Expert verdict
This sweeps casino has a strong start in the market, as my LoneStar casino review will show you. There are a few areas that need refining, so check them out to decide if they’re a deal breaker for you or not.
To start with the positives, LoneStar does well with bonuses. It’s got a generous sign-up bonus, there’s the daily login bonus, and social media giveaways, which all enrich the sweeps experience. LoneStar ticks a lot of boxes where providers and games are concerned too. It has over 500 games and a vast variety. It just needs some live dealer games to top it off.
While I was also really impressed with LoneStar’s approach to RG, I felt its customer support needs work. Yeah, there are three ways of getting help, but I had no response from email support after 30 hours and the FAQs aren’t up to the mark. LoneStar also needs to work on its redemptions: a 100 SC minimum and potentially seven days for a cash prize redemption isn’t ideal at all.
Final thoughts? LoneStar needs time to fine-tune its approach. There are strong foundations for this sweeps casino to offer a solid and worthwhile experience, but you need to be prepared to overlook certain areas.
State differences
LoneStar is available in 43 states, excluding Connecticut, Idaho, Michigan, Nevada, New York, Montana, and Washington.
For players in Florida, the maximum prize redemption value won on any one spin or play is $5,000. The daily maximum prize redemption is $10,000.
How does LoneStar work?
LoneStar is a sweepstakes casino. It’s got two kinds of virtual coins, Gold Coins (GC) and Sweep Coins (SC). Both coins can be used to play games, but they work a little differently.
GC can be given to you in bonuses and giveaways, but you can also buy them in purchase packs if you want. They’re used to play social casino games to win more GC, but you can’t redeem them for a prize and they can’t be exchanged for money or SC.
SC can be given to you in bonuses and giveaways, you can request more SC via a mail-in order, and they can be given as a freebie in GC purchase packs. You can’t buy SC, but you can wager your SC to use them for prize redemptions. LoneStar has gift card and cash prize redemptions available.
Bonuses and loyalty at LoneStar
Newcomers at LoneStar are awarded the sign-up bonus. This no-purchase bonus awards 100,000 GC and 2.5 SC. LoneStar also has a daily login bonus of 5,000 GC and 0.3 SC.
LoneStar has a VIP club where you can increase your level by acquiring points. There are five tiers: Bronze, Silver, Green, Pearl, and Master. Being a VIP comes with rewards like birthday gifts, faster redemptions, exclusive games, weekly bonuses, and personal hosts.

Players can claim the refer-a-friend bonus, which awards up to 200,000 GC and 70 SC for every referral you make, although your friends need to make a GC purchase for you to claim the bonus. Bonuses or promos can also come in email promotions with limited deals.
You should keep an eye on LoneStar’s social media, too. The sweeps casino frequently hosts giveaways or challenges, like National Video Game Day where it had a giveaway of 5,000 GC and one SC. If you need some additional SC, mail-in requests are available too. These award one SC.
With the first purchase bonus, you can claim offers ranging from 50%–100%, with the best deal awarding up to 500,000 GC and 105 free SC, plus 1,000 VIP points.
Bonus rating
- High-value sign-up bonus
- High GC daily login bonus
- No in-house tournaments
LoneStar has all bases covered when it comes to bonuses. It’s got a sign-up bonus, daily login bonuses, a refer-a-friend bonus, a VIP program, and social media giveaways. These are all the bonuses I expect to find at a sweeps casino.
The sign-up bonus offers pretty good value, giving you 100,000 GC and 2.5 SC for registering. It’s more than Hello Millions, which only awards new players 15,000 GC and 2.5 SC. That being said, WOW Vegas gives double the amount of SC in its sign-up bonus.
The daily login bonus is also a great perk. It’s only 0.3 SC, which is disappointing, but 5,000 GC daily will go a long way when it comes to playing games.
The refer-a-friend has the best value out of the promos, with 200,000 GC and 70 SC. 70 SC is great, brings you really close to the minimum amount required for a redemption. All you need is a friend to help you meet the requirements to claim the bonus.
The only thing that’s missing is in-house tournaments with slots. These add a fun and competitive way to win more virtual coins. LoneStar does have cool giveaways taking place on its socials, but in-house tournaments tend to be more regular.

LoneStar has 500+ games available. Its selection is made up of slots, table games, Megaways, Hold and Win games, Plinko, and fish tables. Its game library includes popular slots like Finn and the Candy Spin and Sugar Rush 1000 from Pragmatic Play.

Game types
Games rating
- Variety of games
- Fish table games
- No live games
When it comes to games, LoneStar performs pretty well. Although it’s got 500+, which isn’t the biggest library when compared to other online sweepstakes casinos, it has managed to curate an impressive variety. Different slots, including Megaways and Hold and Wins, fish tables, and even RNG table games is a sweet offering.
Cazino, for instance, has over 1,000 games, but the selection it offers pales in comparison. It’s only got a few kinds of slots and live games.
That being said, LoneStar is lacking live games, which is a pity. Even though it works with ICONIC21, it hasn’t introduced its live dealer portfolio yet, so I’d love to see that included down the line.
If you were hoping to find a sweeps casino with a solid live casino offering, this might not be the choice for you, but I can recommend trying Mega Frenzy. It has 25 live games, offering multiplier options for blackjack, baccarat, and roulette.
Software providers for LoneStar
LoneStar has some big names under its belt. Relax Gaming, Swintt, Pragmatic Play, NetEnt, Red Tiger, and ICONIC 21, are a few of its software providers. There are no live game providers at LoneStar casino.

Software rating
- Key providers present
- No download required
- No bespoke software
- No live casino providers
LoneStar earns big points for having so many key providers on its list. Pragmatic Play, Relax Gaming, NetEnt, and Red Tiger are all names I was happy to see on LoneStar’s page. This means LoneStar takes the necessary steps to develop a game library that its players are going to engage with and feel satisfied with.
Working with known and reputable providers means a sweep casino provides high-quality games, but it also means those games have independently audited RNGs and RTPs. It also means we get popular slots, like Sugar Rush 1000 from Pragmatic Play.
The lack of a live casino provider is a shame here, as it would round off LoneStar’s offering nicely. Bespoke software is cool to find, but with the list of names available at LoneStar, I’m not too bothered about the lack of it.
Payment methods accepted at LoneStar
LoneStar has a variety of payment methods for purchases. This includes credit cards, like VISA and Mastercard, and e-wallets like Skrill, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
When it comes to redemptions, there’s a 100 SC ($100) minimum for cash prize redemptions, and 45 SC ($45) for gift cards. SC need to be wagered at least once on Sweep Coins Mode Contests to become Redeemable Sweep Coins. You can only make one redemption request in a 24-hour period.
For redemptions, you can use bank transfer, which takes 2–7 days, or you can use Skrill which takes 1–3 days.

For players in Florida, the maximum prize redemption value won on any one spin or play is $5,000. Otherwise, the daily maximum value for prize redemptions is $10,000.
When it comes to purchasing packs, LoneStar has seven options. The smallest coin package you can purchase costs $2.99 and awards 15,000 GC and 30 VIP points. The biggest package awards 500,000 GC, 105 free SC and 1,000 VIP points for $99.99.
Payments rating
- $2.99 minimum purchase
- 5 payment options
- 100 SC minimum cash redemption
- Redemptions take long
LoneStar accepts five payment options, including credit card options and e-wallets. Compared to many sweeps casinos, this isn’t a bad offering. Mega Frenzy only accepts VISA and Mastercard for purchases, with just bank transfer for redemptions.
There aren’t options for cryptocurrencies at LoneStar, which is a shame as this is becoming more of a requirement for sweeps casinos. Gummy Play accepts 14 cryptocurrencies on top of its traditional payment methods.
While LoneStar accepts six payment options, only two are available for redemptions: Skrill and bank transfer. I was glad to see Skrill can be used for redemptions, because bank transfer redemptions take too long. 2–7 days is slow, while Skrill will only need 1–3 days.
There’s also a 100 SC minimum redemption requirement for cash redemptions. It’s only 45 SC requirement for gift cards, but for players who want to redeem a cash prize, 100 SC is too high.
What’s interesting about LoneStar’s coin packs is that they come with VIP points. It’s an interesting way of earning VIP points and adds a little more punch to the average gold coin pack.
Is LoneStar safe?
LoneStar has 256-bit encryption with ECDSA technology. The sweeps casino also has games that use audited RNGs and works with reputable software providers.
After registration, you first need to verify your US phone number, and then your account will have to undergo KYC processes to prove you’re 18+ and that you don’t live in a restricted state.
LoneStar reserves the right to request verification cehcks at any time. This includes but isn’t limited to identification checks, credit checks, source of wealth, and source of funds checks. Failing to provide the requested documents within 30 days can result in the suspension, restriction, or termination of your account.

LoneStar has a dedicated RG page and also has the Responsible Gaming Foundation logo in the footer, showing it’s been recognized by a reputable authority. Its RG page lists the risks of social gameplay, common myths, and how to recognize when your gaming habits are problematic.
LoneStar also lists three external resources that can offer professional support. These are GAA, On-Line Gamers Anonymous, and Smart Mobile Gamers.
When it comes to RG tools, there are six available. To start with, you can set limits on your purchases, gaming sessions, and the number of SC that can be played during your session.
Play limits and purchase limits are set on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. Once you reach the limit that’s been set, you can’t make any additional plays or purchases until the limit resets or you request to remove it. Daily time limits are based on a 24-hour period and limit how long you can remain logged in.
You can also set up activity reminders. This gives you a notification every hour to remind you how long you’ve been playing, and allows you to end the session or keep going.
If you need to control how often you access your account, you can use the Take a Break feature. Email LoneStar’s customer support to take a break from participating in contests. This is available for one day, three days, seven days, 14 days, or 30 days.
For a more permanent break, you can email support to set up self-exclusion. This suspends your account for a minimum of six months up to five years, or indefinitely. Self-exclusion also unsubscribes you from all marketing communications.
Safety rating
- Six RG tools available
- ECDSA 256-bit encryption
- RG is set up via email
LoneStar takes safety and security very seriously. From a technical perspective, the sweep casino has made the choice to have 256-bit SSL security, which is a conscious investment. Plus, its games are fair and have audited RNGs.
That’s not to mention verification. There’s no way of getting around verification, as you first need to verify your account via email, and then you need to verify your mobile number to prove you’re from a non-restricted state.
Besides all this, it has a great availability of RG tools. Purchase, time, and play limits are all things I was glad to find, because these tools can make a big difference for players and many sweeps casinos only offer purchase limits, if even that.
LoneStar is also an example of how self-exclusion is done right. The take a break options is available for temporary periods, but self-exclusion starts at a minimum of six months, with different options available up to five years. There’s also the choice to request a more permanent suspension of your account or to delete it entirely.
This encourages players to use these tools and to contact support for assistance when it’s required. The downside is that email support is the only way to set this up, and that can take a few hours.
LoneStar has a full suite of RG tools, putting it ahead of most sweeps casino. Golden Hearts Games is one sweeps casino I can think of that’s worth comparing to. Not only does it have a full suite of RG tools, but it also has a partnership with Birches Health, giving players a direct support line.
Reaching out to support at LoneStar
There are three ways of getting support at LoneStar: the contact form, email, or the FAQs page. LoneStar doesn’t offer live chat services at this time, but its support is available 24/7.
The contact form can be found via the FAQs page. Players need to choose a category, enter their email address, full name, along with other details that could be relevant to the issue. There’s space to write a description of your request, and you can upload attachments if needed.

For email support, players can contact [email protected]. Email support can take a long time to respond. After 30 hours, I still didn’t have a response to my query.
The FAQs page is missing some key questions and feels a bit sparse, but covers a few areas that might help you. The categories covered are payments, account, verification, login verification, and games and technical issues.
Support rating
- 24/7 support
- Three support methods available
- FAQs is weak
- Email responses can take long
Considering LoneStar has such a great approach to security and RG, I was disappointed with its approach to customer support. There are three support methods available, but each of these doesn’t offer much, so the overall experience is lackluster.
Email support is always great to have, but when 30 hours have gone by, and you still don’t have an answer, it leaves you to fend for yourself. It doesn’t feel like 24/7 support. If there was a live chat alternative it wouldn’t be too bad, but that isn’t the case here.
The contact form is pretty much the same as email, only it requires a lot more detail from you before you can send it. Again, great to have, but when it’s got the same wait time as email support, I’m not that impressed.
As for the FAQs, LoneStar can do a lot better. While there are the categories you’d expect to find in an FAQs section, the question and answer options available are limited and it feels pretty empty.
In the payments category there’s just one question: “I can’t make a purchase, I get one of these errors”. While this is an important question, the answer given goes through what to do if you get a payment error; i.e. try a different method or call your bank.
It’s an okay response, but there are plenty of other questions you can list under the payments category, like how long do redemptions take, and what are my redemptions options.
If reliable customer support is a necessity for you, I’d recommend SpeedSweeps. It has an organized and detailed FAQs section, plus its live chat service is one of the best I’ve encountered.
The usability of LoneStar’s platform
LoneStar has a clean design. The sidebar menu is the main navigational point, with links to items like your profile, promotions, support, and terms. It also has the buttons for the GC store and to make a redemption.
The game lobby has some key filters at the top, such as Megaways, Hold and Win, Most Popular, and High Roller Favorites, plus a search bar that allows you to perform simple search functions. There’s also a dedicated page for every provider, so you can check out what’s available from each one.

In terms of design, LoneStar keeps it sleek and simple. It’s a black background, with some green accents.
This all smoothly transitions to mobile. There isn’t a dedicated casino app, but the site functions fine in mobile browsers.

To see the full extent of what’s on offer at LoneStar, you’ll need to sign up. A very limited view is available to non-members. You can still get a taster of LoneStar’s suave design choices though.
It’s sophisticated, almost edgy, and most importantly, LoneStar functions well. It’s got clean navigation, an easy-to-read font, and the key areas are easy to access. In fact, LoneStar puts them front and center in the sidebar menu.
LoneStar doesn’t have a dedicated casino app, but it’s safe to say that most sweeps casinos don’t. The site transitions fine to smaller devices, so if you really want to play on-the-go, it shouldn’t be an issue.
