The blue triple sevens are on the other end of the scale and pay out 100 credits for three symbols, on a bet of $0.45.
The Black Diamond and x2 Black Diamond symbols work differently from the rest of the symbols. When the bet is set to maximum, these two symbols will trigger the progressive jackpots when they land in certain combinations. They’re both also Wild symbols and substitute for all paying symbols except for bonus multipliers and each other.
When the bet isn’t set to maximum, these symbols award a flat prize payout. When three x2 Black Diamond symbols land on a payline, 7,000x credits are awarded. If it’s two x2 Black Diamond symbols and a Black Diamond symbol, the payout is 1,500 credits. The original Black Diamond has a lower starting bet of $0.25, but if you’re looking for a slot with an even lower starting bet, NetEnt’s Dead or Alive starts at $0.09. It also has a maximum bet of $18, which, even though it isn’t the highest maximum bet, is still higher than Double Black Diamond’s $4.50.
Having $0.45 as a starting bet is ok for some players to kick off their game with, although players with a smaller budget might prefer a lower bet. The slot’s maximum of $4.50, however, is a bit confusing.

Double Black Diamond’s four progressive jackpots are only active when playing at the maximum bet. The triggering symbols must land on an active payline for the progressive to be awarded. Each tier is made up of a different combination of the triggering symbols, which are:

The bonus multipliers multiply the winning combinations and are attached to all paying symbols, except for the Black Diamond and x2 Black Diamond symbols. If there are two or more bonus multipliers on a winning line, they will multiply together. The multipliers available are the 2x, 3x, and 5x multipliers.

The 2x Black Diamond symbol is the highlight of the Double Black Diamond slot, and in my opinion, the strongest bonus feature in the Black Diamond series. For starters, it lands very frequently, which creates more opportunities for a progressive jackpot to trigger. From my experience, it also landed frequently alongside the Black Diamond Wild. During my seven hours of game time, I almost triggered a jackpot 46 times.
The jackpots can only be triggered when playing at maximum bet, which is a downside on all the Black Diamond slots, but having four variations that can trigger them makes the jackpots feel more accessible. There’s never any guarantee that you’ll trigger a jackpot, and with so few paylines on a stepped slot layout, the game doesn’t help you.
Having two potential Wilds also helps create more frequent opportunities for wins. The 2x black Diamond symbol also adds a 2x multiplier to all wins on its payline and can even be multiplied by another 2x Black Diamond symbol, creating a 4x multiplier.Â
Alternatively, if bonus multipliers are present on the winning payline, these can also be multiplied by the 2x Black Diamond. Everi doesn’t mention a maximum multiplier in its paytable, like it does with the other Black Diamond slots, which means the multiplier bonuses can be quite lucrative.
The bonus multipliers could be more evenly distributed among the paying symbols. The 2x and 5x multipliers are found on the same four symbols, whereas the 3x multiplier is only found on the red seven and Single Bar.
Despite these good bonus features, the Double Black Diamond slot is still limited. There aren’t any free spins, respins, or bonus games to mix things up a bit. Everi keeps things a bit too simple with the Black Diamond series, assigning only one bonus feature to each slot, while it would be nice to see more incorporated.

Overall, I feel that more could have been done for the Black Diamond series from an audiovisual perspective, so that each slot can stand apart from the other. Apart from the addition of one new sound and maybe a tweak to the background design to reflect the new bonus feature, not much else is changed between these slots.
For players who enjoy a classic and less distracting slot design, Double Black Diamond is another one to add to the list. I personally feel you can retain a classic vibe and keep things simple, while also updating the design and giving it a bit more edge.
