Cash Eruption came out in 2020 from IGT, with a volcano theme built around fire effects, fruit symbols, sevens, and a 5×3 reel setup. It looks simple when you first open it, which fits the game: 20 fixed paylines, regular left-to-right wins, and bonus symbols where most of the payouts come from.

In this Cash Eruption review, I’ll go through the RTP and volatility, the expanding wilds, the volcano scatter free spins, and the fireball respins that can lead to the 10,000x Grand jackpot. I’ll also cover the symbols, paytable, and how the game feels once those features start showing up.

Cash Eruption slot review summary

Cash Eruption uses a 5×3 layout with 20 fixed paylines and keeps the base game easy to follow. Most spins return small amounts from the regular symbols, and the pace is more or less the same until the features start showing up.

The main feature is triggered by landing six fireball symbols. Once it starts, each new fireball adds a value or a jackpot and resets the respin counter. Filling the grid awards the Grand jackpot that can reach up to 10,000x the stake. Free spins are triggered by three scatters and give six spins, with the middle reels linking into larger symbols during a round.

The RTP is around 96% with medium-high volatility, so payouts come in bursts tied to the features.

Pros

  • 10,000x max win

  • 4 fixed jackpots

  • Fireball respin feature

Cons

  • 96% RTP

Time2play Expert Analysis

I played Cash Eruption mostly around $2 a spin, which is my standard for slot reviews. The base game was easy to read, but after a few minutes it started feeling basic. Most of the typical wins came back as small amounts, then disappeared again after a couple more spins.

The 96% RTP looks fine for this type of slot, and the medium-high volatility shows quickly. My balance dropped in small steps for a while, then one respin round gave a good part of it back at once. That’s where the slot worked best for me.

Cleopatra, one of the slots I’ve recently played, gives you more of that old free-spins pace, with expanding symbols doing a lot once the bonus starts. I feel like Cash Eruption is more about the fireball round. The regular spins can feel flat for a while, then the respins open and the whole thing wakes up.

Bonus features

Cash Eruption has three feature areas: expanding wilds, free spins, and the Cash Eruption respins. The fireball symbols are the main bonus trigger, and the volcano symbols trigger the free spins round.

The wild symbol is the fire goddess. It can land on reels 2, 3, 4, and 5 and expand across the full reel when it forms part of a winning combination. Fireballs and volcano scatters keep their own roles in triggering features.

The Cash Eruption respins start when 6 or more fireball symbols land anywhere on the reels. The round begins with 3 respins. Fireballs lock in place, and each new fireball resets the counter back to 3. Every fireball carries a cash value or one of the jackpot prizes.

The game has four fixed jackpots:

  • Mini: 5x the stake
  • Minor: 25x the stake
  • Major: 100x the stake
  • Grand: 10,000x the stake

The Grand jackpot is awarded when all 15 reel positions fill with fireballs during the Cash Eruption respins. In that case, the fireball values are set aside and the Grand jackpot is paid.

Free spins are triggered by landing 3 volcano scatter symbols. During free spins, the middle three reels link into one large symbol position, creating a jumbo symbol area across reels 2, 3, and 4.

Extra spins can be added during free spins. If a volcano scatter lands on the middle reel, the game awards 3 more free spins and a 1x payout.

Cash Eruption uses standard feature triggers through symbols on the reels. There’s no bonus buy or gamble feature, and multipliers aren’t a part of the main bonus structure.

Time2play Expert Analysis

For me, Cash Eruption only really started to get interesting around the fireballs. The wilds helped here and there, and the fire goddess looked good over a reel, especially with sevens on the first reel. Still, I was mostly waiting for enough fireballs to land.

The respins are easy to follow. Six fireballs open the round, then you get three spins to add more. Every new fireball locks in, adds a value, and brings the counter back to three. I liked that because I can see the round building without opening the paytable every second.

I had a few spins land 4 or 5 fireballs, which was probably the most annoying part of the game. The free spins were fine, just quicker than I wanted. Six spins can pass fast and the linked middle reels only helped when a better symbol landed there. For me, the respins were easily the better bonus. That’s where Cash Eruption was the most fun.

Symbols and paytable

Cash Eruption uses 9 regular paying symbols, all based on classic slot icons. The game runs on a 5×3 layout, so every spin has 15 symbol positions.

The lower-paying symbols are the fruit icons: cherries, lemons, plums, and grapes. For five of a kind, they pay:

  • Cherries: 40x the stake ($20 on a $0.50 bet)
  • Lemons: 50x the stake ($25 on a $0.50 bet
  • Plums: 60x the stake ($30 on a $0.50 bet)
  • Grapes: 75x the stake ($37.50 on a $0.50 bet)

The higher regular symbols are:

  • Watermelons: 100x the stake ($50 on a $0.50 bet)
  • Liberty Bells: 100x the stake ($50 on a $0.50 bet)
  • Blue sevens: 200x the stake ($100 on a $0.50 bet)
  • Red lucky sevens: 250x the stake ($125 on a $0.50 bet)

In the base game, pattern win uses red lucky sevens and expanding wilds. Red lucky sevens on reel 1 with expanding wilds covering reels 2, 3, 4, and 5 award a 1,000x win. That comes out to $500 on a $0.50 bet and $35,000 on a $35 bet.

The volcano is the scatter symbol. Landing 3 volcano scatters triggers 6 free spins. Three scatters also pay 2x the stake, which is $1 on a $0.50 bet and $70 on a $35 bet. Five scatters pay 100x, which is $50 and $3,500.

During free spins, the middle 3 reels link into one larger symbol position, and symbol payouts are reduced compared to base game.

Time2play Expert Analysis

The Cash Eruption slot’s paytable didn’t take long to figure out. It’s all familiar, so after a couple spins I stopped looking at it and just let the reels run.

On my $2 spin, most of the hits from the fruits were small enough that I didn’t even notice them. You see a few dollars come back, then it’s gone again a few spins later. Bells and watermelons were a bit better, but it still felt like background money. As I was expecting, the screen looked different when the sevens showed up.

The wild showing up across a reel could turn a spin around quickly, especially if it lined up with something decent. Still, most of my attention went to the fireballs. Once I saw four or five of them there, I stopped looking at the rest of the symbols.

Free spins didn’t do much most of the time. The linked reels look good, but they need the right symbol in that big space to pay anything. A couple rounds passed without much, then one came in a bit better and gave something back.

How to play the Cash Eruption slot

Start by opening the game and looking at the control panel under the reels. This is where you’ll find the spin button, bet controls, autoplay, quick spin, and the info menu.

First, set your bet. Cash Eruption starts at $0.20 per spin, and the game uses 20 fixed paylines, so you don’t need to choose how many lines to play. Use the bet button to raise or lower your total stake.

Next, press the spin button. You need at least 3 matching symbols on an active payline to win. Since all 20 paylines stay active on every round, every spin uses the same line setup.

To choose how many spins you want the game to run automatically, open the autoplay menu beside the spin button. If you want the reels to spin faster, turn on quick spin or turbo mode.

Before playing with real money, open the paytable button on the top right corner of the screen. This shows symbol values, paylines, bonus rules, jackpot details, and how the fireball respins and free spins work.

Some versions also include game history, usually inside the menu or settings area. This lets you review previous spins, bet amounts, and wins.

Expert verdict

I knew what Cash Eruption was doing the moment it loaded. Classic symbols, volcano in the background, everything on fire for no real reason. It looks like a slot you’ve seen before, and for the first few spins, that’s exactly how it plays.

After that, the focus shifts to the fireballs. A few land, then four or five show up, and suddenly you’re watching the next spin a bit more closely. I stopped paying attention to line wins at that point and just waited to see if one more would drop.

I had a couple of respin rounds that paid somewhere around $40–$60 on a $2 bet, which covered what I’d just spent and kept it going. The jackpots mostly came in smaller hits, which is how these usually go.

Free spins felt like something the game had to include. They come in, run through quickly, and most of mine didn’t do much. One round paid better when the middle reels lined up with a stronger symbol, though that didn’t happen often.

I’d play Cash Eruption again for the respins and the jackpot chase tied to them. It’s easy to follow, and once the fireballs start landing, you end up watching for that more than anything else.
