Super Cascade
Land a cluster with at least 5 matching symbols on adjacent squares, and a Super Cascade will clear out the winning symbols. Unlike regular cascading reels, this feature also removes all matching symbols outside the cluster.
At the same time, new symbols drop into the empty spaces, which gives you an extra chance at a winning combo. This continues until a Super Cascade can’t form any more wins.
Win to Win
When you form a cluster of 5+ symbols, the positions behind them become Marked Squares. If a Rainbow symbol comes along, it’ll activate those squares, which can then reveal:
- Bronze Coins worth 0.2x, 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 3x, or 4x your stake
- Silver Coins worth 5x, 10x, 15x, or 20x your stake
- Gold Coins worth 25x, 50x, 100x, 250x, or 500x your stake
- 4-Leaf Clovers, which multiply Coin and Bucket of Gold values on adjacent positions by 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, or 10x
- Buckets of Gold, which collect and store all Coin and other Bucket of Gold values
Once the last Bucket of Gold activates, all Marked Squares reactivate with new symbols, and the process repeats until there are no other Buckets of Gold on the grid.

Let’s rip the band-aid off right away: Le Hooligan takes the original Le Bandit’s features and gives them new names. Golden Squares are now Marked Squares, Pots of Gold are now Buckets of Gold, and Luck of the Bandit is now Luck of the Fan. There’s really nothing new here, unlike in 3 Royal Coins, for example, which felt like a genuine step up from Royal Coins 2.
That said, this doesn’t mean the feature set is bad. On the contrary, really. Clovers still offer decent multipliers and Buckets of Gold still reactivate Marked Squares, which gives your winning combos that extra oomph, especially during free spins.
Speaking of, while 8 free spins for Luck of the Fan isn’t a lot, landing 3 scatters on a 30-square grid isn’t that rare, either. All That Glitters Is Gold feels even more rewarding with squares that keep building across 12 free spins. However, guaranteed Rainbows in Treasure at the End of the Rainbow definitely take the cake, as they essentially remove dead spins from the equation.

While Le Hooligan’s 30-square grid offers enough real estate for 10+ symbol clusters to appear, which can be worth your while, they weren’t exactly common for me. Most of my hits came from lining up 5–8 symbols on adjacent squares, and those wins didn’t even help me break even.
Once again, it’s the Super Cascade and the Win to Win mechanic that carry the majority of the weight here. The combos they create can clear large sections of the 6×5 grid, and if a Rainbow symbol also pops up, they can result in decent wins that make up for the thin paytable.

Hacksaw Gaming has drastically expanded its Le series this year, and while I’m always up for more Smokey the Raccoon adventures, this one just isn’t it. Simply put, Le Hooligan is Le Bandit wearing a different shirt, and there’s nothing but visuals to give players a reason to try it.
This entry uses the same feature set as the original 2023 release, including the familiar Super Cascades, the Win to Win mechanic with its well-known Golden Squares now called Marked Squares, and the 3 bonus rounds. Even the RTP, volatility, and the max win are the same.
That said, not every release has to reinvent the wheel. If you’ve never played the slot that started it all and you like football-themed games, this one will be right up your alley. Personally, I’d stick to Le Bandit even if just for the nostalgia and go for a few spins in Le Football Fan during World Cup games, because that one at least switches a few things up in terms of mechanics.
