Best alternatives to Zodiac Casino
Editor's note
This review is based on the operator’s current offer in Ontario, Canada. Data and analysis below are accurate at the time of the last update, but may be subject to change as the operator’s offer expands.
Expert verdict
Overall, there is room for improvement, but Zodiac Casino is a good choice for players who are primarily interested in games from veteran provider Microgaming, as well as a decent selection of 70+ table games.
The low minimum deposit of just C$1 (with some conditions) for new players makes it an attractive option. An exclusive loyalty program also rewards returning players. With nine payment options, the casino makes it easy to jump right in. However, withdrawal times and limits might test some players’ patience.
I would have liked to have been able to access games in demo mode. Likewise, the casino interface could be a bit easier to navigate and use to find games.
The casino’s weakest point though is definitely its customer support. I had a difficult time getting informative answers from their live chat and email.
That said, if you’re a slots enthusiast who doesn’t mind being patient with customer support, Zodiac Casino will keep you entertained.
Zodiac Casino games: 1,000+ titles
Zodiac Casino has over 1,000 games in its catalogue. Popular slots include Avalon, Thunderstruck, and Break da Bank. Pragmatic Play games also feature in this casino, including favourites like Big Bass Bonanza, Gates of Hades, and Gates of Olympus.
Players can try their luck in nine progressive jackpots like Mega Moolah and Immortal Romance Mega Moolah. One of them, Mega Vault Millionaire, is exclusive to Zodiac Casino.
There are more than 70 table games covering blackjack, roulette, and Sic Bo. Live casino is also available 24/7, with 64 rooms offering all of the above plus Baccarat and game shows like Snakes & Ladders Live.

Games rating
- Above-average number of games
- Over 500 slots
- Diverse table games
- Only one live poker game
- No keno or craps
- No demo play
I was pleased with the large number of games on offer: at 1,000+ titles, there’s enough to keep players busy. That said, it’s not enough to place Zodiac Casino up in the ranks with the likes of BetMGM, which has over 2,000 games.
Slots are the strength here, with at least 550 of those making up Zodiac Casino’s array of games. There are 28 Megaways™ slots, but they weren’t easy or obvious to find. This is where more refined filters would have been helpful, as players can only filter by three- or five-reel, 1-20 and 25+ line slots, as well as Pragmatic Play slots. I found a lot of favourites when I was browsing, but was also surprised to see some major names missing, like Game of Thrones and Jurassic Park.
Notably absent is a demo mode allowing players to try out games without risking their money. Demo play is so common these days that it’s all the more surprising when a casino doesn’t have it.
Their selection of 78 table games places Zodiac Casino above the Ontario average. Players won’t lack for a large variety of blackjack and roulette tables, with one or two more niche options for Dragon Tiger, sic bo and baccarat.
I liked that I could choose from 64 live games to join, but was disappointed that only one of them was a poker table. Definitely some room for improvement there.
Software providers: mostly Microgaming
Zodiac Casino primarily offers games from two providers, Microgaming and Pragmatic Play, with both being large, well-established gaming studios. Additionally it also features some bingo and slots from studios like Neko Games and Coin Machine Gaming. All games can be played on mobile and without needing to download them.

Software rating
- 21 exclusive games
- No download needed
- Early release titles
- Few software providers
If you’re a Microgaming fan, Zodiac Casino is your slots heaven. The majority of their catalogue consists of Apricot titles. However, almost 150 of their 550+ slots are Pragmatic Play names, so players have some choice there.
But there’s no getting around it: having only eight software providers in its library is a downside, which is why Zodiac Casino scores low on this front. Compare this with Lucky Days, which offers games from over 30 providers, and you can see how it might quickly get a bit monotonous when browsing through games.
On the plus side, I loved that there were 21 exclusive titles in Zodiac Casino’s catalogue. A filter for early releases of new games also gives players another reason to return.
Payment methods: plenty but watch out for fees
With nine deposit methods and seven withdrawal methods, there’s a variety of payment options. Credit card, Interac, and e-wallets like MuchBetter and Payz are available for deposits, while withdrawal methods include Interac e-Transfer, eCheck, and even Bitcoin.
Withdrawals generally take somewhere between 2-3 days depending on the method. Bank transfers can take up to 6-10 days. It’s free to cash out, unless you’re withdrawing by debit. That will cost you C$50 for sums under C$3,000 and C$100 over C$3,000. Note that the withdrawal limit for debit is also higher at C$300. And if you win big, there’s a withdrawal limit of C$4,000 per week if there’s a big difference between what you win and what you’ve deposited.

Payments rating
- Low minimum deposit
- Varied payment methods
- High debit withdrawal fees
- Unclear maximum withdrawals
Being able to start playing with just a loonie definitely has major appeal. The C$10 minimum deposit that players have to make after that is fairly typical for Ontario online casinos.
In terms of payments, it wasn’t very clearly laid out in the casino’s FAQs which methods were available for deposits and withdrawals. This is surprising because at nine deposit and seven withdrawal methods, the options are plentiful. (888 casino, Betano, and Casumo all only offer seven deposit options, by comparison.)
After a 48-hour pending period, you can expect to get your winnings between 2-3 days for most methods. I’d like to see speedier payouts, but this is on par with most other Ontario casinos. If you don’t like waiting, try Casino Days instead, where withdrawal times range from instant to one day on average. To Zodiac Casino’s credit though, they are transparent about withdrawal times in their policies.
However, their withdrawal fees and limits leave something to be desired. Considering that most other online casinos in Ontario don’t charge at all, I did raise my eyebrows at the hefty fees and minimum withdrawal if you’re using debit. Likewise, I wasn’t impressed by the conflicting information around withdrawal limits: customer support told me there were no limits, but in the terms and conditions, this was capped at C$4,000 weekly unless you’re a high roller.
Zodiac Casino safety features
In addition to the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO), Ontario’s regulatory body for online casinos, Zodiac Casino is also fully licensed by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission. Third-party auditor eCOGRA has also certified that games are fair and players’ deposits are protected.
Any reputable casino will have responsible gambling protections in place, and Zodiac Casino is no exception. Login duration limits, loss limits, deposit limits and short- and long-term self-exclusion periods act as guardrails to prevent players from risking more money than they should.
Players are offered a secure playing environment with 128-bit SSL encryption and two-factor authentication.

Safety rating
- eCOGRA certification
- Two-factor authentication available
- Multiple licences
- Could use 256-bit encryption
Zodiac Casino has a prominent certification from eCOGRA. This shows that they’re legit: games have been audited for fairness by a leading independent auditor.
Overall, Zodiac Casino seems committed to helping players be aware about the dangers of gambling addiction. Responsible gaming limits are fairly extensive. I liked that the casino links to a third-party self-assessment to help players check whether it might be time to seek help. I was also pleased to see references to the ConnexOntario hotline and website as resources for combating gambling problems.
As a standard, 128-bit SSL encryption is in place. Bonus points also for having two-factor authentication. Though becoming more common, it’s still not standard, so this gives a bit more peace of mind to players.
Customer support: almost non-existent
If players have issues or questions, they can reach customer support via live chat or email on Zodiac Casino’s contact page. For queries that aren’t urgent, the casino promises to get back to players within 48 hours by email. Live chat is available 24/7, but you’ll be routed through a bot first.
As is becoming more common with online casinos, there’s no dedicated phone number for Zodiac Casino. There is a phone line available for the Casino Rewards group though, of which Zodiac Casino is a member.

Support rating
- Chat is open 24/7
- Two support channels and FAQ
- Difficulty getting answers
- No email response
- Live chat gated by a bot
Let’s start with the positives: there are two support channels (live chat and email) to get a hold of support, plus an FAQ. These are all clearly accessible from the page footer and the live chat is available 24/7, which is definitely a plus if players need to get a quick answer.
Unfortunately, I was highly dissatisfied about my experience with customer support. I contacted them by live chat a couple times to get answers that weren’t covered in their FAQs. Before I was able to speak with a live agent, I had to go through a bot. More than once the chat was disconnected before I could even type anything. Once I was finally able to speak with an agent, they were usually more interested in telling me about promos than addressing my questions.
It was also frustrating that before I could get answers to anything, I had to answer a lot of questions to verify my account. While I understand the importance of identity verification, it felt unnecessary as my queries were related to general rather than account-specific information.
Some of my questions couldn’t be answered by chat agents and they redirected me to an email instead. Here I didn’t get much help either. Several of my emails were never answered and the one reply I did get told me to contact yet another email.
So players are better off looking through the FAQs. These cover most basic information, though the information on payments could be better organized.
Usability of Zodiac Casino
Overall, Zodiac Casino’s website is basic and simple. With its black background it already has dark mode built in, making it suitable for night-time gameplay. Games are organized under popular categories like “Slots” and “Live Casino”. Players can also search for specific games.

Signing up at Zodiac is similar to experiences at other Ontario online casinos. You’ll need to provide your name, email, date of birth, address and also verify your identity in order to deposit and withdraw money.

Usability rating
- Straightforward sign-up
- All games on mobile
- Needs better filters
- Unintuitive game categories
It’s fairly easy to navigate this casino as the website is quite simple. But this is also part of what could be improved about the navigation. I would have liked to see more filters, for example to search by software provider. This is offered by other casinos like KnightSlots, where I can more easily find games by my favourite provider.
While popular categories like slots, live casino, and table games are easily accessed in the top menu, other categories are less intuitive. It’s not clear what games are categorized under “Variety” until you click into it to find a mix of bingo and more unconventional slots games. The “Rooms” tab was similarly opaque but was actually quite helpful once I realized that it showcased different collections of early-release, popular, and themed games.
Within the different top menu categories, games are listed a bit haphazardly. I found it difficult to choose between all the different blackjack and roulette titles under table games because they were mixed together in an endless scroll. Separating them out under sub-categories would have made it easier to navigate.
