Mega Pyramid slot summary
With its 5×4 grid, 30 paylines, and standard mix of high-and-low-paying symbols, Mega Pyramid is ideal for players who enjoy straightforward gameplay with simple mechanics.
Utilising the familiar Egyptian theme, its gameplay is completely built around one main bonus feature, the Pyramid Eye mechanic, which clones symbols to boost win potential. The feature is available in two different modes, triggering randomly in the base game and remaining active throughout the Free Spins round.
Overall, it might not be packed with features and bonuses, but Mega Pyramid offers a clear gaming experience with a decent win potential and bonus structure that makes it easy for players to follow.
Pros
Pyramid Eye boosts win potential
Free Spins feature retriggers
Solid RTP at 96.18%
Cons

Mega Pyramid comprehensive review
In this Mega Pyramid slot review, I took a closer look at how the Pyramid Eye feature shapes gameplay and win potential. In doing so, I also broke down the slot’s paytable and symbols, along with its RTP and volatility.
RTP and volatility
The Mega Pyramid RTP sits at 96.18% while its maximum win potential stands at 5,482.5x your stake. This is paired with high volatility and 30 paylines across a 5×4 grid layout.

Winning combinations are made when matching symbols align from left to right on adjacent reels within fixed paylines.
The game’s RTP sits marginally above the industry’s average of 96%. This isn’t the most generous but it’s still above average, so that’s the most important thing in my book.
The maximum win potential is fine yet pretty modest, especially when compared to other Red Tiger slots like Buffalo Mania Megaways, which has a maximum payout potential of 19,995.4x your stake.
Elsewhere, my hit rate of 20% after 100 test spins was very much in line with the game’s unforgiving volatility. My biggest returns came from the Pyramid Eye feature which was randomly triggered three times in total. However, it took well over 100 spins before I triggered the Free Spins round.

Bonus features
During the base game, the Pyramid Eye feature can randomly trigger on any spin, regardless of whether or not it forms a winning combination. Once triggered, the eye on top of the pyramid opens up and selects random symbols from the grid.
The chosen symbol is then replicated in random directions across the grid, replacing other symbols in the process and increasing your chances of landing more wins across multiple paylines. Winning combinations are then calculated only after the sequence has been played out, meaning any payouts are based on the final layout.
The Free Spins symbols are your Scatters. Appearing on reels 1, 3, and 5, landing three Scatters will trigger the Free Spins round, awarding you with 10 free spins. When there aren’t enough Free Spins symbols to trigger the feature, one or two Scatters can randomly remain locked in place for additional spins, though this isn’t guaranteed.

Scatters are also available during the Free Spins round, allowing the feature to be retriggered for 10 additional spins if you land three of them. If fewer than three Scatters appear, the same locking mechanic can randomly trigger here too.
Prior to the Free Spins round starting, the Pyramid Eye feature takes on an additional role. The eye of the pyramid once again opens up before selecting a symbol that will remain active for the entire duration of the Free Spins round.
During the Free Spins feature, the Pyramid Eye mechanic will not activate on every spin. Instead, it triggers randomly multiple times across different spins. When it does trigger, the feature behaves in the same way as it does in the base game.
There’s nothing inherently wrong with the bonus features at Mega Pyramid and I enjoyed seeing them play out during testing. My main issue is that everything revolves around the Pyramid Eye mechanic and beyond that, the game feels a bit bare bones.
With no Wild symbols or traditional multipliers, the Pyramid Eye feature essentially acts as a substitute for both. To be fair, if the feature selects a high-paying symbol prior to the Free Spins round, payouts can quickly stack up, especially if additional spins are triggered.
The locking mechanic for the Scatter symbols was a nice touch and when it works, it’s great. However, when it fails to trigger the Free Spins round, it can feel restrictive as it reduces space for regular pay symbols to land.

Symbols and paytable
Mega Pyramid is made up of nine pay symbols which include four high-paying icons related to Ancient Egyptian iconography. The five remaining low-paying symbols consist of four card icons and one medallion or token.
The symbol values shown on the paytable represent multipliers of your total stake. These values remain fixed and do not scale up in proportion to your bet size. Instead, payouts are worked out by multiplying your stake by the symbol value.

Most symbols pay for three, four, and five matches on fixed paylines, except for the game’s highest-paying symbol (Anubis) which also pays for two matches. Landing five Anubis symbols rewards 150x your stake, with four, three, and two matches rewarding 50x, 5x, and 0.5x your bet respectively.
In descending order, the remaining high-paying scarab, Horus, and scroll symbols offer payouts that range between 8x and 0.6x your stake. Meanwhile, lower value symbols pay between 0.2x and 2x your wager.
It is also worth noting that all pay symbols are unique, meaning that there are no two symbols that share identical payout tiers.

The gulf between the game’s top two paying symbols is hard to ignore. Five Anubis symbols reward 150x your stake while five scarabs get you just 8x your wager. That’s an insanely steep drop-off.
For comparison, another slot based on Greek myths, Hall of Gods by NetEnt, offers 200x and 100x your total stake for five matches on its top two paying symbols.
While the remaining pay symbols in Mega Pyramid are relatively consistent, the payouts are very modest. Overall, the slot relies too heavily on its Anubis symbol and Pyramid Eye feature for any meaningful returns.

How to play Mega Pyramid
Mega Pyramid supports a betting range of $0.10 to $500 per spin. To adjust your wager, select the stake icon or use the plus and minus buttons to choose from 20 preset betting options.
To spin the reels, press the big yellow spin button with two circular arrows. Tapping the Turbo icon beside it will make the reels spin faster, allowing for more efficient gameplay.
The Auto button opens up a menu where you can choose between 20, 50, or 100 autospins. You can implement certain conditions to stop autospins after reaching a certain win amount or when the bonus feature triggers.

The Pays section gives you access to the paytable, symbol values, and basic game rules. The Help icon provides a far more detailed breakdown on the mechanics of the slot, including its bonuses. The History option opens up a menu where you can view the results of your previous spins.
Alternatively, the Pays and Help options can also be accessed from the bottom-left hand corner of the screen.

Expert verdict
I feel like Mega Pyramid works well as a transition slot. I can see new players using it as a stepping stone between traditional slots with basic features to more feature-rich titles with tons of bonuses. Mega Pyramid lies somewhere in between, although it leans more toward simpler gameplay.
My biggest issue when it comes to Egyptian-themed slots is that they are very much a dime a dozen. So, while I enjoyed Mega Pyramid, it doesn’t quite do enough to really stand out from the crowd in my book.
Beyond its Pyramid Eye mechanic, the game feels really bare, which can result in repetitive gameplay. The paytable also does little to inspire enthusiasm.
To end on a brighter note, it’s still a good Egyptian-themed slot and I found it a lot more enjoyable than A Night With Cleo by Woohoo Games. It also offers a much higher maximum win potential when compared to Eye of Horus by Blueprint Gaming.
