Wolf Blaze WowPot Megaways was released by Fortune Factory Studios in April 2023 as a new take on the original Wolf Blaze Megaways. This high-volatility slot is part of the massive WowPot! progressive jackpot network. It features a 6-reel Megaways setup with up to 117,649 ways to win, rolling reels, and an extra top tracker reel above reels 2–5.

With an RTP of 86.93% and a base-game max win potential of 18,163x your stake, this slot isn’t really about the best odds you can find. However, it does give you the chance to trigger a jackpot that starts at $2 million.

In this Wolf Blaze WowPot Megaways slot review, I’ll break down everything from the free spins with unlimited multipliers to whether that low RTP is worth the jackpot chase.

Wolf Blaze WowPot Megaways review summary

Fortune Factory Studios has taken the original Wolf Blaze Megaways and replaced its fixed jackpots with the massive WowPot! progressive network. You still get the same 6-reel Megaways slot with rolling reels, a top tracker reel for wilds, and free spins featuring an unlimited win multiplier. However, you now also have a chance at millions instead of just 18,163x your stake from the base game.

The symbols include wolves, bears, cougars, and eagles, set against a background of the North American wilderness. The visuals are fine, kind of like a drawing, and the soundtrack feels like something from The Lion King.

Everything is pretty solid until you get to the 86.93% RTP, which is frankly one of the lowest I’ve seen in any online slot in a long while. So if you have your eyes set on that prize pool that starts at $2 million, you can take a shot at it, but keep in mind that this won’t be an easy ride and that you’ll likely go through lots of dry spells.

Pros

  • 4 progressive jackpots, including WowPot!

  • Free spins with an unlimited win multiplier

  • 18,163x max win potential

Cons

  • 86.93% RTP

  • Wilds appearing only in the top tracker

  • High volatility

Wolf Blaze WowPot Megaways comprehensive review

Before you start spinning the reels of Wolf Blaze WowPot Megaways, let me walk you through everything you need to know about the game’s features, RTP, symbols, gameplay, and what the high volatility means for your playing sessions.

RTP and volatility

The Wolf Blaze WowPot Megaways RTP stands at 86.93%, with 5.30% of that figure contributing directly to the progressive jackpots.

VolatilityHigh

It is a high-volatility game with a base-game max win of 18,163x the stake, plus the WowPot! progressive jackpot that starts at $2 million. The game plays on a 6-reel Megaways grid with up to 117,649 ways to win.

Time2play Expert Analysis

It didn’t take long before I started feeling the brunt of the 86.93% RTP. I noticed my balance dropping faster, without any decent wins to show for it. It also didn’t help that the slot has a 32% hit frequency, which means you’ll lose nearly seven out of every ten spins on average. And even when wins landed, they weren’t big enough to cover even half of my losses.

The original Wolf Blaze Megaways sits at 95.98%, and that extra 9% would have made a world of difference. But Fortune Factory Studios decided to put all that into the WowPot! network, and now it feels like you’re paying for a lottery ticket with every spin. The game’s info section confirms that higher bets lead to higher chances of triggering the jackpot, so you might want to consider that approach if your budget allows it.

Bonus features

Wolf Blaze WowPot Megaways doesn’t really look like the most modern slot, but it does pack several features, including rolling reels, wilds that only appear on the top tracker reel, free spins with an unlimited progressive multiplier, and the WowPot! progressive jackpot pick game.

Rolling reels

You might also know these as cascades, where winning symbols explode and disappear on every winning spin with new ones dropping from above to fill the gaps. This feature gives you another chance to create more wins and continues as long as you keep landing winning combos.

Wild symbol

The wild is a gold coin with a howling wolf and only appears in the top tracker, which sits above reels 2, 3, 4, and 5. The wilds substitute for all symbols except the scatter and also feed into the jackpot feature.

Free spins

Land 4 scatter symbols anywhere on the grid spelling out “W-O-L-F” to trigger 12 free spins. For every new scatter beyond these 4, you get 5 extra spins. In the free spins round, there’s a win multiplier that starts at 1x and increases by 1x on every win, including cascade wins from the rolling reels.

The multiplier is unlimited and won’t reset until your final spin. If you land 3 or 4 more scatters on the top tracker reel, you get 5 or 10 extra free spins, respectively.

WowPot progressive pick game

The WowPot feature can trigger randomly on any spin or even cascade when a wild lands during the base game or free spins. The more wilds you collect in the big golden pot next to the reels, the higher your chance of triggering the feature. You can also boost your chances by betting with higher stakes.

Once the round is active, you enter a pick game with 12 golden tokens face down. You pick them one by one, revealing jackpot names, and the moment you reveal three that are the same, you’re awarded the prize for that jackpot. Here are the minimum amounts for each:

  • WowPot!: $2 million
  • Major: $50,000
  • Minor: $100
  • Mini: $10
Time2play Expert Analysis

The free spins feature is where this slot shines, but you’ll need a great deal of luck to make something out of it. An unlimited multiplier that increases with every single win, including cascades, can really reach mouth-watering levels. However, it’ll take a lot to get there. I played hundreds of spins before I saw 4 scatters, and even then, the multiplier only climbed to 14x before the round ended.

As for the WowPot jackpot feature, I was lucky enough to trigger it once, but again, my poor luck saw me walk away with the Mini prize. Picking the cards was quite intense, and I was really close to the Major, too.

Overall, the features are decent, just hard to come by. I also don’t like that the wilds only appear on the top tracker reel, as it makes the base game feel more restrictive than it should be.

Symbols and paytable

What you’d find in the North American wilderness is what awaits you on the Wolf Blaze WowPot Megaways slot reels. The wolf, eagle, cougar, and bear are high-value symbols, and they pay:

  • Bear:  0.3x, 0.6x, 0.8x, or 2x your stake for 3-6 matches
  • Cougar: 0.3x, 1x, 1.5x, or 2x your stake for 3-6 matches
  • Eagle: 1x, 2x, 2.5x, or 7.5x your stake for 3-6 matches
  • Wolf: 2x, 5x, 10x, 25x, or 50x your stake for 2-6 matches

Meanwhile, the standard card royals are on the lower sides and pay:

  • 9:  0.1x, 0.2x, 0.4x, or 0.8x your stake for 3-6 matches
  • 10: 0.1x, 0.2x, 0.5x, or 0.9x your stake for 3-6 matches
  • J:  0.1x, 0.3x, 0.5x, or 1x your stake for 3-6 matches
  • Q: 0.2x, 0.3x, 0.6x, or 1x your stake for 3-6 matches
  • K,A: 0.2x, 0.4x, 0.6x, or 1.8x your stake for 3-6 matches

These 11 regular symbols are joined by the wild (a golden coin with a howling wolf engraved) and scatter. Wins start from the leftmost reel and pay left to right on adjacent reels across the Megaways grid.

Time2play Expert Analysis

The paytable is decent for a Megaways slot. A 50x payout for six wolves is respectable, and the other animals awarding 2x to 7.5x wins means you don’t always have to land the big dog to get a decent win.

That said, I never landed six wolves during my time playing, and it’s not even that surprising given that the RTP is set at 86.93%. I got four on a few occasions and had lots of wins with the bear, too. The wilds were not of much help because they rarely came to rescue. I’ve said it already, but I really wish wilds appeared on the main reels.

Expert verdict

Wolf Blaze WowPot Megaways has one of the worst RTPs I’ve seen in a modern slot. And when you take the high volatility into consideration, you should prepare yourself for long dry spells. Even the free spins rarely trigger, and the wilds are locked in that tiny top tracker reel instead of appearing across the full grid.

The only reason you should bother playing this release rather than the original is for a chance at the WowPot! jackpot. Starting at $2 million, the game has the potential to be life-changing, and every spin gives you a shot.

You may also be lucky enough to trigger free spins on your ride to glory, and with those unlimited multipliers, you could hit a very strong payout. Still, you’ll have to be patient, so unless your bankroll is hefty and you love chasing jackpots, this might not be the best game for you.
