.
