The game’s RTP falls disappointingly short of the 96% industry average. While not ideal, this didn’t really surprise me considering the slot’s old-school setup and extremely limited paylines.

With no free spins, no multipliers, and no Wild symbols, Sizzling Hot Deluxe gives a whole new meaning to a stripped-down online slot game. Given the game’s design, I get the feeling that this straightforward approach was intentional but still, I can’t let it off that easily.
There are games released around the same time there were already doing a lot more. Released in 2006, Mega Moolah features four progressive jackpots, Wilds, and multipliers. Boof of Ra Deluxe was released in 2008 and comes with a Free Spins round and expanding symbols.
The only thing really worth talking about at Sizzling Hot Deluxe is the Gamble option. It’s simple, fun, effective, and can seriously raise the stakes. Even then, I was annoyed to discover that the feature doesn’t work during autospins.

Next in line in terms of value are the watermelons and grapes, with each one sharing identical payouts across all three tiers (100x for five matches, 200x for four, and 50x for three).

I don’t mind the traditional setup for making bets as I feel it fits the game’s old school feel. The Lucky 7 also carries real weight across all three pay tiers, awarding 1,000x for five matches. For comparison, another fruit-themed slot called 40 Super Hot offers 500x your bet for five Scatters.
That said, the payouts in Sizzling Hot Deluxe drop off quite sharply after that, although can still carry decent return value. However, the most disappointing thing for me was the amount of duplicate pay tiers, especially among low-paying icons.
The paytable is clearly geared toward chasing high-paying Luck 7s across five paylines and pushing wins further through the Gamble feature. However, considering the game offers such limited features, I was hoping for a little more variety here.

The straightforward gameplay and stripped-down mechanics are partly down to age, but even then, Sizzling Hot Deluxe feels too bare bones for me. To its credit, the Gamble feature adds an interesting risk element to gameplay and makes everything feel less repetitive and stale. However, with no free spins, multipliers or even Wild symbols, the novelty of the Gamble feature quickly wears off in my opinion.
