Expert verdict

In a lot of ways, Scarlet Sands really impressed me. It’s not perfect, and there’s plenty that needs work, but overall, Scarlet Sands is a great choice for a sweeps casino.

Bonuses and promos are where Scarlet Sands really shines. It’s got daily bonuses, specifically the daily login bonus and the daily game, which is even available every three hours. When so many sweeps casinos out there stop at the sign-up bonus, Scarlet Sands stands out by having several regular SC bonuses.

The game offering is fine, although I was hoping for more. 1,000+ games is a great number, but it lacks variety since there are only slots and fish tables available. There are also some key providers like Hacksaw missing, which would make a difference to the general quality of the game library.

What needs work, though, is the availability of information on the site. Essential pages aren’t available, such as a sweepstakes page that explains how SC and redemptions work, and there also isn’t a dedicated RG page that highlights how to recognize poor gaming habits and what RG is.

Overall, players will have a good time at Scarlet Sands. If you’re not the biggest fan of slots, it’s not the option for you, but for experienced players who love slots, it’s a good choice. For newcomers to sweepstakes, Scarlet Sands is a great way to get to know the sweeps world.

State differences

Scarlet Sands is available in 37 states, excluding Washington, Idaho, Wyoming, Michigan, Nevada, Connecticut, Delaware, Montana, West Virginia, New York, Louisiana, Rhode Island, and New Jersey.

How does Scarlet Sands casino work?

Scarlet Sands is a sweepstakes casino with two virtual coins. These are Gold Coins (GC) and Sweeps Coins (SC). You can play with either of these coins by selecting GC Mode or SC Mode, but they function differently.

GCs are a token coin. They’re used to play for fun, and you can get them either through the regular bonuses and giveaways, or you can buy them in purchase packs. SCs can also be acquired through bonuses and giveaways, but they can’t be purchased. They’re often included as a freebie in the GC purchase packs.

You can, however, redeem your SC for a prize. The prize redemption options are gift cards or cash prize redemptions. The minimum required for gift cards is 25 SC, while for cash prizes it’s 100 SC.

Bonuses and loyalty at Scarlet Sands

The sign-up bonus at Scarlet Sands consists of two parts. Upon registering your account, you’re given 250,000 GC. For this part, you only need to make an account using your email and a password.

After that, you can verify your email address to receive 100,000 GC and 1 SC. This equals a total of 350,000 GC and 1 SC.

Players can also claim an exclusive first purchases pack, which awards up to 23,000,000 GC and 800 SC.

  • First purchase: 100% bonus with up to 900,000 GC + 60 SC
  • Second purchase: 50% bonus with up to 1,000,000 GC + 52.50 SC
  • Third purchase: 60% bonus with up to 1,500,000 GC + 70 SC
  • Fourth purchase: 50% bonus with up to 1,500,000 GC + 75 SC
  • Fifth purchase: 50% bonus with up to 2,000,000 GC + 80 SC
  • Sixth purchase: 40% bonus with up to 2,000,000 GC + 75 SC
  • Seventh purchase: 30% bonus with up to 2,500,000 GC + 75 SC
  • Eighth purchase: 40% bonus with up to 3,000,000 GC + 95 SC
  • Ninth purchase: 50% bonus with up to 3,500,000 GC + 100 SC
  • Tenth purchase: 50% bonus with up to 5,000,000 GC + 125 SC

When selecting your purchase pack from the deal, you’ll have a choice. For example, for the first purchase deal, you can pay $9.99 and get 200,000 GC and 20 free SC. Alternatively, you can pay $29.99 and get the maximum of 900,000 GC and 60 free SC.

With The Daily Blaze, players can claim a daily login bonus. This is only available to claim once you’ve completed your profile. It’s a progressive bonus that’s claimed across seven days, but resets if you miss a day:

  • Day 1: 5,000 GC + 0.25 SC
  • Day 2: 7,500 GC + 0.30 SC
  • Day 3: 10,000 GC + 0.25 SC
  • Day 4: 25,000 GC + 0.30 SC
  • Day 5: 50,000 GC + 0.25 SC
  • Day 6: 100,000 GC + 0.50 SC
  • Day 7: 10 Free Plays

The total awarded at the end is 197,500 GC, 1.85 SC, and 10 free plays.

You can also claim further coins daily by playing the Desert Dice game. This can be played every three hours. Players roll two dice, and the score determines how many GC and SC are awarded:

  • 2-6 points = 100,000 GC
  • 7-11 points = 250,000 GC + 1 SC
  • 12 points = 500,000 GC + 5 SC

On Sundays, players can play the Supergame version of this. Every three purchases made throughout the week equals one attempt, with up to three attempts available. The game works the same, but the awards are bigger.

  • 2-6 points = 250,000 GC + 1 SC
  • 7-11 points = 500,000 GC + 10 SC
  • 12 points = 750,000 GC + 25 SC

For further coins, players can spin the Royal Wheels every 12 hours. There are three wheels: the Scarlet Wheel, the Elite Wheel, and the Legendary Wheel. The top prize on the Scarlet Wheel is 10 SC. You can only play the Elite Wheel and the Legendary Wheel when your VIP level is high enough.

Scarlet Sands also has a friend referral bonus. Invite your friends using the link or QR code to receive 500,000 GC and 20 SC, while your friend gets 400,000 GC and 5 SC. To claim the bonus, your friend needs to make purchases of $19.99 in total.

Other ways to claim coins are through the AMOE, which awards 1 SC, and via social media giveaways.

You can also increase your level in Scarlet Sands’ VIP club for further rewards. Every player starts out at the first level, which is Silver. There are eight tiers: Silver, Gold, Crystal, Flame, Noble, Glory, Radiant, and Imperial.

Rewards include being upgraded to the Elite and Legendary Wheels, weekly coinback, exclusive offers, and birthday gifts. Imperial level players also get a personal manager.

Bonus rating

96/100 A bounty of generous bonuses
  • 3 daily login bonuses
  • 8-tier VIP program
  • 10 purchase packages
  • Only 1 SC with sign-up bonus

It’s hard to know where to start with bonuses at Scarlet Sands. Honestly, I’ve only docked four points from the score because the sign-up bonus awards 1 SC, which is pretty low even when you look at the rest of Scarlet Sands’ bonuses. There’s also a lack of slot tournaments, but otherwise everything else is great.

The sign-up bonus is split into two parts: 250,000 GC for making your account, and the remaining 100,000 GC and 1 SC for verifying your email. It’s very easy to get your sign-up bonus, and the total of 350,000 GC is great. Good Vibes, for instance, awards 100,000 GC and 2 SC. Scarlet Sands is definitely on the higher end when it comes to GC, but some sweeps casinos award more SC.

That being said, Scarlet Sands makes up for its lack of SC quickly with all the bonuses available. If you claim the daily login bonus on your first day, you’ll immediately have 355,000 GC and 1.25 SC.

Then, you need to take a spin on the daily game. This is a pretty unique and lucrative game, especially since it’s available every three hours. I played it twice on my first day and won 100,000 GC both times. That took my GC on the first day up to 555,000 GC! I also appreciated that there’s a Sunday version of the game, for some extra spice.

The friend referral bonus is great, too, and it awards you 20 SC, and your friend gets 5 SC, plus the GC. I liked this a lot because it means both parties get something, and it’s reasonably accessible since your friend can make a total purchase amount of $19.99.

Games available at Scarlet Sands

Scarlet Sands has 1,000+ games available in its game library. These are all slot games, with nine fish shooting games. Scarlet Sands has 10 Megaways and 125 Hold and Win games.

The slot selection covers popular themes like sweets, the Wild West, pirates, lucky 7s, and mythology. There are also 51 slots with cascading reels, and another 153 slots have a bonus buy feature.

75/100 A slots champion, but lacking variety
  • 1,000+ games available
  • 9 fish shooters
  • No live games
  • Only slots and shooters available

After the high of the bonuses, I was a little disappointed with the games offering. 1,000+ games is great, and not many sweeps casinos have over 1,000 games. However, I expected to find more than slots available.

LuckyStake, for example, has 823 games, but that includes 23 live games and even 13 RNG table games.

The lack of instant games, table games, and even live games is a shame. Many sweeps casinos on the market have these games, so unless you’re a big slots fan, you’ll find the selection a bit lacking.

The slot selection is decent, with pretty much every theme covered, and you’ll find Megaways and Hold and Win games, plus other mechanics. What does Scarlet Sands some credit is that it has fish tables and shooters available. At least these provide some variety.

Software providers for Scarlet Sands

Scarlet Sands has 12 software providers. This includes names like TaDa Gaming, BetSoft, Kalamba, BGaming, and Slotopia. The provider with the largest share of games is Netgame, with 159 games. BetSoft follows close behind, with 144 games. The games are all readily available on Scarlet Sands’ site, without needing to download.

Software rating

74/100 A decent list of providers, but lacking key names
  • 12 providers
  • No need to download
  • No bespoke software
  • Missing key providers

The providers list explains the limited list of games available. It’s not the number of providers, as I’ve seen sweeps casinos do more with fewer providers, such as Cazino. It has just four software providers, but has over 1,000 games available, including 14 live games, six scratchcards, and a handful of other mini games.

Certain key providers aren’t included, such as Hacksaw Gaming. I also expected to find 3 Oaks Gaming, which is almost a given at any sweeps casino, but it’s not on the list. ICONIC21 is also a popular choice for a live games provider that many sweepstakes work with that’s unfortunately just not present here.

Payment methods accepted at Scarlet Sands

Players making purchases at Scarlet Sands can use credit and debit cards from VISA, Mastercard, and Discover.

Redemptions are only available for players who have completed their profile and verified their account by making at least one purchase. To make a redemption, the options are Push-To-Card transfer, using the same credit and debit cards as with purchases, ACH transactions, and gift cards. There are 2,000+ gift cards to choose from Prizeout’s catalogue.

For redemptions, you can also use PayPal and Cash App, as these are linked to Mastercard and VISA, respectively.

To redeem SC for a gift card, you need to have a minimum of 25 SC, while for a cash prize redemption, the minimum is 100 SC. All SC need to be played through at least once before requesting a redemption.

Scarlet Sands takes up to 24 hours to process a redemption request. It can then take up to 10 business days for the funds to reach a bank account in the case of ACH transfers, up to seven days to reach a PayPal account, although this is usually instant, and around three working days when using Push-To-Card. Gift cards are delivered instantly.

There are 11 purchase packs available. The smallest package is worth $4.99, and will credit you with 50,000 GC and 5 SC. The largest is worth $499.99 and credits your account with 5,000K GC and 500 SC.

Payments rating

87/100 Standard range of payment options
  • 3 redemption options
  • 25 SC gift card redemptions
  • 100 SC cash redemption minimum
  • Slow ACH redemptions

The payment options at Scarlet Sands are pretty standard. Credit and debit cards for purchases are the norm, so making purchases should run smoothly. There are things I liked, and things I didn’t like, about redemptions, though.

First, I liked that there are three options for redemptions. Two of these facilitate cash redemptions, and the third option is gift card redemptions. What’s also great about gift cards is that there’s a 25 SC minimum. You can hit 25 SC reasonably quickly, although Hello Millions offers gift card redemptions for just 10 SC.

Cash redemptions aren’t so accessible. The minimum is 100 SC, which is high. Hello Millions does cash redemptions for just 50 SC, and even Ace.com has a minimum of 75 SC.

The redemption times are also a little slow. It might take Scarlet Sands 24 hours to process your redemption, but anything other than a gift card redemption can take almost a week to hit your account.

Is Scarlet Sands safe?

Scarlet Sands is owned and operated by UTech Solutions LLC, a company registered in Wyoming. It has 256-bit SSL encryption with ECDSA technology. If you want to go further to secure your account, two-factor authentication is available.

Scarlet Sands doesn’t specify if its games use an RNG; however, it works with known and trusted game providers. This means their games will have audited RNGs.

There isn’t a dedicated RG page at Scarlet Sands; however, you can find the available RG tools via your account. There are four RG tools available: reality check, purchase limit, self-exclusion, and cool-off period.

Reality checks can be set starting at a minimum of 10 minutes, up to 120 minutes. These are pop-ups notifications that alert you when you’ve been playing for a certain amount of time, and ask you if you want to keep going.

Purchase limits help you to control your spending on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. It’s set by listing how much you’re ready to spend.

If you need to take a break from the sweeps casino, you can use the cool-off period or self-exclusion. The cool-off period still allows you to play at the sweeps casino, but only in GC mode, meaning no redemptions can be made. You also can’t make further GC purchases, so you’re playing with what you’ve got. This can be set for one day, five days, 15 days, or 30 days.

For a more permanent break, you can choose self-exclusion. This will suspend all access to your account until the self-exclusion period ends. The minimum time period is one month, and it can be set for a maximum of 60 months, or even indefinitely.

Scarlet Sands doesn’t list or refer to any external RG sources for professional help.

Safety rating

88/100 RG tools available, but no RG page
  • 4 RG tools available
  • 256-bit SSL encryption
  • 2FA available
  • No dedicated RG available

Overall, Scarlet Sands does well on security. It’s got great encryption, you can choose to have 2FA, and although RNG isn’t mentioned, you can trust that the games are fair given the list of providers.

There are four RG tools available, and that you can set them up from your account settings. This gives players more control over their RG tools and makes it much more accessible. There are also clear instructions for each tool, making the process really easy.

The tools available are good too, with reminders, a cool-off period, and self-exclusion available to take different kinds of breaks, and purchase limits to control your spending. Wager limits could also be introduced as an additional way to control your spending during gaming.

What’s really missing here, however, is a dedicated RG page. Yes, there’s a whole section of your account settings dedicated to player safety tools, but it doesn’t contain information on what RG is or Scarlet Sands’ approach to it. There are no tips for playing safely, and no external resources are listed.

When it comes to RG, you need to give players the full package, so they understand what RG is and how to recognize when their gaming habits are becoming a problem. External sources are also important to give players somewhere to turn to when things get too much.

Reaching out to support at Scarlet Sands

When you need support, you can reach out to Scarlet Sands’ support team via email or 24/7 live chat. Scarlet Sands doesn’t have a ticketing system or a phone number. There also isn’t an FAQs page.

With the live chat, I never waited longer than a minute to be put through to an agent. All the agents I spoke with were approachable and helpful, getting me the answers I was looking for and clarifying when I asked for further details.

To contact support via email, players can reach out to [email protected]. When I tested email support, I got a response back in around 15 minutes. Like with the live chat, the response from the email support team was clear, detailed, and efficient.

Support rating

85/100 Great 24/7 live chat support with fast and helpful responses
  • 24/7 live chat support
  • Fast and detailed support
  • No phone support
  • No FAQs

Support at Scarlet Sands is one of the best features it has. While it’s true that there isn’t a phone line, and there aren’t FAQs, the quick response time and the quality of responses makes Scarlet Sands’ support team a reliable one.

15 minutes as an average email response time is impressive, given that many sweeps casinos either take hours or never answer me. Plus, the quality of the response speaks volumes about the sweeps casino’s approach to support.

A lot of customer support teams hand you a link to the terms and conditions and tell you to find the answer there. Scarlet Sands’ team takes the time to give you the answer you’re looking for, and offers clarification. This applies to the live chat service, too.

I found the live chat service excellent. The team answered in under a minute, and I got answers to all of my questions. What’s really missing is an FAQs page. Including an FAQs page would really solidify Scarlet Sands’ support offering.

The usability of Scarlet Sands’ platform

Scarlet Sands has a clean design. There isn’t an obvious theme, just a black background and standard sweeps casino imagery, but it’s inviting and fun.

Scarlet Sands mobile screenshot

Navigation is also straightforward, thanks to the sidebar menu. It has shortcuts for important pages, like the daily game, promotions, VIP club, and a few game categories. There’s also a shortcut for support, which causes the live chat widget to pop up.

In the game lobby, you can find games according to the filters. This includes Top Games, New Games, Hot Games, Bonus Combo, Hold and Wins, Cascading Reels, Bonus Buy, Fishing-themed, and Wild Life-themed. Filters for Megaways and other popular slot themes aren’t included; however, you can use the search bar to search by name or provider.

There are a few key pages that are missing on the Scarlet Sands’ site, specifically, a sweepstakes information page or even a page on redemptions.

Scarlet Sands is responsive to smaller screens, meaning that although there isn’t a web app or a downloadable casino app, you’ll manage fine playing in a mobile web browser as the site is easily scrollable with touchscreen technology.

Usability rating

72/100 Nice design, but missing information is concerning
  • Clean design
  • User-friendly navigation
  • Essential pages missing
  • Limited game filters

It’s a tough one to call because although Scarlet Sands has a very user-friendly site, and its design is clean and inviting, the missing pages impact the user experience.

I shouldn’t have to ask customer support about redemptions unless I’m seeking additional clarification. The basic information should already be on the site, either in the sweepstakes page or in the Terms of Service. Hiding them feels misleading, and for players who aren’t experienced with sweepstakes, they won’t know they need to ask.

There also aren’t any logos in the footer for the available payment methods. When you click on a purchase pack, it asks you to make a card payment, and there are the Verified by VISA and MasterCard SecureCode logos, but I still had to ask support which cards I could use. This ties back into the missing RG page, where crucial information isn’t available.

Finding games is easy enough, thanks to the search bar, but there could definitely be some more filters to showcase the different slot themes available. There also isn’t a filter for fish tables. I found those by chance by scrolling through the game lobby, where the category and its available games are listed.
