Le Santa slot review
Le Santa is a fixed-jackpot slot from Hacksaw Gaming released in November 2025. It’s also the seventh entry in the studio’s iconic Le series, which now has more than a dozen sequels.
Like most Le slots that came before it, it has a 6×5 cluster pays grid, medium volatility, and 3 free spins rounds that build on top of each other. This one pairs it with a 96.14% RTP by default and 4 fixed jackpots led by the 20,000x Max Win prize. But does it deliver?

Le Santa slot review summary
Let’s get the main caveat out of the way: Le Santa is essentially a Christmas reskin of Le King. The iteration takes the fourth installment in Hacksaw Gaming’s Le series and gives it a holiday makeover, with neon streets replaced by snow-covered trees and Smokey disguised as Santa instead of Elvis.
Beneath all the festive details lies the same 6×5 cluster pays grid with medium volatility, a 20,000x max win, and a 96.14% RTP, exactly like Le King. The well-known Golden Squares are still in play and rely on Rainbow activations to reveal Coins worth 0.2x–500x the stake, Clovers that multiply those values by 2x–20x, and Santa Sacks that collect it all.
The only other changes from Le King’s setup include Jackpot Boxes instead of Jackpot Markers, as well as new names for the 3 bonus rounds: Silent Heist, Sleighing It, and Wreck the Halls. They all begin with 10 free spins, and extra FS scatters during the bonus can extend all 3.
Pros
3 escalating free spins rounds
4-tier fixed jackpot system
20,000x Max Win prize
Cons
3 other, lower-RTP versions
Thin lower end of the paytable
Non-purchasable Wreck the Halls round
Le Santa comprehensive review
I spun these Christmas-themed reels across several sessions and at different stakes. In this sweeping Le Santa slot review, I break it all down, including the game’s RTP, volatility, bonus features, and paytable.
RTP and volatility
The Le Santa RTP clocks in at 96.14%, which is slightly lower than the original Le Bandit but still above the industry average.
| Category | Details |
|---|---|
| RTP | 96.14% |
| Maximum win | 20,000x |
| Number of paylines | Cluster pays |
| Volatility | Medium |
It’s a medium-volatility game played on a 6×5 grid with cluster pays, so wins here are formed by groups of 5 or more matching symbols on adjacent squares.
Le Santa slot’s RTP of 96.14% matches that of Le King’s. For reference, that’s slightly higher than the 96% RTP in Everi’s Cash Machine Jackpots, which also has 4 jackpots. But unlike Everi, Hacksaw Gaming also offers 3 other lower-RTP versions, so you’ll need to check that.
Volatility is medium across the board, with the provider giving the game a 3 on a 1–5 scale. This label felt true during all my sessions with Le Santa, with smaller payouts landing fairly often and Rainbow activations almost making up for all the dead spins and lower-paying symbol hits.
Bonus features
Le Santa complements its cluster pays grid built around Super Cascades with 3 main features: Golden Squares, Jackpot Boxes, and 3 free spins modes.
| Category | Details |
|---|---|
| Bonus features | Wilds, scatters, Super Cascade, Golden Squares, Jackpot Boxes, 3 free spins rounds, and Buy Bonus |
| Top features | Wreck the Halls |
| Jackpot | Mini, Major, Mega, Max Win |
Super Cascade
This feature removes all symbols that match those in a winning combo, even if they sit outside the cluster that formed the win. When that happens, new symbols fill up the emptied squares, and the sequence continues until a Super Cascade can’t form any more wins.
Golden Squares
Cascading wins in Le Santa leave behind Golden Squares. If a Rainbow symbol tags along, it’ll activate these positions, causing them to reveal:
- Bronze Coins: Pay out 0.2x, 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 3x, or 4x your stake
- Silver Coins: Pay out 5x, 10x, 15x, or 20x your stake
- Gold Coins: Pay out 25x, 50x, 100x, 250x, or 500x your stake
- Green Clovers: Multiply adjacent Coins and Santa Sacks by 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 10x, or 20x
- Gold Clovers: Multiply all Coin and Santa Sack symbols by 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 10x, or 20x
- Santa Sacks: Collect the values of Coins and other Santa Sacks but not Jackpot Boxes
- Jackpot Boxes: Reveal Mini, Major, Mega, and Max Win jackpot prizes
When the last Santa Sack activates, it reactivates all Golden Squares, which then reveal a new set of these special symbols.
Jackpot Boxes
Le Santa has 4 fixed jackpots: Mini, Major, Mega, and Max Win. They’re worth 10x, 100x, 1,000x, and 20,000x your stake, respectively, and they rely on 4-colored Jackpot Boxes: green for Mini, blue for Major, pink for Mega, and red for Max Win.
Jackpot Boxes pay out only if a Rainbow is also on the grid when they land or are revealed by Golden Squares. Only 1 of each color can appear at the same time, though all 4 different Jackpot Boxes can land simultaneously, in which case their values are combined.
Free Spins
All 3 bonus rounds in Le Santa start you off with 10 free spins. The mode you activate depends on the number of FS scatters you land on the grid at the same time:
- Silent Heist (3 scatters): The Golden Squares in the base bonus are progressive, so they stay on the grid until a Rainbow activates them. Moreover, all Coins carry values of at least 1x your stake here.
- Sleighing It (4 scatters): This round gives Golden Squares an interesting upgrade. Even after these positions get activated by a Rainbow symbol, they remain highlighted until the feature ends.
- Wreck the Halls (5 scatters): The hidden epic bonus builds on top of Sleighing It, adding a guaranteed Rainbow on every spin. Plus, it removes 0.2x–4x Bronze Coins, leaving more room for Silver and Gold coins with values of 5x–500x to be revealed.
While the bonuses start with 10 initial free spins, you can extend all 3 by landing additional FS scatters on each spin. Hitting 2 at once gives you 2 extra spins, whereas getting 3 awards 4.
Buy Bonus
There are 4 purchase options available here:
- BonusHunt FeatureSpins (3x stake) make all spins 5x more likely to trigger a bonus.
- Frosty FeatureSpins (60x stake) guarantee at least 1 win and 1 Rainbow on each spin.
- Silent Heist (80x stake) takes you into the first of 3 bonus rounds with 10 free spins.
- Sleighing It (250x stake) activates the same-named bonus mode, which includes 10 free spins.
Like in most Hacksaw Gaming releases, you can’t buy your way into the final bonus.
Feature-wise, Le Santa is almost a carbon copy of Le King, which in itself is a revamp of Le Bandit. That doesn’t mean the feature set here is bad. In fact, I liked that Le Santa kept the x20 multipliers and Golden Clovers that apply across the entire grid.
There’s also one minor change here that can have a major impact. Unlike Le King’s Spin City, Le Santa’s Silent Heist doesn’t include 0.2x or 0.5x Bronze Coins, which means Rainbows automatically reveal higher values. This was evident from the first time I triggered the base bonus and landed $67.50 on a $1 bet. It’s also enough to give this entry an edge over Le King.
If there’s one thing I was hoping would change, it’s the fixed jackpot system. There’s still great potential here, as the Max Win puts a $1,000,000 prize on the table at $50 per spin, but even after 400+ spins, I only ever saw Mini and Major symbols, and not alongside Rainbows.
Symbols and paytable
In addition to the special symbols that sit behind Golden Squares, Le Santa’s paytable also includes 10 regular-paying symbols.
The 5 card royals (10, J, Q, K, and A) form the lower-paying symbol group. They all pay out 0.1x the stake for clusters of 5 and 0.2x for clusters with 6 or 7 symbols. That said, there are differences between them for bigger clusters:
| Lower-paying symbols | Clusters of 8–11 symbols | Clusters with 12+ symbols |
|---|---|---|
| 10 | 0.3x | 0.5x |
| J | 0.3x | 0.6x |
| Q | 0.4x | 0.6x |
| K & A | 0.5x | 1x |
| Category | Details |
|---|---|
| Theme | Christmas |
| Reel layout | 6×5 |
| Highest paying symbol | Bell |
| Adjustable paylines | N/A |
| Visuals | Snowy |
| Sound | Festive |
| Mobile quality | Good |
The high-paying icons are all Christmas-themed, and include stockings, baubles, trees, canes, and bells. Here’s how they pay out across clusters with between 5 and 12+ symbols:
| Higher-paying symbols | 5 | 6-7 | 8-11 | 12+ |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Stocking & bauble | 0.3x | 0.5x | 1x | 3x |
| Tree | 0.5x | 1x | 3x | 5x |
| Cane | 1x | 2.5x | 5x | 10x |
| Bell | 1x | 2.5x | 5x | 25x |
Wilds are represented by evil-looking snowmen, and they substitute for all regular symbols.

Even if the 30-square grid leaves enough space for bigger clusters to form, I spent most of my time staring at smaller groups of 5–9 symbols. And with 1x being the max win for clusters with 12+ lower-paying symbols, the wins I had here were so low that they’re practically irrelevant.
The higher-paying icons offer better returns as soon as you enter cane-and-bell territory or start forming clusters of 7 or more symbols. That said, the real wins still almost exclusively come from well-timed Rainbows activating 10+ Golden Squares, especially if you land a Clover or 2 on one of these highlighted positions.
How to play Le Santa
Despite having a layered feature set, Le Santa plays just like any other slot. Bets range from $0.10 to $50, and you can set yours using the up/down arrows at the bottom. From there, just tap the spin button next to these to start.
There’s also an autoplay menu that sits right next to these buttons. It lets you set up 10–1,000 hands-free spins, place loss and single-win limits, and even set it to turn off when a bonus is triggered.
| Category | Details |
|---|---|
| Min bet | $0.10 |
| Max bet | $50 |
| Autoplay | Available |
| Turbo mode | Available |
| Game history | N/A |
The bottom left holds the Buy Bonus menu with 4 feature buys mentioned above, as well as the main menu. Tap the latter to access the game’s info page, enable Turbo or Super Turbo modes, and mute all sounds or just the background track.
Expert verdict
Hacksaw Gaming’s entire Le series is based on thematically diverse slots with similar setups. But it looks like Le Santa didn’t get the memo, because it’s not just similar; it’s almost a one-to-one copy of Le King, from the 6×5 grid built around Super Cascades and 4 jackpots to the 3 free-spin rounds and the same feature-buy prices.
Sure, you’re getting a visual overhaul with Smokey disguised as Santa, though I feel like he’s more of a Grinch-type character. But when the only change is the removal of 0.2x and 0.5x Coins from the base bonus, it’s hard to see Le Santa as anything other than a reskin of Le King.
That said, there’s really nothing to dislike about its setup, especially if you’ve never played Le King. You’re still getting an above-average 96.14% RTP and a 20,000x max win. Rainbows can still activate a whole bunch of Golden Squares on the 30-position grid to reveal outright cash values and up to 20x multipliers, which can turn into some pretty hefty wins.
