Queen of Alexandria slot summary
Built around the familiar Egyptian theme and centering on Cleopatra, Queen of Alexandria WOWPOT is a slot designed for jackpot hunters. With four progressive jackpots on offer, its grand prize regularly climbs up to eight-figure sums.
With no Free Spins round available, the gameplay itself is pretty simple and straightforward. To trigger the jackpot wheel, diamond symbols must land alongside pay symbols. While there is no fixed number required, placing higher bets will increase your chances of triggering the feature.
To help keep things moving along as you wait for the jackpot wheel to trigger, the game comes with expanding Wilds and up to three respins per turn.
While the RTP is below average, the medium volatility and high maximum bet limit of $200 per spin helps balance things out for players, especially for those willing to risk more for potential big wins and jackpot triggers.

Queen of Alexandria WOWPOT comprehensive review
In this Queen of Alexandria WOWPOT review, I dissect all the features that really matter to players. Naturally, this includes its trademarked progressive jackpot mechanics along with its RTP, volatility, paylines, and other bonus features. I also test out how the game works in practice as I go through all the pros and cons.
RTP and volatility
Queen of Alexandria’s true slot RTP sits at 87.20%. However, additional jackpot contributions of 5.30% raise the theoretical RTP to 92.50% overall when the jackpot is taken into account.

| Volatility | Medium |
Elsewhere, gameplay comes with medium volatility on a standard 5×3 grid layout with 10 fixed paylines. Wins can be formed in two general directions, starting from the leftmost and rightmost reel on active paylines.
As is often the case with jackpot titles, Queen of Alexandria’s RTP sits well below the 96% industry average. When jackpot contributions are factored in, it narrowly edges another Egyptian-themed slot called MegaJackpots Cleopatra by IGT (92.48%).
Personally, the low RTP at Queen of Alexandria WOWPOT didn’t bother me as much as the limited number of paylines, which can make gameplay feel really stiff at times. Sure, the fact that wins can be formed in both directions adds some much-needed energy to the experience, but still, even 20 paylines is considered low by modern standards, so having just 10 is very limiting.

Bonus features
One of the main features available during the base game is undoubtedly the expanding Wild symbols represented by Cleopatra herself. Substitituting for all other symbols, these Wilds only appear on reels 2, 3 and 4.
When these Wilds come into frame, they expand to cover the entire reel, which therefore increases your chances of landing winning combinations. Plus, the expanded Wild becomes locked in place as it triggers one respin on the remaining reels.
Landing additional Wilds during a respin will trigger another respin. The maximum amount of consecutive respins that can be triggered per turn is three.
In the absence of a Free Spins round, the progressive trigger symbol acts as a makeshift Scatter icon. Represented by small diamonds, these symbols are the key toward triggering the jackpot game and only appear on reels 2, 3, and 4.
What’s interesting to note is that these diamonds do not replace other symbols on the reels. Instead, they appear as small icons beside a pay symbol. Once they appear in frame, the diamonds are transported to a basket of diamonds with a mini jackpot wheel.

There is no fixed number of diamonds needed to trigger the jackpot game. Instead, the event is random, although a higher bet per spin will increase your chances of triggering the jackpot game when diamonds appear.
When it does trigger, a big jackpot wheel appears on the screen consisting of twelve colored segments. Depending on the color, these segments represent one of the four jackpot prizes: Mini, Minor, Major, and WOWPOT.
There are six green segments which represent the Mini jackpot, three blue segments for the Minor prize, two red for the Major jackpot, and one golden segment for the Major jackpot prize.
All you have to do is select the spin button in the middle of the wheel and you are guaranteed to win one of the four jackpots.
Testing this game often felt like waiting for the bus. You wait ages for one to appear, then three arrive all at once. This was my experience with the expanding Wilds mechanic. Combined with the lack of multipliers and other features, it made the slot feel a lot harsher than what the medium volatility rating suggested.
However, when the Wilds did land, I managed to trigger the maximum of three respins on two separate occasions, providing a welcome boost to my winnings. Still though, the respins did little to mask the absence of a Free Spins round, especially when older jackpot titles like Mega Moolah offer one.
Let’s be real though, the game’s main attraction are its jackpots, in particular the WOWPOT prize, which carries the very slim but very real chance of turning you into an overnight millionaire.

Symbols and paytable
Queen of Alexandria WOWPOT is made up of seven pay symbols. Each one consists of three pay tiers, with payouts awarded for three, four, or five matching symbols on active paylines. All symbols are inspired by Egyptian-related iconography, some of which are infused with classic slot imagery such as 7s or BAR.
In fact, the game’s highest paying symbol is a golden cat wearing an Egyptian headdress, accompanied by the word ‘BAR’ underneath. Landing five of these symbols on fixed paylines awards 25x your stake. Four matches award 20x your payout, while three earns 5x your stake.
Next is the 7s symbol, which pays 12x your stake for five matches, 6x for four, and 2.5x for three. This is closely followed by the eye of anubis gem icon, offering 6x the stake for five of a kind, 2.5x for four and 1x for three.

| Mobile quality | Good |
The remaining four symbols have a payout value that ranges between 0.50x and 5x your stake. The maximum win potential excluding the jackpots is not clearly stated within the game rules.
However, when it comes to payouts for progressive jackpots, the jackpots in question reset to the following values after being won:
- WOWPOT jackpot: $2 million
- Major jackpot: $50,000
- Minor jackpot: $100
- Mini jackpot: $10

Those of you with a keen eye will have noticed that the payout tiers on Queen of Alexandria WOWPOT are a carbon copy to those found on Starburst by NetEnt. Aside from an Egyptian reskin, the symbols are also virtually identical.
Even the fact that wins are recorded in both directions is something that Starburst is also known for. Given the success of Starburst, it’s easy to see why this approach was taken but regardless, it totally comes off as lazy and uninspiring in my opinion.
Regarding the payouts themselves, they are generally quite solid without being flashy. There is a noticeable drop-off after the first two symbols which make the lower icons feel a little underwhelming. Naturally, the jackpot prizes go a long way toward making up for that, but overall, the payout values lack in originality and variety.

Expert verdict
When one of the nicest things you can say about a slot is that the layout is clean and the graphics look good, it usually means that the gameplay itself is a bit bare-bones. In truth, the only thing worth chasing in Queen of Alexandria WOWPOT are its progressive jackpots.
To be fair, jackpot hunters won’t care much about a lack of features. Still, it’s disappointing to see no real Free Spins round available, which could have added much needed energy to the overall experience.
The expanding Wilds and respin mechanic do a decent job of spicing things up. However, without supporting features like multipliers or bonus rounds, it feels underdeveloped and short on originality, especially considering how overplayed the theme is.
That said, the massive eight-figure WOWPOT really steals the show. And while landing the top prize is highly unlikely, the Major and Minor jackpots still offer very generous returns when they hit. For that reason, I’d say this slot is worth a go, even if it’s not a game that you’ll come back to very often.
