Double Black Diamond slot review

Everi’s Double Black Diamond slot has an RTP of 95.95%, a maximum win of 7,000x, and the lucrative 2x Black Diamond symbol.
It has similar bonus features to the other slots in the series, including Wilds, bonus multipliers, and four progressive jackpots. My Double Black Diamond slot review looks at the ins and outs of this slot and what sets it apart from the other three Black Diamond entries.
Highlights
Expert verdict
Double Black Diamond seems to be harder to come by than the other slots in Everi’s series, but through my Double Black Diamond slot review, I found it might be the best-performing of the four.
The highlight of this slot is the 2x Black Diamond feature, which functions as both a Wild and a potential trigger for a progressive jackpot when playing at maximum bet. It lands frequently, and often alongside the Black Diamond symbol, which can increase your opportunities for a win.
I felt this slot also had a stronger hit rate when compared with the other slots in the series, but Everi hasn’t disclosed the slot’s volatility, making it difficult to compare accurately. Everi’s lack of information is a common problem with this series.
Double Black Diamond’s base game payouts are also pretty good, although the bonus features really help them along. There are three potential bonus multipliers, which can be multiplied together or by the 2x Black Diamond symbol. Everi doesn’t mention a maximum multiplier, which could mean there’s room for some big wins.
The slot is limited by its narrow betting range of just $0.45–$4.50. There are slots out there with both higher maximums and lower minimums, so this one’s frustrating. Double Black Diamond is in a space where it doesn’t suit high-rollers, despite having four progressive jackpots, but it isn’t the best option for players with a limited budget either.
Where to play Double Black Diamond
If you’re interested in giving this slot a spin, I’ve got some casino recommendations for you. Everi’s Double Black Diamond slot isn’t the easiest slot to find online, but Bet Rivers is one online casino where you’ll find it.

Double Black Diamond slot RTP and volatility
Everi’s Double Black Diamond slot RTP is 95.95%. The slot’s volatility was undisclosed. There are nine paylines and a maximum payout of 7,000x.
The Double Black Diamond slot has seven symbols: single bars, double bars, red sevens, yellow double sevens, blue triple sevens, the Black Diamond logo, and the 2x Black Diamond logo.
Category | Details |
---|---|
RTP | 95.95% |
Maximum win | 7,000x |
Highest-paying symbol | 2x Black Diamond logo |
Volatility | Undisclosed |
On the lowest bet of $0.45, landing any three bars on a payline will award a payout of three credits. Landing three double bars awards 10 credits, and the same goes for any three sevens. The blue triple sevens are on the other end of the scale and pay out 100 credits for three symbols, on a bet of $0.45.
The Black Diamond and x2 Black Diamond symbols work differently from the rest of the symbols. When the bet is set to maximum, these two symbols will trigger the progressive jackpots when they land in certain combinations. They’re both also Wild symbols and substitute for all paying symbols except for bonus multipliers and each other.
When the bet isn’t set to maximum, these symbols award a flat prize payout. When three x2 Black Diamond symbols land on a payline, 7,000x credits are awarded. If it’s two x2 Black Diamond symbols and a Black Diamond symbol, the payout is 1,500 credits. In the case of two Black Diamond symbols and one x2 Black Diamond symbol, the payout is 500 credits, and for three Black Diamond symbols, it’s 200.
Payouts rating
- Maximum win of 7,000x
- Decent base game payouts
- Volatility is undisclosed
- Only 9 paylines
Considering it has so few paylines and is a stepped slot, Double Black Diamond has a decent hit rate, with wins landing relatively often. Double Black Diamond has a maximum win of 7,000x your stake, which is pretty good. The base game payouts are decent too, but are helped out a lot by the bonus multipliers and 2x Black Diamond symbol.
To compare, Black Wolf 2 has a similar RTP of 95.54% and medium volatility, but has a maximum win of just 2,000x your stake. The average base game payouts on that slot also weren’t as good as Double Black Diamond’s.
It’s a bit difficult to say a lot more about this aspect of the game, as Everi hasn’t disclosed any information on the RTP or volatility, even on its site. I found online that Double Black Diamond’s RTP is 95.95%, but couldn’t find out more.Â
These are critical details that the game provider needs to provide so that players can anticipate what kind of game they’re going in for. Not including it anywhere is misleading.
Double Black Diamond slot stakes
Double Black Diamond has a bet range of $0.45–$4.50. The bet is adjusted by increasing or decreasing the multiplier. The multiplier options are x1, x2, x3, x5, and x10, and the bet value will then be multiplied by the nine paylines. The available betting options are $0.45, $0.90, $1.35, $2.25, and $4.50.

It’s unclear if Double Black Diamond has different bet denoms that can be changed when playing for real money. Unfortunately, Everi didn’t disclose this information about the slot. The version I played with had a permanent bet denom of $0.05.
Stake limits rating
- Accessible maximum bet
- Starting bet of $0.45
- Bet multiplied by nine paylines
- Bet range of $0.45–$4.50
A starting bet of $0.45 isn’t the best around. The original Black Diamond has a lower starting bet of $0.25, but if you’re looking for a slot with an even lower starting bet, NetEnt’s Dead or Alive starts at $0.09. It also has a maximum bet of $18, which, even though it isn’t the highest maximum bet, is still higher than Double Black Diamond’s $4.50.
Having $0.45 as a starting bet is ok for some players to kick off their game with, although players with a smaller budget might prefer a lower bet. The slot’s maximum of $4.50, however, is a bit confusing.
High-rollers won’t find it comfortable, since they’re used to bigger allowances, but it’s an accessible amount when it’s required for unlocking the progressive jackpots. Thanks to the multipliers and 2x Black Diamond symbol, there’s the potential for more lucrative wins even with a bet as low as $4.50.
At maximum bet, I had a few wins of $100, $110, and $75, which shows there’s room for bigger wins. However, that doesn’t change the fact that this is a poor bet range, and it’s not helped by being multiplied by nine active paylines.
Everi is also very inconsistent with its demo versions, making it difficult to understand what the accurate betting options are and how betting works.
Bonus features on Double Black Diamond
Double Black Diamond has four bonus features. These are the Black Diamond Wild, the 2x Black Diamond symbol, four progressive jackpots, and multipliers.
The Black Diamond Wild substitutes for all symbols, except for bonus multipliers and the 2x Black Diamond symbol. The 2x Black Diamond symbol is also a Wild and substitutes for all symbols except the Black Diamond Wild and bonus multipliers.
When the 2x Black Diamond symbol forms part of a winning line, it pays 2x the winning combination. When there are two of them, it pays 4x. This doesn’t apply to flat prizes and progressive jackpot wins. If there is a 2x Black Diamond symbol and a bonus multiplier on a winning line, these multiply together and multiply the winning combinations.

Double Black Diamond’s four progressive jackpots are only active when playing at the maximum bet. The triggering symbols must land on an active payline for the progressive to be awarded. Each tier is made up of a different combination of the triggering symbols, which are:
- Tier 1: three x2 Black Diamond symbols
- Tier 2: two x2 Black Diamond symbols and one Black Diamond symbol
- Tier 3: one x2 Black Diamond symbol and two Black Diamond symbols
- Tier 4: three Black Diamond symbols
Tier 1 has the highest award, while Tier 4 has the lowest. The progressive jackpots are all funded by a percentage of all wagers, however, Everi doesn’t disclose what the percentage is. When the maximum bet isn’t set, the relevant flat prize is awarded if these symbols land on an active payline.
The bonus multipliers multiply the winning combinations and are attached to all paying symbols, except for the Black Diamond and x2 Black Diamond symbols. If there are two or more bonus multipliers on a winning line, they will multiply together. The multipliers available are the 2x, 3x, and 5x multipliers.
The 2x and 5x multipliers appear on the triple blue sevens, double yellow sevens, Double Bar, and Single Bar symbols. The 3x multiplier only appears on the red seven and Single Bar symbols.
Bonus features rating
- 2x Black Diamond symbol lands frequently
- Four progressive jackpots
- No free spins
- Jackpots on max bet only
The 2x Black Diamond symbol is the highlight of the Double Black Diamond slot, and in my opinion, the strongest bonus feature in the Black Diamond series. For starters, it lands very frequently, which creates more opportunities for a progressive jackpot to trigger. From my experience, it also landed frequently alongside the Black Diamond Wild. During my seven hours of game time, I almost triggered a jackpot 46 times.
The jackpots can only be triggered when playing at maximum bet, which is a downside on all the Black Diamond slots, but having four variations that can trigger them makes the jackpots feel more accessible. There’s never any guarantee that you’ll trigger a jackpot, and with so few paylines on a stepped slot layout, the game doesn’t help you.
Having two potential Wilds also helps create more frequent opportunities for wins. The 2x black Diamond symbol also adds a 2x multiplier to all wins on its payline and can even be multiplied by another 2x Black Diamond symbol, creating a 4x multiplier.Â
Alternatively, if bonus multipliers are present on the winning payline, these can also be multiplied by the 2x Black Diamond. Everi doesn’t mention a maximum multiplier in its paytable, like it does with the other Black Diamond slots, which means the multiplier bonuses can be quite lucrative.
The bonus multipliers could be more evenly distributed among the paying symbols. The 2x and 5x multipliers are found on the same four symbols, whereas the 3x multiplier is only found on the red seven and Single Bar.
Despite these good bonus features, the Double Black Diamond slot is still limited. There aren’t any free spins, respins, or bonus games to mix things up a bit. Everi keeps things a bit too simple with the Black Diamond series, assigning only one bonus feature to each slot, while it would be nice to see more incorporated.
If you prefer a slot with more engaging bonus features, the Mammoth Peak Hold and Win slot has more variety. It has free spins and the dynamic Hold and Win bonus game, along with Wilds and a few other interesting features.
Double Black Diamond audiovisuals
Double Black Diamond has a classic retro theme and looks like a traditional slot machine you’d find in a land-based casino. It has the same funky background design as the original Black Diamond slot, with a blue and black color scheme.

Category | Details |
---|---|
Theme | Classic casino |
Graphics | Retro with a limited color scheme |
Animations | Basic |
Sound quality | Good |
Mobile compatibility | Excellent |
The slot doesn’t have any background music but has classic game sounds, including the winning jingle. The x2 Black Diamond symbol also has its own sound when it lands on the reels. If two progressive trigger symbols land on a payline, the reels start to spin red, and a hype track plays while the slot determines if the third symbol on the payline is another trigger.
The animations are basic and limited, and include the spinning reels and the symbols pulsing when they’re part of a win.
Audiovisuals rating
- Funky classic casino design
- New game sounds for 2x Black Diamond
- Lackluster design
- No background music
Overall, I feel that more could have been done for the Black Diamond series from an audiovisual perspective, so that each slot can stand apart from the other. Apart from the addition of one new sound and maybe a tweak to the background design to reflect the new bonus feature, not much else is changed between these slots.
For players who enjoy a classic and less distracting slot design, Double Black Diamond is another one to add to the list. I personally feel you can retain a classic vibe and keep things simple, while also updating the design and giving it a bit more edge.
Since the addition of the 2x Black Diamond symbol creates more opportunities for progressive jackpots and flat prizes, the double Black Diamond slot is more animated than the other slots in the series. This makes the slot feel more engaging, even if the animation is quite simple: the reels spin faster and turn red when two progressive triggers land on a payline on the first two reels.
This 2x Black Diamond symbol also has its own subtle game sound that is a nice touch at the end of a spin, but it’s nothing remarkable. Other game sounds include the winning jingle, which has been recycled from the original Black Diamond slot.
The background is also identical to the one in Black Diamond, which is a shame, as a small tweak could have made this slot more interesting to look at. It’s also a blue and black monotone design, which feels a bit boring. Black Diamond Deluxe and Black Diamond Platinum use the same color scheme but have more vibrant background designs.
Double Black Diamond game layout
Everi’s Double Black Diamond slot has a 3×3 layout and nine paylines. The slot is stepped and allows up to two symbols on the reels simultaneously. The game is played by pressing the spin button, but autospin is available.
Double Black Diamond allows up to 100 autospins but doesn’t have any additional settings. ‘Quick Spin’ is also available through the settings.

The menu can be accessed on the bottom left. This includes the Quick Spin, autospin, and bet settings. There’s also the paytable and the recall button for your game history. The paytable explains the bonus features in a basic way, along with the paying values of each symbol. Important details like the maximum win and the RTP are missing.
Double Black Diamond adjusts well to a smaller screen, with the slot running smoothly in both portrait and landscape modes.
Game layout rating
- Slot’s easy to navigate
- Autoplay and Quick Spin
- Important information is missing
- No additional autospins settings
Double Black Diamond has the same game layout as all the other Black Diamond slots by Everi. It’s simple and clean, making it straightforward to get around and find what you need. The menu button opens up all the additional settings and information.
At the same time, it also highlights the crucial features that are missing. The paytable doesn’t mention the slot’s RTP or volatility, and since Everi itself doesn’t have a dedicated page for this slot, this information is hard to come by.
The autospin feature doesn’t have any additional settings, meaning there aren’t any additional checks and balances to prevent players from spinning beyond their budget. It’s also limited as it only allows up to 100 autospins.Â
The Quick Spin is a nice-to-have feature, but realistically only shaves off a second of the spin time. I felt it didn’t make the game move much faster, and for a game that moves quite slowly already, that was disappointing.
