The horse symbols are the strongest regular symbols. Five Black Mustangs pay 300x the line stake, $84 on a $7 bet or $360 on a $30 bet. The Grey Mustang is the top regular symbol, paying 500x the line stake for five, which works out to $140 on a $7 bet or $600 on a $30 bet.

Expert verdict
Mustang Gold is better than it looks at first. It has that older Pragmatic Play western look: big horse symbols, cowboys, cowgirls, orange desert screen, 25 fixed paylines, easy controls. Jackpot Reveal gives it a little more to do, though I wouldn’t treat the fixed jackpots as the whole point of the slot.
The game gets better when the horseshoes start to show up, since regular wins are usually small. Once I see a few horseshoe values, I’m waiting for reel 5. Give me the Collect symbol and we’re good.
My take is this: play Mustang Gold with a careful stake. The 96.53% RTP is good, the rules are easy to follow. The graphics show their age, though the slot still works for me. It’s a simple western Collect game I’d come back to when I want something easy and just a bit old-school.
